Easy trick for Theological Fatalism 2: the only thing you need to remember during Despair Unforgotten is which step you had stack/donut on. If your rings match that step, you stack mid. If your rings are either of the other two, you go out (since flare and aoe are the same thing)
Hopefully it shouldn't be an issue, but if someone dies during the mechanic, it's possible to get donut/stack twice, regardless of role. If someone's dead, be careful of prepositioning for the 3rd mechanic, as putting a donut on the outside will likely lead to a wipe.
Recent level 90 here and I just wanted to report that this explanation of five heads was so good it helped me get my first clear. In fact after that the group wiped because I was the only one that got it right!! Was struggling with this mechanic until your great explanation, thank you!!
Oh dude, you have no idea how long i've been waiting for a guide creator to do like these little diagram simulations. Instant sub and recommendation to all my friends!!! Keep up the great work!
A great tip for double fatalism where you have blue planets first into red planets, is to use the second blue planet to get knocked into the safe spot for the first red planet explosion. This means you won’t be sweating trying to get to the safe spot, and just need to run across after the first explosion to dodge the second one. Great video!
The rule-based explanation of the 1, 2, 3 ring mechanics was very helpful. I’m working on this right now and have been struggling to figure out all of those rotations in the time you have. Thanks!
How did you know which goes off first. The red kills me every time when it comes after the two blue planets. Is it something I’m missing that tells you which planet is first or is it just a quick reaction thing.
I'm stunned at how fast this went up, got my clear this morning TY Hector! Your guides have been the best for savage this tier also. Looking forward to seeing more :)
Thank you so much for having this together so quickly! Got my first ever day 1 extreme clear off the back of this guide and two hours in Party Finder. :)
Actually finally let me sit and study the 5 head part and figure it out before just proceeding. Explained it well. I'm down w/ the entire fight but this part is still making me want to die, and I've watched/read SO many guides on it now. Admittedly, I only came here for Twinsong's Apporhoia, but this is the most helpful explanation of it I've found so far.
Glad I could help! I actually made a shorter video just on the 5 head mechanic because I similarly found it such a pain. It might help make it even easier: ua-cam.com/video/7YwYQQHMeN8/v-deo.html
@@HectorHectorson well you're just a saint ^.^ I've shared them to a couple discords as I'm still running learning parties with a few core newbies and pf folk. I just couldn't understand the theological fatalism linked to the head even though I knew what the mechanic was about. The tip you provide is FIRE! Thanks a lot !
For Fatalism iirc the rings spin at a different speed - faster spin is the first planets to collide Knowing that might give you another second or two to run towards/away from it
your explaination of theo fatal was SPOT ON that helped me learn the mechanic for myself. I hate having to follow ppl cause I feel like I cheat the mech if I dont learn it on my own. Thank you!

Thank you for this! I am our raid teams Call Out Gal, and this guide makes it really helpful for me to do this better! This makes me confident I can do this- even with my colorblind arse unable to see that well! XD
Hi Hector, i love all you guide vid, very nice work! if i may suggest one thing is a timestamp, maybe next to the boss castbar. don't need to be exact/keep rolling, but only like this mech will happen around 2.30 or something
9:04, was doing this on DNC and forgot what I had first so I just went halfway between edge and middle and immediately used En Avant to gap close, it works but you literally gotta press any kind of ability like that (DRG/RPR) IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU SEE THE MARKER. Even then it can be sketchy but it is doable with the "right" job and good ping.
