Watch The Pursuit Of Happyness (2006) Now: AAN.SonyPicture...
Will Smith stars in this moving tale inspired by the true story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman struggling to build a future for himself and his 5-year-old son Christopher (Jaden Smith). When his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) walks out, Chris is left to raise Christopher (Jaden Smith) on his own. Chris' determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one in twenty interns will make the cut. But without a salary, Chris and his son are evicted from their apartment and are forced to sleep on the streets, in homeless shelters and even behind the locked doors of a metro station bathroom. With self-confidence and the love and trust of his son, Chris Gardner rises above his obstacles to become a Wall Street legend.
You gotta give the receptionist props. Just saw him dressed like that and never thought twice about it
You SHOULD think twice
@@Xxrocknrollgod about what
From whats follows the moment she saw him we can say that she must be pretty used to crazy and wild behavior.
it's not her job to@@Xxrocknrollgod
Telling the truth is always better than trying to hide
Agreed 100%. Truth and Character go hand in hand.
Yes true the more you lie the more hard for you to keep up
So he should have told them he was homeless?
recent history has proven that to not be true.
@@jamesevans2507Being homeless doesn’t relate to your capability of doing great things.
Don't ever sell yourself short. Just because you're struggling or that you don't think you're smart enough doesn't mean you're worthless, you're worth more to them than they realize.
.............Just stop😒
@@StoicSurvivor99you stop
@@gingerisevil02 sentimental talk is not going to get his life together. Discipline will.
If you say so
i dont think peoples problem isnt thinking they are smart enough or worthless.. its having the confidence and ambition and also the means to make that step to do it, movies like this yes its based on a true story but i guarantee to you its exaggerated alot. life dont happen in an hour and a half.
When you’ve lost everything, you have that fire in you willing to go above and beyond to survive
Exactly, the drive, the hunger
This Movie is 10/10 , its an absolute Masterpiece.
Brilliant acting! The line between confident replies and nervousness were so well enacted. Especially when the interviewer asks his question, you could see in Will Smiths face the fear, that sinking feeling of something bad going to happen and nervousness! Yet he composes himself and responds in jest. Marvellous!!
Shame he became a SIMP
@@drakZes and a slapping one at that! Hahahahaha
@@drakZesI bet you're a liberal simp too aren't you?
The receptionist, seeing how he is dressed, is still a kind individual wishing him the best of luck! Which I think, was the difference maker.
And that anger of the zipper not catching, I felt that! Like of course everything is working against me!
Clap for the receptionist😊
That last answer oozes of extreme presence of mind 😂😂 superb movie
There’s a deleted scene where Smith slaps the shit out of the interviewer and is hired on the spot.
🤣 HAHAHA
I was about to really search for that…
I showed up to an interview with jeans, tshirt and fleece once and half way through the interview the guy told me every other candidate has had on a collar shirt and a tie. At that moment I started to think, "uh oh, here we go." He then said, because you don't, I think you may be the right guy for this job. He hired me. True story. Tech position.
I'm happy for you man. Keep going and keep growing
And then every one clapped
At the start of the Great Recession I was signed on at the job centre and it was full of guys in suits who had lost their high up managerial jobs and now they were applying for pretty much anything, but they weren't getting anywhere because they kept going to interviews for basic retail and warehouse gigs in their very expensive suits and ties. I must have seen job centre staff having the 'you look overqualified' conversation at least fifty times. To guys who had come to their five to ten minute job centre appointment in suits and carrying briefcases.
Tech position didn't care for a tie. As long as you know what to do and what must do you can easily get tech job (except for supervisor).
So he hired you on a whim because of your clothes instead of for your experience and skills? What a dumb boss.
I love the background music when he’s running
Same here, man.
It’s always important to make the interviewer laugh, I got my last job that way😂
the wholesome laugh from the old man at the end was everything. great response
I made the mistake of watching this movie at a cinema, when I came out of there my eyes were red from all the crying
You are soft
This is the exact same set used for Wolf of Wall Street just noticed this 😊
Definitely one of my favorite will smith movies
Now this is called confidence
Wearing a suit would boost his confidence because it would give him a sense of authority
Just because you wear something doesnt mean you are someone valuable
One of my favorite movie scenes in any of cinema.
He certainly slapped them in the face with that response
This whole scene I was on the edge of my seat felt as if he was going to jump over that table and slap them across there faces
When you work from home, you don’t even need pants!
