Don't just build the fish table, take it up a notch and make it a multi tiered table with a deeper tank in the middle. Don't just copy it, give it the Malecki touch!
Dang! - most excellent idea ever!
absolutely
Yes
Waterfall edge that’s an actual waterfall to a lower level with a retention pond and pump it back up to the top through the leg
hear, hear
BUILD THE ACTUAL RIVER TABLE!!!!!!
Build the river table please 🙏
If you build the table PLEAZE dont use goldfish. They dont like the shallow water or how little water there is. Use guppies. Theyre hardy, like shallow water and as long as you have good filtration it should be fine.
Build it
River table with fish 🐠
Yeah , real fish table
I think the fishtank is definitely a fun project to tackle and I'd like to see it. I imagine it could be a potential collab with business' experienced in your area with tanks or even a youtube based company is an option. Like I saw at least a few people mention, the table being deeper would be ideal. But also goldfish is not a long-term good fish for this kind of concept especially in those numbers. There's lots of good options even with golden scales/orange scales for the very likely lower gallon capacity like potentially Danios, guppy varieties, or tetras. Guppies and Tetra's typically need heat tho, and although Danios can go without the room temp still needs to be decently warm (depending on species they can like it from 64-82F) for their water to be.
Of course, you could always forgo having real live animals at all and just get some decorations. There's is a plethora of those in varying quality and colors.
A bolt in the glue, a thread tapped in the head of the hammer.
Suddenly you've made different heads stored in a drawer.
I want to try this now omg.
I have a rubber mallet like that. It's got different hardness of heads. I use it doing hardwood floors. It's made by lixie. They are quite pricey though. I think mine was 110$
You should definitely build the real river table! With a floating glass top maybe, so you can use the whole surface and the fish are protected from things falling in the water/ on them
Yes, that would be so cool
looking forward to seeing that actual river - river table. Find some Neons (type of fish), and black light LEDS instead of gold fish. Plus some UV decorations in it ... that would be a super cool build
I second this!
Nah do natural decoration, fish tanks shouldn't look like a kids toy. Also it needs to be deeper than in the video.
..considering well over 90% of Malignant Melanoma (Skin Cancer) is cause by UV light,
..its a realy good ide to shorten ur life considerbly,
and it put a strain on cancer care facillities...
...or perhaps not...
9:35 has become one of my favorite everyday sayings now, thank you ♡
For the Lego spice rack, make them stackable and color-coded for beef, pork, chicken, and fish.
You should definitely make the fish table!! That would be awesome!! Love the channel John!!
The Lego spice box looks amazing but it has one problem: you either have to label the top of the spice bottles which ruins the illusion or you have to memorize where each spice bottle is. 😆
3d print new lids in the same colour, and write the spice name in Lego font similar to the Lego logo on the original piece
@@canadianhunter21 Ooooo! That's a great idea! Good one!
but it has a hidden advantage that it will make people scared to walk on the countertops for fear of stepping on it.
The 3D print idea is the only way that it can work reliably... My first thought was "It would bug the hell out of me to not have labels!"
@@canadianhunter21awesome solution
@15:10 I just got here, but I would absolutely love to see that video, that Fish Table build looks amazing!
I’m new to woodworking and my son sent me this video. Love the testing! That’s what I seem to do most ha ha I’m learning power tools and angles and how to connect things. It’s really fascinating and I’m very appreciative of those with this amazing skill. I hope you build that fish table! I’d love to see the video on it. What a cool idea.
Definitely need to see your version of the fish table!
The real river (flowing water) table that Matt Estlea built a while ago was epic. Definitely need to see you guys add fish
Totally build the table. And I agree with the tiered idea and the neon fish idea. Go forth and make it so!!!
Meat church is some phenomenal stuff. I love their variety, but also how similar it is to mixes I made as a young adult from my parents spice cabinet which was delicious. We have been using this for over 5 years in Texas and I am glad that it has been able to grow as a brand. I'm not sure where it started but I remember the grill shop constantly being sold out so we ended up ordering large bags of their stuff and have been refilling the same containers since we discovered it.
Hey John, the center finder is actually worth it! You should definitely build a fancy one! 😃
out of carbon fiber
@@harrygregory6227 That's not a bad idea...
Make it foldable so it can be stored away!
Make your own woodpecker version and mill it out of aluminum
@@defomatt2684 or carbon fiber
The fish table looks amazing! I loved the Lego spice rack.
Build the fish tank table with a removable transparent acrylic topper and all the tank hardware hidden underneath! Great channel!
I'm gonna need that lego spice box.. THanks!
Definitely make the river table! Would be extremely cool to see you figure it out and make it.
You should absolutely build the table! Waterfall edges are in right now, so obviously it needs a real waterfall edge!
Definitely build that river table with the fish. Hilarious!!
I like how you add those stupid things to your vids. Too funny! I love the table you gave to your coworker. The cave. It was awesome!!! Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Definitely make the river table but like many have said. Dont copy it!
