    While comet azur can be absolutely insane in certain situations, I think you shouldn't oversell it. It only works if the enemy is standing still or too big to get out of the way. Yeah, there's a significant number of those situations, but it's still far from universally useful.
    Also, shout out to magma shot for resetting frost status.

    Tried out Night Comet the other day. In addition to not being actively dodged by enemies that avoid your spell casts like the blade lions and Godskin Apostle, the invisibility aspect of the spell also seems to bypass the aggression of some bosses that attack aggressively in response to your moves, such as the spirit of Godfrey.

  • @Just__tk_YT
    @Just__tk_YT 2 роки тому +16

    This is a pretty good list, but I here are my hidden gems:
    Ancient Death Rancor - This spell is nuts. Huge AOE, range, and staggers enemies into lockdown. With PoD/Magic Scorpion/Godfrey Icon/Graven Mass I was pumping around 2000 dmg per spell (charged). In PvE, enemies that are programmed to dodge will only react to the initial casting, making this spell incredibly difficult to outmaneuver. ADR+Moonveil (ash of war) has pretty good synergy and will destroy most NPC invaders. It has better range than Stars of Ruin and better mana efficiency -- I am using it right now in my NG+
    Great Glintstone Shard - Received buffs to casting speed/range, and now people are finally starting to notice this one as the TRUE pebble replacement. A lot of the focus was on Cometshard getting buffed once the patch hit, but the casting speed and charge time is just not worth it (same issues with Comet, but Comet is much worse off).
    Night Shard/Comet (SoL) - More specially, with x2 Staff of Lost (SoL boost Night Shard/Comet by 30%). 60% Comet boost that cannot be dodged? Yes please. I might actually test this to see if it's patched, sounds pretty broken.
    Loretta's Mastery - I've been seeing this one getting more love lately. I think it's because most of us are on NG+ now and the dmg with the Greatbow version is just not cutting it anymore. Greatbow can also hit a wall or miss, while the Mastery version improves the chance of some arrows getting by those tight corners/edges. It has a high mana cost, but it's very situational and not something you should be casting regularly.
    Night Maidens Mist - Pretty good spell if casted correctly. More specifically, those Putrid Crystalian enemies that begin to show up regularly towards the endgame.

      @ScottButterworth1 2 роки тому +16

      Night Maidens mist is absolutely fantastic as long as you don't stand in it - because you will melt very quickly. Luckily spirits are immune to it.
      I use this spell a lot and always cast this from around corners or from high above. It's very cheesy, when charged it has a massive area of effect, it can hit through some walls and it's fantastic spell for groups and narrow spaces. It's the best damage to FP in the game providing the target stays in it - can do 2-3k per cast.

    • @lexus134
      @lexus134 2 роки тому +3

    • @anewstandard.floors
      @anewstandard.floors Рік тому

      I keep the ones I use most in order, pebble first, rocksling, terra, slicer, night comet and shard and more situational ones after like cannon at the end because I usually use it as a surprise on gathered enemies and have time to cycle (don't have Lorettas yet)
      Once you get used to the order, and master it by holding up to get back to pebble as a finisher/ universal exploring spell it's as if you only have a few memorized because I'm skipping back to the start usually after the first few.
      This order works for me for exploring and if I run into anything stronger unexpectedly. I used to only use a few slots until I learned you can hold down up to get back to the start. That changed everything for me

  • @keeperdox
    @keeperdox 2 роки тому +275

    Very Important to note, but Ranni's Dark Moon DOES NOT just lower the targets damage negation by 30%.
    It lowers it's magic negation by 10%, and if it procs Frostbite, lowers it's damage negation by a further 20%, for roughly 30% after math. The point is 10%, with a CHANCE at a further 20%. If you're running a frost build, or spamming Adula's, then this is a moot point. Frostbite is gonna happen sooner rather than later. But if you're not, and this is the only frost spell you're throwing at the target, and only the once, then you can only rely on the 10%. The additional 20% is not guaranteed.
    In fact, without a frost build (and wearing Ranni's hat), Rennala's Full moon does higher damage for less FP and provides the same 10% debuff.
    So if you're using Ranni's, wear the big ol hat, and follow up with frost until you get the frostbite proc, THEN switch to your favorite murder spell.

    • @rolanddc.3421
      @rolanddc.3421 2 роки тому +8

      I actually do this. I wear her hat most of the time. When fighting a boss, I cast Ranni's dark moon then when a boss comes closer I use Adula's Blade for further frost build up.

