you are on of the only drummer that i can find that plays it 100% good job sure!!! And credit for covering a legendary band! Ps. How long have you been playing for?
Absolutely the best stairway to heaven drum video I have seen.I can't thank u enough for making this it has helped me so much .Im in my 40sand I have seen so many Bonzo covers and u are awesome thanks again keep Rockne
Thanks so much for watching and kind & encouraging comment. Please check out the same performance but with a better sounding kit. The link is in the video bottom left. Thanks.
Spot on Sal....this is a great tune to drum because of all of the changes...a couple of years ago I had played this out in my band a few times and I remember it took me a good amount of time to listen to and put together. This was one of those songs I had to work on a section at a time. Great song choice and cover !!!!
are the ghost notes actually in the song? i'm trying to make a transcription but can't really hear them in the studio recording. either way they're a nice touch in the cover
Now that's a blessing to me, that my videos serve other drummers to learn drumming. Thanks for viewing and for sharing your kind & encouraging comment.
Thanks so much for your encouraging comment. If you click on the link in the video or in the video description you'll hear the same performance but with a better mix and drum kit sound. Thanks for checking it out.
1:36, did he get a little off timing there? I'm just pointing it out, if so, thats the only time. And that's pretty damn amazing to have only one time where you go a bit off timing. 5/5
That's a very astute observation, so thanks for sharing that, and good to see that this video can still be seen in countries because it just got blocked in the USA just yesterday.
This is really great! Watching you play and I'm trying to get better with the drums and I'm making good process because of youyr vids! Don't stop doing it! :)
@FabDrummer91 Thanks a lot for watching & commenting. I've been playing for 47 years and I'm still learning. I like to learn things I can't play. Eventually I hope to cover more complex stuff, such as Rush.
@TangerineWizard123 I'm in a few right now, mainly in church, we're rocking it this Sunday. Over the decades I've played in literally 100s of bands of all genres and been on 100s of recordings, none of which made it big. Thanks for checking out my videos.
Thanks so much, you don't know how honored I am to know that my video helps you with your drumming. Let me if you ever have any questions, I like to share. And be sure to click the link in the video to a better audio mix and sounding kit of this very same cover. Thanks for sharing and watching and good going with your drumming.
@powergirl901 Yes, I've seen her videos, very good drummer she is, and yes, she tends to add her own thing to the covers which I think is just another approach to covers. The approach I took with this classic song was to illustrate Bonham's drumming as it he played it on the recording.
Thank you for watching this cover. I have a tutorial on how to practice and learn ghost notes. go to my channel and use the search engine and type in “ghost notes” - you should find it and if you don’t I can post the link here.
@TheCarrerafour Thank you very much for your well informed comment, sounds like you know drumming. I appreciate your encouragement and for checking this out.
@RobMR3 Thank you. I play jazz & funk so that stuff shows up nicely in places like the bridge of this song. It can be practiced, there are studies available, both on the web & in texts that can get that developed.
@MegaCrapshooter Thanks a lot, appreciate you checking it out and comment. I'm sorry to tell you this, because I don't have full range hearing, but the hi-hat is very present, even I could hear it and I've lost some the high end in my hearing. Try listening with headphones.
@mikecohn4000 Thanks. Yea, that Bonzo Beat MT kit from Drum Masters is the best sounding Bonham kit I've heard so far. Addictive Drums has some good Bonham kits too.
Man i just Love this song... you really rock...(if you remember me, from mexico) if you do not mind, I would like to share this video to all my friends. and show how to play a true master of the drums... :D
@readyeddy101 Thanks Nick. Yes, me too, section by section. That middle section was troublesome as there must be some odd measures there, I gave up trying to figure it out by counting and just relied on learning Page's guitar part.
That part is synchopated, so learn where the snare accents are in relationship to the quarter note pulse. Loop the section in your iPod or DAW and just keep playing it until you have it. I think what I'm describing to you is called "practice", and there's no getting away from it. I have to do it all the time with many of the covers I do. Hope that helps and thanks for watching this video.
@MrJoseph676 Sure MrJoseph, I see you have as a featured video one promoting the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, I hope so as I don't read Spanish. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting. MrJoseph Claro, veo que usted tiene como uno de los videos destacados de la promoción de la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, espero que así como yo no leen español. Muchas gracias por ver y comentar.
@ruby2618 Thanks, I spent the time studying John's drumming on this song so that I would do justice to it. I didn't want to fake it or play my own interpretation, though I am playing with my feel but being in John's groove.
Hi I’m a beginner drummer and i just wanted to ask how did you master the thingy where you hit the ride cymbal and step on the hi hat pedal. Whenever i try to do that, i always go off beat,. Also i really enjoyed this cover.
Hi Julian, well you just practice playing what it is you want to master over and over until you get and own it and becomes part of your expression and can be played at various tempos. I'm constantly learning to play technique that is uncomfortable and new. Thank you for watching the cover video, it's much appreciated.
Great am sitting here since hours and am listening to these covers. Ur drumstyle gives these songs a new sound, like it very much. Really awesome
that moment at 2:09 gets me everytime man, first time I heard that I repeated that section about 20 times in a row!
Yea, me too.
Goosebumps!!!!
Very simple fill but very effective, one of the best.
agreed
Yup it's pretty cool but simple it sounds very hard because of base and speed.
you are on of the only drummer that i can find that plays it 100% good job sure!!! And credit for covering a legendary band!
Ps. How long have you been playing for?
Wow man, you're awesome, you've really mastered the drums all the way.

Great performance, great sound, great cover. I really like this drum library - in my opinion it's much better than competition.
1:36, did he get a little off timing there? I'm just pointing it out, if so, thats the only time. And that's pretty damn amazing to have only one time where you go a bit off timing. 5/5
Thanks for checking it out.
Take No Prisoners i
I beg to differ, I've been listening and playing this piece since it was released, and that's exactly the way it is played, with a 1/32 delay.
Such smooth and disciplined drumming...I admire you my friend.
Wow! Zeppelin as well! Great to see how Bonzo did it. Thank you.
And thank you for checking it out.
That's a very astute observation, so thanks for sharing that, and good to see that this video can still be seen in countries because it just got blocked in the USA just yesterday.

Man you make it look so easy to play! If you were thinking what you're going to have for dinner later on 😉
Well it is once you know how. It becomes 2nd nature. Thank you for viewing the video.
@ruby2618 Thanks, I spent the time studying John's drumming on this song so that I would do justice to it. I didn't want to fake it or play my own interpretation, though I am playing with my feel but being in John's groove.

rhythmantic - Sal D'Amato THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Julian Chih
Glad to and I hope it helps.
Be patient and take it slow when learning new technique and it helps to use a metronome.
