Kinda surprised to see the Magic Spoon sponsorship after Linus had harsh critisms of Rhett & Link’s cereal in the trying youtuber foods video. Specifically because he complained about the small portions and how they tasted bad for the money, which happen to be the main critiques of Magic Spoon. I know that the filming schedules etc. might not have had this video filmed after that one, and I doubt Linus tried Magic Spoon himself, otherwise I bet he wouldn’t like it.
They have a solid refund policy (at least from the sponsor read, idk) and it’s a wacky nutritional profile for a cereal - I would kind of expect any with 3x the protein vs carbs to kind of taste like cardboard tbh and be weirdly expensive

Personally, I wouldn't mind and actually would LOVE a 9" 1440p 120Hz 21:9 OLED gaming handheld. A tablet with detachable controllers would be even better. Battery life would probably suffer, so a replaceable battery or really fast charging would be a MUST in such a device to keep it light enough to be comfortable to handle. The best part? It could run Android for smartphones at this aspect ratio. No need to run buggy Android for tablets. 16:9 content wouldn't be perfect, but that hasn't stopped Smartphones.
Wanted to ask something I've noticed, could the stutter in games be explained by Windows being in power saving mode? I noticed this during the gameplay in the video at 7:27 (taskbar icon) and 10:10 (very obviously enabled), and then in the explanation for the software in 10:51 (taskbar again) This could also affect the max brightness but I'm not sure if that's default behavior of power saving.
The controllers on the side there are just for when you dont have anywhere to put it down, like on public transport. Its pretty clearly meant to be used in stand mode with the controllers detatched most of the time.
You should give the legion go another... go... I'm curious if the software and firmware updates they have been pushing make any difference in performance, and / usability. :D
Imo Ark is a sleeper GPU. I'm willing to bet the hardware is well done but the drivers will continue to unlock more and more performance. I trust Intel with drivers FAR AND AWAY more than amd
They did volume up and down like the iPad does. I get it on a iPhone or iPad mini where you use it in portrait, but a 12.9" iPad Pro? You never consume media in portrait mode.
All it needs is a folio style keyboard screen cover. Speaking of, no one has done like a keyboard mount for a steam deck or comparable systems, have they?
So from what I gather with handheld gaming PCs, most are on Gen 3 or 4 with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chips (albeit, some are gen 1 with their own version, but the idea has evolved since the earlier implementations enough to run fairly decent). The Intel ones on the other hand, feel as if they're more like Gen 1 and have to play catch-up, because the Arc GPUs are still better than the older Intel video chipsets, but still need a few updates to iron out the bugs and fps inconsistencies.

Seeing how the usb ports are blocked, how the joystick placement interfere with your hands, and how the volume button is placed at a weird place, we can definitely see that this was first designed as a tablet and not a gaming handheld

It's great how the Miniot Wheel is a decoration piece for the videos background. Such an interesting and inaccesible device. Will there be some presentation?

@@t.n.-js6eiyep it does, it deseable the fingertp authentication or something like that but there are a workaround to solve this, there are ppl using the x1 with Linux in the Discord.
Appreciate the attention to detail on the Core Ultra using 6 P Cores!
The audio on this video seems to change after the first 30 seconds. Using different mics or something?
I dunno what the issue is with the big screen. I love it. I want more like this. 7 inch screens you can barely see any detail.
Makes the product stupid by design
Laptop with keyboard and controller miles better
In fact idk why people even like handhelds
...are you blind?
The weight
Damn can’t wait till you discover laptops
@@dontmatter4423 you can’t understand why people would rather get comfy in bed with a handheld rather than setting up a gaming laptop and controller? or riding the train? or something quick while they’re taking a break from work?
Did they have to use a fallback recording for audio?
Wait are we editing out Linus dropping things now? Because I want to see all the drops LOL
12:06 FHD+ could still work for a device like this. It is heavy (789g + controllers = 987g?) and you would put it on a table anyway.
It's around 800grams with the controllers.
