honestly most guides are pretty equal. however one thing here i think stands out. the 4 split screens when showing the sabers instead of doing one after another i find better to organize it. . . the information vomit on mechanics that can vary but at the same time can get mildly confusing. nicely done.
Man...going through the Extreme version of this fight was both brutal..but also well worth it..I loved the normal version of the fight from the story and it was honestly one of the best fights. And the music makes it well worth it.
You have got to be a hardcore raider to take that line of thought. How many raids do you have under your belt at ultimate level? I'm betting it's a thousand
@@paysonfox88 None. I dont do raids because there were a few times where I didn't have a good experience because of one or two people in a raid/trial. I tend to do content like that after everyone has done it a million times and ilvl is higher than needed. Less likely to come into contact with people with bad tempers. Edit: I watch content guides that I want to do and thats enough for me to think that I'd like to see trials that play with the formula we're used to.
I really admire ingenuity of FFXIV develpers. To create fights which are so diverse is incredible. I mean, this fight for example is testing your reflexes, memory, timing, cooperation, positioning.. and endurance.. Just wow. GL to everybody who is trying this on sync. I did it on sync, MINIL as healer, but i had great teammates. ^^
@MTQcapture Regarding the part at around 8:21, shouldn't the heals and tanks get the tether? The other ranged besides the heals would be dps (assuming you get other ranged dps in the party) and they can NOT take the bahamut breath after soaking the towers as the dps will get debuffed from the tower. They cannot take another hit until that drops.
Aye while uptime is important, it isn't boss uptime, as long as you can kill them before 100 charge, it doesn't matter how fast they die, groups I've done it with have had the tanks and healer handle the tethers
The strat in this video has the tanks and the melee taking the meteor towers so the adds don't get pulled away from the melee = more melee uptime and faster kills. The ranged and healers can handle the tethers after they stack. Healer/tank tethers, while definitely okay to do, will needlessly reduces melee uptime so I, personally, do not recommend it. Obviously should go without saying, but if there isn't 2 ranged in the party then do whatever strat works for you. Again, what she is suggesting provides the opportunity for all roles within a party to do what they do best.
People say there's too many mechanics in these extreme and savage fights. Well guess what? The fans asked for this because there wasn't enough mechanics.
THANK YOU! Also a note: You can also have two dps take the tower. It's worked perfectly fine in all the gropups I have done as a PLD OT, ofc this means the tank interrupts and then moves for bahamut tether.
For B/W combo, wouldn’t it be easier to have your assigned partner you’ve always had since the beginning to do that mech? So Pairing A takes 1/5, B 2/6, C 3/7, D 4/8 meteors?
T H R M is easier cause you will always know what class you are vs knowing who your partner is and identifying where and what meteor you get. T H R M IS T1-5 H2-6 R3-7 M4-8 ( T- Tank) H-healer (R- ranged) M-melee
OzTheGREAT !! Not to negate what you’re saying, which is a viable option nonetheless. But I’m saying in the beginning, healers/tanks rotated to be with their dps partners for the LB3 meteors. Isn’t that much simpler to do b/w with your partners, since you’re already at your position in case of Earthshatter and LB3 Meteor?
Bonus tip is wrong. Use DPS LB3 while boss is doing other mechanics. Not in between. Example: During DRK, melee can use LB3 if they are the stack in mid and boss doesn't immune
The Bahamut tethers is still the one mechanic I somehow still don't understand. I get the tether, then I go to face the corner. The tether is either from Bahamut near me or across me. I'm told to pass it to my partner, I do but then I'm told I did something wrong or had it right the first time. Any understanding tips folks? 🤔🤔🤔
*A lot* of trial and error, Extreme and Savage fights are usually hours/days of progress and figuring out mechanics, a well organized group of 8 will probably nail the fight down in several hours, if not a day. But less efficient groups, or groups made from party finder will probably spend a few days learning the phases and building up that muscle memory. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, these fights aren't made to be cleared in one pull while blind and the odds of that happening are so extraordinarily low in most cases (But it can happen). If you do a fight enough times it becomes easy to break it down into "Okay I'm Melee DPS so I just need to remember my place for x, y, z mechanic" and you can ignore mostly what everyone else is doing and everything will fall in place. These videos have to explain what each role type needs to do in the fight so it seems like *way* more information than what most players actually have to parse while doing the fight.