A large square table with a lake style and an island in the middle with plants is an idea! Also could have little windows on the side to view the fish, if the bench top is thick enough.
On that center finder, I made something similar a few years ago for welding, and I use it basically every day that I’m welding center posts, it’s also super quick to mark out small squares, I use it almost as much as a speed square.
Hey John these videos are great ! Keep up the good work!
Those proportions!!! HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN A LEGO BRICK??????
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the hot glue for the mallet was the industrial furniture stuff. It's generally yellowish and has to flow hot. May be worth a revisit
Yes, it's a different type of glue stick that NEEDS a high temperature glue gun to melt properly.
Should also try to put a thin layer down before the magnets so they're fully captured
Scrolled down looking for this comment. Yes, they are using an industrial hot glue gun on the video. The yellowish glue is stronger, it flows better, and it also phases back to solid quicker too.
My glue gun is hot enough that normal glue sticks bubble like they are boiling when you run them through.
Build the fish table! That would be awsome! Oddly thought of that, and decided not to. Wood and water.... LOL
3:50 Eric Cartman showing up was awesome!!! 😂😂😂😂
Regarding the hot glue magnet hammer cap:
If you want hot glue to adhere properly on bulky pieces of high heat capacity and/or heat conductivity materials, like a hammer, it helps to preheat them. On very big pieces of such materials, it even is a necessity for decent adhesion.
Depending on the hot glue used, the preheating temperature is 80 to 180° C, a bit below the glue gun temperature setting, specified for the used hot glue.
Be aware, that neodymium magnets can be permanently demagnetized, if they get heated above a certain temperature. Depending on the type, that can start between 80 to 230°C. So make sure you use magnets graded for higher temperature use.
Also there are many types of hot glue. For a rubber-like hammer cap, the default hot glue might be not elastic enough.
The yellowish color of the hot glue in the original video can mean two things: Either he uses default hot glue, with a hot glue gun, that produces above standard temperature. That can make default hot glue take a yellowish color. (But usually it makes it also bubble a bit.) Or he used a non default hot glue, that inherently has a yellowish color. Specific hot glues for high temperature hot glue guns often have such a yellowish color. I think the latter is the case, in the original video.
I myself have two hot glue guns. One, that produces above default temperatures. The default hot glue adheres much better with it, and nets high heat capacity and/or heat conductivity materials much better. It obviously also stays liquid longer, and flows much better, if you cast bigger pieces with it. However if you get the hot glue on your skin, you get seriously burned. The main reason the lower temperature ones exist at all, is that they are safer to use, for children and other non-professional users.
The consistency of your hot glue, looks like you have a low temperature hot glue gun, assuming that is default hot glue. So my guess is, that this would work, if you had a higher temperature hot glue gun and/or preheated the hammer.
The yellowish glues can also be more adherent and sometimes referred to as "Heavy Duty". I believe the problem with the poor application is also that he squeezed the glue right when it became possible, he probably could have let the gun heat up another minute and gotten better liquidity out of the glue - although it probably wouldn't be much better at holding since it appears to be the default glue like you mentioned. Also the neodimium magnets have a filleted edge (rounded) and a more liquid glue could have seeped around better to encapsulate the magnets. I would call a retry on this one.
A lot of kinds of magnets also demagnetize when they’re whacked hard, like with a hammer. Wondering if this hack is just such a whack.
@@kenjohnson6075That is true. But neodymium magnets are more resistant to that, than the cheaper ferrite magnets. Generally, stronger magnets are more resistant to shock and vibrations. So I wouldn't expect that to be a problem, as long as the magnets do not crack from the whack. Thus I don't think the hack is a total whack. There are also different coatings for neodymium magnets. Some are a high toughness metal covering layers, that are meant to keep them from breaking in exactly such situations.
@Xendrasch He wasn't trying to get the glue stick to the hammer. The problem was that the magnets didn't stick to the glue.
Yes, you absolutely totally need to build the real life river table, I recon you will make a kickass one 🤘😝🤘
i agree
Bring on the fishy table! Dude, the gauntlet has been thrown down… you don’t have a pair if you don’t pick up that gauntlet and blow the fish out of the water!
Build the table bro! Everyone needs a goldfish table… 🤣
I'd love to see the aquarium table, but I definitely want to see you clean/replace the water after a month.
I bought a combo square set from harbor freight for less than $10. It had a circle center finder. It became my most used tool for a while.
9:47 is when my safety squints really went into overdrive...
I do believe the table saw sanding disc will work with a low curf finish blade. I have a factory sanding disk on my Shop Smith, and I use it all the time. But not as a jointer ,I have jointer,s for that.
That river table…I definitely want to see your version of it.
Yup! I vote for the full video of that water table! A no-brainer! 🤣
Build the freakin table
Build the river table! That thing looks awesome!
John, you definitely HAVE TO build the fish tank table.
You need to build a real river table for sure. Need to see the Malecki spin on it!
You have to build the river table! I like the sanding disk from a table saw. I have two trashed table saws I found on the side of the roar. Making one of them into a disk sander (without teeth) would be a good idea.
