Hello, this Dr. Grande. I make a living as an internet personality and supplementrd by the generous donations from viewers like you. I am not psychoanalizin myself, just speculating. I am a humble person. My videos usually contained background, the actual events reported, have a little bit of dry humor here and there, and concluded with my opinion of what I think happened and the reasons behind the event. I hope that I can continue to entertain and inform you for years to come, and may my endeavors be fulfilled 🙏 and that I am able to continue to help out those in need!

I wouldn’t hand that book to a 7 yr old. I myself take responsibility for my child’s ability to think critically. The term “critical thinking” is a very broad brush. That adults think children learn to think critically from school lessons or via reading particular books indicates to me that the kids of those people are doomed.

For sure, Huberman is intelligent. It is ironic that people focus on Hunerma’s flaws and disregard the fact that he has helped so many people. What about your flaws? Would you like someone to expose them and lecture you about it? I know, I would not like it. When you read a book that teaches you something, do you make sure the writer meets personality criteria? What does someone’s sexual lifestyle have to do with their career? What is wrong with exploring the sexual market? The women who were with him were exploring the sexual market as well. Isn’t that as long as there is consent, people can indulge their sexuality? Do you assume the women who were with him were only seeing him? It is becoming all too common to use someone’s sexuality to bring them down. It does not make sense, given that society is hypersexualized; sex is encouraged 24/7, and women are the ones leading it. Do not present women as victims because they are not. They are the ones having multiple encounters because they are the ones able to do so. The majority of men are struggling to get a date, while the majority of women can pick and choose.

I’m not sure that Huberman doesn’t support flu vaccines and sunscreen. I remember in has video about cold and flu he distinctly recommends getting them, but says that they aren’t 100% effective because you might contract a strain not included in the vaccine. He also says that sunscreen is effective at preventing sunburn and skin cancer. I’m not sure where you heard him say it’s potentially hazardous, but I feel like that might be out of context.

That’s exactly what makes him so popular. We’ve known these things for years, it’s the way hubberman is able to present information in a sensational way is what makes it stick. Works great for actual helpful advice but when he has that same level of sensationalism for every point he’s making, then he begins to become questionable - it’s very good to be weary of or at least take notice of while watching his videos. He states things still debated in science as fact, he makes so many disputable correlations, but it’s always framed in a way that’s self-help/motivational/true. So of course his content is going to be popular amongst laymen, it’s waaay more convincing than the average self-help gurus, because it’s “””backed by”””” science, more specifically Andrew Hubberman’s Science. This is why those in the realm of science are reluctant about him. I’ve seen various videos where doctors and scientists had to point out his video of in-factual or misleading information, or misrepresented scientific studies. Please just listen to the helpful advice, but just bc he’s giving good general advice in a novel way - doesn’t mean we should take every word for gospel. Just be weary

As a scientist myself, his narrative seemed highly suspicious from the start, but I was careful to share my opinion because of his guru status, and the lack of criticisims about him in general. Just one question, Dr Grande, out of curiosity and with all due respect: you learned about the article, then you got to know the subject and his UA-cam channel/podcast, next you dive deep into his content so that 5 days later you post this video? Or did you spend most of this 5-day period reading the article itself, which is lengthy to say the least, and which is mostly filled with grievances from exes? Or the scientific merit was the main motivator?
I ask because, in other words, this doesn't look like it's anything but an outlet giving a venting platform to angry women to speak shielded by anonymity; how ethical is that? Ah, privacy! No, it isn't, they could come out; it's not like the article is a piece about a whistleblower on a syndicate. What about *his* privacy? I guess the woman peeking at his journal was a non-event, right? Outlets of this day and age would not spend that many resources on a piece about the private life and relationships behaviour of any one woman. Just imagine five men creating a chat group to share experiences about being cheated by any female on Earth. How much of a story would that be? It would be no more than a meme about five fools.
Anyway, what's the point? He's a womanizer? OK, not the role model I'd seek for relationships. But I also don't think people ever thought of Huberman as their go-to, top-of-the-mind figure when the topic of relationships is brought up. Is the matter of relationships the reason people go for his content? no, people seek his content for what it is: good enough, albeit not perfect. If there are scientific discrepancies, so be it, let's bring them to light! But is that what this is really about? I agree with you, Dr Grande, that it's totally possible to challenge the scientificity of some of his positions, but no one is prioritizing writing an article that lengthy about his alleged biases and scientific flaws.
    I wonder why's that.

