In one of his very first interviews he said he was chasing money but then he found the way by becoming a monk... He's just found a loophole to scam people out of their money. I don't get spiritual vibes from him whatsoever. Extremely commercial for what he preaches. And baffles me how no one questions it

So true. Then again, if one happens to be born or marry into "royalty", one can be vacuous, deeply flawed and wholly hypocritical and people literally bow down to one. Honestly, what makes it worse is the people who are bowing are paying these billionaires to live in unimaginable luxury whilst they themselves have next to nothing. I know people who are destitute, paying all they have for the entire month just on electricity and facing all manner of terrible illness without necessary health care and they *still* bow to the Windsors. It's bred into the English from very early on, thankfully the rest of these islands and the next generation arent so easily brainwashed. I guess my biggest question is, whilst I'm no big ego, how can people think so little of themselves as to bow to another human, not put of equal respect like in Japan but because they essentially believe that they are inferior? #Idontcurtsey

This is why when one chooses to lend oneself to a spiritual practice, one does some due diligence. I’m only saying this to clarify that your statement doesn’t discredit “Hindu ashram” in general, and that was your personal experience. Today, we're examining an intriguing character-Dr. Todd Grande. What drives a man to obsessively discuss personality disorders and controversial figures? Is it professional passion, or is he just trying to carve out a UA-cam niche between cat videos and dance challenges?
Let's consider his humor-dry as a good martini, and often just as confusing to the uninitiated. Is this a shield to ward off the absurdity of human behavior, or does he genuinely find his own jokes that amusing?
And about that ever-calm demeanor-how does one maintain such composure? Is he part cyborg, fueled by psychology textbooks and black coffee? It wouldn’t be the strangest thing on UA-cam.
Lastly, his relentless video production-could it be a deep-seated desire to educate, or is he just avoiding doing the dishes? Maybe his laptop is just a great place to hide from household chores.
In conclusion, while Dr. Grande offers deep dives into the psyche, his own persona might just be the most baffling puzzle. Thanks for tuning in, and remember to like and subscribe if you too are avoiding something slightly more productive."

Many people are disconnected from themselves because of trauma. Someone comes along and promises them the answer, relief from the discomfort of emotional pain, and people seize it and blow right past any red flags. Can’t blame people for wanting to be healed, but throwing all your trust (& money..) into someone who claims to have a miracle cure is just another form of instant gratification. The path to contentment is made in connecting with yourself, finding psychological balance (which often takes the help of a professional) and no guru has a silver bullet for making problems go away.

A guru once told me happiness is something that you learn. It’s a mindset. It’s perception related. How you perceive the world/life. Most feel attachment to someone brings happiness. But it is really the cessation of seeking. Contentment. The seeking ceases when you acquire what you perceive as the antidote/cure for your loneliness. It is only temporary pacification however. Attachment brings dependency. Dependency and addiction are synonymous

