Every time i see you playing drums you are so relexed and it looks so simple. No overplaying and great timing. You are one of my favorite cover drummer, keep on playing. Da hat einer sooo richtig Spaß an der Sache.
Right on, thanks for sharing. As a drummer who's played for so many gigs where people were dancing, I knew we were doing the job when there were people on the dance floor. From an ancient proverb: "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!"
When I first saw The Beatles, I wanted to be a drummer. Sadly, I did not have what it takes. If I could play drums, I wish I could play as well as you. You sit there and look totally happy at drumming. I agree, you are the best drummer on UA-cam. BTW.. I play guitar, and when I play a Beatles song, I use your videos of you drumming. It is nice to have drummer playing along with me.
Thank you. Following is my setup, hope it helps. • MIDI out from Roland V-Drum • to M-Audio MIDIsport 2x2 interface • to USB port of MacBook Pro • running Logic Pro 9 or Garage Band • sample plug-in (see next step) that is instantiated in its own track/channel • triggering any one of the following: Superior Drummer 2.3, or Addictive Drums, Studio Drummer, Abbey Road Drummer, BFD2, Steven Slate Drums 4, or Drum Masters2
Como baterista frustado que soy es un placer ver un maestro como usted haciendo de cierta forma realidad la manera de tocar tan espectacularmente la bateria, gracias..Totales!!
thank you for this amazing video, I could see you transmiting your passion for music and for the drumms , thank you again for the opportunity of watch you play and a big hug to you !!
Beautiful job !! You captured Jeff's rhythm so well, along with the spirit he played with in that tune. He was a unique master and your recording is a nice tribute to him. I took my first lesson with his Dad in the last century... lifetimes ago. " Skinny" and his kids made quite a contribution to music and Jeff inspired many with his talent.
Right on the money as usual Sal. Toto was one of the great rock bands. I really dig the quick the quick cymbal crashes after the snare. A signature to the cover as well as the toms. Nice stuff....Nick
After I saw/heard you play this tune, I started getting into your videos. I tried Africa, and it just came out so stiff. I didn’t keep it public. You made this feel better than anyone version I’ve seen of this tune. Same thing on Every Breath.
What a trip man, superb! One of my all time fave tracks covered superbly. You make it look easy. I'm delighted you got around to this one so quickly5 starsand the rest********I love your sound quality over the track. Your playing NEVER imposes on the song but only compliments it .It's a joy to listen to all your stuff...
Awesome bro. Toto was such an underappreciated band. Thanks for the video, at my skill level this might be a good one to learn, learning how to space 16th notes on the ride. Thank for the inspiration and song choice.
you're so talented :) This is a great song choice, it always makes me happy when I hear it and seeing how the drums are played in this song is a treat.
Okay Okay, I'll "Chime In" on this too. Sal, you're AEWSOME! What a groove this recod has and you never waver from the tempo. I'll be suggesting that Greg watch your videos as well. It almost makes me want to put my guitar down and learn drums! Hope all is well my friend. I'll plant you now and dig you later Dave
You are so kind Mr A. Well here's another one of those tunes that has soul, with the pulse and groove of the late great Jeff Porcaro. I did take the liberty to interpret the groove through my own sense of rhythm. Really dig that first drum fill of Jeff's. Thanks so much for watching my videos, I'm very appreciative of your encouraging comments. Peace!
Great cover and great drumming! I watched your video a couple days ago and you inspired me to cover and upload this timeless tune. I really liked your hi-hat on the "and" through the chorus and I incorporated it into my cover. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your passion for drumming and music!
Hello and you are very welcome. I enjoy watching your approach to many diverse covers on your channel! Thank you for taking your time to check out our cover of this great timeless tune...very kind of you! Thanks for your kind words.
Very nice steady groove and great fills Sal. This vid was from the earlier YT days being uploaded over 6 yrs ago. That is cool. I always enjoy watching your performances and know that your drum covers stay true to the original with of course, as with any drummer, a degree of your own flair and nuances. If I want to work on a drum cover I watch yours. You are always the man and a long time YT friend. Keep bringing it Sal.........Nick
readyeddy101 Hey Nick, thanks so much for stopping by my channel and checking out my cover of the song. This video was blocked for some time and then it was unblocked, and I'm hoping that's what will happen to my 160+ videos of covers of the Beatles. Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments and for your support and friendship God bless you bro'!
Wow! I hope they unblock all those Beatles vids as well. Many drummers rely on watching good drummers like yourself when trying to learn a cover. Not all musicians read music and they depend on sound and sight as well. I think in the case of drumming a lot can be learned by watching what parts of the kit are used throughout a song. Also watching drumming styles, sticking, etc are very important. So for educational reasons they should not be blocked. To me this is clearly stated in the copyright usage laws as long as you are not profiting. It is your drumming that is being heard at a much higher sound than the original song recording. Keep up the good work that you do Sal and God bless you my friend.....Nick
Nick, thank you for outlining how these videos are used by other musicians. I've not given it much thought, and so your comments are very educating. Keep drumming my friend.
@ferchunisdrums Thanks, especially appreciate your comment coming from a very skilled drummer like yourself. I will be checking out your Weckl covers, I haven't done anything by him yet as they require a lot of practice.
@dourev Sure, thanks. I don't know of a method in particular but You Tube has plenty of beginner lessons I've seen, so check that out. Let me know if you ever have any questions with anything in particular, I'll be happy to reply.
You makes me happy with your passion for drums!!! i see you smile playing...is awesome! Tnx for this emotion! (sorry for my bad english if i wrong some grammatical things^^)
@sbbinahee Thanks for such a detailed critique. that's good to hear about the mix because I do work on finding the right drum kit sound to match the recording and mix my track so that it blends in with the song, but since it is a drum cover, I'll mix the drums a bit on top. Thanks so much, and as always, I really appreciate you checking out my videos and for your comments.
Sal, This is really good. I like the fact that you keep it simple, but just enough to sound nice. Lot of the drummers online get a little too fancy and hard to follow along.
@steena111 Thanks Eric. Yes I played the 3 services this morning, it was spirited. Lots of folks came accepted Christ & were baptized today, awesome. We had a 16 people choir with a cello & 2 violins. Ugur played guitar. Happy Easter, thanks for checking out the video.
@Cchaos100 The mix of the drums on the recording is so integrated with the other instruments that it wasn't evident at first, so I approached it organically by playing along to find the groove and developing what came out and this was the result. Thanks for watching, it pleases me that other drummers find my videos helpful. Thanks.
This is probably my very favorite. Yes...I'm now convinced. Of course I say that just about every time I watch one of your videos. lol But pretty sure this time. Amazing! :)
@Sergio1956flor Thanks. Not much practice as the rhythm of the song plays itself. I just had to figure out the drum fills, what they were and where they came in on the bar..
Every time i see you playing drums you are so relexed and it looks so simple.
No overplaying and great timing. You are one of my favorite cover drummer, keep on playing.

Simple, beautiful, clean and great to listen to.

It is a pleasure to hear you playing drums, makes us see the beautiful colors of life !! Thanks
Well thank you very much.
