The udio zoom you us,you just put it in your jacket and records audio that well like when you are doing the wheelie? O.o Or where do you put it? It´s crazy it reduces the wind noise that much
Amazing Tutorial. Just wanted to let you know however, that the ND Filter doesn't make any changes to motion blur. It simply darkens the image, which allows the auto shutter to go lower (slow shutter speed = more Motion Blur). I would recommend to always set the Shutter Speed to the double of your FPS (for 25fps you'd choose 1/50). Gives the most natural motion blur
Good point. I've also seen people say that ISO affects motion blur which is not true. ISO only affects noise. The only factor affecting motion blur is shutterspeed which should always be approximately double the frame rate. Auto, like in the video, should always set to double and increase in especially bright situations.
@@Solomer5569 yes, that‘s where you would lower iso and narrow the aperture. If you can‘t or don‘t want to, then you‘d use an ND Filter so you can keep your settings as you need them

I just watched this video and subscribed instantly. Like the quality you are providing is better than people having millions of subscribers. Keep going you will get there. 💙
Really appreciate the video. I ended up buying the H1n and the Purple Panda. Just did my first test ride after playing around with the settings. I wear a full face Shoei helmet and I clipped the mic on jus as you did. Man, I had a ton of noise coming from the wind and my exhaust. I will need to keep playing around with it as I think it was too much wind. Yours sound great!
Further, I did another ride tonight with the mic positioned pretty much right in front of mouth and clipped on like yours. My voice sounds like I'm nervous or something as it sounds choppy and "shaky" sounding. I wonder if the low setting is somehow clipping out part of my voice. I'm going to experiment with it.
@virginiatrailcameravideos generally, you need to ride at slower speeds to get a low wind noise sound. wind will eventually hit the mic the faster you ride. Notice that I only do my vlogs in the city at relatively lower speeds. Good luck!
Your quality is amazing! I might get back into Motovlogging so I have been checking out various setups. The external recording of the audio seems like the way to go even though it's a little more inconvenient. I think regardless I will give this mic a shot and that backpack looks dope! I have an A7 IV and have been worried to bring it with me riding but that might solve my issue.
Great video! GoPro 12 Pro Black doesn’t give the same options exactly - forces you into HDR and limits frame size to 16:9 or 8:7 at 5.3. Going to try the closest to your settings and see how it goes. Also going to try the Rode Wireless Me - because my last long video sounded exactly like your example of bad audio. Lol Cheers!
i was not prepared for the level of production and quality from someone with less than 10k subs. remember me when you're famous lmao. Great content homie
hey my friend, not bad, but some annoying features, i am developing a 5 inch screen and camera system that allows you to fix 7 x mini hd cameras anywhere around the bike plus a twin mic (1 mounted near the engine and 1 you can mount inside the helmet for ride commentary) but the beauty of this system is THERE IS NO EDITING! Woohoo! all cameras record to 1 file on a single sdcard in 3-5-10-15 minute sections. insert the card into your pc and play back in widescreen format, the front camera remains constantly on view and fills the left half of the screen and the right half shows random scrolling of all the other cameras with a handlebar push button override function to automatically show the rear camera on the 5 inch screen and automatically when indicating left or right. this really helps with your lifesaver check, you can see everything behind you before you pull out to turn or overtake
I got myself a camera + audio setup for 180 euros: gopro hero white 7 for 110 (second hand), the parts for helmet setup for around 20, zoom h1 for 20 (secondhand), deadcat for zoom h1a for 12, sdcards 128g + 32 gb for 16. Honestly all I need since il be making pure sound type videos only! :) would recommend people to look into second hand, so much value to be found!
Wow crispy clean Vid bro! I just have a simple question: can i record Sena, my voice AND the he exhaust Sound? I thought maybe with an Aux splitter? Is this possible?
i am terribly sorry for my question but i didn't get where you're putting the mic when you want to record your exhaust 🥲 i just ordered everything you talked about for a better sound quality but i need to be sure before using it, thank u so much if you answer 🙃
You think you could make a video showing us how those Bike Vloggers link their comms to the camera/GoPro along with your own audio recording? Is it really all done separately and finalized in post? Granted I can get the possibility of linking your comms to the GoPro from Bluetooth or something, but as you said in this video you're gonna want good audio recording from the rider. So the question is also how are you supposed to link the separate audios with friends when there's the possibility the MotoVlogger's recording can't. As he has the Good Audio recording, yet his crappy intercom voice is also recorded via the comms audio along with the other riders. ...My brain hurts now :)
For the external microphone recording the exhaust, do you run the panda mic near the exhaust? Or just leave the recorder in your bag like that by itself
Great video, lots of help, but what do you do if your ride is over an hour long? Do you have multiple batteries for GoPro, and just switch batteries when they die??
Lots of good info! It's mostly for the professional vlogger/cinematographer, considering there are so many settings on the cameras to choose from--for the average user. Very time consuming to road test all those settings to get things just the way you want them. How do you know when you have a final product that’s ready for publication? I’ve heard it said that you know when you’ve finally run out of time...
I’m getting a little too much wind noise from the recorder in my backpack for the exhaust sound. I wonder if they make something that can help lower that a bit
Question. If you’re using the NDs, don’t you want to set the shutter to 1/50 instead of Auto? Otherwise it’s changing the shutter for your ND defeating the purpose. Lmk if I’m wrong in this assessment. I felt like I was making this mistake on my main camera as I shot all last year.
Yes the the 180 degree rule is the more professional option that I sometimes use But setti g it to auto with an ND filter for chaging weather conditions. By setting it to auto with an ND it will keep the shutter low enough to produce motion blur. I'll try to explain the concept in another video.
Nice vid, I'll be trying these settings! I've just started making vids myself but your sound is so clean. what do you mean by "lav mic taped next to the exhaust with a deadcat set to gain 3" where is it taped to? 😂
Hi everyone. Im really new to this camera world, but all I want is a good quality of video footage, AND the best possible microphone while driving on my motorcycle. What do you suggest? Note that i dont want any extra wires, i want the microphone from the camera. Arent there any go pros that are specifically built to reduce the wind noise?
Hi bro just quick question For the external mic to record the exhaust you just need to drop the mic in your bag turn it on and record ? You don’t need to plug it ? Then you make a synchronization for editing?
Hi @Moztreet . What is the GoPro adapter you are using on your helmet? Seems like its direction can be changed easily despit the original fixed GoPro adapter
Question ! So having the recording device in your jacket pocket pics up the exhaust sounds well? And to get your voice audio you just have a microphone line attached and connected on your helmet?
Great video! have been recently been finding my footage on wide has been taking videos more of my tank and less of the surroundings. Any tips on this? Frustrating as taken so much footage as not huge amount of usable content. Can you help?
I just got my go pro hero 12 with media mod and powerdewise lavalier microphone. There is too much distortion while i ride even i cannot here myself. Should i buy zoom h1n as well for vlogging?
Working on it. The frame rate is on auto with the ND due to the changing exposure on the road, it usually floats between 1/50 to 1/200 aiding hypersmooth stabilization.

Great quality, thanks for sharing settings. Quick question, Why 4:3 instead of 16:9?
