Thanks for having me over to the shop for some trouble shooting! Honored the one and only John Malecki did such an awesome build around the "Servita". We have had a ton of fun designing and building the Servita over the last year, and are leaving it as an open platform for others to build on top of. (Wish I had thought of the glass thing for my table)
Love it Dan!!!
LETS GO DAN!!! HECK YA!!!
Dude!!! I have to get this!! I'm known as MacGyver and this would be one helluva table starter
A swing arm with a hose could possibly eliminate the spillage. Great work.
@@feltronI was thinking that as well, it would just need linkage to the lift mechanism (plus safety switches) to prevent the lift from rising in case of arm failure
Just a pro tip from a former bartender: instead of leaving the bottle of (whatever liquor) open with the tube in it, drill a tightly fitting hole in the bottle cap to fit the hose thru. The reason to do that is to seal the bottle so that the actual alcohol doesn't evaporate, both losing the purity of the liquor and causing the wood on the inside to bubble, discolor, and rot. Also, drill a small relief hole so that air can get in while the liquid escapes thru the tube.
Just a thought.
Or include a couple standard bottle caps that have been modified to accept the hose and have the small relief hole.
Fun fact: push the tube all the way to the bottom like a straw and completely seal the top. Yes it will create a vacuum in the bottle but it's not going to be enough to crack or break the bottle. That's how spray bottles and dispensing bottles on a commercial dishwashing machine work.
If you look closely at the very end of the video, they did that.
Sooo… the most important question is, how many American dollars will it take to own that end table?
Then it evaporates trough relief hole.
Love this! I'm a vet who loves woodworking and bourbon and lasers. :)
There's a couple things you can do to improve the quality of the laser cut. One is to raise the work material off the bed as the "flash" marks are caused by the laser hitting the bed and back on the material. This is more important when you need both sides of the material to look good - in this case obviously a little sanding will take care of it. The second thing is more air. The built-in air systems are always just about worthless for cutting. More air = less burning and more precise and cleaner cutting.
My favorite video so far! Not just for the liquor, but for the quality/beauty/comedy of the build and the excitement from the team!!!! Have seen John so happy in a video!
I may not be a drinker, but this video is making me think about it. Turned out great!
Man still can't believe yall bought and ruined the waterjet channel 😭
I'm with you, can we make it dispense root beer or iced tea that'd be awesome
@@felipeansellI’m sure you could dispense whatever you like really
Easily one of the greatest pieces of furniture I've ever seen. The top is beautiful. Wood choice and pattern fit the whiskey, if that makes sense at all.
I love this so much.
I'm not sure which I liked watching more; The project or John's excitement on the finished product. Well done and super entertaining to watch.
Being a beginner woodworker. I love this type of content with the integration of new components in funiture. Definitely want to steal this with a twist to it.
I bought that same all black screwdriver and built a new PC a few weeks ago (14900K and 4090). Best damn screwdriver I've ever used for building a PC. I've built about 100 PCs over the past 25 years, and I wish I had this driver years ago. The swivel bit holder made a huge difference, it's like a precession driver, and it made installing the MoBo so satisfying.
Ya chris loves that thing and busts it out every chance he gets. I really like the weight and feel of it too personally
@@John_Malecki Im betting LTT could use some better PPE for their shop ;)
I use one in an automotive environment, it's just a good screwdriver all around!
What screwdriver is it?
Loved this build and the unadulterated expression of joy from John when it was complete made me smile. Love that feeling when you've made something that objectively does not suck,
Being a building contractor and amateurish wood worker, I enjoy watching you guys. Your great and I learn a thing 2 along the way.
This is by far my favourite project you've done. I really love the idea of "smart" furniture, or the blend of traditional craftsmanship with practical technology. Hope you do more like this in the future!
Loved watching Dan invent this device and was super curious where it would go after the Amazon event. Imagine my surprise when one of my favourite woodworkers does a build with it!
I can't stop smiling at how excited you are with your Bourbon Butler. I felt like a mom watching her son unwrap his heart's desire on Christmas morning.
Whoever's idea 2:40 for a Sacred Geometry pattern, the flower of life, to be used for the table top was the best part of the concept. Perfect energy.
Really neat build. I like the mirror back. For a tighter fit on the drink puck, try a tapered interface between the puck and table. A towel could be used to catch drips.
