Wow! I just found your channel and you just solved my problems! the throttle and governor linkage video along with the carburetor overhaul video were so helpful! Thank you!
Wow !! This clears up a huge mental fog as to why I could not get an old recently purchased B@S engine running right . Got to order a spring , got to free up a stuck throttle plate. Can't thank you enough .
I gave it a thumbs up but giving a quiet booo. The missing governor spring is what I was looking to see, lol. Working on a tiller I purchased repowered and rigged. It was shade tree engineered without the Tree, shade, or engineering for that matter. good vid.
aha, the spring on the front that attaches to the idle stop screw is missing on mine and the governor spring is holding the throttle plate wide open. So I just need to fab a spring like yours and I should be ready to try running it.
GREAT Video I have a 8hp briggs and when it gets warmed up good ,, it starts sputtering. If I move the governor back and let it catch up, it will run but when the load is on it ,, it will start sputtering again. Then I can turn it off and wait about a half hour and it will run good again until it gets hot. Do have any suggestions? Thanks
Just found your channel and appreciate your vids. You are very knowledgeable with these engines. I have a model 19 like this one and was wondering if the Model 19 has a secondary governor spring and how to hook it up . Thanks.
The old 8 horse I/C on the Roof mower still runs like a Swiss watch as do all the 'L' heads but the 4 horse on the Snapper. The governor setup is 2 piece with one hooked to the shaft and a 1/4 inch bolt through the arm slot that goes to the carb. I turned it all the way to the right but the bottom fitting hooked to the shaft is in a notch in the case and can't move. That made it worse. It has an auto choke without the vacuum deal. It's on the breather hose going into the carb from the crankcase. I'm going to have to move it back because it runs plumb crazy the way it is now. It's a 110902-391101-85040404. I have no idea what to do but what I did. Thanks and good video. The square nylon green slider is the one I had to drill to hook the throttle back to the 11 horse on the old Craftsman., Pick me one!
@@fnaguitarplayer9 I put it back where it was and it runs o.k. Maybe I just need to rev it up a little but it just putters along. Oh well. Live and learn. Thanks! Maybe I can send you a shot of it. LOTS of rain on the way for here. Get ready to hide out for a bit and GBWYall!
I have a 10 hp 1975 model. I have springs on the governor and throttle but o can't get the throttle to work properly. I'm wondering if something with the governor is broke inside? No matter where I set the governor I just can't find that sweet spot to make it idle and throttle up. It just seems to wanna run fast
Can you make a video on how you would hook up a throttle cable to this excact engine only one I could find that's same as mine I undid it and like idiot didn't take pics or anything now I can't figure it out mine has the plastic slider piece like this one on my 78 manco quester 308 3 wheeler would appreciate it thanks
someone might stumble on this some day...I haven't seen anybody talk about how to set that governor adjustment knob this model has on it. I have an 8hp briggs on an old woodchipper that has that knob on it and basically the tension it puts on the plastic sliding piece keeps it from moving all together even when I move the throttle on the carb. I have no idea if this should be the case. anyone who know please chime in. thanks
Good evening sir I have one Coleman 4000 w generators and I have a Coleman 5,500 6500 watt generator. Both generators are putting out with on outlets 120 to 125 Hertz is running about 60 about 62 HZ and 240 is running about 240 and with about 62 Hertz. Trying to run a small welder stick and a hundred amp MIG welder with them hard time starting an arc and keeping the art going if I use regular household plug in have no problem with the welders I hope you can help me out with my problem do not want to go home by another welder find out it does the same thing thank you Steve
I have a 1972 3 HP Briggs/Stratton Model # 80232... I'm seeing leaking oil near the crank case. I figure I need to replace seals and should just replace the gaskets and do a carb kit on it. I can;t seem to find parts for these jobs. Any guiance on where I can find the parts I need?

You not only explained exactly what was where and how it worked but you showed it as well, thanks.