Try this nowadays and they'll personally throw you out on the street
He literally gave his reasons for why he couldn't make it. it's not like he dressed like this on purpose
Actually, I showed up to an interview with jeans, tshirt and fleece once and half way through the interview the guy told me every other candidate has had on a collar shirt and a tie. At that moment I started to think, "oh crap, here we go." He then said, because you don't I think you may be the right guy for this job. He hired me. True story. Tech position.
Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth
Not everyone is like that , i mean obv that's true but there are bunch of scenarios where you can get the job man trust me .
Not at all, if you have qualities and character no one cares what you wear
This is a slapping good scene
Q: Now what would you say if someone came in without a shirt on and I hired him?
A: He must have a really powerful slap.
Tears come out when you watch this...
One of the best movies of Will Smith ❤❤❤
Will Smith is an excellent actor. I actually believe he could make a comeback if he wanted too.
Keep Will Smith's name out of your f*****g mouth! 😁
Where did he go?
Too go slap chris
@@markelcreek56 what u talkin bowt willis?
@@haveatyou1 There was the whole Oscar slap incident with Chris Rock which I wish people would let go and move on, Will Smith is an amazing actor and I want him to be in more amazing movies.
One of the greatest movies ever ..
"Is it dry now?" , " I hope so." Nice question and a nice answer.
Who ever wrote this is a genius. It's a shame people are connecting such a beautiful story with wills personal life.
It's not the writers fault that will would make a mistake 15 years later. This story is so powerful it deserves to be remembered for what it is regardless of anything in the real world.
Note to self have nice pants! Walk in without a shirt got it! Wish me luck
Couple with a winners mentality and a confident smile. Even if you're nervous. 😉
Not just nice pants, REALLY nice pants. Don't mess this up!
When you pick the best dialogue option
This is peak Will Smith acting career
I was this guy 12 years ago. was given a similar opportunity.
Who did YOU slap?
I love this scene
Are you black or white?
@@tgafvelinwhat does that have to do with loving this scene
@@BurgerBoy9001 . Maybe nothing, but I thought some black people find films like this one a bit degrading.
Like when white people are believing in a black man kind of story.
@@BurgerBoy9001 . It's that kind of movie.
Who like it more?
White or black people?
because of that answer which he knew how to get out off they gave him a shot... he demonstrated intelligence and the ability to get himself out of trouble.
These "slap" comments are getting old and irritating.
Have pity for those entirely lacking in imagination.
Tell me about it. 🙄

I have no idea how this movie didnt win Oscar
im on the pursuit of happiness
I hope you guys realize him sitting in the waiting room for the interview was the same way he sat in the waiting room for Men in Black lol
His look might be the very reason why they pay attention to him , its literally if what doesn't kill you makes you stronger was a person.
why didnt he just slap the guy for a job? lmaoo xD
And then Willy slapped him while saying, “ keep the name of my missing shirt out of your mouth.”
Imagine being able to walk into a building like that today without an id badge a sec badge a license five guards 40 cameras and yada yada
I was expecting Will to slap the laughter out of him.
Sometimes, separating yourself from the herd even if it makes you seem lesser, is the best way to go.
Has anyone made the "The Pursuit of Slappiness" joke yet?
I was, wore a big jagged hoodie once in my interview as graphic designer while everyone else is wearing formal attire. Im an Art Director now btw. Don't let anything hold you down when you can become something greater.
"😂 Hahaha... GET OUT 😐"
That is when you thru in yourself
Slaptastic😂
He should have had really nice pants 😂
GREAT MOVIE WILL SMITH 😂😊
Humor goes long way
He earned they trust like a pro...
Is this the "slap" guy?
Actors who play the good guy are usually unaware of good… check chapter 8 of your textbook for more info
Yes.
Applying for a videographer position in corporate and i feel it’s gonna come down to the interview. No degree or nothing and feeling like ima need to pull a rabbit out of the hat for them to take me in.
Just all raw experience through trial and error with resources through friends colleges and UA-cam.
Just slap them in the face until they hire you
Credentials and character always overrules dressing nice. But if you’re able, dressing nice never hurt. As we see here he dressed nice but when he got caught in a situation where he wasn’t his credentials and character shined.
Pursuit of happyness = high paid office job in the city 😂 lol
Do not recite the old scrolls to me I was there when they were being written
Where's that from?
Now , code one hard and medium coding question. Design youtube in 45 mins..😂
Running up hill in SF is no small feat
This dude ran to give an interview, and I didn't even attend mine (which was online)bcz i was too lazy to wake up early.
