Dear DoshDoshington, I just wanted to say it’s impressive how fast you are when it comes to Factorio. You made a LOT of progress on SE in only a hundred-ish hours, and during your Krastorio 2 video you beat the mod is only 50hrs. I just want to point out how efficient you are with your time thanks to building big immediately, and having very efficient builds which you think up and implement extremely fast! Love your content!
My playthrough is up to about 24 hours while having barely gotten into green science because I have this inane need to make sure every single build has at least mostly correct ratios. The most recent hurdle was finding out that the ratio of sand to concrete assemblers is 1:4. Don’t even get me started on how complicated it is just to make yellow inserters. It doesn’t help that my first probably fifteen hours was spent shotgunning cliff explosives to make room to even _build_ a proper bus that wasn’t running directly through the nearest ore patch.
@@DevDog98you see how abysmal.. er, new, they are to factory building when they make their outposts - they didn’t notably cut down the time, they probably just cleared biter nests - the time save just came from an efficient factory and not overbuilding garbage, making it expandable
This is the best video on space exploration that there is! There are currently no "good" finished series on SE and it's understandable why. SE is so complex it makes it difficult to document your progress. I'd love to see a part 2 of this, but don't overwork yourself if you don't feel like making it. @@reiniermels9288he has 2 others with him. so theoretically if he soloed hed had gone in the same amount of time as you.
@@DevDog98 yeah true but im pretty sure he did almost everthing himself
Love your content.
This is the best video on space exploration that there is!
There are currently no "good" finished series on SE and it's understandable why. SE is so complex it makes it difficult to document your progress. I'd love to see a part 2 of this, but don't overwork yourself if you don't feel like making it. If you'll attempt to document the whole playthrough with this level of quality, it will turn into a +-5 part series.
Thank you so much for making this! I loved every minute of this!
Martin might get to it a some point this century, bjt that front has been silent for a while.

9:18 I like that hidden SteveMRE1989 reference with saying nice after popping open the biter nest, though I caught myself thinking nice hiss. 😂
I've watched this twice now and I play the Space Exploration mod myself. I love this mod. I'm so excited to see you play through it. Love your content, dude.
Imagine an alien lands on your planet, builds a bunker, bombs several cities and destroys the armies sent to kill them. Then it sets up factories before stopping, saying "this planet sucks" and then leaving lmfao.
Man, this is like my 30th time watching this video, and it never gets old, its just realy dam good, from editing to scripting, best of luck out there in the depths of space
The Star Trek parody intro was just amazing 10/10 video!
Honestly, this is content not really anyone is doing. I think if you wanted the help, hiring another editor would be easily worth it in ever metric. Your channel is blessed, and I need more. Go at a pase so you dont burn out, though. We're excited for more but we'll all be patient.
Well, thats not quite true, Zisteau also makes these kinds of videos, but he is quite hit and miss when he will upload, usually months apart, but its the same energy as this one, and i love both
@@JDTeam ty, looking it up. Anyone have any other similar suggestions?
@@XanderHDD Nilaus, but hes more focussed on tutorials, not limited to that only tho.
@@XanderHDD micheal hendricks is a great factorio lets player in a very similar way too. i love his runs a lot
@@ellej77 Only problem is a lot of the runs I've watched (haven't watched him in awhile though so he might have changed this) don't have narration, so if you want to understand what is going on you have to be actively watching. Not a problem for most people, but I like to watch videos in the background most of the time.
53:16 Now that was an impressive squeeze through the gap. Lol
And 1:17:05 caught me off guard. I wasn't prepared for sudden Daft Punk.
not gonna lie, this is one of the best youtube videos i have seen in years. my big love for factorio and the unbelievable amount of charisma this man has makes this a masterpiece i could watch this for hours. im desperately waiting for part 3. good job!
1:17:02 this moment was truly legendary, thanks for that
What a mad lad, I got as far as getting into space and setting up the first space science and very quickly realised the scale needed and stopped playing. Much more fun watching this compressed format. Looking forward to part 2!
Somehow "Space, the Final Frontier" in complete deadpan made me bust a gut. Bodes well for the rest of the video!
BUST A WHAT?
I feel as though autocorrect did it’s job here.
Nah I'm just weird and use phrases the internet ruined with double entendre.