Actually like the idea and execution! Looks good! Hopefully there comes a version with an AMD APU 😇
My question is could you plug a regular controller into it when its set up like a laptop? I like the portable idea but i don't like the joycon style controller scheme
With bluetooh?? Yeah not a problem… o have it and don’t like too much that controllers, i prefer to pair a ps5 dualsense and its alot better for me
For a second I thought Linus was making fun of how deaf people talk 😂😂
It's a nice idea in theory and I still love mine. However there are many units with charging issues, eGPU not working, difficult bios update and many other problems and their support is almost non-existent.
And the lack of security because onexconsole disable all the Windows securitys for their software that the AV Marks as virus lol.
Buuut… i still love mine too, the screen its soooo beauty, i also have the egpu and at least for me works excelent thanks God, and with the last bios and edc Patch update my x1 dosnt get hot anymore.
So i still like it but yea it have ALOT of thigs that must improve to be perfect, and Many are software issues so i expect that 1nb solve it.
@@bakedbeanfanclub plus, if you have dietary restrictions, they accommodate some of those.
@@bakedbeanfanclubI tried it and it was fine to eat.
I mean. I wouldn't really care if I didn't like the cereal. I'd still take the sponsorship. 😂
1:25 I’m this far in wondering what’s up with the audio in this video, sounds like talking through a piece of paper or something, somewhat muffled/underwater etc. no like.
> I accidentally dropped it
And no one was surprised 😅 0:57
Actually yeah, the comment went over my head and instead my brain said "oh yeah must be pretty heavy"
Curious to hear your take on the recently released version with the AMD chip
You should yell at Jake for his loud exhaust. Not because it bothered me or anything, but you should always give people that have obnoxiously loud exhausts a hard time.
Anyone with a loud exhaust is selfish, nobody wants to hear your car from inside their house.
@@gobnujinten1933Better then a high pitch electric whine
@@hitmanslayer3003 when an electric car is properly driving, you only hear the tyres rolling on the tarmac. That whine is an artificial noise at low speed to warn passengers. Never said stock exhaust on icb are too loud, only then they're modified, especially on daily runners.
@gobnujinten1933 stay mad in ur toaster 😂
i'm pretty impressed by the progress made by theses devices. few years ago they were just constantly crashing at any game.
As a 6’3 dude the large form factor is actually a bonus for me. My steam deck oled is nice but does feel a little small in my hand sometimes
This is a really cool concept I like it
Is it weird I don't trust reviews with products when the company knows they are shipping a product for review?
It's not weird, hand picked golden samples being sent out to reviewers is absolutely a thing that happens
0:57 admits to dropping
Hi Patty! Great content per usual, thanks for sharing your experience!!!!
0:56 of course you did
Wanted to ask something I've noticed, could the stutter in games be explained by Windows being in power saving mode? I noticed this during the gameplay in the video at 7:27 (taskbar icon) and 10:10 (very obviously enabled), and then in the explanation for the software in 10:51 (taskbar again)
This could also affect the max brightness but I'm not sure if that's default behavior of power saving.
I for one love the large screen
The controllers on the side there are just for when you dont have anywhere to put it down, like on public transport. Its pretty clearly meant to be used in stand mode with the controllers detatched most of the time.
you would be better off with a separate controller, its basically a gaming laptop that they decided to put controllers on the side of
You should give the legion go another... go... I'm curious if the software and firmware updates they have been pushing make any difference in performance, and / usability. :D
ARK GPU -> closed the video XD
Imo Ark is a sleeper GPU. I'm willing to bet the hardware is well done but the drivers will continue to unlock more and more performance.
I trust Intel with drivers FAR AND AWAY more than amd
They did volume up and down like the iPad does. I get it on a iPhone or iPad mini where you use it in portrait, but a 12.9" iPad Pro? You never consume media in portrait mode.
the intro has the correct audio but the rest of the video is this muffeled garbage
All it needs is a folio style keyboard screen cover.
Speaking of, no one has done like a keyboard mount for a steam deck or comparable systems, have they?
nevermind they absolutely have done that, the maniacs.
why do they say 16:10? why inflate numbers? is it not 8:5?