This is got to be one of the most complicated raids I've ever seen. My group and I died so many times last night trying this. We did get to the final phase though.
That's all mizzteq does. No care for a normal strat for safety. Only uptime. I've seen dps take towers and kill the adds faster than tank/melee on towers (because most of the time the ranged will die to flare and stack markers since healer priority most of the time is on tanks)
@13:46 I've watched this section so many times. I can't find the telegraph for stone or gaze. The order I see is "Stop > Stack> Move" But when cast, there's a stone cast for spreading after "stop". Also I never even see the gaze go off. Can someone plz help me out here?
13:52 shows stone markers above each player with arrows. 13:56 shows the player targeted with gaze, partially obscured by the boss' cape on the left. Gaze resolves at about 14:12 - you can see the "absolute flash" dodge onscreen.
I'm super late here, so this is more for the benefit of other people digging around in the comments having the same problem: The best way I've found to handle the gaze during Quintuplecast is to pretend that the gaze's telegraph is nothing at all. Sounds crazy, but hear me out--- if you're trying to look out for all the telegraphs in order, you might spend so long looking for the gaze indicator that it disappears, and now you're stuck wondering whether you're still looking for it or if it's moved onto the next telegraph. So if you see nothing, just think, "must have been gaze" and move on, because the person with the eye SHOULD move outside of the group in a very obvious way--- and if you get the eye, you should, well, move outside the group in a very obvious way.
The usual party finder strats are different from what's stated here I find. Usually it's just dps towers and tanks/healers go to their meteor spots (rotate cw from cardinal) for all bahamut tethers . but that could just be a primal data center thing
I'd just earlier today heard for the first time about that "put down a marker pre-fight, everyone stands in a position around it to claim positions" mechanic, and then I see it for the first time in this video. On the Japanese servers, the leader puts out a macro including a layout of positions and everyone just claims their spot via chat. I actually didn't know there was a different way over here.
@@James_T. Yeah, either works, because in both cases everyone is assumed to know the fight well enough that you just need a macro to specify the positions and the finer points of "are we using method A or method B for this part?" and everyone can adapt. I've used both Duty Finder and Party Finder for many successful EX trial clears since I hit 80.
European servers also use macros instead (and PF). I feel like that is just way easier to remember and not mess up positions, compared to NA's marker thing.
@@shedinjask I feel like it could cause the same problems, that is essentially remembering your position (either on marker or by claiming positions). Fortunately I haven't run into too many positional problems while farming mount trials. Some people forgot it during stuff like Hades, Titania and Suzaku, but it has been mostly fine so far. I enjoy this sort of cultural difference though, seeing what works best for people.
just cleared this yesterday and it the biggest clutch i ever have seen team but healer died from ninja then they lb3 and it was that moment the enrage happen the gauge was () when we beat
There is something that I still didn’t understand, that Qiuntuplecast, in this video he did fire(stop), stack, ice(move), and what’s the last one? As was mentioned there are five what is last one that I am missing?
Aziz Aziz in the video it’s fire, spread, stack, look away, and ice. The eye marker is really hard to see sometimes when it’s on someone on the other side of boss and got blocked by him.
Damn im looking back at this and it's like... It feels so easy now It's not comaprable to the amount chaos and shit you have to remember in savages lol
This fight seems super complicated but I promise you fellow wanderer you'll be just fine, get in some practice party's and wipe! I've got the mount at 60 totems and countless faded copies and plates of light. Yall can do this.
The mechanics don't seem that bad, but the hard part is making sure everyone stay alive. Because if you are down even one person, it can cause the entire party to wipe.
@@scholargrizz7071 Oh, I meant like if one person is down, then a lot of the part requires a partner to get through. So it pretty much screws the other people over since they don't have a pairing partner to soak damage.
So was Elidibus actually the "Warrior of Light", or did he just transform into the primal "idea" of the Warrior of Light? (Like the way Ysayle became the "idea" of Shiva?)
