Hey everyone! Remember to keep the comments free of any spoilers of future episodes for Mosco. Have fun & be creative with fake spoilers! Also, make sure we’re keeping the comments cool & comfortable for everyone here. Enjoy the reaction y’all!!!
I bet not policing people and telling others what to do would promote a cool and comfortable environment. If someone wants to request something, how about letting them do it themselves?
@@letolethe3344 1st of all, making a request & commenting something that is not related to the video is considered extremely rude. 2nd, best to wait for Mosco to put out a poll in a community post to see & vote what she’ll react to next. & 3rd, no one is policing anything but as a moderator I and others moderate the comment section & help out Mosco to make sure everyone is having a good time talking about the show that was just reacted too.
tbf, Michael Sheen himself is their biggest shipper. And Neil Gaiman explicitly called their relationship "a love story"
But also, it's not particularly right to call their relationship gay. I mean, it's just ...love? Cause they don't really have gender or orientation, there was told Crowley doesn't mind to wear woman body sometimes (and Aziraphale could too but he's a person of habit, prefers less changes), and I seriously think it's something deep and beautiful but mostly platonic, because of their nature themselves. Connection soul to soul.
Actually there was stressed mocking line in the book about Aziraphale giving absolutely gay impression while not being one, cause this termin just means really little for creatures his kind
@@sungunner6244 People often use the term "Gay" to describe general queerness (Even if it normally means male x male relationships), and, since they're neither male nor female, their relationship would qualify as a queer relationship, hence so many people calling it a gay love story despite neither of them being cis males or anything
But also tbf, Michael Sheen ships himself with David IRL, too 😂
I mean - they are NOT creatures of sexuality, but what is a romance if not a friendship going extra mile..?
@@sungunner6244 If we're going to be literal, then it's not love either. It's all imaginary; none of it is real. That's why people talk about it in terms of how it reads in context of real life.
“This is so gay”.
I mean, there’s a reason why the fandom refers to them as “the ineffable husbands”.
"is it just me?" haaaahahaha welcome to the fandom, we've been shipping it since the 90s
You are so right. I was totally shipping them from the moment I read the book.
@@ViviFuchs Haha same! I first read it in middle school and they've stuck with me ever since~
Same!
I graduated in 94 and remember reading the book when I first left home and writing my HS bestie on paper with a pen about the magnificence with a nod at the queer subtext of Crowley and Aziraphale BACK WHEN EVEN TALKING ABOUT QUEER SUBTEXT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
Then I had to lick a f’ing stamp and send a physical letter by sea or pelican or whatever the f we did in the nineteen hundreds. I don’t even need to describe the noises that burst from within when a teaser for this series came up with DAVID behind the wheel of Crowley’s face.
I love seeing new fans.
@@ProdigalDaughterAlice gosh, both Terry and Neil write really good romances.
My favorite pairing from Terry's work is Adora and Moist from Going Postal and my favorite pairing from Neil's work is Yvaine and Tristan from Stardust.
Also, I love how their writing styles intertwined to create this masterpiece.
@@ViviFuchsso true
To quote Elijah's thoughts on this episode: "Gays are so dramatic for the record. They have a breakup without ever actually being together." I love to see someone falling for this ship in real time. Also, Michael Sheen, the guy who plays Azira has said Crowley saving the books is the moment when Aziraphale realized he was in love with him, and you can tell.
Oh my gosh thats ADORABLE!!!!! Thanks for the super comment Dan!
Fun fact- in the commentary, Neil Gaiman (the writer) revealed that Michael Sheen (Aziraphale) said that he believes Crowley saving Azi’s books in the church was the moment Azi realized he was in love with Crowley. So depending on how you want to look at it, Aziraphale either fell in love with him in that moment, finally realized that’s actually what he’d been feeling for Crowley for all those years, or had already known he had feelings for Crowley but that was the moment he finally realized Crowley felt the same.
EDIT: It was the crucifixion!!! I'm a dum dum whoops
Fun fact: in the Noah’s Arc scene, Crowley is a woman! They’re canonically genderfluid (as are most demons and angels) and thee were actually a few cut flashback scenes (which weren’t important to the main story and were likely cut due to time constraints) where both she and Aziraphale are fem-presenting 🥰
And let's not forget his years as nanny of Warlock:)
Yeah, where'd you get that information? Because no one has any idea how women dressed at that time in history.
@letolethe3344 The crucifixion is when Crowley was a woman, you can tell by the clothing style. Crawley's gender wasn't specified at that time of the Ark.
