Sammy 74, Gary 61, Nuno 55. These guys have aged very well (understatement for Sammy and Nuno) and so have their voices/ability.

Munis rhythm playing is just off the hook that’s why he’s such a great lead player he can do similar things and they sound different because his phrasing and sense of melody is world class and variable

To see ex's performing together and still getting on is impressive. Very well kept secret. Also the reason that EVH sacked Gary, he didnt like Gary bringing his partners on the road etc. Both NB and GC swing both ways. Dont believe me, the proof is out there.

I only realized relatively recently how good Extreme's harmonies were whilst watching a video of them live from Donnington '94. I was actually there but don't remember much about it.

That "underrated" singing sold their most successful record. It's called More Than Words. Check out the sales of that single and it's massive worldwide success.

I went to see Extreme last night at Hampton Beach. Almost 40 years later and they’re still kicking ass! Their skill and energy level is absolutely amazing. 🤙🏼

Not only these people are extremely talented but there’s true humility. And their albums (starting from the 2d one) are masterpieces that will get all the deserved recognition in time.
Stunning that Sammy is as old as he is and that "youthful". I'd swear he was 55. They both sound great and Nuno is just inhuman....

Talented, smart, down to earth authentic guys, all 3 of them.
I met Nuno and Gary in 1990 when they were performing in Joplin, MO during the Pornograffiti tour.
Such humble and gracious guys. We spent a good 20 minutes just talking about music and bands we grew up with.
Brought my Circus magazine that had the tablature for Mutha. Nuno read through it and said it was pretty accurate. Then both he and Gary signed it.
That article and a pic of the three of us hangs in my home office to this very day.

😭u have made me SO happy! Backing up the people that I feel in my heart r good people. I used to get the new mags. Metal Edge was a fave. I was jealous that Gerry got to meet so many cool guys. I had all the KISS special editions. But outgrew that part. Now I would love to flip through all of the old ones. Even the teen ones. U can find some articles or pics online, but it's not that same.

Nuno Bettencourt may possibly be the most talented guitarist of that generation. His complexity in extremes songs are pretty unprecedented. Brian May said that he could never play the guitar solo for get the funk out. Awesome interview.

I love Extreme I wore out my tapes in High School.
I always fought for people to understand Extreme was a great hard rock band with great harmonies and clear messages, not one hit pop wonders.
Nuno by far is my all time favorite guitarist.
He has this great funky rhythm that is truly unique ..

Absolutely the best, best, very best episode of the series. I’m sure off camera, they warmed their chops up, but that does not guarantee by any means that it goes smoothly. I expected Nuno to be top notch, but vocals are tricky. I’ve heard many famous singers sound horrible when put on the spot, so give those dudes their credit. They were having a blast doing what they love doing, and they sounded great. Hey Sammy, what makes you happy? He answered his own question.
Wow. Nuno is still a fantastic guitarist, and spouting great wisdom as well. And with Gary and Sammy singing, that was an excellent song at the end. I am surprised and impressed! Very cool guys! 😎🙂

@@showcrazy2139 Oh yeah, when I said he is still an excellent guitarist I include the solo on Rise, and the live sit in with The Baby Animals (who were crap but Nuno was still great), and his solo Midnight Express. He's still so fast! On acoustic as well. 🙂
He grew to become the absolute best. For me, he even better today than back in the day.

I had Kid Ego on CD in '91? I have Nuno with other bands and charity events on a playlist. The audio ain't great, but he is. I think his daughter is an actress.

SAw the name Vito Brattain….man, talk about under rated guitarists. Everybody Saying Nuno is underrated, true, but really? I mean, everybody knows Nuno. Hes a legend and still going. Ask people about Vito, pretty sure most people just don’t know. Unless you play guitar, or a white lion fan, chances are you never heard of him. Anyways, great musician, and totally underrated.