When I saw that glass go up so smoothly, I smiled so big. It's beautiful. Great job guys
That is so cool. You guys rock, John Malecki crew.
Love that you guys shouted out both Drew Builds Stuff and LTT, both great channels.
Was about to say the same, good man 👌
JOHN THAT IS PROBABLE THE BEST BUILD I HAVE SEEN ON UA-cam !!!!!!!! yes i was screaming that's how excited i got when it was done. it is sweet great job on this one guys and to Danial too.
So this project was awesome. I loved seeing the other projects in the design and planning. I think you should contemplate either selling the kit for a top like that, or a collab with both the top and the Servita. The top is an amazing design for this application. Thank you!
This is awesome! I love the modifications that you did to make it more to your style of the build. Nice work!
LOL, when you said “Alexa pour me a drink” my Alexa said “sorry I can’t do that” fantastic build.
😂 mine added whiskey to my shopping list
I need this! Just for the option. My Christmas tree is voice controlled named "Fucking Christmas Tree". So when I get/leave home "Alexa, turn on/off the Fucking Christmas Tree" 😂 now I can add & "pour me a drink"
If it made coffee, it would be perfect!
I'm sorry, Dave, I can't do that. 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Well Tom, that sounds like a problem you need to fix. LOL
love the cabinet, I would also put a funnel on the top part for when the glas is out of line of the top hole from the filling of the glas in addition of the drip tray
13:23
End grain to end grain has a higher breaking point than edge grain joints, but the glue breaks before the wood which fuels the myth
I’m a simple man. The “and then I’m gonna translate all that into Finnish” joke made me laugh way too hard.
I’m Finnish
But he didn't actually translate it into Finnish. How can he be so dishonest?🙃
I READ UR COMMENT JUST BEFORE HE MADE THAT JOKE
I am simple Finnish and don't understand
I immediately went to check the subtitles and was quite disappointed there was no Finnish
Also not just that part in the description or something
Shocking, two of my favourite things as well, I love watching Maker videos on the tube while drinking bourbon. Loved this one
Absolutely beautiful build. Really great project
Your happiness is just priceless. That's a one piece of good project. I also enjoyed the final effect and look by watching the video. Extra cool. We want more crazy projects like this one.
One of your best builds. Well done!
I watch all your crazy builds and I’m a huge fan! Now you have made this piece of art that should come with an eye monocle, silk robe, and a bubble pipe! Yep, I am in love. Great build as always and all around great job for the team!
If your wife won't let you keep it in the house, I'll generously offer to store it for you totally for free. Whenever you want a drink, just pop over, and I'll have it set up next to a recliner armchair ready to go. I do live in the UK, but it's only just on the other side of a really small pond, so that shouldn't be a problem for you 😅 That drink maker is sweet and the table you made is way cooler then being able to see inside a computer 😊👍👍👍👍
JOHN one of your best explained and executed videos. Absolutely beautiful result. We want more like this.
Splitting the channels was a great idea too. The only way this could've been even better was if it was dispensing some Glenlivet Scotch Whiskey.
Love the shop shades, but how about throwing some magnification for us old men
We're working on them!
Everything about this is so freaking subtle and _gorgeous!!_
A true fan of LTT, thats a first run black shaft screwdriver.
Haha Chris is for sure a "true Lifer" fan of LTT
Very cool build John! I loved how happy you were at the end seeing it work, staring down watching it work from the top... I couldn't stop smiling watching how happy you were!
I don't live under a rock I'm currently living in a ice box freezer cave... 🥶
1:47 👀
One tip for the laser when you’re cutting thicker wood instead of cutting it in one slow pass cut it at a faster speed with multiple passes.
So for example instead of 1 pass at 4mm/second cut it at 5 passes at 40mm/second. (Obviously test to find the right numbers)
This results in significantly less charring on the sides and tends to work out to cut faster overall!
Hope that helps.
You need to change your channel name to THE TABLE KING
That is very kind. But then i couldnt build other dumb stuff!
Hahaha. None of your stuff is dumb. This is unreal what you have built. Well done table king.
2:45 Great dotted line technique, John! I had a Physics professor that could do the same on a chalkboard. He could also do perfect circles of varying sizes (measured to about 1/8 of an inch). When asked how, he stated "How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice."