@@letolethe3344 There are actually lots of sources about how people dressed in most times in history. We don't know everything, and our knowledge is very likely incomplete or wrong in many aspects, but it's just complete nonsense to say that no one has any idea how women dressed.
It truly is remarkable how Michael Sheen manages to make his eyes contort into literal heart shapes.
Michael Sheen my be my favorite actor of all time. He's so good in everything, and looks like he's having the time of his life in every role.
For all we know he put that on his resume when he auditioned for the role lol
I love the detail of Crowley saying, "How long have we been friends? 6,000 years."
Since their meeting in the Garden of Eden, Crowley has always considered Aziraphale his friend.
Episode 3 always makes people ship it. Without fail.
Failed with me. But I’m aromantic and also don’t ship.
@@brianl8481I'm also aromantic but it definitely didn't fail me
@@Lilithlysame lol
I showed this series to my mom and it took her the whole 1st season to finale at the end ask me, "do they have a thing for eachother?" Like yes mom. Yes.
Imma say that Mosco is Crowley and Elijah is Aziraphale.
Also can't wait for the scene when Crowley's car turns into a police box.
Mosco wouldn't even need to wear a wig for them to do a cosplay lmao
The bloke who was going to help Crowley with the Church Heist in 1967 was a young Sergeant Shadwell! ❤
I'm pretty sure he even says his name, right?
@@AnnekeOosterink He does yes. But it's easy to miss unless you've watched the series dozens of times (not that I would know...cough, cough!) 😂😂
I cant wait for Mosco to get to the episode where Aziraphale tearfully sells his books to get Crowley a surprise wedding ring
Omg he would so do that tho😭😭😭❤
I love how it’s almost a universal response that anyone watching this will be like “oh yeah it’s pretty gay” and then episode three rolls around and it’s like “oh, oh they’re married”
There's a line from the novel that sums up their working arrangement perfectly. Something along the lines of "realizing they have more in common with their immediate opposition than they do with their distant superiors."
Welcome to the fandom! Buckle up!
My boyfriend to me watching episode 1: you know there’s people that ship these two?
Me: nah they’re just good buddies clearly.
Both after episode three: NOW KIIIIISSSSSS!!!
A ship? Please, there's an Ark! Two of everything, and I do mean everything.
Omg this comment is genius
I can't wait for the demon banishing finger gun to make an appearance.
You seem surprised at Crowleys ability to do good.
By his own admission, He didn't so much fall from heaven, he sauntered vaguely downwards.
I mean the book and the ship's been around since the 90s, I'm not surprised there's so much fanfiction.
As someone who's never been able to keep up with how much there is, I honestly thought it would be more 😅
Crowley, liking his best friend and room-mate, *may* have gone a little too far, and miracled Macbeth into THE most famous of Shakespeare's plays..
Hamlet.
Funny you should mention destiel because this ship absolutely goes in the same direction, in that halfway through the second season they become canon but only in the french dub
Oui, oui, monsieur Rossignol 😅
I appreciated the level of intelligence and humour in this fake spoiler!!! 10/10!!!
@@WeeLassReacts lol thank you
Michael Sheen has said Aziraphale first realized he was in love with Crowley when he saved the books.
mosco the whole time: i know what you two are
In the next episode, Crowley gets sexy spanks to try to tempt Azzy to shake it to the dark side which is really just the neutral side. Biting his lip, Azzy concedes and they slay without slaying the innocents on the catwalk of life, the universe, and everything!
What really bad ai model did you use to produce that poppycock?
@@letolethe3344 I'm an AI?! I knew I was adopted! Lol 😜
Wowee😍 pls write a fanfic mate, ur a born poet
@@lillyf973 Awww thank ya lol I don't think I'm that good ;)
Bimble Off to Woo-Woo Land should be an album.
By the Fatty Spliffers 🤣
@@Miroslava_Ivanova Oh, yes!
The fandom’s Ship Name for Crowley and Aziraphale is Ineffable Husbands btw
I see your joke about Crowley keeping Aziraphale on his toes. 👀😂
14:25 110% not just you. I'm convinced the words 'You go too fast for me' show up in at least 40k of the (currently) 63k Aziraphale/Crowley fics on AO3.
"The li'l demi-wee-mon!" You've come a long way from cringing in physical pain whenever something cute appears on screen. XD
I’ve shipped them since I first read the book at 12 years old, welcome to the club 😇❤️😈
I read it while in high school, so I was a little older, but same hat none the less.
