Nuno is one of my all-time faves.... and now, with Edward having left us.... Nuno kind of carries the torch for me, in some respects. What a player. What a song-writer! Amazing talent, and he just oozes with cool. And it was a nice treat to see Kylie doing this story. She's a delight to watch, and listen to. A good interviewer, and fun! Can't wait to see this on Axis TV!
Glad you enjoyed it and you too @tammyf.7864 if you bothered to listen its not really about the nail polish its about the process but sure, I could have just gone over the same old ground again... this is just a snippet of a whole 2 days I spent with him where we went back to his childhood home and delved into a whole lot more.
To see Nuno teach her More than words takes me back 28 years (!!) to my guitar teacher's shitty room.. I grew up on his music, and to hear him speaks so freely about everything is a delight.
hahaha,,, it was quite an experience... If you are based int he US check out the series on AXS TV as we go back to the house where he grew up and wrote that song and we play it together... it blew my mind!
One amazing year Nuno and I constantly ran into each other. The pool at the Candy Store in Ft Lauderdale (twice).., the first class cabin sitting next to each other twice going to Boston and once leaving Boston to Fort Lauderdale. He and his bandmates were super chill, and Nuno is amazing to talk to. I also play guitar and questioned him on his practice techniques, his influences, the struggles of keeping a band together through hard times, etc. i can tell you from my limited time in his presence I could tell he loved talking about music in general, and guitar most of all. I will always go see Nuno when he plays SoFla. Great person and musical genius. Long alive Nuno Bettancourt!
Great interview. He has been one of my heroes since 1990 and feels like he could be the exception to the 'never meet your heroes' rule. Such a good human being and an amazing talent
This is definitely a great interview, but Nuno's best interview so far - that is, if you don't mind f-bombs going off every 10 seconds - is with Rick Beato here: ua-cam.com/video/sYpKg6HR1z8/v-deo.html
Wow, Kylie - you did an amazing interview here, I have hardly ever seen Nuno so relaxed and talkative... - great questions and space he had, and of course the chemistry during the interview.. - really top notch..; I can only assume he was genuinely happy that he didn't have to go over the typical us guitar nerd questions... :-) - Greetings, Markus
I'm a drummer from Brazil, and i moved to Portugal 🇵🇹 since 2019,i love Nuno's guitar sounds, and his technique, this guy have a power in your hands, really a nice guy. Thank you for share this video!!!
“Do what it tell you!” Lmfao 😂😂 I grew up in Boston watching nuno before they were signed. I was too young to get the in clubs so I’d sneak in with my friend (who was friends with Nuno) and we’d watch sound check, then sort of disappear until they played the show. He was the real deal back then and it was pretty magic to watch him, I had their demo tapes and I’d ask him to play me one of his solos at a gig or two, so I could try and figure it out …and he’d smile (and maybe chuckle a little) thenjust play it…I was captivated and very inspired. Dude is the shit.
Nice indeed! - Love Nuno's story about the warmouth guitarparts and the thing with him collecting his "soul" in the instrument - Gave me chills and I just nodded along. I feel him! What a kind and reflected person. Tnx for a nice video! ✌😎
Man, how can you not love Nuno? He’s such an awesome guy! He’s carrying the EVH torch. Van Halen and EXTREME are so connected. From Gary Cherone singing on Van Halen’s “Van Halen lll” album, to Nuno having his EVH Bumblebee N4 guitar. I would love to meet Nuno and I’m glad you did, Kylie. Also I know you probably have to plan to meet with a guitarist, but maybe you can do a video with Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang?
As someone from the north shore of Massachusetts where nuno lived. Seeing this brings back so many memories of growing up in the 80s and 90s and playing with my old band. Never met nuno, but maybe one day. Awesome video 🤘🤘
I HAVE A TON OF RESPECT FOR NUNO.. HE AND I ARE THE SAME AGE.. I CAN RELATE TO EVERYTHING HE SAID IN THIS INTERVIEW..HE SEEMS LIKE A REALLY RELATABLE GUY..THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO.
1:47 He keeps some picks taped to the back on his guitar. That is a great idea, never saw that! Thanks for this Kylie!! Lotsa Nuno love over here in Montreal Canada!
This is definitely a great interview, but Nuno's best interview so far - that is, if you don't mind f-bombs going off every 10 seconds - is with Rick Beato here: ua-cam.com/video/sYpKg6HR1z8/v-deo.html
I saw that one too.. it was a more "professional" level interview. This one was more street level, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to see a different, softer side of Nuno. Where else are we going to find out why he only has nail polish on his left hand? LOL!@@rvsrclothing
No truer words spoken than what nuno is saying about doing the thing you love and the fans enjoying what you love.. fans are sharp and can read through false intentions and if you don't love what you are doing how can others really vibe off of it..
"Dramagods" as they became to be known - Love album, that no one seems to know about. I think a couple songs on that album became parts of Extremes Saudades de Rock, including Losing You. I had a copy of that album that I had to import actually, such a great album. Although I think the Population One album was 100% Nuno on all instruments. I really wish they would have taken more of a natural approach to Six, but it is what it is. Super excited to see them here in three weeks. :)
Loved this. Been following his entire career. This was a great friendly interview. Was waiting for Nuno to "go off" during the more than words lesson.....DO AS I SAY. Didn't disappoint. haha. subbed.
🔥🔥🔥This is so cool ! 🤩 Great job Kylie, such a friendly talk with a Legend ! The guy is amazing just by nature and the atmosphere here is lovely Thks 🙏🙏🙏
I've met a lot of famous people - mostly musicians - and the coolest people in person are Nuno, Zakk Wylde, Gus G. and John Corabi. Nuno in particular - I will never forget - he ushered me into a sitting space just like somebody I've known all my life.
Wow. Wow, wow!! I love how you interact with Nuno♥️♥️♥️♥️ You do such a great job of getting him to open up. And you got to play his guitar AND paint his nails!!!!! OMG 😱 😱 😱 thank you for this Kylie 😍😍😍 You are the best 🥰♥️😍🤘
This is a Really good interview. Nuno is a Great person, not a "diva", but still, you made this feel like a "fan" like me or anyone else was in this position, but not "geeking out"... That's a skill, well done...
I have been a huge Nuno fan since I first heard him and have always thought he is way underrated! I saw him play on the Generation Axe tour back when it came through town and in my opinion he easily stole the show! One of the greats and he hasn't slowed down a bit and has only gotten better! And dam it the guy hasn't aged a bit! Hes like 57yrs old and still looks like hes in his mid 20s!
Cool interview, Eddie was always my man after Clapton and now that Eddie is gone and I saw Nuno was a huge Eddie fan, he has become that guy to me.. I have always loved their music, but it is a bit more than that now and he even pays some tribute to EVH from time to time. Loved the childhood story part of it also, give deep appreciation to what he has accomplished.
I wanna see the whole thing! That was sooo interesting and authentic! Awesome. The problem with all these paywalls... I don't care to pay for content... but often you can't purchase whatever subscription is needed, if you're not in the USA. Same with Sirius XM and similar stuf. Too bad! I would have loved to see this! And I would gladly pay for it!
Just to fill in one small detail about the 4N since I owned it originally and used it for 14 years. It's a 1991 model. I like what you brought to the interview. I learned a few new things ... questions I'd nver thought much about. 4N... only one guitar... and the nail thing. Thank you for sharing!
ah thank you Greg, that makes me really happy as Nuno has been interviewed so many times its hard to try and make it different so pleased there were some new little bits in there
Saying he wanted to help with his mom’s rent, this man/great is just ❤️ and nothing else.
Can't believe Nuno was not distracted at all.. The guy is a pro and great guitarist.. 👍👍
Just means he already had her ....😂
No tits. No distraction.
The chemistry in this interview is palpable. Great interview.
ah the good ole days of being a rock star.............been there.......a long time ago LOL
Watch his interviews with Rick Beato. Hes intense, fun, excited and still passionate about playing nearing 60.
So beautiful man ❤
That's just Nuno.
Using the word palpable is Uber cringe
Nuno making sure his Mom was taken care of speaks volumes of him as a person!
A man who loves his mom more than anything. ♥
Nuno is one of my all-time faves.... and now, with Edward having left us.... Nuno kind of carries the torch for me, in some respects. What a player. What a song-writer! thank you so much Jimmy... I totally agree with you on Nuno carrying the torch for Eddie, his playing is off the scale good.
I feel like I'm unintentionally insulting other players when I say it but to me Nuno really is the last of the breed.
Indeed, One of the Baddest yet Coolest & Gracious guys out there! Much luv for Nuno
There’s something about Nuno, every interview I watch I watch till the end and never get bored.Genuine article
Nuno, Nuno, Nuno, can't get enough if this amazing musician, extraordinary guitarist, and just all around awesome gentleman.
Nuno interviews are always so much fun to watch. Him and Ringo Star are my favorite interviewees.
its great when a person can take a simple question and know how to expand on it to make the answer much more than answering what was asked.
He's so down to earth, love his honesty
I’m so glad you went over nail polish for 5 months in this interview. All these years I’ve been wondering why he paints one hand. 😮😮😮😮
I've always wondered that, too!
Glad you enjoyed it and you too @tammyf.7864 if you bothered to listen its not really about the nail polish its about the process but sure, I could have just gone over the same old ground again... this is just a snippet of a whole 2 days I spent with him where we went back to his childhood home and delved into a whole lot more.

