The Beatles all over again, a Yoko cling on. Not nice to see. I liked the way Linda McCartney went about being the wife of a muso in an incredibly famous, iconic band.
In the early to mid 90s, my boys and i were at a birthday party for this model chick that was seeing the lead singer in my band, AND she was friends with Perry- who was obviously enamored with her. About three or four of us were hanging out in the backroom, and Perry was out there with us, talking to nobody. I remember thinking “man, what a weird lonely situation for this guy”…..we were all strung out back then, but i will never forget thinking how lonely that guy must have been to sit there with a group of strangers he didnt know, waiting for the attention of a girl that was the star that night, at her own birthday. I remember thinking, “man this guy is as lonely as we are except he probably cant trust anyone that tries to be friendly….so why bother trying to talk to him?” We were jamming on acoustical guitars and a couple Congo’s, and he sat in that room with us, waiting for her and never saying a word. From personal experience, i can tell you that so many of these strung out musicians are lonely people, and that H demon never goes away- the best you can do is keep it at bay as much as possible. That lashing out from Perry is something ive witnessed and experienced first hand, so i have no doubt his behavior is related to chemical assistance. Something happens when you are loaded and angry- your immediate emotions take over every logical thought and you act out, usually to your own detriment. I loved that band back then- but seeing him in that very human moment really shed light on the way things ACTUALLY are, as opposed to the way fans THINK they are. I hope they can forgive and forget- but the same kind of shit happened in my band and many others, so ill be shocked if they manage to overcome it. Considering it took over a decade to get to this point…..it doesnt look good.
This sounds wayyyy more legit than Yoko Ono's little PR statement about "sound issues" in his monitor....Honestly this whole obsession with his wife it's codependent and annoying. She has nothing to do with the band. Get her offstage and off the screen and sober up!
It's the makeup! I played in a band when I was younger and used to wear it and when you get older it doesn't have the same effect. Maybe even the opposite.
It was not an altercation between Dave and Perry. It was Perry going rogue and Dave being as kind as he could be to de-escalate. Dave was never part of the aggression. 100% of this is on Perry. He sabotaged a very special band and it will never be the same. This enigmatic force of nature in alternative rock that awed us all for decades was destroyed in a few seconds by a fool. Saw you at Aloha Tower in Honolulu in the 90's and was blown away. Then I saw you last August in San Diego and the band killed it except you Perry. Back in the 90's when you witnessed Perry doing "Mountain song" it was a transitional life changing experience. In San Diego a couple months ago it was a weak, old washed up guy that could not sing fiddling about with some electronic device instead of singing. Drinking straight from a bottle of red wine. Getting hammered. Ripping off his fans by being shitfaced.
Let's face it, it's not as bad as all that--because the REAL Janes was from 1986-91 and everything after has just been a kind of cool tribute act. That's not to say there haven't been some good tours--I saw them in 2001 and they rocked, *hard* --but in terms of functionally creating new music they've only put out two albums since the initial breakup, both of them pretty shaky. It was clear without Avery there, something was missing. I realize that having him back in the band and the group recording new material brought a lot of hope back to the fans, and the 2 new reunion songs we got aren't bad, but it still seems clear to me that whatever *deep* magic the band carried from 86-91 simply left, never to come back. Perhaps it's better they break up like this rather than disappoint everyone with another shaky studio album. It's a real shame though for the fans who had tickets to these shows and were excited about seeing the original four do their thing. The first few dates of this tour were actually pretty great, but seeing Perry's rapid deterioration on the following nights, leading to the fight, is really f'in depressing. But for me at least, Jane's Addiction kind of died back in 1991; they were one of those short-lived legendary bands like The Velvet Underground, Buffalo Springfield, The Zombies and Big Star. I never expected great things from them after that.
@@spiritof6663 Perry has not been able to sing for 20 years or so. He’s been trying to hide the fact by using too many effects. I think they started to use the dancers to distract the audience at least partly because of that as well. When I first noticed him struggling, and when it only seemed to get worse on every tour, I couldn’t understand, why would anybody go to their gigs anymore. Especially when the ticket prices started skyrocketing. Anyway, they were great in the 90’s indeed. (Nice to see somebody acknowledging Big Star btw. Most of my friends have never even heard of them).✌️
Perry Farrell's excuse: "I have the exact same hearing loss and tinnitus as every other musician or music fan". I guess we should get mad at Dave Navarro?
People love joking about "what does Corey Taylor think?" But has anyone asked, why the f*** is Corey Taylor always being asked about stuff that doesn't pertain to him?
He gets asked about it because he's known to have an opinion about everything and be very outspoken about it. Even when he isn't asked he speaks about everything like he's an expert.
Damn, that's cold-blooded. If Perry Farrell continues on his current egocentric path disconnected from the grassroots and real community, mental health might worsen. Let's hope he finds peace and good mental health, instead.
I worked with Jane's back in the 90's. Perry was a hand full even back then, with what I can only assume was a substance issue. We delt with long delays and other such problems just trying to start the show. Once started we often delt with Perry trying Dave's patience with rambling talk between songs. I hope the best for Perry as he fights thru this issue.
not surprised that Farrell is still unsteady... Navarro's buddies are not the most unbiased sources, but Farrell was always squirrelly even back in the day... and drunk... but sounds like cognitive issues... years of alcohol and drug abuse affects some people more radically than others...early onset dementia often triggers confused lashing out and anger display
please note: I love Jane's Addiction. I was doing college radio when they launched and they were frikkin standouts... Farrell was hugely responsible for that, and it saddens me greatly that this is happening