I'll gladly buy your merch and I'll happily buy your plans, but Satan will be having a snowball fight in the seventh level of hell before I buy a LTT $125 screwdriver. 😂
Absolutely mesmerizing !It's incredible to see the skill and dedication that goes into creating such beautiful piece. This video is not only inspiring but also incredibly satisfying to watch. Hats off to the woodworker for their talent and the videographer for capturing it so beautifully. Can't wait to try some of these techniques myself!
That's one of the coolest things I've seen built on YT for a while. Good Job!
Next step, a sideboard with multiple Servitas. Each loaded with a different booze/mixer combo
Excellent work, amazing finish I want one! You could consider painting the puck inner edge and the inner hole edge black to create a shodow gap rather than having exposed wood / burn marks visble when the glass is moving up / down.
@20:20 Honestly, Linus' screw drivers are awesome! That knurling is such a genius idea when you're trying to screw in small motherboard screwdrivers. And hopefully, there will be some prescription options for future shop shades. And at the end....wow. Damn. That's pretty awesome!
Most enjoyable 35 minutes! Awesome work, I have a Drink Machine that makes mixed drinks so I can appreciate what has been done. You might pass on to the inventor a paristaltic pump which can actually be 3D printed. No priming and it makes it very easy to change just the tubing as well as the programming for how much liquid to dispense. The alcohol never has any effect on the pump. The wood working is simply outstanding.
Content like this will motivate me to be a better woodworker, I really want to build one if these, thank you for a great video
You are easily my favorite person to watch on the Tube! Thanks! Yinz for life!
As someone who loves building Sci-Fi props and unusual mechanisms, I gotta admit that this one one of the slickest builds I have seen in quite a while. I felt your pain on each glitch and the determination to make it work and the final results were a showcase of all that extra work making it look so easy. I am happy to hear that the Servita is going to be an open source project because that will drive new innovations and improvements to an already great project.... Now, to figure out how I can hook that up to a 2 liter bottle of Dew?!?
One thing I appreciate about John is that he doesn’t pretend to know it all. He’s perfectly cool with telling the people how much of this he’s making up on the go lol. And it still comes out really cool but also offers comedy relief during the video.
18:41 "Juosten Kustu".... if you put the button under the puck, you could have the table pour you a drink whenever you put your glass on the puck and you wouldn't need Alexa integration or wifi or any of that. Also, if you used a peristaltic pump it could pump right through the tube walls solving several issues and really controlling tightly metered dispensing. I remember seeing a simple 3D printable peristaltic pump on Printables a while back.
love seeing you genuinely happy over a youtube project!!
Hilarious! What an amazing build. Big shout out to Daniel for the Servita invention. Thank you for sharing!
Alright Malecki, this is officially my favorite build of yours. Not just because of the bourbon pours but this is the best crafted piece that has come out of your shop. Well done sir. Well done.
You could put a stop on the underside of the puck so it can't go up too far.
Although that would also require the mechanism to stop the upward motion when it encounters resistance
Each part of this build is great! As a whole build is phenomenal!!!
Great craftsmanship and a fun video to watch
John, that table is so sweet and makes enjoying a whiskey or bourbon even better. You should make a second one and raffle it off for anyone who subscribed and commented on this episode.
😊😊😊😊 I love seeing everyone smiling. This is so cool
Holy shit what an amazing fun video. Videos like these remind me why I love the building/creator community. This was rad. Amazing work John and team, and of course Daniel!
This is bloody awesome! great idea and nice design... I'm not sure I'd build one myself, but I'd definitely buy one..
Can’t wait for my Glasses, March is so close! I love the LTT screwdriver too, bought every bit option as well.
Fantastic video Best one I've watched so cool to see John's reactions I would love that table!
Amazing video! I don't know anything about woodworking, but would it be possible to build one of these out of an old whiskey barrel or using whiskey barrel wood?
Sure is! I have made a few since I’m also not a woodworker
Fantastic design and build! My only critique is it would be more visually pleasing when the glass is lowering and raising that the sides of the hole and the coaster were blackened out and made uniform so your eye isn't drawn to it when the lift is in use. Still super awesome tho - thanks for showing All your victories as well as the temporary hurdles and snafu's.