@@byrondumont-eve understandable have a nice day
Wow this is an insanely good video. Even with my ever so shortening attention span i managed to watch this all through; great job man! Its rare to see 1.3 hour videos that dont become boring after 10 minutes
Amazing work. You are incredible and are literally the first person I’ve ever been a patron for
I like seeing the influences from this mod on Space Age
the dev of this mod now works for the devs of the game. that is why they feel very similar.
Only 26 minutes in and paused to say that I enjoy your videos very much. Content like this is the main reason I am addicted to youtube. The mixture of fast paced construction, all relevant information and comedy is on point. Well done, sir!
Thanks for the vid! I really enjoy how you organize, edit, and narrate your videos. I'm not dumb, but I am really bad at keeping track of things like throughput and production balancing, so its really interesting for me to see someone who's internalized all of that. Probably the best Factorio vids on UA-cam for those reasons.
This is ridiculously impressive, and I really love the idea of getting to production/utility science before rebuilding your base. I often make the mistake of building too big too early.
I initially watched your channel from the deathworld rampant "showcase" but your editing and commentary are top tier. I never have sat through hour long factorio lets plays til now.
After 150hr I’m finally close to what Dosh showed in this video. I need part 2 now!
You reaching a similar point to them in 150 ish hours is insanely impressive. I bet it will take me 300+ hours to reach that point.
@@americankid7782it was a false alarm. I thought I was close but I was not scaled properly. Finally I reach the point where I reliably can create space, logistics and utility sciences (very) slowly but reliably. It only took me around 450hrs. Dosh is crazy
@ oof
@truly his skill is rampant. It’s to the point that im pretty sure his neurons work off of the rules of circuit signals and trains.
Honestly you are the most impressive Factorio video maker i've ever seen man. Your Ai's were pretty decent for helping out as well. I always enjoy seeing the crazy things you do.
I've been waiting for this for so long, haven't even watched the video yet but I know it's gonna be a banger!
I've waited so long for this, it is incredible how much time you put into a single video. Love ur content
Somehow I've rewatched everyone of your factorio videos over 3 times. love having them on in the background while working. Keep it up my man!
if someone sneezed somewhere back in time this man would make computer science videos instead
love the video
also would love to see you making a tutorial about basics in logic for factorio or basics of computers haha
He did only a few months ago
Honestly, you are crazy. Crazy in a good way. It's amazing how much work you pour into your videos and although I could barely call myself a factorio novice, I watched every minute of this and your other videos.
Keep it up! I'm looking forward to your next video
That was insane to watch. I can't believe there's more to this mod.
Thanks for your hard work, your work's quality is impeccable.
Dosh, you literally made my day by posting this.
All my love, keep being awesome dude.
I find it interesting to watch all those timelapse-ish videos about modpacks that I will never touch on. It was interesting and fun to watch. Keep it up, you and your AI friends!
I'm amazed and impressed each time by your dedication to condense these extremely long runs into "short" movies.
And when I red that this is only part one I wasn't even surprised.
Looking forward to the following parts
Is it just me, or is his first ship (The one he finds) really similar- looking to the Kestrel, from FTL?
That’s what I thought as well
It is the Kestrel
i freaking WISH i had enough dedication to beat something like this, let alone beat the base game XD
Same here I was like”wow this mod looks so fun I should do it!” Then I realised I’ve never beaten the game before 😂
Always happy to see a new video from you. Cant wait to first watch this once, then have it keep me company while i fall asleep for the next month.
Edit: its good at keeping me company while I sleep
This is an insane ratio of time invested to viewingtime. Thanks it's been a pleasure to watch :D
Amazing video, more of this series please!! Helps me regain a bit of sanity after playing this mod pack and realizing that I'm not taking forever to do anything lol
LOVE the cowboy bebop reference at the end!
After all this time you're still not done? Wow, that's insane!
I started a SpaceX run once, but quit after the first rocket. Looked like too much effort to start a new planet. After watching this, I'm kinda glad I did...
Looking forward to part 2!
You're going to end up making me retry this mod with friends again.
After 300 hours of playtime, we were only on the 2nd tier astrology science.
Dropping a like just for how long the video is, that’s how you know it’s gonna have so much content
Dude this is by far the coolest video I have every seen, thank you for taking the time to post it!
Wow, your content is incredible. Can't wait to see more from you, factorio or not!
I tried to get through space ex multiple times, and I never could because its too much for myself... love that I can experience it in your video, especially because we have a extremely similar playstyle
0:15 Oh hey, it's the Kestrel from FTL.
