I would love to see a desk or table like this but made intentionally to look like an old map. Blue for water and wood for land. This table has the look but with attention to details to make it map like. A compass in the bottom corner and some lakes, rivers, islands and maybe longitude and latitude lines. Burial wood has the look of old weathered paper and rough edges.
Shows that when you take the time to pre-vac out the bubbles, MUCH better results. Also, you trusted your people with some of the details which makes it more of a team effort. And the fact that you did it for one of your own elevates it even more. Really nice job.
I love that you do this for your employees and team. Like, that's what makes people want to work harder for their employers is when you can see they care about you. This isn't a pizza day or something, this is amazing :)
It's refreshing to see that anothr colour other than black resin is used. Too many builders stick to black. The clear fill over blue is a stunning idea, well done. Overal the colours work brialliantly. I want one...... One of your best builds by far, thank you for sharing.
I think the table looks beautiful and if they didn't even have the orange at all it would look great especially that countertop but the orange just takes away from it

Yeah, this amount of epoxy usually gives me shivers and i can hear the scream of the wallet from other end of the house, but this one is pretty nice and least they didnt hide the amazing sides of the burl and lighting just works with this one. How ever i only use epoxy to enhance wood, like filling the missing parts to make it usable, so for me this amount is just excessive..
Beautiful and unique! Not only do you think outside the box, but you just repurpose the wood and make something nice out of it. Great job, John and your whole team!
The table top is by far the best I've seen, the burl with that crystal clear epoxy is amazing. The way you made the frame draws my eye to the fact the angles on the side are not parallel and in my opinion the orange panels and frame would have looked better in black, small gripes on an otherwise beautiful desk. Another great piece of craftsmanship and so awesome you do this for your employees.
34:08 I think you hit a home run with this one guys!!! I would have liked to have seen what it would have looked like with the original color for the back board but the orange looks great. Can’t wait to see what you build for Chris
The table top is the selling point. But the LED lighting really highlights it. And honestly my favorite part is the tray organizer in the drawer so that everything can stay organized and clean. Makes working much more enjoyable and easy when things are clean.
3 years ago I had a liver transplant due to a medication and I watched your videos to take my mind off the hospital bullshit. It really helped me out man. Keep it up.
Wow, that whole build kicks ass, I think the frame is the most underrated part. The idea to do the shallow blue epoxy pour with clear over top so you can see the burl… **chef’s kiss** I want to see Joe get his phone out of that cubby. My beefy fingers would need some cutouts in that mdf 😂
The worst part of any Sunday is knowing that by 10:00 a.m., I have an entire week to wait for the next video. That was an AWESOME build. And I say it every time... I love that you include the mistakes and di_king around. It makes it so much better to know even the great builders have their timeout moments. GREAT JOB, again.
The look is very cool. I love epoxy blue with the wood. Really nice. Though it is very limited in space. Desks especially desks for content creators must have space. Therefore the minimum width must be 60” with a minimum depth of 30”. Those dimensions are bare bone minimum. If the desk is that small the creator must have an auxiliary preferably rolling table with drawers preferably 18”W x 30”D to supplement the lack of space on desk. The auxiliary rolls to put away at end of day. Ideally the desk should be 72”W x 36”D with an aux cart that’s 18”W x 36”D. This gives the creator/operator plenty of room and freedom for the work. Plenty of room for peripherals, additional monitors when needed, etc. FYI we normally don’t use a keyboard tray. The keyboard usually sits on top of the desk. We sometimes use an 80% board with a stream deck, a separate number pad (rare), etc.
I love this. The video altogether is great, the table looks awesome, and that blue is beautiful! I enjoyed seeing you ask questions during the design process to really get the entire process on video. Great work! Probably my favorite video from you in a while
Recently just found your channel and this video and it has showed what you're like as a craftsman and boss. The fact you went out of your way to create this masterpiece, make sure it is absolutely flawless, do all this designing and do it for free for your employee is great. The table looks absolutely awesome.
