What armour are you using in this video
I started out using the meteorite staff and it carried me to around midgame, once around the lyndell city I had switched it for Lusats glintstone staff but you can also use carian scepter if your FP isn’t high enough. Generally these are the ideal staffs for pure intelligence but if you managed to get your INT and FAI to both around 80 then the prince of deaths staff is IMO the best staff in the game.
Using the meteorite staff now as we speak I just uploaded a video using it untouched it's amazing right now ........how do I know when to switch to a better staff that will make my spells stronger?

@@playstationsfinest you'll know when you stop doing damage well because the metorite staff cannot be upgraded at all. Lusats staff can, if your going off int build you'll want to stick with Lusat but it does use more FP with spells it hits harder too. When you upgrade the staff it scales higher to your Stats so metorite staff is good for beginners and Midgame but once I got to the Altus region it became pretty useless pretty quick. Another decent staff that isn't too hard to get if you want some faith too is the gelmir glinstone Staff, you could also get the demihuman queens staff has C int and D str rating but can be upgraded. But yeah hope this helps.
If your int strength stonedigger staff is by far the best I did some testing lvl 713
i didnt get that staff :( because Sellen questline ending is bugged
My picks
- General Purpose: Carian Regal Scepter
- Best DPS: Lusat's on 1st play thru, Prince of Death's with 80 Faith + 80 Int on 2nd play thru and beyond
- Best starting staff: Meteorite Staff
- Any staff (with no upgrades) that has a passive effect can be used in the off hand and paired with a DPS staff
Special shout out to the Staff of Loss (off hand) + Night Comet combo as the best pebble alternative for killing most things that don't need to be nuked. NPCs do not dodge night sorceries so killing invaders is very simple, wait for them to spawn while charging up Night Comet then chain cast it and they die in 2-3 hits that they will not dodge.

@cdchai that's exactly what I use. Night comet carried me more than rock sling. Although rock sling is great for poise damage. I've still used rock sling in ng++ though. Night comet is also great for radagon he can't parry it given it's an invis spell. Staff of the loss in off hand with lusats in right.

Battle mage build with the carian glintstone staff is my favorite. Love blade magic for pvp and pve. Carian piercer is a game changer imo
just in time!! i just respecced into a int, fai, dex, and arc build.
Alot of people dont realize that for high level glass canon builds prince of death can out perform lusats staff. As long as int and faith are within 5 points of each other prince of death does more damage than lusats even with the damage boost, and doesnt have the 50% cost increase
I wonder why it's like that..I just assumed it could scale off either int or faith depending on what you were running. I never run a mage only build. I like a sword on my main hand so having to lvl up a stat for weapons, mind, vigor plus int and faith sounds like a major headache.
Yeah you don't have the 50 percent more fp but you do have the 50 rune level investment for only like 120 or so more damage
Or off hand lustats and use death staff
i know what it is. because not everbody gets Lusat staff and his mage armor. it is 50 50 chance behind Sellen questchain ending. if u choose to help wrong npc at the end u dont get the armor@@horizontide568
I'm at lvl 60 and still use my trusted old Demi-Human Queen's Staff . Powered up to +14 🙂 and a Meteoric Ore Blade +8 katana. Works good 😃

Azurs Glinstone Staff - the 20% extra fp cost is only for SORCERIES, not for INCANTATIONS, so its a really good off hand for incantations
For now I'm using azurs glintstone staff, but I plan on switch to lusats staff when I get more points into mind
The blood thorn staff is kind cool to. Not sure about the stats but the design is cool
It's cool but requires faith. So it's meh.
Gotta say the background music is excellent for petting your cat
Crystal rot staff. Also prince of death staff if both faith and int get high up beats others in raw scaling but takes more investment to pull off so usually isnt worth it :)
The Academy Glintstone Staff works best for me at the moment. I am in the Lyndell royal capital.
I respec to 80 INT and Arcane. The Albaunaric Staff scales the same as the Carrian regal spectre so I guess carrian regal it's always better.
Now wanna respec to around 75int and 30 faith with 60 arcane.
I'm basically wanna do a INT build with Moonveil but instead of Moonveil I used the much better Rivers of Blood.
Im gonna try the prince of death staff but Ill imagine at those levels Carrian regal and Lusat still will be better.
What might suck it' switching between talismans from Mage upgrades to Bleed upgrades.
I main hand lusat’s staff and offhand the staff of loss so I can melt bosses with night comet (The best spell imo)