Daniel don’t forget to put some various sized “toight” corks to go around the tube in the bottle. The ethanol (the happy stuff…in moderation) evaporates at room temperature…unless it is under pressure. We don’t want all that to turn into “angel’s breath” and leaving a not the same flavor, weaker sauce.
Outstanding Video!! Truly enjoyed it from start to finish!! Can't wait for you to start producing them!!
If the Mrs. won't allow it in the house, mine will, so just send it on down to NC. Beautiful work as always. And I just ordered some shop shades!!
Wow what a beautiful and amazing build the cabinet turned out beautifully the top looks amazing but the drink pourer is so awesome and the look on John’s face at the end was like a kid in a candy store lol. Great job you all did a great job.
I think you can machine brass (at least some kinds) on the CNC using the same carbide bits you use on wood.
Also you can use metal powder mixed with epoxy to get a result that feels and looks like a solid piece of whatever metal powder you used
Great build and fun as usual. I was ready to order shop glasses but need readers in the lens. I noticed you said you were working on that as an option.
We love watching John be a kid in a candy store! Brilliant video, invention and gorgeous build. I hope John gets to keep it haha!
At 9:35 I have a really good solution that I was taught from a Canadian carpenter he said if the gaps are just an 8th of an inch or even 16’s of an inch I got told to mix the same saw dust very fine ! With wood glue and fill in the cracks with fingers like smudge it in makes a really clean look n dries to look like it’s one solid piece n also no seems ! I would give it a shot
Awesome! It would have been cool if you put two mirrors in the bottom in a triangular shape where the edge is in the middle facing the onlooker, it would reflect the sides and make the box look completely empty. It’s what magicians do to make things disappear
This is the sickest build and video to date. Yinz are doing good work!
Car headlight sprayers are spring loaded and have a second spring to close the tip. So when the pump loads pressure into the line to causes the sprayer arm to stick out before it opens the tip and when it fully extends then the tip opens to spray out. Only issues would be the high pressure and you would have to make a custom one for far less pressure for said drinks.
Small switches/contacts can be used to set pump timers for approximate flow calculations. So when the tip opens then said off timer is started
Maybe add a very small air relief near the tip to purge the air out near the tip or even on the tip, it could even be a one way check valve that closes once water hits it
You guys do some Badass builds!! love the continuous fabricobbling!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that changes there plan 100 times beauty build 👌🏻🥃
That is the best thing I've ever seen you make. It's just so well executed.
Is is so very American and so very well built. Such a fun project, and it's so cool the inventer of the mechanism got to come be part of it too!
Ive been watching you since about 2021 I think this may be my favorite build you’ve ever done!
That is a work of art John! I love it how happy you are at the end. So when do they go on sale so we can all have one?!? Lol
That table is the most awesome furniture I have ever seen! Whiskey in a table.
Hey amazing video and the table turned out great. You could consider making the block base that you screwed the device on and the part that is actually visible that you put your glass on thinner so the glass could go lower so it wouldn't spill.
Now I have to admit that THAT is the coolest table I've seen you build. DAMN!
Shot glass earned you a subscription my friend, amazing love it.!
One of the best units I’ve seen you make. It’s great what precision can accomplish.
Great idea and build, as this is a prototype will MKII have sensors? A no glass safety feature is a must and a tad more fiddly, fluid levels on the app?
You need to look into the Kerf offset function on your laser to account for the thickness of the laser beam. It'll help alot with your inlays.
Now have it be able to pour 2 cups simultaneously. That be dope.
Lots of fun, great innovation and good woodworking skill all combined in an excellent project, cheers!
to make the inserts look good (referencing @9:38), just tinker with your Z-offset in Lightburn. then it will fit perfect.
Awesome project on both the cabinet and Servita 👍
Insanely amazing. One of my favorite builds you’ve done.
Dude that was wicked!!! So cool that yall got the creator to come out too
This was an amazing project! You have done some epic things but i think this is one of my favorites you have ever done. It's truly a work of art.
I'm always so damn inspired by you and your team. I wish we weren't moving soon because my tools are all blocked behind boxes right now so I can't build anything...
12:47 FYI John, it’s not a dado. It’s a rabbet.
This is awesome. Love the look of the table and the ability to get a bourbon without getting up is awesome
This is awesome! One of the coolest things I've seen in awhile.