I think it’s funny that both Aziraphale and Crowley have been fudging the paper work and working together for hundreds of years. They were able to do that because their bosses didn’t keep a close eye on them. However, they both do the same this when it comes to Sergeant Shadwell and the Witch Finder Army. Shadwell says he has an army working for him and they both just take his work for it.
One of the themes of Good Omens is that opposite sides are often a lot more similar to each other than they realise. Heaven and Hell both really want their war, Aziraphale and Crowley are supposed to be enemies but aren’t, Madame Tracy and Sergeant Shadwell are both mostly harmless frauds and Anathema and Newt both had expectations put on them both others because of who their ancestors were.
Fake spoiler: there are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse but there are also the OTHER four Horsemen, who are just some random dudes. This is a fake spoiler because they were cut from the show for time but they are in the book.
Something you should know. Good Omens season 1 was originally just good omens and based on the book of that name written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Season 2 was written after his Terry Pratchett's death by Neil Gaiman and another author who specializes in crime and detective novels so its a very different tone.
S2 also serves as a bridge iirc, using ideas both Neil and Terry had (With of course more of Neil for obvious reasons) for S3, which will have more ideas that both of them had together for future stories with these two, so I expect S3 will feel a bit more like S1, while S2 was more a somewhat "calm before the storm", establishing the ineffables relationship together more
I forgot who said this but humans didn’t know what 👼 were until someone overheard Crowley calling azi angel sometime through history and thought that’s a wonderful term of endearment thus couples started calling each other angel from then on ❤
The God who flooded everything? To be fair, that was the thing that was about to happen in that sequence.
Yeah, plus in this universe Sodom and Gomorra got destroyed as well, so I'm assuming we're going with the biblical god who regularly genocides and kills. Who may or may not have changed her ways since then. It's no wonder the angels are all so gung ho about going to war.
My heartstrings have been plucked, pulled, strung into a guitar and played! Love this show, and the book was part of my discovering about different presentations of gender, sexuality, and relationships!
When it comes to the ineffable husbands, it's not so much subtext as text in an almost indistinguishably smaller font then the normal text.
The 6000 year slowburn! ❤ and the gazebo breakup 😢
It's interesting, how Gaiman writes Shakespeare's success as the result of supernatural intervention, every time it comes up... have you watched The Sandman, yet?
It's an old school slash fandom, like, the book was huge even before the tv show happened.
Oh you’re gonna LOVE season 2 for several reasons!
And not like season 2 for just one reason only😓
Damn it’s crazy how Crowley is a fallen angel but Az is a risen demon
Prepare for lots of fraternising
Mosco looking up AO3 ineffable slashfic is hilarious 😅
"I 'fraternize' with my girlfriend all the time." Yes, we know, we were all there for the livestream where you and Elijah spent five full minutes talking about all the places you've "fraternized" and the mods had to cool you both down 😂
😅😅😅
DIED at the the destiel name drop
"We fratenise ALOT" MOSCO 😂😂😂
Fun fact:
It was during writing the scene in the church when Neil Gaiman decided that Crowley's role should be played by David Tennant. It apparently was the only actor he could think of to play "the consecrated ground" part in a funny, but not grotesque way, with enough swagger and charm.
Also, Neil needed to have a very awkward conversation over dinner with Michael, where both of them wanted to say to the other that they want Michael to be Aziraphale (and not Crowley, as was discussed previously). Allegedly they both danced around the subject like the couple that want to break up, and blurted it together at the end of the meal.
neil gaiman and terry pratchett wrote the book, so its definitely going to be unique.
You won't believe it when Charlie Morningstar turns up
"Me and my girlfriend fraternize all the time" 👀👀
Yaaaaaas we're here for the ship! I believe it's called 'Ineffable Husbands' at least on A03 with a ton of fanfics lol
I am SO looking forward to how you'll react to the other witches the occultist will call as backup! When adam becomes the target of a witch hunt- pun fully intended- it gets genuinely tense! Especially when Dog becomes one of the casualties.
why would you ruin the bit with Dog?? spoilers ruin everything!
17:50 lol. I wiggled my eyebrows the line just as you did that.
2:25 Disappointed you didn't react to the unicorn
I can’t wait for her reaction to the scene where Azzy and Crowley fuse Steven-Universe style to defeat Double Satan
Why spoil things?
This is still my favourite episode, I have rewatched the Bastille and the church scenes so, so many times 😅
Also, I love how everyone is always shocked when this ep gets to the intro (I was, too 😅)
Ah, even now the bandstand divorce still stings 😅
Can't wait for more reactions 😊
*me literally smoking my fatty spliffins about to bimble off to woowoo land rn:* hey! i'm already in america!