Would love to see you testing these 10-in-1 / 15-in-1 type workshop tools. Are they really worth it compared to buying a bunch of separate tools. Keep up the great content.
That is awesome, I absolutely love the desk. And yes, please build a desk for Chris. I'd really like to see what kind of desk he would like you to design and build for him.
You guys do incredible work. I'm in custom woodworking and never did epoxy yet. I'm thinking about getting into it, but I really don't have a shop to do so. That desk looks awesome. Keep up the entertainment and have a good year
So much talent in one place. And fun to boot!! Only issue I would have is doing what John is thinking. The drawer insert is such a good idea. No extra clutter!!
Looks the same size to me, with way more storage space! There’s also definitely room for him to add a second (many a third if they’re smaller) monitor. More than a nice try, it’s a great final product that I would definitely be inspired to work in everyday
Absolutely in LOVE with the desk. I’ve always dreamed of a dining room table with wood, resin,& lights made to resemble the country of Westeros from Game of Thrones. This has that type of vibe to it. John, you hit it out of the park.
I would love to see a desk or table like this but made intentionally to look like an old map. Blue for water and wood for land. Great Looking Desk , my wife seen it and now she's making comments on howd that be great in her home office , I was saying how I'd be cool if you used the cutoffs to fill in the gaps between the metal sides of the desk , and then you did it . Very awesome job as always . Love the channel.
My partner and i are looking to start up our own bed & breakfast, and your builds inspire me to follow my desired forest theme. Your river tables and creativity are such an inspiration. Keep up the great work.
I love it. The color of the blue and the type of wood definitely match. I think with the drawer font, you should have done a few pieces of that wood and epoxy to make the look that it continues to that point. I think this is one of the best ones that you have done. Awesome job gents
I've been a painter since 89. When you paint metal like that you should use automotive paint. You can get get into some super cool colors that way. P.S. I'm from Denver and I still wouldn't have put orange on that.
The sesk is fantastic! 5 built a bunch of epoxy tables and desks and i like that finish process with the polish. And of course, the buckeye burl is fantastic
That is a sweet looking desk and going with orange was the right call. I also like what you did with adding the pieces back in on the sides for where you cut off for the ears. I think that just finished off the table that much more that if they would have not been added back in and it would have just been the ears in the front. It is a thing of beauty and Joe should be proud to work at such a work of art every day.
What an inspiring place to work. That desk is absolutely sick! The top is gorgeous, and I'm not much of an epoxy/river table guy, but that burl is beautiful. Love the orange panels. What really calms my OCD though it the organizational cutouts for all his stuff, like the keyboard, headphones, cards, etc. Really beautiful job. Thanks for taking us along.
Yup. That is pure class. Personally think the last minute change to the drawer fronts was the right choice Gonna be honest, I wasn't 100% at a few points during the build, but the end result looks amazing.
love the burls in it this desk is wicked and could not be replicated. will be interesting to see how you guys make another desk that doesn't compete with that one for attention like they will have to be equal or it will throw everything off in there. been enjoying this channel since 2019 and it has been great to watch John grow and improve his epoxy technique.
This is gorgeous. The craftsmanship here is just top notch. I always walk away from your videos so inspired. Adding in those offcuts to make it look like the top is even more built into the frame was a brilliant idea. I love all of it! I don't even like the color orange yet I still would kill to have this desk.
Looks amazing. I love how neat and tidy everything is. Especially the bits in the drawer with their cutout slots. You should definitely make one for Chris too.
Desk looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥 The finished touch though is to hang the monitor off the back panel instead of it sitting on the desk and maybe swap it out for a wide screen display.
Awesome. The best part of this table is obviously the tabletop and LED lighting, there's no question about it, the second best thing- is the gadget drawer
YAY! they finally degassed it! I think you could have solved so many epoxy issues if you used it sooner. By far the coolest part is the storage space for all his stuff.
good looking desk, but the metal frame reduces/eliminates the possibility of running multiple monitors. i know this because i cant use multiple on my desk due to the shelf design.