Good work deserves an algorith boost
I agree, but if it does these little converstations will be burried lol
Bro ... I love watching you. Makes me feel really stupid when I watch you casually programming a computer in factorio ... keep up the awesome work. I love watching you build this complicated things.
I love you bro seriously i have wanted a factorio series like this for so long but no one ever made it. You saw the opportunity and decided to put the work in yourself, i hope the fruits of your labor are bountiful
well worth the wait. fantastic content as always!
Can't imagine going through 100 hours of footage to edit it. You are a machine.
This is the first time i was able to watch a 1:20 hour long video on youtube without being bored and actualy enjoying it. I am also already feeling an abstinance for the second video, i really want to watch the next video
So I have been struggling so hard with this mod, and I am committed to finishing it no matter what. I am by no means good at this game but you, Trupen, and Nialus have been dropping videos that are actually teaching me this. I have yet to play with circuits but you have given me some confidence and insight into how they work and how to make some actual logic. I tossed my 50+ hour save of my first attempt, found a better starting seed, and your compact little electric/single mall popped me through the beginning of this so quickly. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can't wait to see the rest of this series!
i will never not be disappointed whenever dosh says 'coal train' and doesn't put up a PNG of Cole Train from gears of war
c'mooooon, just once, _please_
Kind of fun to watch this now and compare it to the DLC
Rant add, for anyone didn't know, The developer of Space Exploration mod worked or works for Space age DLC.
There's some statement from him. Space exploration is more detailed and complex to the generic space age DLC.
I haven't played the mod version but looks pretty good.
"If you come here to see optimal designs, you've come to the wrong place"
Still better designs than my spaghetti trash :P
Thanks for giving me a sneak peak of what to actually expect in SE, I was about to go in without the knowledge of circuits and would've most probably died from trying to get around logistical problems. It's been hard as is getting around them in vanilla! Guess I'll learn up circuitry before I try anything else
Great blend of simple humor, nothing over the top. Good Video!
I literally thought you'd been making factorio videos for years because the quality is so high, I love being able to watch one playthrough in one longer video and I really appreciate the effort it takes you to produce content like this.
It's incredible what Factorio modders have done with the game. 😁
Playing this multiplayer and having someone stay grounded as you go into space is worth more than a thousand arcospheres. By the way, have you figured out the pyramid puzzle yet? There's no info on that anywhere. That thing intrigues me the most.
tbh sounds like Stargate
@@salce_with_onion Are you saying we need James Spader to solve this?
Now being serious, yeah, I get the vibe of a portal opening at the end of the puzzle. That would be awesome!!
Yes. No matter how much time you spend preparing before launching, you will definitely, 100% sure, forget something.
Thanks for the great video!
Lol. Thanks to Factorio making Space Age official, I'm back to binge some good ol' dry humor Dosh!
This is a great video that simultaneously made me realise that I've played more than enough Factorio, but haven't _watched_ enough Factorio.
this is so uincredibly satisying. im enamored and impressed. i cant even.
this video brings joy to my heart
i like to imagen that a playthrough with my friends would look like this,
if my friends would play factorio, or even if i would have any friends
the inserters are my friends...
Your factorio videos are the best, it combines explanation, big bases, chill commentary without the dozens/hundreds of hours to watch.
Cant wait for the next one and watching this one far too often :D
So epic. Months of gameplay and weeks of montage in one video. You are avesome!
SpaceEx, for a mod that promise space exploration, the burner stage are so freaking long it burn (no pun intended) me out before I reach the meat of the game... Automated cargo rocket and get utility/production running kill me so dead inside...
This video convinced me and my friends to start a SE run…. But we are built different so we included rampant all factions on + rampant arsenal we are 50 hours in and just got arty up and running via space science great fun so far
Mod maker: "I wanna make a fun lil mod!"
Factorio Devs: "Neat idea, let's make it part of the game!"
Mod Maker: O_O
Great vid! Also, 53:16 made me spit out my drink laughing so plus points but also minus points, three thumbs up for this video!
That feeling when you're subbed to like 50 gaming and variety youtube channels and they've all dropped productivity to like 3 total new videos per day, across my entire sub feed... AND, you browse "Home" in desperation of anything good to watch that isnt just clickbait nonsense or vloggers reacting to other peoples content.
And you find this gem, look at the video length, look at the game and mod in question, and just lean back in your chair with a hot cup of tea at 11pm.
Thank you.
49:39 But playing Factorio while on drugs is something else. caution high throughput problems and spaghetti to nowhere.
