Fast forward to today and how to lose belly fat fast is still one of the more commonly searched health and fitness topics of all time.
That’s why today I’m going to show you exactly how to lose that stubborn stomach fat and start carving that sexy stomach.
And it’s all backed by science.
There are 5 main causes to a pesky belly bulge.
    #1. Overeating
Kind of obvious, here but it needs to be said.
The main culprit of belly fat is consuming too many calories leading to weight gain and stomach fat.
And the main way to lose the belly fat is reducing fat all across the entire body.
    #2. Hormone Imbalances, Specifically Cortisol
High amounts of the stress hormone cortisol have been linked to higher abdominal fat distribution.
Other hormonal issues have also been linked with slow weight loss and difficulty for the body to properly uptake nutrients.
So it’s just as important to get your hormones in check as it is to make sure your diet is aligned.
    #3. Bloating
Missed by a lot of health professionals, bloating certainly doesn’t help with belly fat.
This is usually caused by high sodium intake, excessive carbohydrate intake, and can even be a sign of food intolerance.
    #4. Age
The older you get, the harder the process of losing belly fat will become.
You can get a flat stomach at any age, it will just take more effort when you are 50 than when you are 20.
    #5. Alcohol Intake
Studies have shown that certain types of alcohol are directly correlated with stubborn belly fat.
And if your overall goal is to lose fat, cutting down on alcohol intake is a simple solution that really works.
Here’s how to lose belly fat, actually backed by science!!
    1. Chow Down on fiber rich foods
Studies have shown there is a direct relation between fiber intake and reduction of belly fat
The type of fiber you want to focus on is viscous fiber. These are the types of fibers that bind to water and slow down the digestion process.
It can be found in beans, vegetables, and whole fruits
    2. Cut out the two S’s - Sugar and Salt
Sugar is turned into fructose in the body which gets stored as visceral fat.
There are also plenty of studies that show how sugar increases belly fat, causes cravings, and is ultimately TERRIBLE for the body.
Cut it out of your diet.
There’s also similar problem with salt.
The high salt intake in an average diet causes stored water weight and lots of belly bloat.
Reducing salt intake to between 1500mg and 2000mg per day will usually result in an immediate reduction in belly bloat.
    3. Drink Green Tea or Coffee Before Workouts
Studies have shown that adding in caffeine before workouts
    -Increases work output
    -Helps burn more calories
-Shows a greater reduction in visceral fat
The best two healthy sources for caffeine are black coffee or green tea.
Drink 30 minutes before exercise for more gainz and less belly fat!
    4. Add Apple Cider Vinegar into The Diet
Apple cider vinegar is uniquely effective for weight loss and eliminating stomach fat.
Its ability to regulate blood sugar and curb appetite is also awesome for overall health.
Studies have also shown that those who consume 1 -2 tablespoons daily have a significant decrease in visceral fat than those who do not (study).
You can watch our video about it here if you’d like…
    5. Regulate your sleep patterns.
For every hour of sleep the body gets that is fewer than 8, the chances of visceral fat increase.
If you’re only getting in 6 hours a night, you’ll likely have a 22% increase in the gain of visceral fat (study).
There’s a reason lack of sleep is associated with cravings, high cortisol levels, poor skin, and other health issues.
Get 8 hours of high quality sleep every night.
    6. Eat More of These Fats
A study done by Swedish scientists showed a strange result.
Those who ate lots of polyunsaturated fats lost more visceral fat, lost more weight, and gained more lean muscle than those that ate other fats (study).
Polyunsaturated fats can be found in fish, nuts, and seeds

You should try snacking more between meals, also fasted morning workouts followed by an awesome breakfast jumpstart your metabolism for the entire day. The more lean muscle you aquire the more your body has to work to support it. And if you focus on low weight & lots of reps you can increase muscle density which has a compounding affect

Dark chocolate has little sugar in it and cocoa is actually pretty beneficial to you (but don't quote me on that, it's just work of mouth). I've seen someone mention to eat sweet fruit and that is actually really good advice as even though you may eat, for example, a lot of raspberries, you don't actually gain that much fat and/or calories bc fruits are just like that. As mentioned in the video, fruit also has high fiber so that's an added bonus!

iloveZeus123 yea but it’s not processed and it’s going to help keep cravings satisfied. When you get cravings it’s because you’re body needs glucose, found in fruits and vegetables, and its not going to spike your blood sugar or make you gain weight because it’s not going straight through your system when you eat whole fruits because you’re body has to break down everything else. Whereas sweets and other processed sugars are broken down way faster and so you can get blood sugar spikes because it’s dumping it all into your system at once. Fruits are good for you, duh.

    • @MirkwoodCrow

Study should be done in 4 parts to help the mind remember facts for a long time. Study the topic for 5 mins. The next day, study the same topic again. Study after two weeks and then after 1 month . By breaking down in 4 distinct times, your brain will store information better . I learned this trick from a psychology text book and it helped me get good grades. Best of all , get 5 previous year's exam papers and revise them . Normally , 60% of questions always come from previous exam papers .

sugar is my greatest weakness and probably the reason why i cant burn my stubborn belly fat. i been working out for about two months now. i try to make sure im eating a low calore diet but i cant seem to stop my sugar cravings and always give in even if i dont over eat i will still end up falling for small sugar cravings about 3 times a week...i dont know why i easily give in to sugar everytime..