Always be careful when using force in a way that wasn't intended for the machine/part. Pushing into the blade from the side could lead to a pretty catastrophic failure. Wouldn't want to be next to the contraption when it fails. Sanding disks are likely the way to go
Got to see that build, go for it!!!
Yeah, absolutely should do the running water table.
Love the Lego spice box and that center finder was definitely the most practical
Definitely need a full video build of the river table.
The table saw sander “hack” is the prime reason to keep a tourniquet in your shop first aid kit!
Build the fish table, but add some electrical circuitry to train the fish to swim from side to side!
Great video, as always. My wife and I were both worried about the sandpaper one, I've been banned from doing that. I'd like to see what you do for a river table.
I'm a fan of the Meat Church spices, and that Lego box would be the ideal way to store them. Definitely need to do the table in a full video. Be cool to have in the office
I'm going to do it to store my grandsons Lego in the hope that I don't step on another brick with bare feet.
Downside is that you have to pull them out to find the one you're looking for
Remember telling your math teacher you were never gonna use math in the future? No? Just me? Now its all i use lol
I remember math teachers saying you won't always have a calculator in your pocket....😂
I like that you made yourself a little theme song, Or at least that's how I'm thinking of it from now on. XD
Absolutely stoked to see a living river table. I've been wanting to build a resin river table but don't have the space yet
You’re scared if you don’t make the table…love you John 😊 been a sub for around 2 years. Keep them coming. Promise we appreciate the effort. 👊peace from Nz
Subscribed! Love your videos!
Slowly building my own workshop so I can mess around building crazy stuff like you guys! Such fun!
Using poplar wood with the chisel demonstrations should look really buttery!
Have u heard of the larreto stair case? As a wood worker it's fascinating. It's a spiral staircase with no center suportan. It was also built without nails or glue. U should do a video on it an trying to figure out how it was built
Love the spice rack ❤ Still think you should have gone with the 6 holes to make it look more like Lego as the spacing now it to close.
I love John C Riley from gangs of New York in the background !!!!
That goldfish table would be awesome. Build it!!!! Awesome channel.
Yes, please build the Goldfish Table!! Also, thanks for the fun, always enjoy your brand of crazy. 😋
14:30 youll have to play a guessing game each time you want to get some spices, like could take 8 attempts to pick the one you actually want😅 looks awesome tho!
Or just label the lids...
@@CountDoucheula true but that would kinda ruin the red look…
The river table is awesome looking! Even if you didn’t keep fish in there but just had the moss and running water! Build it please and Thankyou!
Build the fish table for sure!
I'd love to see you build the fish table!
Build it John! We all need that table in our lives 😊😂
The MTV “Next” logo that was edited in gave me nostalgic flashbacks!
You gotta build the river table!! That would be so awesome!!
+1 Vote for water feature table (maybe use fake fish as you'd probably have to make the table super deep to be suitable for fish to actually live in)
Yeah, I think the fish table build would be pretty cool. Especially watching you noodle through the details.
D'Von!!!!! BUILD THAT TABLE!!!!!
You gotta build that table! That thing is awesome!!
You should definitely do the table, but add you touch of craziness to it, and loved the spice rack box, im gonna have to try that one out.
The sandpaper on the table saw blade is used to keep from getting those burn marks that you get sometimes when using a table saw, it just makes the cut cleaner.
Before gluing magnets into a cabinet, to ensure that they stick well and don't just pull out when you remove the item being held, I run the back and sides over a course DMT sharpening block to roughen it. I think the plated, shiny, polished surface is the _worst_ for gluing to.
No question about it, you have to make the fish table!
Somebody get our boy a push stick for Christmas good lawd!
Fish Tank Table is a must!
I visited a touristy trout farm in Turkey long ago (edit - Yaka Park), and the restaurant bar had a channel with running water that you could sit your beer in to keep it cool, and the water had baby trout swimming in it. I don't remember if the bar top was timber though, probably concrete.
Build the table! For the homeless fish
Build the fish tank, but make it for a BASS!
I’d love to the flowing water on the table, bloody cool.
Yes John. If you build it, they will come! The viewers! The viewers will come come John!
3D printing one of those circular center finders is a bit easier, and a bit better looking.
The Lego one is really cool!!! Unless you have more than eight spices, but still very cool
This is a beast, awesome work as usual 🎉
Build the table dammit!! 😂😂
with the fish table HE MISSED A FISH IN THE BAG
We NEED to see the fish table build!
Build the fish table! 😂
You absolutely need to build one of those!
I hope you have thousands of comments about this aquarium table. Let’s see this thang!
You gotta build the fish table!!!
Hey John! Big fan of yours and your channel. Anyhow, I was curious what squares you use? They look rad and super durable. I’d love to use them for the door hardware I install at work. Thanks!
Yeah that lego one is bad ass, the sand paper idea is cool but keep the blade free cut and sand at the same time
Make the fish table, but I'd love to see you level it up. Maybe a waterfall, maybe a fish bridge.
Definitely looking forward to the river table with fish in it