The meteor staff is the best at least for half the game, and you can get it first thing when you spawn
i disagree its scaling is awful last time i checked i think it was like 277 its good early game when its get to mid game or right before leyendell its pretty much worth nothing cause by then you already will have a better scaling staff like carian regal or lusats staff
@@kiri6935 yeah, in theory. In reality those staffs will be better at + 12 or above. You can do that from the start

I'm on NG+1,and I found an area that I missed on my first play-through. The Academy Crystal tunnel, I think it was named, and in it I foight 2 crystalline entities. After defeating them, I got the Crystal staff. Is this a new item? What, if any, are the benefits of it?
I know I’m 4 months behind but it has always been there. The only benefit of that staff is that it has a passive effect that increases damage dealt by crystalline sorceries. I don’t think it’s worth it cuz the crystal spells are trash imo but if that’s what you wanna use then it might be good as an offhand staff
Idk demi-human queen Staff is doing me just fine
I'm currently using the Meteorite Staff with the Staff of Loss as offhand and they work really well. I should probably go beat up Rennala already, but melee is pretty much my only option there and I rarely use it. Rock Sling is way too slow for her and other spells won't do shit.
I beat rennala first phase with carian shield and Rogier rapier then second phase using Rocksling, you can decrease casting time with Radagon icon. Also use another Radagon talisman to increase stat. Use also arrow reach talisman to increase Rocksling distance. I use Radagon talisman that boost stat and arrow reach, beat her around level 56?? Or 55 with 30INT 31 INT vigor and 18 DEX also 20 Mind
I got to her around lvl 125 and beat her with Flaming Strike on a +13 Lordsworn's Straight Sword, and whatever I had to boost fire damage. I just spammed the ash of war until she died. Only took 1 death (first I tried Flame of the Redmanes but that thing's completely useless now). I made the sewer run to the somber 7s, got the Ancient Somber from Mohgwyn Palace and now I have her staff maxed. I first tried Morgott yesterday XD I stg the Nokstella Dragonkin put up more of a fight than him although I still got that one on first too. @@seliamila1005
Use the roger rapier she is weak to piercing swords/weapons. If you get the Banished Knight summon just rush her and spam pierce. Upgrade the rapier two times and it’s an easy win
I took her down with Flaming Strike on a +13 Lordsworn's Straight Sword since. Her staff really is good, I maxed it, thought "let's see the damage against Morgott" since I was past Goldfrey already, and first tried him XD Tfw the boss is easier than getting a somber 7 from the sewers was (the lobsters weren't even the problem, I managed to die to gravity about 6 times) @@John_12297
i'll just say the best staves are lusat's staff the carian regal scepter azur's staff and the carian glintstone/carian glintblade staff

Outdated video. Common knowledge now is that Staff of Loss paired with Night Comet is giga dmg. Even better if you pair two together.
I'm a newb Mage and that combo seems to be what I always fall back on. It seems really strong, and I'm still low-leveled.

You unequip the staff and use a new one????
Usually you will have a staff in mind and level it up. No staff will be as good as the meteorite until it's leveled up.
Leveling the staffs takes an investment of smithing/ somber smithing stones. So you will know once you upgrade it.
My carian regal is only +6 right now and it's still not as good.
However it requires sombers which are more rare. If you upgrade the astrologers staff or one of the glint staffs, they are regular smithing stones and you could get them much higher sooner, but the scaling will be about the same
At +6, my carian regal scepter is still a little behind the meteorite staff. Probably be +8 before it's better it looks like. But I'm sure you can find it online, and your stats will affect the scaling of the staff you will be switching to

Has anyone tried rock sling with the rotten crystal staff? Maybe that would build rot since it’s physical damage?
Just checked out the staff on the wiki and it says it only builds scarlet root if you dmack people with the spells. The spells dont get the added benefit of scarlet rot buildup

Whilst equipped on main hand, press R2 or if it's in your off hand press L1 + Triangle to equip off hand weapon and then press R2.
What is my offhand?
offhand is where you hold it in your left hand while your main staff goes into your right