I had a bit of a sugar problem. What I ended up doing was freezing a few pieces of really dark chocolate. Any time I got a craving for sugar, I would eat one of those. Other than that, I cut out coke and all snacks with sugar (sans fruit of course). Within two weeks I found that I was craving sugar drastically less. Now, I rarely crave any sugar.

    • @pepsicolla123
      @pepsicolla123 7 років тому +6

RubiMercuri Please dont try low carb like someone said. Natutal sugar is necessary for your body. Just try replacing processed sugar with stuff like fruits, white flour with whole grains and etc

No step in this video was about belly fat, it's about fat in general, if you do this and start skinning down in other areas with no belly reduction, don't worry, just keep on doing it and it will hit your belly. There's no way of losing fat in a specific location, your genetics and other factors determine where you store and consequently where you loose fat, you just gotta start burning.

Bruh Thank you my friend, I'm a 13 year old male. I was 60Kg when I was 12, I didn't take it that serious, but one day in my class my friends pinched me in my thighs when I sat down, I didn't know what to do, I was trying not to cry, on the same day I went to home and asked my mom "Why am I Fat?" While crying, my mom replied "It's ok my child, Beat the bullying by success". I started dieting, only 6 months, I'll tell what I did. I ate less food, cutting sugar and walking. That's all I did, now I'm 13 and my weight is 48kg.
Good luck who read this, stay determined, don't get distracted. Now my friends were astonished by my transformation. You can get there too.

    Amazing video as per usual!
    Notes for personal reference.
    What causes pesky belly bulge?
    - Overeating
    - High amounts of stress hormone cortisol; other hormone issues
    - Bloating; high sodium, carb intake, sign of food intolerance
    - Age
    - Alcohol intake
6 steps to losing belly fat:
    - Eat fibre rich food: beans, veggies, whole fruits
    - Cut out/reduce sugar & salt
    - Green tea/coffee 30 min before workout
    - Add apple cider vinegar to diet
    - Regulate sleep patterns; you need roughly 8
    - Eat more of these fats: fish, nuts, seeds

I have lost 26 kilos in the past 1 year from 97kilos to 71 kilos. All i did was-
    -Intermittent fasting 16/8
-Completely cut out sugar from diet
-eat a lot of green and leafy vegetables
-have 5 eggs a day omelette without yolk
-avoid carbs as much as possible.
    -moderate cardio exercise for 1hr/day
Trust me there is more satisfaction in fitting into your old clothes than buying new ones.
    Stay consistent! Don’t give up.

Matt S. Unfortunately you can't get rid of excess skin, it's literally impossible. It's like stretching a shirt, once it has been stretched out too far it won't go back. If you are not obese and only overweight then you should be fine.

"Only 6 hours of sleep" = "22% increase in visceral fat"
Meanwhile I barely get 3 hours of sleep a day. Lack of sleep, stress, and high-sodium ramen are the main culprit it seems.
I drink plain green tea everyday since I was a kid, and exercise daily, but my weight converges around 95 - 100kg (210 - 220lbs) in the end.

    • @marclink0
      @marclink0 5 років тому +2

Muscle is area specific. Fat is not.
Crunches =/= Loss of belly fat
Squats =/= Loss of thigh fat
Triceps =/= Loss of that dangling skin under the arm
Also, women naturally store fat in the lower body (pear shape) while men tend to do so in the abdomen (apple shape). Fat stored in the lower body is healthier. Your body needs this fat. Skinny is beauty is none other than a self destructive social construct that unrightfully leads to body shame. Good life habits without medical conditions means a healthy body, fat or not.

The Health Nerd there's no video here in favor of the filtered one because all people are making videos about the unfiltered acv. all the recipes say add 1-2 spoons of unfiltered acv and that is what provokes my mind. i didn't have any source from where I could know if that is helpful for our fatloss goals too. thankyou for the advise, I'll continue taking it then. maybe it'll work. :)

I agree with everything here. These statements are true and very important to know. I have been healthy, but I wanted to shed a few pounds and become more lean. Once I found a trainer who knew what they were taking about, they had me implement almost everything that is reiterated in this video. I am now down 15 lbs and 2% body fat in the last 6 weeks. Thank you for helping to educate the public on these important concepts!

To anyone who just got into working out READ THIS! As a newbie I also thought that if I only do abs workouts and lower stomach workouts - I'd get abs real soon. NOPE. Because you cannot put muscles where YOU want. Your body decides. So, instead of doing that, do HIIT workouts and high cardio. You won't regret it :)

im trying to lose weight using a method called intermittent fasting where you fast for 16 hours(including sleep) and can eat for the rest of the 8 hours the eating pattern is said to lower insulin levels to burn fat you can try this if you want to it is also said to increase human growth hormone which helps the growth of muscles so you workout less and gain more muscle some people claim that intermittent fasting is good for your health in other ways

The Great Propaganda It's not good for your thyroid and can cause it's disease. It also regulates every system in your body including hormones. Nit picking food throughout the day up to 8 times with the right foods is best. Fasting causes the body to go into starvation mode where loss of muscle and gaining fat at a much faster rate. Doing this over time will decrease your thyroid Ievels. Which means all systems functions will decrease through your body.
