Watch The Pursuit Of Happyness (2006) Now: AAN.SonyPictures.com/ThePursui...
Will Smith stars in this moving tale inspired by the true story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman struggling to build a future for himself and his 5-year-old son Christopher (Jaden Smith). When his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) walks out, Chris is left to raise Christopher (Jaden Smith) on his own. Chris' determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one in twenty interns will make the cut. But without a salary, Chris and his son are evicted from their apartment and are forced to sleep on the streets, in homeless shelters and even behind the locked doors of a metro station bathroom. With self-confidence and the love and trust of his son, Chris Gardner rises above his obstacles to become a Wall Street legend.

I had a very similar moment after I opened up business after 5 years going back to school doing my volunteer work doing my part time job and my full-time job while taking care of my disabled father.
Just being able to open up shop and having the opportunity to finally sleep normal. And seeing business returns that you control and a reasonable work-life balance finally show up with a clean and safe apartment after moving out of a shithole with rats and cockroaches with a little savings to boot. It really does make you want to cry.

Every day, thousands of Americans go through that same range of emotions. Fear of being told no, the relief of hearing the good news, the elation that everything will work out now... Whether it's a new job, marrying the love of your life, welcoming a new child into the world, finding out you've done something others considered impossible.... it's a great feeling, and this mans story should be held up as an example: Yes, life is tough, it will beat you down at times, but if you can stick it out, push through the tough times... your perseverance will pay off.

This is one of my favorite scenes of all time from any tv/movie/media. How relatable it is for everyone who has ever been through the struggle and made it out the other side. Tgat something as mundane as a job offer can mean so, so much. Can validate all the hard work, sacrafice, the utter loneliness, and how terrifying that fear of failure can be when failure means you can't eat. To everyone who's experienced this kind of joy, I, too, am happy for you in your success. To those who aren't there yet, stay strong! I'm rootin for you.

I think it's vool that Will looks like an extra when he walks out to the crowd. He's having the most profound life changing moment of his life, after years of struggle, and he's just one of many. If you were one of those people on the sidewalk you might glance over and ask, what's up with that guy, and go about your business. You never know the stories and struggles of those around you.

Four years of tears, having two jobs, missing many things with my children, feeling tired and exhausted all the time. 4 years of not having a day for myself, 4 years of struggle, hardships, not being able to make it to parties, reunions, and many times not even having time to eat. Thank God all mighty

I had lost my job in 2014 it was admist a very difficult time.. I was going through emotional turmoil and losing the Job didn't help... I went for an interview for a different organisation and at that time that was my only Hope as no one would offer me even as much I was making in my last company.. I remember waking up, having just a cup of coffee and riding to this place.. Nervous to bones.. Somehow things went my way... After about 2.5 hours of different rounds 14 of us out of 100 were called in a meeting room and were handed our 'Opportunity to Employment' letters as the initial offer only ce after submitting some paper work.. I didn't speak a word to anyone.. I went to the parking and cried.. It's been 10 years I am still with the Same organisation.. This scene is so close to my Heart

    - how proud the managers are of chris as he walks out, they’re all standing there watchihg him thru the glass
    - when he gives chris back his $5!!! 😥😰😩 that $5 was SUCH a sacrifice for chris, speaking to the MANY he made to make a lasting impression as in intern
    - when he says “would you like that chris?” like a proud father (which i always saw that particular manager as from day 1 when chris came in with paint & he asks “how has he dressed when you saw him before?”)
    - chris being so pumped with adrenaline & nerves he can’t pick anything up without shaking/dropping it 🥹