Quintuplecast seems to be the hardest mechanic to deal with, I'm not sure I'll be able to memorize 5 consecutive attacks all while dpsing, getting this will be a chore
easiest way to figure this out is stand close as possible in his circle without cleaving your teamates in clock position while looking away, the rest is just knowing if he cast Ice or fire first
The gaze during the quintuple cast is confusing me. I do not know what the tell is for the gaze without the giant eye showing up could someone let me know?
If it helps, it's just a damage debuff for around 30 secs. No damage done to you. But yeah, it's the Eye that pops up on some random player's head The other 4 mechanics are the ones you need to watch out for because they can kill you or your party.
@@Road_to_Dawn I see it. Just happens so fast. I got my clear I think outside out cleaning up my runs the stack marker during quintuple cast gets me now. I guess you cannot step in the hitbox of the WOL you need to stack on his butt.
BLM/WHM is handles a lot better on my server. T/H stay still and DPS rotate to be with them. They take whichever tower spawns at that position then take the next one that spawns just before theirs land. So if your groups spawned 3rd you take 3rd and 7th
Quintuple Cast isn't actually random, there's 5 different patterns. Though, I realize most people won't be able to keep all 5 in memory, but there's at least a good chance that you can remember 1 or 2 and not have to think about it when those come up.
When he casts Imbued Saber, look at his animations to know the element (Earth/Ice/Fire/Holy). The next time he uses Imbued Coruscance, that element will be included in the attack.
Wiped for 3 hours on this in pf today and didn't get further than the absolute beginning of the add phase. Such a hard fight. How people go in and complete this blind is beyond me.
simply: experience. there is nothing new in this fight if you did most of the content the game released over the years. also keeping mental notes of the normal fight helps a lot
Random. You can get used to it. Ignore the Gaze if you need to. It's a 50% damage debuff for 30 secs but it's better than dying. People normally stack near the middle in clock positions so they dont need to move much for light and earth.
I'm still pretty new to raid content in MMOs, even though I'm technically a legacy player. I blitzed through everything with my FC and I guess have yet to get the hang of all these mechanics. I feel like I'm letting everyone down. TnT;
Its really just repeating it enough times to learn what is coming next, I just started raiding about a week ago and was able to clear E5S and have been making good progress here, just watch the videos and maybe play in a practice group a bit if you're concerned about learning with your whole FC watching haha.
I never join PF parties because people is usually like that, but it's better (in my experience) if you open a PF specifying what you want and it will be less toxic... I just open PF with things like "just for fun/learning, expect wipes/no grumps!" lol. But don't give up because of people being mean :(
If you’re on Crystal / Balmung let me know! I’m an elitist, but I’m not an asshole and I would be more than happy to help you with this fight. Let me know :)
Every single practice party I joined had the usual problem of people not knowing what to do before the accorded phase to practice. If you call expecting people to know what they claim to know "elitism", then so be it. Don't join P3 practice parties and then keep messing up mechanics before hand for an hour.
All the blind parties I joined on Tuesday were amazing, they even let me decide on some strats for figuring out the abilities even though they were pretty much guaranteed to wipe us, all in the name of science.
"But by this point I'm sure you know how you handle them"

I left a comment on Iliya suggesting edits for Adss UPTIME, because i know everygodamn PF will REFUSE to adjust for melee uptime, have them sucking their thumb at tower while tank is miles away getting tethers...fksfjsfkljsflsjf
There are so many strats in PF... Adds/BLM/NIN/SMN all have variants... I hope there's a consensus...
ITs frustrating, kinda, yesterday I had that one party insisting to stack in north-east-south-west instead of corners >_>
There's a standard strat at least in my server. Not sure where it came from but everyone is following it so far.
@@asterfield02 yes suddenly here mos groups use that huge 2 part macro as well, i got my kill a few days ago, its gettin better

I know the struggle. Like, I'm sorry I haven't been playing the game as long as you, oh omnipotent burger king in waiting. I'm sorry the fact that I make mistakes just completely ruins your day.
Cleared this the first night and the mount dropped and I won it! I’ve been doing primals since 2.0 and never got this lucky with mounts! This is one of my favourite mechanic fights so far. It’s not so much a dps check, but more of a mechanic check.