Welcome to the shipping part of the fandom ❤😊🤗😁🤗😊❤ we love the Ineffable Husbands.
When you see Aziraphale reading the prophecies, one of them that shows up on screen s "He is not what he says he is"- I didn't catch that the first time, but maybe that prophecy made Azi distrust Crowley?
That prophecy comes up in the last episode and relates to Newt and Anathema.
@@letolethe3344 but maybe azi think it was about them?
I had watched that Shakespeare scene like 10 times until it dawned on me that Crowley most likely cheated with the coin throw. 🤣
Apparently Crowley did rig the coin toss, but he rigged it so that he would lose in order to spare Aziraphale the trip.
Spoiler (fake ?) : Crowley really takes the breakup badly and goes into a demonic rage burning down Aziraphale's bookshop and Aziraphale then sets fire to Crowley's Bentley in revenge - which I think was a bit out of character but he really loved his books.
The episode then ends with Crowley in despair staring at the thermos of holy water.
Anathema meanwhile warned by Agnes' prophesies tries to defend herself from the witchfinder by causing his car to crash.
The four horsemen then meet up at a cafe where Elvis is flipping burgers but famine gets into an argument with him - Death then tries to intervene in the argument and causes Elvis to drop dead on the spot. A police detective then turns up to investigate the unexpected death bringing along her associate a Mr Morningstar.
Aziraphale didn't burn the bentley on purpose! When he was jumping out of the window to escape the fire a stack of burning books fell behind him. A couple fell into the car. But Aziraphale hit his head when he landed and didn't come to until it was too late to save the bentley. He probably could have done a miracle still, but, I dont know... Maybe he WAS mad about the bookshop. But letting it burn is different from intentionally buring it.
Welcome to the ineffable husbands fandom 😂
The actors became best buddies from this and during the pandemic, they made a zoom series called Staged. :)
Episode 3 is the best, with it's 'history of Aziraphael and Crowley' opening.
It's so funny that the show writers took the Tumblr generated ship of these two and made it cannon.
"You go to fast for me, Crowley."
I was dead.
You're gonna explode when Crowley and Aziraphale move in together! I can hear the squeals in my head already!
If you think that Shadwell is infuriated, you just wait until season 2!
Crowley and Aziraphale are a canon ship. It was there in the book, Neil Gaiman was very clear that they are in love, it's plain as day.
EDIT: Terry Prachett was the co-author of the book. He would insist you don't take it too seriously.
Oh Mosco, you wonderful gem. You have no idea. There are a lot of similarities in the Heaven/Hell dichotomy between Good Omens and Supernatural (I'm convinced the Supernatural writers must have pulled from the Good Omens novel but I have no evidence to support that) but this is nothing like Supernatural's queerbaiting. The gay is fully canon and intentional here and it is wonderful.
Actually, Eric Kripke said that he based Supernatural's angels and demons on Good Omens and the difference in pronunciation of Crowley/Crow-ley was because GO was only a written story before he created Supernatural and he didn't know how Neil intended the pronunciation.
I can't wait until you get to the finale when Jesus comes down and turns out to be Adam's age and the two fistbump and fight God and the Devil together
Oh, in the Globe Theatre scene, there was supposed to be an audience, but I think they would have gone over-budget (or had no lines written for extras?) No, definitely the money thing! 😄😉
They also were only given a very short amount of time to use the Globe theater which didn't give them enough time to get all the extras they wanted, so I believe Neil had to tweak the scene a bit to make it work.
I'm still terrified what the consequence of Crowley's deal with Mephistophel for Aziraphael will be, I wish Maphistophel will be nice.🥺
Mosco, where did you get the Angel Dust jumper??
cant wait for you to see the beach episode where the husbands run around the beach having a lovely time splashing each other with water 😂😂
Crowley looking sexy and cool in his modern swim trunks and Aziraphale in his early 1900s Beach wear. Very fanservice-y episode, but I ldid like it!
I really can't wait to see Moscos reaction to the world saving dance of in the series 1 finale
This is the episode I've been hungriest for. I adore these two but wonder if they'd seen cuter if I was British!
Keep in mind that Raven/Famine's MEALS™ scheme is right out of the book. From 1990.
In real life there have been a number of attempts to produce food which contains zero calories to supposedly aid with dieting. A fat substitute Olestra which provided zero calories was approved by the FDA and used in some products in America and for a time had a label warning about diarrhoea (anal leakage) being a side effect. Also some of the artificial sweeteners used to replace sugar can cause diarrhoea in some people.
