I love your passion for this game. There's something really peculiarly "adventury", "fairy taily", but at the same time "mysteriously" weird about the world of Banjo Kazooie. It's hard to describe, but the atmosphere has not ever been duplicated again (not even in Yooka Laylee"). Truly also, one of my favorite games of all time.
Yeah, I'm surprised how easy it is now compared to 20 years ago. I complete the worlds with the first try while as a child a searched for everything for an endless amount and hardly finished any level at 100% so I had to come back later. Especially that water level was so small and I finished it so fast but as a child that world was not a great experience.
Even though I had an N64 growing up, I never owned, or played Banjo-Kazooie. I just started playing it on NSO last night (I'm about two hours in) and I am absolutely loving it! Can't wait to finally complete the entire game 24 years later!
Never owned it rented it multiple times and played it at a friends house. Have so many great memories playing this game. Played it again yesterday and it holds up really well. The camera takes a while to get used to

I played it back in the 90's - and absolutely loved it - and played it again a few years back on my Xbox. Now I'm going to play it again once I have finished Ocarina Of Time (because Majora's Mask is being released next month, so I wanted to do another playthrough before that comes). But I'm rambling! As I do... You see, I'm interested in whether it's nostalgia that makes me enjoy replaying these older games, or whether they genuinely are fantastic games. You know? Banjo-Tooie saves the notes because the worlds are interconnected, so they never "end", so to speak, as opposed to Banjo-Kazooie, where you can go, do everything and leave.
@@Vinicius_Berger Um, no, actually *you're* wrong my friend. Have you ever wondered why the notes in Tooie had been grouped together into nests of 5 and 20? I had this game ever since I was a kid and enjoyed playing it, but never really appreciated it for what it is. Now that I am replaying it on NSO, the music, gameplay, level design and exploration, are all exquisite. I couldn’t put this game down and felt like I was playing it for the first time in years.
I've been playing Banjo Kazooie so much the last 2 days, it's been a huge nostolgia trip for me. My one and only complaint is no map! I've gotten lost in Grunthilda's Lair and the worlds so many times 😂😂
I'm loving it. As a kid, I only ever played it once when rented from Blockbuster, and only played the first 2 levels. How did I let this goodness pass me by for so long??
I often end up thinking about the final proper world where the season changes based on which door you enter the level through... I haven't been there since the late 90's I think it might be about time to set off on an adventure to that level
Hey man awsome video, and its true awsome game.. But the big remaining question…: Will Banjo-tooie come to n64 expansion pack libary too? And when to expect this.. Having only 1 part not feel complete and for me personal its banjo-tooie i missed out on playing when i was kid.. So i hope you know more about this
4:38 actually when i played it, it didn't seem to be out of sync that much and is kinda barely noticeable on my end, only a few transition issue but it ends some what synced up to me... Banjo Tooie on the other hand... Dear god... the music Donkey Kong 64 had this problem too on the Wii U with the opening dialog...
Got Banjo Kazooie in 1999 for my birthday and it stood head and shoulders above every other game on the console for me. Like Alex, still my favorite game of all time. Played Kazooie and Tooie on a phone emulator a few years back and they are exactly as good as I remember them, i.e. Kazooie the best, Tooie pretty good.
What a coincidence, the original Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite game of all time, and I also played it for the first time when I was 8. It was magical before, and it's still magical nowadays. In my opinion, it's one of the few 3D games of the 5th generation that aged really well.