@@INatalkaI Why is no one talking about the horrors of long-term use of Benzodiazepines? Long-term Benzodiazepine use is banned in most of the world because over time they cause significant and permanent brain damage; and are possibly the number one cause of premature death.
As Benzodiazepines erode key modules of the brain, the patients’ emotional disability vastly grows. The American physicians erroneously respond by simply increasing the dosage and variety of benzodiazepines prescribed. Soon the patient turns to other drugs, alcohol, and opioids in an attempt to deal with their growing emotional disability. As a direct result, deaths by benzodiazepines and opioids are on a sharp rise. Meanwhile, benzodiazepines and opioids prove lethal mix as deaths soar Unfortunately, the U.S. FDA - a captive to the Transnational Big Pharma Corporate Monopoly - refuses to promote health experts concerns over the matter. "Benzodiazepines like Valium that are used for managing anxiety actually make anxiety symptoms worse," says Tim Leighton, director of professional education and research at Action on Addiction.
How about SSRI's? Overall, SSRI’s operate by blasting more serotonin through the system than any other neurotransmitter. The result is imbalance, a flat affect (which typically diminishes motivation and causes power imbalances among the social fabric of the patient’s life), neuroleptic malignant syndrome, galactorrhea, sleep bruxism, decreased vigilance & tired brain, extremely serious extrapyramidal reactions, and the plethora of other side-effects for which SSRI’s are known (including homicide & suicide).
How about Neurontin (gabapentin, Lyrica): he United Kingdom and U.S. States like Kentucky & Michigan have reclassified the drug as highly addictive. Abuse often coincides with other substance use disorders, most commonly opioids. To be sure, gabapentin & opioid abuse frequently goes hand-in-hand. Mechanistically, the GABAmimetic properties of Neurontin (gabapentin) can induce a euphoria that augments the effects of the opioid being used, as well aiding in the cessation of commonly experienced opioid-withdrawal symptoms, such as anxiety.
Reportedly, withdrawal symptoms, often resembling those of benzodiazepine withdrawal, play a role in the physical dependence of some user’s experience. Some of the most commonly reported withdrawal symptoms include agitation, confusion, disorientation, upset stomach, and sweating. In some cases, users experienced delirium and withdrawal seizures, which may only respond to the re-administration of Neurontin (gabapentin). Withdrawal symptoms typically emerge within 12 hours to 7 days after stopping Neurontin (gabapentin). ,
Unlike opiates, there is no antidote for an overdose of Neurontin (Gabapentin). Studies have also shown an almost doubled rate of suicidal ideation in patients with bipolar disorder who are taking gabapentin versus those on lithium. It should be noted that the preponderance of evidence suggests that it is not effective in the treatment of bipolar disorder.
Even though the marketing of these drugs has been heavily fined, they continue to rack up billions in sales from the off-label uses. When contrasted against the billions of dollars in annual sales, the paltry fines are hardly a ‘drop-in-the-bucket’. As a direct result of hard-driven marketing, physicians use them for all manner of nerve issues because they are good at suppressing symptoms. However, such uses can no longer be justified because the drugs actual mechanism of action - Neurontin & Lyrica is creating a significant long-term reduction in nerve health. Additionally, the combination of Neurontin with opioids has recently come under increasing scrutiny - And has been indicated in complex encephalopathy. Severe gabapentin withdrawal should be considered in patients on higher doses of gabapentin when it is stopped abruptly.
And worst of all: so-called atypical antipsychotic drugs (SGAs) like Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon and Abilify. To varying degrees, they are likely to cause Extrapyramidal Side-Effects (EPS) - Basically, you get permanent Parkinsonian like facial tics and gestures and loss of control. Same with serotonin-dopamine activity modulators (SDAMs). Frequent side effects include akathisia and extrapyramidal symptoms (Parkinson's), are rather high. In short, these drugs cause four main extrapyramidal symptoms: pseudoparkinsonism, akathisia, acute dystonia, and tardive dyskinesia. The first three usually begin within a few weeks of starting a new medication (or increasing the dosage).

It might have been embellished. it’s very common in our tradition for men to live in what we call “the temple“ for one to 10 years and then later on enter married life. It’s possible he was back-and-forth a little bit to England during that three years in india. But honestly, you don’t really need to go to India to experience the same thing . I lived in a temple/monastery in a major city in America and it’s basically the same lifestyle (wake up at 4 AM and do meditation worship study for 4 to 5 hours, then engaging service throughout the day). However, with the general public, living in India for years sounds much more intriguing.

Thank you so much Dr. Grande. You absolutely are right on the money. Jay Shetty has milked this ‘I was a monk’ to death. He seems to have forgotten that greed is a sin and quickly realized that taking his ‘just breathe’ BS to Hollywood would rake in millions. He should be ashamed.

Yeah, that's a big part that really tweaked me off too. That he did study - whether it was 4 months or 3 years doesn't matter quite as much - in a monastic environment living simply, and then HE FORGOT ALL ABOUT THAT LAST PART. As though it was just something to be consumed, and not to TRULY "Change his Life". Almost as if there's only one kind of "changing one's life" that's fashionable.

I have found, for me personally, that reading my Bible is the only "life-coaching" that has ever helped me. I tried reading the self help books that started coming out in the 1970s, but they left me feeling more confused than I was before!

😂 It’s bitter sweet knowing I called this guy out the moment I heard him speak. Sweet because my BS detector is calibrated and functioning at 💯. Bitter because of the realization that there are so many foolish and ignorant people who think this guys is a thought leader. It’s no wonder we have the “elected” officials that we do.

While I agree with your point about celebs , I disagree with your “life is simple people make it difficult “.
Life should be simple but it took me a long time to realize that the extensive abuse and torment I was put thru as a child has manifested in ways that make life difficult. For me the “simplest” things are difficult. Because of that. It’s programming that cannot be undone with a few choice words.