Hey gz to winning the Mount! I saw it once in about 10 runs
After 3 weeks of Shiva thats good to hear. And congrats
Holy crap, talk about luck! I managed to get Hades on my fourth clear, but everything else has been a grind. Got Titania's on my 22, but I haven't seen the Ruby dragon drop *at all* and I've cleared it 20 times. I'm going to try and prog SoS in the next few days (if there is a practice group in PF) and I hope to god I am as lucky as you lol!

honestly most guides are pretty equal. however one thing here i think stands out. the 4 split screens when showing the sabers instead of doing one after another i find better to organize it. . . the information vomit on mechanics that can vary but at the same time can get mildly confusing.
nicely done.
God bless you for using the melee uptime strat
Man...going through the Extreme version of this fight was both brutal..but also well worth it..I loved the normal version of the fight from the story and it was honestly one of the best fights. And the music makes it well worth it.

"Have fun with it" I'm about to get yelled at and kicked.
Finally a trial that mixes it up. I think we needed something like this in the game.
All that with mechs that have (largely) consistent and intuitive visual markers. It's good stuff!
thank you this has cleared up so much 💙
Great as always!
Great job as always ;)
You saved us, I managed to defeat him, thank you so much.
@MTQcapture
Regarding the part at around 8:21, shouldn't the heals and tanks get the tether?
@@novachair6476 Yea, I am more accustomed to seeing tanks and healers get the tethers.
@@Maverick0044 Oh okay. Thats another way to put it. I have primarily seen dps getting the towers and others get the tethers. This is interesting.
Yea i’d feel better having tank and heals stack since it keeps healer closer. And uptime on this add is a joke since its burned down pretty easily.
just killed this, damn what a fight, very nice.
woot! thanks for the guide!
I really hope this channel starts posting guides for the ultimates like UCoB and TEA. That would be a godsend
That’s how we did it. Worked well for us ^^
yeah i don't know why they'd complicated it by saying healers tanks blah blah blah when they can just do the set pair
Also, what happens if you have 4 range dps? I know you can set up PF with “no dupes”, but there’s always that possibility
🤔🤔🤔
how you remember all this stuff robots?
Lots of dying lol. You’ll probably time-outs the fight 2-4 times before completion
This is got to be one of the most complicated raids I've ever seen.
My group and I died so many times last night trying this.
We did get to the final phase though.
wow didnt expect uptime strat for adds
That's all mizzteq does. No care for a normal strat for safety. Only uptime. I've seen dps take towers and kill the adds faster than tank/melee on towers (because most of the time the ranged will die to flare and stack markers since healer priority most of the time is on tanks)
I've seen a party try the uptime strat. We always just wipe when the healer doesn't heal the DPS in time. A DPS dying in this phase just isn't ideal.

*WHM casts glare*
xd that whm basically saying if you lived through the dmg you're good
i feel so nauseous after learning this. thank you.
And surprisingly enough many of the clears for their savages and ex runs are done through raid finder not PF though both are used
@@Raziel_Zero ive been in pfs where everyone claims one via chat and it gets really messy imo. marker is way easier to sort out and avoid overlap
Watching this before I run it in 30 minutes XD
you say burst heals but those don't pop right away. Why do healers always get the "adjust" treatment?
just cleared this yesterday and it the biggest clutch i ever have seen team but healer died from ninja then they lb3 and it was that moment the enrage happen the gauge was () when we beat
The eye marker is really hard to see sometimes when it’s on someone on the other side of boss and got blocked by him.
stack (Holy), spread (Earth), stop (Fire), Move (Ice), Gaze/lookaway from player at 14:08 top right
Damn im looking back at this and it's like... It feels so easy now
It's not comaprable to the amount chaos and shit you have to remember in savages lol
Does tanks switch their positions and partners on tank busts?
This fight seems super complicated but I promise you fellow wanderer you'll be just fine, get in some practice party's and wipe!
I've got the mount at 60 totems and countless faded copies and plates of light. Yall can do this.
Great can’t wait to deal with the wipes from this change to the add phase for 1 second of uptime
The mechanics don't seem that bad, but the hard part is making sure everyone stay alive. Because if you are down even one person, it can cause the entire party to wipe.