Imagine getting the job with no pants on.
I miss liking Will Smith 😢
Love the passion he harnesses from his sons homies all slamming his wife great preformance
Alguien podría ser tan amable de agregar subtitulos a este video por favor
This nowdays doesnt exist. Big company's always wants to hire a people with college degrees not a rugrats, Sad reality.
That's so cute. It's completely not real. He would have been stopped on the first floor and the security would have shown him the way out.
Any Scene i see with will i imagine him enter a room to not miss watching his wife getting her back broken.

You don't have money... you can't control your life without money... you will always run for money without knowing how to earn.... nice movie 🙏
Anybody who tells me they were in the Navy gets a job. Thats how it works.
Punch line was in the title and I still didn’t see it coming
Love it
At least he was fired or not hired just because his pants were not nice, without considering his quality as a job candidate or the quality of his job as an employee.
Lesson were taught through the pandemic. There is social change even in fashion. Dress code rules even in top of the line companies have changed to be in accordance with our times. Plus on your day off , or when you are not still an employee you can dress as you wish. Sometimes employees sacrifice their time off to carry boxes or do hard work like painting in comfortable clothing that could be damaged to keep their working nice clothing in good condition. Employees are not millionaires to dress like Kim Kardashian or J Lo on a workers salary.
He must have had really nice pants ❤❤❤❤. Look for the attitude, not the appearance.
You've sell you'reself at one point or some other
will smith is a great actor and he destroyed his career by being a complete clown. Never ruin your life over one silly decision
*Never ruin your life over a woman.
It wasn't one decision, it was many. The second you decide to stay with an unfaithful spouse ofcourse your life will be in shambles
He emasculated himself staying in a relationship with a bad woman that was no good for him.
@@thegreatpiginthesky3904 I imagine it just comes down to the sunk cost fallacy. Not only does leaving a spouse entail a lot of financial and familial risk, overly idealistic people would rather fight to maintain a bad relationship than look out for their own interests because they think /in for a penny, in for a pound./ People are too desperate for affection. They need to learn to be comfortable alone before they can have a good relationship.
He didn't ruin his career it was a ritual
Shorts and polo shirt now run $458 million a year business
thought he might slap them again
Slap
There is nothing better than truth in business relationships. Sure you can win once cheating but telling the truth will get you generational wealth.
At least he was Not fired because of his pants as a candidate or as an employee without considering the quality of his job future or past.
Dont miss this movie❤🩹
All time favorite💓
Notice the dude brings up highschool on his resume as if that really matters in the business world
My first job outside the Marine Corps. I had a fresh haircut, wore a full suit w/tie, and had shined shoes for a job in the oil field. The guy who interviewed me had jeans, pullover hoodie, and steel toe cowboy work boots.
He looked at my resume while he had his feet propped up on his desk. Said “Hmm hm………hmmmmmm…..(flips the page over on my resume)……..hmmmm…..your hired, go see the HR rep to fill out your W-4”.
I literally said nothing lol
He would have looked at your resume, saw military service meaning you knew how to take and give orders, saw that you weren't a shitbag as you were still making the effort even in civvie street, and probably thought you were a good prospect
@@SuperiorBrick It was all for nothing. I only lasted a few weeks, I got no training, and got very little when I asked for it, so I quit. Just ran up to the derrick when the horn is sounded just so the driller can say “Hey, pick up those cigarette butts”. “Hey, pick up that monster can and throw it away”.
Gotta respect the hustle but dont slap them bro
I always find it funny why Hollywood thinks random people make scuffing faces when someone with dirty clothes is entering the elevator. I have never encountered this LMFAO. People don't care so much you know
No slaps occurred in the making of this film.
I remember watching this movie in a class in high school I think it was financial litteracy because it had to do with money. I wasn't a fan of Will Smith back then.
Yeah.. this doesn't happen in real life, based on "true story" or not.
Liar
The pandemic has taught many lessons to everyone.
How? That charisma and a real "personality" that customers can identify with and develop a rapport with is even MORE vital today whether you're behind a computer screen ("without those nice pants on") or face to face when its very easy to lose the ability to gain or learn that "charisma" because separating oneself from people (working more from home) creates more of a detachment/barrier from easily becoming more comfortable around people to develop it as opposed to being front and center with your contemporaries/ customers on a daily basis.....especially in an industry like Chris' where you have to sell customers on the merits of the product(s) he's pitching....
Like what?
These days im pretty sure they wouldn't mind