couldn't of said it better!!!
I think they call that stalking lol
Great interview. He has been one of my heroes since 1990 and feels like he could be the exception to the 'never meet your heroes' rule. Such a good human being and an amazing talent
This is THE BEST interview with Nuno I think that I have ever seen.
Breath in, breath out! Very mesmerizing sight!! ❤
I was about to say this 😂
I think the recording guy was focusing elsewhere than the guitar 😅
Nino is such a great dude. He just lays it out and fun to listen to. Cool interview!! 🤘🤘
Nuno is a great dude as well 😀🤟
Is Nino the interview er? She is cool. Nuno is the best though. Great interview
Nino

el nino es un tipo genial
What a great interview. I absolutely love the story with Layne Staley. AiC is my favorite band and I totally feel what Nuno's saying.
Thank you! And yes, that Layne story is brilliant
This is definitely a great interview, but Nuno's best interview so far - that is, if you don't mind f-bombs going off every 10 seconds - is with Rick Beato here: ua-cam.com/video/sYpKg6HR1z8/v-deo.html
greats can recognise greats!
Cool clip. Nuno is awesome. Always has been. Great player, great guy.

@@tammyf.7864 I was about to comment the same. That Rick Beato interview with Nuno was one of the best I've ever seen, of any musician.

Sneakin' into soundcheck? You probably inspired the "Mutha" video! LOL....
This man doesn't age! Legend, and an Enigma wrapped up in sick guitar riffs and passion of the pure sounds!
I know... he is insane!
One of my favorite guitarists of all time. Just amazing and unique. And a really cool dude.
he totally is!
Great interview BTW. @@KylieOlsson
Nice job on the interview! Nuno's my fav! He's soooo passionate! Super intense energy. Draws me in so deep. Love it!