Crowley and Aziraphale are gonna play among us and both get imposter. Crowley kills in front of Aziraphale and Az reports it immediately to tell everyone Crowley did it.
In chat:
- Crowley! You can't just kill someone like that!
- I didn't do it
- You did! I saw you and it's wrong!
- WRONG?! It's a game, Angel! IT'S WHAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO DO!
- But it's wrong :(
Crowley gets voted out and someone calls another meeting. Aziraphale gets voted out and the crew has won. Later that day Az gets pushed against a bookshelf by a certain angry demon. You can imagine the rest yourelf 😉
This is giving major llamas with hats vibes
Tbh if Crowley was a little more evil, they more or less would just be Paul and Carl from llamas with hats
Our fake spoilers should just be the plot descriptions of different fanfics
I feel the need to say that nuclear power is actually very environmentally friendly, especially compared to fossil fuels. Kyle Hill has a lot of videos debunking common myths and negative associations around it. It would definitely only be a part of climate change reversal- it takes too long to properly set up a nuclear power plant to be the primary solution- but it’s very good as a long term investment in keeping the planet healthy. It has the potential to be dangerous, but it’s one hell of a lot safer than what we’ve been doing.
Oh so very cute! X3 This show needs more love XD
There's been at least 3 _Good Omens_ reactions starting up in a very short span of time, so (fun fact!) I've written basically the same comment 3 times in about 4 or 5 days.
The comment in question: friendly heads-up to watch (or at the very least listen to) the end credits for the Season 1 finale. You'll understand why when you do.
_[Also, just in case: no, this is not a fake Spoiler. It's too vague to be one anyways.]_
In the book it's aziraphale who ask crowley to kill the adam. And then he almost do it. It didn't work
I'm so happy you're reacting to this series :DD
The episode where we see the origins of Aziraphale's rescue kink and the 6000 year courtship of an angel and a demon (and apparently when you lose it over camera angles, understandable because yes, those are all very nice)
14:25 Yeah, no, that phrase was one that was used to emotionally incapacitate the ineffable husbands shippers (aka the entire good omens fandom) and sparked so many fandom emotions
18:57 I love Uriel's makeup
20:16 Yeah, I would also think like food deserts
21:52 Yeah, you'd think so, wouldn't you 😭instead the husbands have a breakup!
I didn't sign up for the level of angst this fandom brought into my life, first this breakup, then Crowley's discorportation, then the whole thing with Dog, I mean seriously show?!
Don't become too happy about the Nuclear Plant. In the next episode Adam replaces all wind turbines with Christmas puddings causing a collapse of the UK energy grid but it helps Crowley with Head Office when he replaces the lost energy with coal power.
Morgan: I’ve maybe, possibly, perhaps been getting vibesss…🏳️🌈?
Mosco: THIS IS SO GAY 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
14:41 - not getting turned on by camera angles again *looks around surreptitiously*
21:55 - swoons over cinematography
It's funny Crowley magicking Hamlet to become a successful play as David Tennant gave imho one of the best Hamlet performances in 2009 and Michael Sheen also performed the role to high critical acclaim in 2011.
Woohooooo! Good Omens :D
Mosco i CANNOT wait for you to get to the the end season 2 😭
Random fun facts hb th ark n th gay horse's sequence, cause yes. That unicorn-stuff, w/out its mate, is actually a canon thing in some versions of th biblical story of noah n th ark. Ooh, let me try a fake spoiler. OK: in an upcoming episode, David Tennant plays a dual role as Crowley and the 14th Doctor from Doctor Who. The funny bit is that Crowley refuses to believe that this other guy looks like him at all despite Aziraphale continually mixing them up. Hilarity ensues. (Uhhh... for some reason or other one of them has changed their hair color. Probably the Doctor since he's always wanted to be ginger.)
Welcome to the fandom. Lmfao
In the final episode of season two they have segs
Laughs nervously
Azeracrow are sutch husbands❤
8:51 lol
I look forward to you reacting to the second season as well. :)
Good Omens is the second time I've seen DEATH wasting time in playing an arcade game. Which isn't alot but the fact it has happened twice in ones life could make it a concern. And when it comes to 'hellish punishment' and what not...Well, lets just say one of Crowley's rare occasions of submitting paper work to the 'home office' was just a copy of the computers "Users Terms And Agreements" with just a sticky note that said "learn guys".