So from what I gather with handheld gaming PCs, most are on Gen 3 or 4 with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chips (albeit, some are gen 1 with their own version, but the idea has evolved since the earlier implementations enough to run fairly decent). The Intel ones on the other hand, feel as if they're more like Gen 1 and have to play catch-up, because the Arc GPUs are still better than the older Intel video chipsets, but still need a few updates to iron out the bugs and fps inconsistencies.
13:43 that was my problem with the iPad Pro but in reverse I expected it to be like the older iPads so that took awhile getting used to
It looks like a fully kitted out PSOne or GameCube with screen, battery and cd storage. Rad as hell
Completely off topic returnal is one of the most underrated games of all time that game is truly a masterpiece
, but the PC port leaves much to be desired.
@@sussusamogus4714 It was pretty rough when it originally got ported but it feels pretty damn good now I get damn good performance now with a 6700 non xt and 3600
I really like the new graphs! They are easier to read at a glance.
Will you make another review of the amd version of this device
Thank you
So this is just a clone of the old Razer Edge tablet from like 2013 right. Size, format, detachable controllers (even though the edge was more like a controller... frame?)
I just a had weird Eureka moment, what if we take the recent display ltt reviewed with no back light and slap it on a handheld super low power consumption tune it to meet gaming response times and next thing you know we have decent away from wall time
It’s kinda cool though and I love anyone trying to do something different .
This is what netbooks in 2010 wanted to be, but never could be.
Big and no batter life but this the coolest thing I’ve bought in a long time
Just buy the adapter for the controller so it doesn’t have to be attached to the screen and this is perfect for someone who works security with nothing to do at the job
Does the TV in the background have the word "Live" burned in? Maybe from WANshow?
@0:26
Glad to see yall are paying attention and censored it for the deaf community too... 😅😂
So it’s a ASUS ROG flow Z13 with a controller around it?
Obviously smaller screen but looks so similar
1:07 what happened to sound? it sounds like computer generated
Is the split controller "combinable" and works detached? I mean this thing has a kickstand and I guess it would work better as a "portable" rather than a handheld
Damn it, next time I strap a controller on my laptop and call it handheld gaming PC
How is the take where Linus drops the thing not in the final edit? What other Linus drops are you hiding from us?
Perfect size, well done.
I built this myself. Mobapad switch controllers (even nfc and motion!) with a tablet and a 3d printed rail system. I stream games with moonlight/sunshine to it or play some directly on the tablet. perfect for emulation including switch!
At 16:03 he said "Wifi 6e is good but not the best " but does windows 11 support wifi 7 ?
Seeing how the usb ports are blocked, how the joystick placement interfere with your hands, and how the volume button is placed at a weird place, we can definitely see that this was first designed as a tablet and not a gaming handheld
Wow, I hate where they put the USB-C ports. I could be wrong but it looks like the cable might be in the way of my fingers hitting the trigger/bumper while charging.
I hope that meant to say 20V instead of 20W. 1:03
20W PD on a 100W charger is.. interesting.
4:36 Volume up on the right? Which planet are you from?
It's great how the Miniot Wheel is a decoration piece for the videos background. Such an interesting and inaccesible device. Will there be some presentation?
the screen is bigger but the gpu isn't more powerful so there is room for improvement, maybe the os itself, if playstation or xbox make more efficient use of the power, they can come to the market with great products.
"I accidentally dropped it during a previous take...."
No, you EVENTUALLY dropped it Linus! 😂 There's a big difference in this circumstance.
I feel bad for loss control having to write up, catalogue and record items when they get uhhh...."tested by gravity" 😉😉 😅
"thats not piracy, thats a workaround" i proceed to get a youtube ad right after
I could genuinely see this being used by students who need a laptop but also want a handheld gaming pc, or business folks. The surface style pc was popular at my university, so seeing a gaming themed one could genuinely gain some ground over laptops for people who want controllers. Basically the main downsides are just battery life and weight
Wait, if the controller came as a set with the condole, can't we play 1st perspn shooter game using both keyboard/mouse and controller?
I mean left hand on controller for easier movement, and right hand pn mouse for shooting and aiming?
