      If you build the table PLEAZE dont use goldfish. They dont like the shallow water or how little water there is. Use guppies. Theyre hardy, like shallow water and as long as you have good filtration it should be fine.

    I think the fishtank is definitely a fun project to tackle and I'd like to see it. I imagine it could be a potential collab with business' experienced in your area with tanks or even a youtube based company is an option. Like I saw at least a few people mention, the table being deeper would be ideal. But also goldfish is not a long-term good fish for this kind of concept especially in those numbers. There's lots of good options even with golden scales/orange scales for the very likely lower gallon capacity like potentially Danios, guppy varieties, or tetras. Guppies and Tetra's typically need heat tho, and although Danios can go without the room temp still needs to be decently warm (depending on species they can like it from 64-82F) for their water to be.
    Of course, you could always forgo having real live animals at all and just get some decorations. There's is a plethora of those in varying quality and colors.

We have been using this for over 5 years in Texas and I am glad that it has been able to grow as a brand. I'm not sure where it started but I remember the grill shop constantly being sold out so we ended up ordering large bags of their stuff and have been refilling the same containers since we discovered it.

      Scrolled down looking for this comment. Yes, they are using an industrial hot glue gun on the video. The yellowish glue is stronger, it flows better, and it also phases back to solid quicker too.
      My glue gun is hot enough that normal glue sticks bubble like they are boiling when you run them through.

    Regarding the hot glue magnet hammer cap:
    If you want hot glue to adhere properly on bulky pieces of high heat capacity and/or heat conductivity materials, like a hammer, it helps to preheat them. On very big pieces of such materials, it even is a necessity for decent adhesion.
    Depending on the hot glue used, the preheating temperature is 80 to 180° C, a bit below the glue gun temperature setting, specified for the used hot glue.
    Be aware, that neodymium magnets can be permanently demagnetized, if they get heated above a certain temperature. Depending on the type, that can start between 80 to 230°C. So make sure you use magnets graded for higher temperature use.
    Also there are many types of hot glue. For a rubber-like hammer cap, the default hot glue might be not elastic enough.
    The yellowish color of the hot glue in the original video can mean two things: Either he uses default hot glue, with a hot glue gun, that produces above standard temperature. That can make default hot glue take a yellowish color. (But usually it makes it also bubble a bit.) Or he used a non default hot glue, that inherently has a yellowish color. Specific hot glues for high temperature hot glue guns often have such a yellowish color. I think the latter is the case, in the original video.
    I myself have two hot glue guns. One, that produces above default temperatures. The default hot glue adheres much better with it, and nets high heat capacity and/or heat conductivity materials much better. It obviously also stays liquid longer, and flows much better, if you cast bigger pieces with it. However if you get the hot glue on your skin, you get seriously burned. The main reason the lower temperature ones exist at all, is that they are safer to use, for children and other non-professional users.
    The consistency of your hot glue, looks like you have a low temperature hot glue gun, assuming that is default hot glue. So my guess is, that this would work, if you had a higher temperature hot glue gun and/or preheated the hammer.

    • @dracomon84
      @dracomon84 6 місяців тому +1

      The yellowish glues can also be more adherent and sometimes referred to as "Heavy Duty". I believe the problem with the poor application is also that he squeezed the glue right when it became possible, he probably could have let the gun heat up another minute and gotten better liquidity out of the glue - although it probably wouldn't be much better at holding since it appears to be the default glue like you mentioned. Also the neodimium magnets have a filleted edge (rounded) and a more liquid glue could have seeped around better to encapsulate the magnets. I would call a retry on this one.

    • @kenjohnson6075
      @kenjohnson6075 4 місяці тому +1

      A lot of kinds of magnets also demagnetize when they’re whacked hard, like with a hammer. Wondering if this hack is just such a whack.

    • @Xendrasch
      @Xendrasch 4 місяці тому +1

      @@kenjohnson6075That is true. But neodymium magnets are more resistant to that, than the cheaper ferrite magnets. Generally, stronger magnets are more resistant to shock and vibrations. So I wouldn't expect that to be a problem, as long as the magnets do not crack from the whack. Thus I don't think the hack is a total whack. There are also different coatings for neodymium magnets. Some are a high toughness metal covering layers, that are meant to keep them from breaking in exactly such situations.

    • @punawelewele
      @punawelewele 3 місяці тому

      @Xendrasch He wasn't trying to get the glue stick to the hammer. The problem was that the magnets didn't stick to the glue.

    The sandpaper on the table saw blade is used to keep from getting those burn marks that you get sometimes when using a table saw, it just makes the cut cleaner.

    Before gluing magnets into a cabinet, to ensure that they stick well and don't just pull out when you remove the item being held, I run the back and sides over a course DMT sharpening block to roughen it. I think the plated, shiny, polished surface is the _worst_ for gluing to.

    I visited a touristy trout farm in Turkey long ago (edit - Yaka Park), and the restaurant bar had a channel with running water that you could sit your beer in to keep it cool, and the water had baby trout swimming in it. I don't remember if the bar top was timber though, probably concrete.

    3D printing one of those circular center finders is a bit easier, and a bit better looking.

    Hey John! Big fan of yours and your channel. Anyhow, I was curious what squares you use? They look rad and super durable. I’d love to use them for the door hardware I install at work. Thanks!