Doing double fatalism on latam ping was.... well, I'm certainly glad I decided to play WAR for this. Even with a handful of clears, I'm still not super confident on a lot of these mechanics 😭
My brain is too small for this. I guess I peaked at Zodiark, Hydalyn and P1S LMAO "The number of rings is how many mechanics it will rewind" Please no. "Double Fatalism" Two words I did not wanna hear together. "A second double fatalism" Yoshi why must you do this to me ;-;
@@MatteoB01 Really? Because it sure doesn't look like it. I'll try it this weekend when I have more time but just looking at the guide it looks intimidating as hell, especially all the randomness and memory bits
The enrage on this boss looks super cool btw. A nice consolation prize 😂. I think she drops Ultima Thule on our heads or something? I can't remember what the name of the damage was when it popped up, but it did 9,999,999 damage I believe 😁
You broke the lore. She doesn't suck aether in her mouth. She feeds on emotion and uses Dynamis instead of magic, a major difference. But great guide, keep up the work! :)
The 5-heads with the rings are what's stopping me from getting a clear. I've seen enrage once, but every group I've been in has struggled either at those danged heads or the triple trouble after. This helped me figure it out a little more. The middle head I can figure out almost no problem, but figuring out the safe zone donut is what's killing me the most. Even when I guess the correct half to stand, I almost always get the wrong head. >m
It's definitely one of the hardest mechanics in the fight. I've just put a mini-guide going over ways to solve it quicker, so hopefully that helps. Good luck getting the clear!
Put number markers on the intercards, so odds and evens are opposite each other. If your first safe spot is on an odd number, then your safe spot for rings will be the one where the odd/even of the rings matches the marker. If your first safe spot is on an even number, your safe spot will be the one where the odd/even of the rings is the opposite of the marker.
Great guide. I just find it disappointing that the final boss is visually this simple, and that there is no phase change or cinematic sequencing of fights like with Ultima, Thordan, Shinryu, and Hades. This fight is just one scene. How unfortunate really. Ultima; you had essentially 2 phases with two different arenas and different mechanics. Thordan; you had to go through all of the Knights after Thordan, and then Thordan AGAIN but it was like a completely different dimension and fight. Shinryu; you get blasted up to another area and then get to fight on his back. Hades; you have to fight Ascian forms, different phases of Hades, and a climactic reddish fire themed, explosive ending to the battle. Endsinger; Just do a few mechanics and she's dead...
Definitely agree. The new mechanics were very fun to decipher and are still fun when reclearing, but a shame that there's essentially nothing new visually.
All the fights you mentioned were great the first time you did them but the novelty of it gets old quick. These extreme trials are designed to be farmed with no limitation, having forced phase changes with adds or cutscenes in between is annoying and adds unnecessary time to the fight. Endsinger is my favorite because it doesn't have any of those. It's a straight forward fight with no interruptions but is also filled with mechanics that keep you wary.
I enjoyed Hades when I was first farming/learning it but I agree that having to deal with the forced cutscene _every single time_ got old fast. If it wasn't for that, he would top WoL extreme as my favorite primal fight.
@@vielara Yeah it does suck to farm it when there's a CS in there. But, we're also talking about the final bosses for expansions which is just 1 of the 7 EX Trials, so being that they ARE the final bosses, I believe the acceptance weighs out. It's fine if all the others are more simple stylistically speaking.
i managed to blind prog this with one of my static's. it took us 2 and a half hours not long after the patch released but heck... twinsong was a brain twister.
Thanks so much! Theological Fatalism is the only part that still confuses me; is there a good way to quickly tell which way the head is going to point?
While waiting for rings to appear, I try to mentally prep for the middle head. I visualise the following: 1 as cleaving where it's already facing 2 as cleaving 90 degrees counter clockwise (back where it came from) 3 as cleaving behind where the head is facing. This makes it quicker to solve when the rings finally show up. if you haven't yet, have a look at my mini-guide at this exact mechanic: ua-cam.com/video/7YwYQQHMeN8/v-deo.html
The first to spawn in each pair is random, but there is a trick. Look at the rings for one of the planets; if they’re spinning fast, that’s going to explode first; if they’re spinning slow, it’s exploding second (meaning the opposite pair is exploding first). Hope this helps!
Wish I saw this before I got basically blacklisted from every single group cause I kept screwing up the theological fatalism 2 mechanic and wiping everyone... 😞 I really wanted the lynx too...
From what I can tell, you have to react. The only pattern is that the planet type will be the same as the Elegeia that just happened. It means you unfortunately have to stay middle, pop sprint, and wait for the first set of planets to rewind.
I find it easiest to simplify it and mumble to myself. During the combo with all of the flares/spreads/stacks, I repeat aloud “in” then “in, out” then “in, out, out”. Then when i get my rings, I just work backwards. Helps to counteract my rubbish memory! XD