I mean, that's most ex trials I feel like. Shit can snowball very quickly.
@@scholargrizz7071 Oh, I meant like if one person is down, then a lot of the part requires a partner to get through. So it pretty much screws the other people over since they don't have a pairing partner to soak damage.

No ex trial guides for endwalker?
Awesome guide.
So was Elidibus actually the "Warrior of Light", or did he just transform into the primal "idea" of the Warrior of Light?
(Like the way Ysayle became the "idea" of Shiva?)
the latter. the original WoL was Azem.
The eye does show up, it’s a smaller one above one random player
If it helps, it's just a damage debuff for around 30 secs. No damage done to you. But yeah, it's the Eye that pops up on some random player's head
The other 4 mechanics are the ones you need to watch out for because they can kill you or your party.
@@Road_to_Dawn I see it. Just happens so fast. I got my clear I think outside out cleaning up my runs the stack marker during quintuple cast gets me now. I guess you cannot step in the hitbox of the WOL you need to stack on his butt.
What's the visual cue for earth element in quintuple cast?
Somewhat late, but it's the Earthshaker marker.
just did the trial and we didnt wipe, only now to watch this and im like
"oh nonono"
BLM/WHM is handles a lot better on my server. T/H stay still and DPS rotate to be with them. They take whichever tower spawns at that position then take the next one that spawns just before theirs land. So if your groups spawned 3rd you take 3rd and 7th
Quintuple Cast isn't actually random, there's 5 different patterns. Though, I realize most people won't be able to keep all 5 in memory, but there's at least a good chance that you can remember 1 or 2 and not have to think about it when those come up.
Thnx for guide
This a lot more mechs than I thought it’d be
my head hurts at 5 min, i don t know hot to memorize the rest of this guide
Don’t forget to silence the adds when their cast bar turns red or you’ll die
how do you which elemnt is he going to cast (ICE or fire) Imbued
When he casts Imbued Saber, look at his animations to know the element (Earth/Ice/Fire/Holy). The next time he uses Imbued Coruscance, that element will be included in the attack.
Cleared this blind, but our set up was way less uptime friendly. Thank you MTQ! 🌻
Wait I don't get it, why are you stacking players by roles for LB1? Is that a stack attack? And if so, why healers don't have to stack?
Because it's hard to know which players are getting the attack, just that there's 1 of each getting hit, so we split to make them more organized.
Halfway throught the guide and i forgot the start of the fight..how is this fun
It's not..this isn't fun. I wish they would allow mount drops in easier content and just have a reskin of the mounts for the sweaty try hards.
He blocked our damage LB3, so he does that, we will try with lb2 and 1 later
im confused about quintuple cast are those casts depending on the entire fight or is it still random?
Fully random I believe
Random. You can get used to it. Ignore the Gaze if you need to. It's a 50% damage debuff for 30 secs but it's better than dying.
People normally stack near the middle in clock positions so they dont need to move much for light and earth.
No one is covering his Hallowed Ground on the players limit brake ^^. It can cause some wipes
Tried it. failed horribly. decided I'm not a hardcore raider.
I'm still pretty new to raid content in MMOs, even though I'm technically a legacy player. I blitzed through everything with my FC and I guess have yet to get the hang of all these mechanics. I feel like I'm letting everyone down. TnT;
Its really just repeating it enough times to learn what is coming next, I just started raiding about a week ago and was able to clear E5S and have been making good progress here, just watch the videos and maybe play in a practice group a bit if you're concerned about learning with your whole FC watching haha.
Just pratice and don't give up. You can do It!
I still get confused from this trial but I kind of want to give up cause people are being eliteholes in fresh prog parties... like come on..
I never join PF parties because people is usually like that, but it's better (in my experience) if you open a PF specifying what you want and it will be less toxic... I just open PF with things like "just for fun/learning, expect wipes/no grumps!" lol. But don't give up because of people being mean :(
Yes exactly! Like damn, this patch hasn’t even been out a week and I already have been encountering Elite-holes 🤦🏼♀️ ridiculous.
Honestly, I just stop casting for all of Quint because its the only way I can manage the to do the mechanics right.