This is an awesome desk and I know it's been a while but I'm sure he still loves it today. I've been getting myself into woodworking recently, a shop built by you or Backtail would be amazing.
You should totally build Chris a desk as well. But with his, make it volcanic themed to keep the river idea, but color opposite of Joe's. Also, if you feel like a challenge, take it up a notch by doing the desk aesthetics using hexagonal designs.
Looks good. With that orange back panel now he has something to mount the screen or screens to instead of using a monitor stand. That would give a cleaner look and a little more space
Awesome! What a gorgeous table. Besides the tabletop, those panels were just sick. What a great thing to do for Joe and yes, you should build Chris one. Another fun project to watch.
Good call on adding the off cuts back into the sides. Looking at the overall desk I think it would have looked quite a bit worse without them. Overall awesome desk
I really enjoyed this video. I have to say that the desk is nice but I have to say that I like the desk alone, no metal surround or the the back. Great idea to incorporate that acrylic underneath to give better light through the epoxy & the ears on the back. One thing I would change is make it a bit longer love the burl.
The best part is how you added the off cuts back onto the sides! It gives the table top a more custom look instead of just having the dog ears.
Agreed!
You're right! Finishes it off perfectly!
Totally, it makes a huge difference to the finished look ✨️
I would love to see a desk or table like this but made intentionally to look like an old map. Blue for water and wood for land. One of your best builds by far, thank you for sharing.
Looks dope as hell. Only thing I don’t like is the orange. Probably would have went with black. Black and blue almost always look good.
I was thinking that or maybe even a darker orange
I think the table looks beautiful and if they didn't even have the orange at all it would look great especially that countertop but the orange just takes away from it
Yeah makes it look like a Lego set or something
Brushed metal would be best in my opinion! its gray an catches light. makes nice gradients. and looks more professional
Especially on your mom's eye when she doesn't listen
This desk is gorgeous. Definitely need to build Chris one now!
Make a desk like this but made intentionally to look like an old map. Blue for water and wood for land. This table has the look but with attention to details to make it map like. A compass in the bottom corner and some lakes, rivers, islands and maybe longitude and latitude lines.
Burial wood has the look of old weathered paper and rough edges.
Adding the offcuts on the sides is super sick, it looks like you managed to meld the desktop into the structure with magic or something
Looks great, think Chris definitely needs his own desk. Love the magnets for the panels that's genius!
I usually don't love epoxy river stuff, but with the blue and burl, that's my favorite piece of epoxy and wood I think I've ever seen on the internet.
So gorgeous. I love the placement of the LEDS, not to mention those magnetic panels that can be changed out at any time.
I do think this is your best river yet. That blue with the clear on top is just gorgeous.
Beautiful and unique! Not only do you think outside the box, but you just repurpose the wood and make something nice out of it. Great job, John and your whole team!

This entire build is SICK!! Loving the color choices and adding the cut-offs back to finish the look.
Yes, the table top is awesome! The orange back board is a close 2nd. Well done.
The table top is the selling point. But the LED lighting really highlights it. And honestly my favorite part is the tray organizer in the drawer so that everything can stay organized and clean. Makes working much more enjoyable and easy when things are clean.
Chris definitely needs one! Nice desk, love the river table top, but hate the orange.
3 years ago I had a liver transplant due to a medication and I watched your videos to take my mind off the hospital bullshit. It really helped me out man. Keep it up.
That thing is sick!! Table top is amazing, but my favorite part is the inlay for the drawer... So organized looking. Great work by the team, as always
Agree, best table you have ever built. The blue epoxy and buckeye burl are gorgeous.
Wow, that whole build kicks ass, I think the frame is the most underrated part. The idea to do the shallow blue epoxy pour with clear over top so you can see the burl… **chef’s kiss**
I want to see Joe get his phone out of that cubby. My beefy fingers would need some cutouts in that mdf 😂
The tig welded frame is for sure underrated!
Yes, Chris needs something to rival that awesome desk!
The way you guys pronounce NAS is wild. [Update] That came out sick, definitely your best clear pour to date!
Yup.
I’m a video editor and this desk is sick!!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Very functional and laid out very well! Good job!
The worst part of any Sunday is knowing that by 10:00 a.m., I have an entire week to wait for the next video. That was an AWESOME build. And I say it every time... I will soon have a solution for you my friend..... soon
@@John_Maleckiohhhh u big tease sounds interesting

