"And when shes winding down the road"...yes you have it perfect!! Isn't that a great beat at that part of the song? Took me an hour to dissect that beat, but when you have it, it feels so smooth! John Bonham was a genius. Your performance is FANTASTIC. Beat for beat...perfect!
Beautifully done man! - really like your mix here between your playing and song - hit it right on. Gotta say the best drum cover I have seen yet. Thanks for this.
This is the only Led Zep song I've found that I can bullshit my way through using my minuscule amount of talent. You are so much better, especially with those ghost notes holy crap... amazing
I definitely appreciate the kind words, and have no doubt that if you're able to get through Stairway To Heaven, that a whole world of songs are in your future if you keep at it...
I actually really appreciate the way you phrased that! For as silly it can be to jam in my garage with the idea of throwing videos up on UA-cam, I do take learning the parts pretty seriously. Nobody has ever put it that way, so thank you! 🤗
I'm in the process of trying to learn this and there are so many different interpretations. This one "feels" right to me and is very smooth. Would love to have an insert isolated on the kick as that gets pretty busy around verse 7 and an overhead would be awesome, too. The sound mixing is well done, too. Thanks for posting this.
I always loved how much the ghost notes in this song melodically complimented the acoustic guitar and connected the song more than any other component - like the ghost notes are the steps you're taking through the countryside, and the other instruments are all your other senses. I know that's way overthinking it, but this song definitely wouldn't be the masterpiece that it is without Bonham's contribution.
Probably your the luckiest person in the whole world who owns all the JOHN BONHAM DRUM KITS AND who also owns BONZO'S TALENT WISHES FROM INDIA STAY SAFE STAY HAPPY 😊 TQS BYE
Thanks so much, Casey! And you're right! I actually have a pair of 15" Sound Edge 2002s from the 70's, but thought these 404s were a little closer in tone to what he may have used (Giant Beats? 602s?). Shortly after this, I started using the sound edge bottom hat with the top 404 and LOVE that combination!
Are you guys ever copping to the Salt Make City are on any of your Led Zepagain Tours? I’d love to assess you guys. I heard you guys are absolutely mind blowing live. Keep up the videos and God bless you and yours.
Hey Emil! I thought we had something on the books for SLC this year, but I guess something fell through. I know the band is anxious to get back out there, so my hope is that it's sooner than later. I really appreciate you leaving the kind comment. My guess is I'll be seeing you soon enough!
Kick It Like Bonham well I’m glad you were able to interpret my comment. I should’ve proof read. Anyway, thanks for the reply and I’ll keep my eyes out and in the meantime, I’ll just have to get my fix of your drumming through your Instructional Videos here on UA-cam! Hopefully, I’ll be able to catch you live in Salt Lake City one of these days!
Excellent work! Especially with the Triplet fills. But one tiny thing missing is a few more rim shots. I don’t have the sheet music it just seems like there’s that snare “pop” missing in a few spots. Other than that, awesome!
Thanks, man. It's true about those rim shots. My plan is to go back through and redo this video at some point. I've also subsequently found that a lot of it has to do with how those sessions were engineered; instead of having spot mics on everything, using overheads/one overhead, one to the side by the floor toms gives you so much more pop, too.
Whoa. Gotta say. Stroke for stroke this is the truest cover of this song ever done.
By far the best I've ever seen hell his son can't come this close. Amazing
Lol
link to a better one Lol @@cthumann
Agreed 👍 !!!
This guy did a cover of Achilles Last Stand. It was spot on perfect....it blew my friggin' mind.
Angels were brough upon Led Zeppelin when they recorded this in the studio, the ultinate rock n roll song. Bonzo would be proud of you!
2:12 Almost look forward to that magnificent roll more than some of Page’s soloing notes!
Ha, ha! You just described where my head is whenever I hear this song!
I, too, love it!
badum badum badum badumm ta-ta tssss!
This has got just the right feel. As close to perfect as I think anyone could get.
This guy just nails it!!!!...No extra b.s. fills!..Spot on!!! Great job!!..Thank you!!!!!
Great job. You pretty much nailed it note for note.
Close my eyes, and I can't tell it's not Bonham.... Stellar job.

Beautifully done man! - really like your mix here between your playing and song - hit it right on. Gotta say the best drum cover I have seen yet. Thanks for this.
The drums sound fantastic. Your playing is excellent
One of your best. If I had only heard this, I would have thought it was Bonham. Seriously.
When you can do a kick-ass version of (maybe) the greatest drumming song, of the greatest rock drummer... that's pretty damn good. Well done!
This is the only Led Zep song I've found that I can bullshit my way through using my minuscule amount of talent. You are so much better, especially with those ghost notes holy crap... amazing

Boy this cover was taken very seriously! Bravo! Nice playing bud!

Together with Bonzoleum the best Bonham-drumming on UA-cam
Have your seen Terry and George's UA-cam channel - Bonhamology? George can do EVERYTHING!!!
@@KickItLikeBonham I am a subscriber of George's channel, yes, outstanding. I have lately enjoyed his Moby Dick version

Closest ive seen!
Beautiful Kit !
FLAWLESS! Thank you!
There needs to be a Led Zeppelin biopic
Fact! Get Cameron Crowe behind the camera again, and make the love letter that band deserves!
"theft the movie" at this point I think it would cost them more than its worth
i actually love playing this song on drums even though it's more famous for the guitar
i know right, the snare fills are satisfying
nice, like the ride arm on the Bass
It's such a brilliant invention! I love that! It is so nice not having to carry around an extra boom cymbal stand in your hardware case...
Wow heartbeat of the song, i felt that!
Are you on tour with Led Zepagain right now?
We have a local show in Southern California at the Coach House this coming Saturday. Then we're up in the Pacific Northwest for a couple weeks.
@@KickItLikeBonham Oh sweet, I got tickets to one of your shows so I hope to see you there!
@@garageman_ Right on! Which show are you going to? I'd be happy to say 'hi' afterwards,!

Bonham's perfect demonstration that the kit is used to enhance the music, not dominate it.

Black sabbath - War pigs!! Cmon give us some killer wardddd
There have definitely been a lot of requests to cover some Bill Ward. I will have to get around to that by popular request...
