- GoPro 11 comes with a new sensor that lets you capture taller 8:7 Aspect ratio. Thanks to that you can use the same video file for horizontal and vertical video , so you don't have to worry if you should record for youtube or instagram as now you can do both at the same time.

8:7 is a little bit taler but for insta it crops to much in.
what video resolution did you use for instagram? 2.7k or 1080

Actually, you can crop any video recorded with any camera. I think this is nothing special from GoPro.
Yea u can make a crop any time , its just that yhe newer aspect ratio records a taller view
How do you get that awesome quality video? When I crop to vertical I lose too much quality.
I rendered this video from 4k to 1080p and did.vertical in Davinci resolve rather than quik.app

@@Tomasz.Nowacki Do you probably have a tutorial about the settings you use? I just bought a gopro 11 and am totally lost. Did a couple of videos but see the bad quality, especially from horizontal to vertical. Color grading is also another topic.
I only done a tutorial about low light settings cause there are so many videos on this topic , but try to change your bitrate to high , lower sharpness to low or medium , and set min iso. 100 and max 400 , color natural , ev -0.5 should work fine

When I looked at the footage of it on the actual go pro screen it seemed quite warped. Do you find that’s the case?
Wide field of view is a little bit distorted cause its a wide angle lens
That’s been what gopro footage looks like since the first model in 2009. All other action cameras have the same, its just that in more recent years they added dewarp so the fisheye distortion is corrected
what aspect ratio should i record on if i only want to upload to Instagram and what fps. I use davinci resolve as well. When I record do i place my go pro horizonal on the tripod or vertical ?
If only record for instagram i suggest u use a verical mount for your gopro, then use 8; 7 for wider view , 30 fps as standard or 60 fps for a bit of slow motion

I’ve heard people use 16:9 resolution but they turn the go pro vertical to make it 9:16. What are the pros and cons against 9:16 and 8:7 I can’t decide
how could a change 8:7 to 16:9 or 9:16? Quik gopro app? When i record 8:7 and pass to 9:16 has edges

In a way yes but only using 4:3 which gives u less view
What if I only want to make horizontal video's for YT? Is the 8:7 better than normal one?
Then i would stick to 16:9 or 4:3 , 4:3 lets yoy adjust your framing later on byt its a bit limited in terms of fps
how did you color graded the video ? any setting?
I dont remember exactly now ut was eitger flat or natural color , theb i just typically do bluer wb , add a but saturation and sharpness not that much really

8:7 also has its limitations like frame rate and stabilisation but if you often share instagram vids its pretty cool

Why does no one mention that 8:7 is super wide so it’s distorted like a fish eye lens.
Its not wider than a 16:9 or 4:3 its just a taller view
