I was watching a Dr. Phill episode the other day and he was saying something about the wife (episode guest) kicking the crap out of the husband and everyone in the audience started laughing. I was like wtf? If he had said the husband was beating the crap out of his wife, people would be absolutely appalled.

I have known two men who were abused by their wives. When asked why they put up with it, each said something to the effect of, " If a man defends himself against a woman, he goes to prison."

Shows that people that would claim to care about domestic violence don't really care about domestic violence and even take an enjoyment in some sadistic violence against others. What they only care about is violence against people they relate to for example people of the same gender or skin color.

My son was the victim of physical abuse by his new wife. It started 3 weeks after the honeymoon.
We found out because when he bent over to pick something up off the floor, we saw bruises on his back. He confessed what was going on, and we helped him move out of their apartment the next day. He was married and divorced within six months and with therapy, he is doing well.

This is how my mom treated me from about age 6 until I was in my twenties. She never defecated on me, but she did rub my face and hair in dog feces when our dog had diarrhea on the floor. I’ve had my face slammed into the dashboard of her car as she drove. She stapled my curtains to my wall so I couldn’t look outside and made me stay in my room for hours whenever she had guests. She used to wake me up with beatings until I couldn’t stay asleep more than four hours or so. I never weighed more than 108 until I was thirty, despite being 5’7” because I was so anxious I could barely sit still and eat. Watching this documentary really made me ill.
I was so brainwashed that this was normal that I never even realized it was abuse until I was in my thirties. Domestic violence isn’t just between adults.

      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6

Wish I could’ve been there to see that one but she got the man to recant what he told the cops she had done (which was verified by my teen brother) and the charges were dropped. She’s teflon.
Oh and she now forever blames my little brother for why she got arrested that day. He was 13 and told the cops the truth, that she pulled a shotty on her husband tried to pull the trigger before it was wrestled away from her. And claimed she poisoned her husbands coffee.

I wasn't physically abused but my marriage hurt me in a lot of ways and I similarly find some healing in realizing that I am not alone in having had a hard time drawing boundaries, deciding to leave, and not blaming myself. I think there's a more automatic support for women in their friends and families, who will encourage scorched earth tactics at the drop of a hat, while for men the advice is often more like "just be patient with her".

When I was young I almost never heard of women being abusive. Just in my lifetime with the ubiquitous use of cell phones, security systems, DNA and forensics science, and the increased psychological knowledge of human behavior (such as narcissistic personality disorder) women have been reported to be abusive. I'm convinced that that is why many people still refuse to accept it. Traditions and traditional beliefs take a long time to change. There is also a lot of money involved in the criminal, civil and family courts remaining the same.

I was with a bi-polar gal for awhile and she was similar to Sheree. She would beat me in the face, then call the police and tell them I had threatened her with a knife. The pigs always arrested me, even though I had never hit her, and never ever threatened her with a knife. Cops are incredibly lazy, they always arrest the person that does not call, never bother to even try to figure out how the guys face looks like it was beaten to shit. Every time she did it the prick judges kept raising my bail till i could not afford it. Eventually, she fell in love with one of her crazy cousins and I was free. Even better, she died of natural causes maybe a year later, some virus in her heart. The lesson being, if a woman ever bears false witness against you, you have to get away from her, no exceptions, because the "justice system" is geared towards always making the guy the perp, even when he is not. Do not think I am kidding on this. If dude here did not have video, he would have been put in jail if she ever made a false claim. Law enforcement and the court systems (at least in the U.S.) take the position that a smaller female can’t possibly physically abuse a larger man. If he does defend himself, she’ll cry “domestic violence” and he goes to jail. These women know this and take advantage of the system accordingly.

I've known women like her: First testing a man out, to see if he has "a spine". It starts small: little disrespectful comments, or overstepping her bounds. If the man stands up for himself, she will have some respect, (at the time). Her respect is not permanent. She is usually in a state of emotional turmoil, egomania, and imbalance. These are the Amber Heard types: Entitled, Arrogant, Narcs, Borderline, and Sociopaths. Moreover, obviously, when she sees the man "show weakness", or capitulate to her tests, she will strike. There's definitely a bias in law enforcement, and society, that works against male victims of abuse like Richard. But I also think it's worth pointing out that the very fact that Richard was able to live happily ever after says something, too. Many women don't get to live on after abuse at all, let alone happily ever after -- women are more likely to be killed by their domestic partner than by anyone else. The system fails victims of all genders far too often, just in different ways. :(

Oh my gosh this reminds me of my husband’s ex wife. She was horribly abusive. He’s got scars from cigarette burns, she broke his nose when she threw something at his face, and like this woman, forced him to sleep with her almost every day just to exert control. It was so bad that he almost offed himself. He literally had the shotgun in his mouth when he decided to not give up. He put the gun down and checked himself into the hospital. Think she felt bad? Nope. Knowing he was suicidal, she served him divorce papers, and this was after asking if their kids could stay with his mom for a few weeks so that he and she could fix things. She divorced him and kidnapped their daughter to another state. He hasn’t seen his child for 10 yrs.
Women can be a particular kind of evil. They often don’t seek to kill you physically opting to destroy you mentally. These women also know that they can use their kids to do it because courts favor them.

Hed throw things, never let a hand on me though, I told him if he hit me Id end him in his sleep lol.

I asked him one day what it would take for him to leave me, and he said if I got fat. 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Whatever moved this man to record his abuse, was a good move. I think that abusive people, have spouses who are very quiet, and are always pleasant in public. However, a clever abuser is so clever covering their abuse. If you are in and abusive relationship, you should always do what this abused husband, keep all of kind of records.

as the child of an alcoholic, i kind of disagree. some people are genuinely allergic to alcohol/it interacts with their mental illnesses to create a perfect storm. it’s your choice to continue drinking after you experience those effects though, and that’s what is pathetic about violent drunks. not necessarily that their “true character” emerges. i think that’s an overly simplistic view of addiction in general and writes off the power of drugs and alcohol. it’s not truth serum.