I think the the most amazing thing about this build ... is that you put so much effort into it... love the craft !
Fan-freaking-tastic!
You definitely need to build Chris a table. You can't have that ugly table throwing off the whole vibe. Great job. Great video.
Totally agree 👍
BEAUTIFUL DESK! Definitely gotta build Chris one, he does great work on the CNC BUT only if he gets his "hangnail" problem sorted out first LOL 💚🎮
Would love to see you testing these 10-in-1 / 15-in-1 type workshop tools. Are they really worth it compared to buying a bunch of separate tools.
Keep up the great content.
As an IT professional, and amateur woodworker, that table is fantatic and I can only dream of making something similar.
1:15 Nos.whats a NOS
Nice office storage?!
Looks like a NAS to me.
Lol I laughed at that. Its pronounced like NASA....without the A on the end.
as about to comment how the way they say NAS hurts me a little xD. and I don't believe it's due to our Pittsburgeez...
yup, driving me crazy every single time they say NOS instaed of NAHHSS lol
Probably a shout to Nas, the rapper.
But yeah, "Nahs"
That is awesome, I absolutely love the desk. And yes, please build a desk for Chris. I'd really like to see what kind of desk he would like you to design and build for him.

Chris can get a new Desk when he reaches 100 Days hang nail free. 🤣

It's just for the the Aesthetics of the video, I'm sure he put the other monitor on the table after the video was launched
Bro literally picked out the style and size himself before it was made, this is literally what he asked for
@@yitzy2159 if so, then the desk looks even smaller then it already is.
@@jacobpost5519 🤷🏻♂️ maybe smaller, but nicer😅
The color of the epoxy with grain of the burp wood is beautiful. Such and awesome thing to build for your employee

I probably commented before but the coolest part is that your editing guy got a $15k desk. It shows you care for your employees. Good on you John 🤘

The hot orange looks like steel!
LOVE everything except the orange but whatever he is happy with! Glad he made those panels magnetic and changeable
I know nothing about shop work, but I live for the little editor clips from shows or movies! Always gives me a good giggle
Love that wood and colour together

Chris absolutely deserves a desk too...
The top is spectacular definitely the best feature of the desk. I think adding the magnets was a genius move
Epoxy desk is the best with the lighting. You should definitely create one for everyone.

I agree, probably the best table you have ever made. It looks so nice!!!!

The LEDs look amazing in this, my favourite part for sure… would be even cooler with a clear tabletop and then a variable RGB LED set up.
Looks so good. The blue top is pristine.
Awesome. The best part of this table is obviously the tabletop and LED lighting, there's no question about it, the second best thing- is the gadget drawer
You missed a huge part which is cable management that should have been integrated into the design
That is possibly the best/coolest looking computer desk i have ever seen. Great job.
Fantastic build this week guys. Tastefully executed and functional. Keep pumping out incredible content.
10/10 on the badassery meter. The table top is shockingly good from above. Very cool project.

good looking desk, but the metal frame reduces/eliminates the possibility of running multiple monitors. i know this because i cant use multiple on my desk due to the shelf design.
Yes, by far you're most beautiful table/desk. Great job.
Very Nice, The river top is stand out. Overall design of the desk is awesome as well.
Absolutely gorgeous. The colors contrast between the wood and epoxy looks like a pie e of a globe! I bet your editor is stoked on this build

It might very well be your best epoxy work.
After a vote, my husband and I say it IS!

Cool desk! I would have done some secret storage locations for important items.....like bourbon or gold coins......maybe a thumb drive.
Man, that top looks Amazing! The burl with the blue river looks so good together!