EDIT: Finished the video, it is pure chaos in the best possible way
im a massive gaming fanatic and loved video games all my life and this is by far my favorite of all time, we need more games like this , such a happy and funny atmosphere.
Hey I got that shirt!! 🤩🤩 I love FanGamer!! ALSO props for the challenge it gives you when you die and have to restart collecting notes and jinjos again.. I always loved that about the 64 version of the game!!
I've never gotten to play it before the n64 was just before my time I'm excited to play it for the first time
Brilliant video 😊 love Banjo Kazooie! Excited to play on the go.
This video is adorable. Video game man gushes over video game he loves is the kind of quality content I like from this channel.
Banjo Kazooie is also my favorite game of all time I love this appreciation for jt
This was my number 1 want when they brought out n64 games. I love this game everything is a 10.
Love the amount of vocal sound effects happening here
You took the words right out of my mouth. That’s exactly how I’ve felt about my favorite game of all time! It just never felt right to play if it wasn’t on Nintendo for me.
I had this game ever since I was a kid and enjoyed playing it, but never really appreciated it for what it is. Now that I am replaying it on NSO, the music, gameplay, level design and exploration, are all exquisite. I couldn’t put this game down and felt like I was playing it for the first time in years.
I want Diddy Kong Racing. That game is amazing
I love Banjo, but I’ve only played the XBL version, this one scares me too much lol
Rusty bucket bay….
Majora's Mask is just my favorite Zelda game, too. Banjo Kazooie is one of the most played games for me when I am just a kid
Only one of only a handful of games I’ve collected every trinket and item in the game. Brilliant.
I feel the same with Donkey Kong Country. My all time favorite game and I love it on SNES. Then they ported it to GBA and it just wasn’t the same.
Where can you buy that Banjo Kazooie controller holder?
I often end up thinking about the final proper world where the season changes based on which door you enter the level through... I haven't been there since the late 90's I think it might be about time to set off on an adventure to that level
Now I love NintendoLife even more!
Hey man awsome video, and its true awsome game..
But the big remaining question…:
Will Banjo-tooie come to n64 expansion pack libary too? And when to expect this..
Having only 1 part not feel complete and for me personal its banjo-tooie i missed out on playing when i was kid..
So i hope you know more about this
4:38 actually when i played it, it didn't seem to be out of sync that much and is kinda barely noticeable on my end, only a few transition issue but it ends some what synced up to me...
Banjo Tooie on the other hand... Dear god... the music
Donkey Kong 64 had this problem too on the Wii U with the opening dialog...
I'm looking forward to finally being able to play this game for the first time.
What a coincidence, the original Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite game of all time, and I also played it for the first time when I was 8.
It was magical before, and it's still magical nowadays. In my opinion, it's one of the few 3D games of the 5th generation that aged really well.
I love banjo kazooie sooo much I listen to the music from the game all the time!
Handheld Banjo is a dream come true! Love these online apps
Banjo twenty twenty tooie, this year anybody.
Heck ya! Gotta love Banjo & Kazooie alongside Luigi they are my favourite video game characters
I remember trying really hard to like that game as a kid, but I just couldn't find the way to.
I think Alex likes this game. Can't quite tell though.

The music in Banjo-Kazooie is so good
I’ve still got my originally cartilage too! I don’t want to know the amount of hours I’ve put into this, so many happy hours.
During lockdown I got my n64 out and replayed it, still so good!
I really hope that Microsoft is using this as a marketing strategy to get us excited for a potential sequel!!! PLEASE Rare!!
The subwoofer on my speakers at every intro, Heeeeelllloooo there
I loved Banjo-Kazooie so much back in the day that I read and wrote fanfiction for it.
Love these games and I actually really enjoy nuts and bolts too. The building aspect to that game was unbelievably good, wish they'd do another I'd love to see what they could do today but Xbox has ruined rare
Rare were a shell of what they were, that’s why Nintendo sold them. Now they don’t even have a small part that of what they were.
@@bensmith9984 Nintendo never owned Rare tho
@@patrickramseyart They owned a large minority stake that they sold. The budget of the company was backed by Nintendo entirely. Nintendo had the option to outright purchase rare but decided against (wisely) as it was a shell of what it was.
Sorry for the unrelated question but I’m really wondering what kind of microphone you are using. It sounds really crystal clear! Thanks ☺️
”move~” at 6:44 had me laughing
Gotta agree: one of the best N64 games, along with the sequel and the Zelda games for me. The music is so so good that I often listen to the OST while working. Love love love the duo and I hope they'll get a new installment eventually
Wasn't there also a rerelease in Rare replay? Or is that the same version from Xbox Arcade? I never played the game back in the day but I will try to play it now
I just notice how similar the music of Mario and rabbits is too banjo and kazooie
Banjo Kazooie's soundtrack gives me old school RuneScape vibes.
Love seeing this passion! 💕
Playing it myself 100% for the first time. I've played it a bit on n64 but never got into it till now
Speaking as someone who never played the n64 and can finally see what all the fuss is about Banjao and Kazooie, I see why people adore the franchise. I intend to get both games for my n64 in the future!
Not entirely related to this video but wanted to point out how excited I was when you said you loved nuts and bolts, always a bit annoyed when people complain about it as a game, it's a lot of fun and has some great ideas but yeah it definitely shouldn't have been a banjo game
During the N64 era, I bought nearly every game RARE made and none of them disappointed and yes, I loved Blast Corps.