What strikes me as significant is that the various women took health risks that they would likely not have taken if they were given clear choice. Because of his lies, they slept with him as if they were with trusted partner, and did not protect themselves. They were in a sense sleeping with all these other people, and whatever diseases or vulnerabilities they might introduce, without consent. He in this way gave the message that his health is important, but the women's health is not. His choice is important, theirs is not. He communicated that his freedom ranks over their choice, health, and well-being. Regardless of whether he's a good scientist, podcaster, etc., his willingness to abrogate their rights marks him as untrustworthy, and tacitly violent.

Everything Andrew Huberman mentions is very much “science”, but much of his recommendations don’t meet the bar of what would normally be considered an evidence based recommendation for health. This is fine as long as he clarifies this and differentiates between a recommendation based on mechanistic theory, versus a recommendation based on a placebo controlled, adequately powered study. That doesn’t mean all of it isn’t “science”.

It is always presented as voluntary, and never "preached". I don't think I've ever heard him preach about anything the article criticizes, so if his lifestyle is what makes him happy, or other women frustrated/upset, it's not promoted or revealed, so I don't care. Sounds like the gorgeous bronzed guru god - muscles, PhD and all - my niece fell for. I disliked him instantly. Never had she met a man she could connect with on so many levels! He was her teacher, her spiritual guide, her soulmate, protector, lover, and best friend. When she found out he had about a dozen “best friends” (we live on an island a sixth the size of Aruba, which sure cuts down on the travel time) she was so devastated she went into a years-long depression. All this ended when he contacted her belatedly with the news he had cancer, needed her forgiveness and care, and convinced her that, despite his silly dalliances, she had been “the only one.”
She did, indeed, rise to the occasion, but in doing so, met some of the other “only ones”, and they all became friends, rather like the many wives of Richard Harris.
To this day, though, she believes that she was special above all the others.

sunlight in the early morning is not the same as "soaking up vit d" any time of the day. the reason that huberman specifies early morning sun is precisely because it's too harmful past early morning, which is why people who are cronic sunbathers like the guy in your story are the most prone to skin cancer. medical doctors will tell you that the sun radiation in early morning and late afternoon are the weakest and that's why the use of sunscreen is most beneficial when the sun is high up and not close to the horizon.

Andrew Huberman provides helpful information on health topics, mostly backed by science. We live in a capitalistic system and the products that sponsor him help with the expense of running a studio so he can provide the advice. It has always been caveat emptor - buyer beware. I enjoy Huberman's health advice and have benefitted from his advice to get sunlight in the morning. What he does off-camera is not my concern as long as his relationships are consensual with consenting adults.

This feels like a great oversimplification of Huberman’s content. His topics are wide reaching (e.g. eye health, sugar, mental health, multiple episodes focused on women’s health, dangers of alcohol, etc) and the majority of opinions and information come from accomplished guests, not Dr. Huberman himself. Being a womanizer is bad, but his show is quite valuable and has taught me (and the other millions of viewers) a lot about our bodies and health.

I don't really feel like his brand is about teaching men to manipulate or take advantage of women. I don't approve of anyone acting that way, but what this tells me about Huberman is that he's flawed, just like everyone is, which I already knew.

@@notyourdamnbusiness8795 I just posted this comment - that should let you know what I'm focused on. Time and Quantum Mechanics SOLVED? | Lee Smolin is his latest interview, a month ago on "Theories of Everything with Curt Jaimungal." Smolin has Parkinson's disease or at least he's on dopamine to treat that condition - tragic. He mentioned how he views time to be asymmetric - this is Roger Penrose's view also. This actually means noncommutativity. So Lee Smolin relies on matrices math which are noncommutative. Professor Basil J. Hiley emphasizes that Bohmian physics is actually noncommutativity. The problem is that most physicists don't deal with our ecological crisis which is from the increased entropy of the wrong commutative geometry math. Lee Smolin doesn't address this either but Basil J. Hiley and Roger Penrose do refer to it in passing. Hiley told me that he doesn't focus on gravitational entropy though but Penrose has.

I think Andrew is brilliant AND human. He has great insight into many topics and is limited as well. When you start to get attention from likes/views, you have to remain integrous. I do think this becomes a slippery slope for many. The desire is to be certain when, usually, that is not really possible. His decisions about dating is, in my opinion, a completely other topic. That is about his personal life and journey. We all need counseling of some sort. Brilliant or not.