    Magic glintblade is a spell that I find has a lot of PvP and PvE applications. For example, for PvE it's one of the better spells to use on horseback, particularly early game, you don't need to face or even target your enemy to use it effectively. It can also be used to deal with dodgy enemies, though clearly your nightcomet setup outclasses it. Another use is for ambushing enemies, Something like glintblade phalanx AoW > glintbladex2 > Ranni's moon>comet, will delete an enemy before they can move, because everything arrives at about the same time.
    In PvP it's almost a bread and butter spell, just put a few out there to see how enemies react, use it with glintblade phalanx AoW, then mix in stars of ruin, or if an opponent tries to rush you then go aggressive with melee sorceries. They'll get hit by either magic glintblade, glintblade phalanx AoW which will stagger them, your melee sorceries, or Stars or ruin. You can also mix in some large glintstone scraps into all that to really make someone miserable.

    Personal Recommendation for PvP? Magic Glintblade. A cheap spell that is great at getting your "turn" back, so to speak. While it's a delayed projectile, the projectile that comes out is very fast so it forces your opponent to split their attention between you and the Glintblade. (Made a whole vid about this one spell haha)

      Agreed. One of the best sorceries for kiting enemies - especially from horseback. Great tracking, decent range, good damage, enemies rarely dodge it. But if you succeeded in the roll, they both did less damage that the missile storm!

  • @NumnutSify
    @NumnutSify Рік тому

    Swift Glintstone pebble is superb exploration spell. Sure night comet is nice with its silence but its FP cost make it inefficient when you're trying to explore areas and have to deal with trash mob after trash mob. By the time you have to fight an actually dangerous opponent your resources are pretty minimal. Swift Glintstone pebble (or even regular glintstone pebble for early game) is third in efficiency to Carian Sword (regular glintstone pebble is second) BUT has the range to compensate. When you finally get to bosses or hard opponents you can switch to your harder hitting spells knowing that you have a sizeable resource pool left over. And don't scoff at its initial damage, paired with some talismans it can come out super fast in succession while costing almost no FP and Stamina. It also roll catches like a mofo or cast it after a roll for a surprise attack. Same as rock blaster but more range and tracking.

    My walking around PVE kit is Carian Phalanx, Pebble, Night Comet, Adula's Moonblade, Loretta's Bow, Rock Sling, Ranni's Dark Moon, Stars of Ruin, Shard Spiral. Slicer is missing because I've got Moonveil to swap to. For boss fights where Azur can be used I put it in with Terra Magicus. Otherwise, Dark Moon into Stars, Spiral or Moonblade gets the job done. Rock Sling remains great throughout the game because of its tracking and range when sniping from above. Also, I'm almost always walking around with Phalanx surrounding me with Pebble or Night Comet ready to cast. Nothing much is going to catch you by surprise around a corner or above you with Phalanx out.

    Pro Sorcery Combo Tips :
    1- Equip Carian Slicer in 1st slot , Adulas Moonblade or Carian Greatsword 2nd slot , then lastly Carian Piercer. ( Use Carian Slicer chain-combo slices , then switch to 2 or 3 Slashes from Adula's Moonblade into lastly a Nice really strong charged Carian Piercer ). If you do this Sequence Combo together altho its Fully Melee ranged , it will Kill most Bosses just like Comet Azur with the 10sec Infinite FP Mix Physique.... It's insanely really good to chain those 3 Melee Sorceries as the Damage output is really Nasty , it would deal as much as 2 Dual Wield Bleeding Katanas almost. Considering you buffed with Magic Shroud , using Lusat Staff and with or without Terra Magicus it doesn't matter..... What matters is the quick cast Animation Cancel that will make those 3 Magic Combo's really really Potent regardless of what your INT is honestly 🔥
    2- Use Lusat Staff , with Terra Magicus , Magic Shrouding Mix and Golden Vow Buffs and Ranni's Darkmoon.... This will Stack all Magic Damage giving you a Total of 100% More Magic Damage. ( Terra Magicus +30% , Magic Shroud Crystal Tear Mix +20% , Golden Vow +15% , Ranni's Darkmoon is +10% while the Frostbite is another Extra +20% = Giving you a Total of 100% Magic Damage that's not even counting Lusat's Helm or Staff buffed Damage compared to Carian Regal Scepter ). Adula's Moonblade is also another good option to Proc Frostbite with 1 Cast of Darkmoon.
    3- Dont sleep on Loretta's Mastery or Cannon of Haima , those 2 are amongst the best Sorcery Spells along with the other Legendary Spells.... Lorettas Mastery offers better Tracking with the Magic Missles than the Single shot , while a Full Charged Cannon of Haima offers an insane AoE great deal of Damage. ( Stacking Buffs or Talismans like Godfrey's Icon also improves the Magic Damage further on along with other Magic Damage buffs ). Specialy Loretta's Mastery or Greatbow... This is the Longest Ranged Spell in the Game honestly , offers Triple the Range of Glintstone Pebble or Comet a really strong long-range Spell indeed... Due to the Arc launch of Loretta's Mastery , the Tracking is more Fluid and better than the Single shot of Loretta's Greatbow while also Loretta's Mastery offers almost 25%-30% more damage than the Normal Loretta Greatbow Missle.... Enjoy 💯
