*The HTC One M7 is one of my favorite smartphones I'VE ever owned. Sharp LCD Display, Incredible aesthetic with the appeal of the BOOMY front-facing speakers. It would've been a top 5 ALL time in the 2010s era if:*
    - They envisioned the ultrapixel a smarter way, and used it in the FRONT instead of the back (like we see in the 10).
    - Used some way of software pixel binning and used a higher resolution count for normal daytime use, and binned down for more light/clarity at night (Sony did this back then)
    - *Heat.* I don't know about you guys, but my M7 often got so hot, I, unfortunately, had the purple fringe problem down the road.
    - Battery life was never good, only subpar, but didn't mind it with the first HTC One. It progressively got worse with its successors though..
Other than that, man, I wish I hadn't given my phone away to a relative..I even had it S-OFF, which was hard to do lol.

Great video! I remember the HTC One (M7) was the first mobile phone that caused me to switch from the iPhone to Android. I was so enamored with the design of this phone and the speakers. I thought it was, hands down, the best looking smartphone I'd ever laid eyes on. And I believe it sill is one of the most beautiful mobile devices ever made even by 2024 standards! And the speakers back then bliew me away! And I believe they still hold their own to this day! Thank you for a nice trip down memory lane. BTW, I still have a brand spanking new M7 now in my vintage phone collection. I'll pull it out every now and then and you know what? It's still one of the best feeling handsets to hold EVER!

I had the sprint one and loved it, just had everything I needed and did it well with no issues. Excellent battery life, badass headphone amp on the 3.5 jack, the speakers sounded better than my tv and the screen was bright and beautiful, the software was smooth and fast, it’s like they cared about the experience of the phone both with hardware and software, the keyboard was perfect, the radio modem made having sprint actually a good experience being so high end at the time, the camera wasn’t the best but acceptable, I still have it but it’s falling apart and barely boots cause how old the battery is

My mother died young and before she died I had the HTCM8. She modeled for a photo shoot for me and she used some very beautiful dresses. Having a full manual control, the M8 was wonderful for getting all kinds of different shots at really any angle. Yes I did not like the four megapixels but, when the photos were printed, they came out amazing. Really the only time the four megapixels was a problem was when cropping in. Outside of that, she was never happier with the photos. Especially since some of them thanks to HTC being able to take full resolution photos before hitting the shutter button by cashing the photos, which mind you even modern phones, don’t do cashing with full resolution, but thanks to that, I even managed to get some sneaky shots of her , as she was making decisions on how to pose and what props to use. And because it were natural photos, since I didn’t have time to really think, they came out amazing. The camera was amazing even nowadays it still holds up as long as you don’t crock and you don’t Need to blow the image up. Let’s face it, most people don’t even print images much less print them large. If they print, it’s usually going to be a 2 x 3 or a 4 x 3. The rest of the time they put them on social media and social media is always around 3 to 4 megapixels. so all you get is a compressed kind of potato version of what the HTC gives you. HTC gives you four clean megapixels and Facebook will give you four potato pixels lol.

That cold touch in the morning feeling a solid built smooth and beautiful piece of art that happened to also offer the best available. I got the HTC Magic as it was the first Android handset for sale where I live, I think I used it for two years before it was practically unusable due to the undersized amount of RAM. I'm happy Andrioid is a more stable plaform now allowing us to use the same hardware for several years now. It was sad seeing HTC lose its market shares because the build quality was very high all over the range.

I LOVE this phone and I still have it and use it. I’m with you when you say this was one the best Android devices. This phone is my alarm because the speakers are SO loud; not even my iPhone will wake me up 100% of the time. Plus, the IR blaster?! It’s also my TV remote because the one that came with my TV broke. I wish HTC would come back with a device like this.

This phone, just like Nokia 3310, has a special place in part of my tech heart, not only because I won it as a prize, but it was a masterpiece holding it in a hand.

first smartphone I owned and it's still my favorite. It was comfortable to hold, had great ergonomics, amazing speakers, and a gorgeous design. Only problems I encountered were camera issues and it got incredibly hot when using google maps. I wish HTC would release a "legacy" line with the same external design, but updated specs.

My favourite phone of all-time. I can't see myself ever loving a phone as much as I loved the M7, it was just so good (apart form the battery!)

Between iPhones, this is the only Android phone I ever loved.
    Built like a tank!
I accidentally dropped /threw it while riding my bike... - very much like that ultimate drop / stress test that CNET did... Which is why I bought it in the first place.
(Because I really, REALLY hated the fact that the iPhone 4S had a glass backplate.
That backplate literally broke in the first week, when my cat pushed it off an 80cm high cabinet and it landed on the laminate flooring)...
That M7 landed on its corner on the concrete, and it was fine.
    The display was amazing too.
Perfect combination between size and screen resolution.
And the camera was good (for me) - good in low light. AND the first smartphone camera I had seen that produced proper slow motion video!
The 'blink feed' part worked a little like the message center on my Blackberry Bold 9780.
Which is something I miss to this day.. That message center made me so much more productive..
And the speakers were just great.
That Beats algorithm worked very well.
(Plus, I think they really tuned the EQ to the capabilities of the speaker cones. They went LOUD and bass-rich and clear)
This phone was way ahead of its time.
the curved back was both ergonomic, and - looking back with current knowledge - I think it allowed for the bigger camera sensor, having the lens a bit further away.
so there was very little deformation near the edges of the photos and videos.

I had that phone and absolutely loved it. But when the update came the camera turned purple when it was dark. But than I leant it to a family member and completely forgot about it. Told the person to take care of it but then about three or four months later I found the protective OtterBox case broken outside but no phone to be found. I was truly upset they didn’t take care of that phone.

This is the phone that made me switch to Android back in the day. The sound was incredible. I remember working in a factory the summer I got it and being able to play music over the whole factory floor with it. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with the camera compared to my iPhone at the time, and switched back to Apple a year later. Didn't come back to Android until the Pixel 2

One M7 was actually inspired by Sensation XL by HTC powered by Beats!!! Voila I had all 3 besties from HTC - S-XL, M7 and the 1st dual camera - short live video setup M8 - Spectacularly made for Android. I bet Google should be proud.

I loved my M7. When I moved 2 years ago I lost it ...I left my heavy sectional leather sofa as it wouldn't fit in my camper. I have a feeling it was in there. I looked but that damn couch ate everything. I found my bricked M8 and fixed it months back. I couldn't believe how well it runs even today. Camera still shows it's age but. I was so excited I made a video about it. Hahahahaha. I am not a phone channel. But I use phones for recording videos. On guitar. Hahah. Shows how some of these devices film in low light and etc. How well they record audio in a camper. Hahaha.