He's a very strong person. His mother and aunt were murdered by her ex-boyfriend when he was young. It took years to get an arrest. Dave made a documentary about it, it's definitely worth checking out. He seems to be a very kind and intelligent man.
Let’s see if in a few years people think differently. Not saying one way or the other, but thinking you know someone because of what they put out to the public, or their publicist put out. Look man, I'm 53 now and all the bands I grew up to are my age or older. At some point people let bygones be bygones, they agree to disagree, egos are put aside and heck, many get sobered up and end up making great music and touring! Yet there are some that just like drama, can't get sober, not taking care of themselves physically, vocally and so on. So here we are with many of our favorite artists falling by the wayside, losing amazing musicians to addiction, suicide etc...let's support our favorite artists, not point fingers, spread negative energy and put others down. Hope they can work it out, thoughts and prayers to all those struggling ❤👊🏾 Thanks for the news brother 🤘🏾

Perry looks like a corpse in the thumbnail 😂
he acted like a child and ruined thousands of peoples plans to see the band play, absolutely selfish behaviour, he would’ve been better off staying home.
he looks and acts like amy winehouse wearing a perry farrell skin suit from spirit halloween. too bad he can't sing like her.

Why do all these older rock stars end up look like grandmas?
Drugs, the answer is drugs.
It's the makeup! I played in a band when I was younger and used to wear it and when you get older it doesn't have the same effect. Maybe even the opposite.
bahahaha Lemmy had it right, legend

Is Perry's wife trying to be the next Yoko Ono?
No
Pretty damn close. But I blame Ferrell at the end of the day.
I thought Perry was gay?
The comments she made about Dave on her Instagram seems like is trying to get a rise out of her husband.
I blame simps. People spoil their wives and never put them in their place. Just like all those military dependas
@@spiritof6663
Perry has not been able to sing for 20 years or so.

Jane’s Addiction was the soundtrack of my late teens, early college years and I’ll always love the band and their music. I wish them all the best
Dave is so chill.
PERRY IS OUT OF HIS MIND.
Loss of hearing is the primary lead to dementia or directly causes audio/visual hallucination … sundowners causes confused aggression.
not surprised that Farrell is still unsteady... Navarro's buddies are not the most unbiased sources, but Farrell was always squirrelly even back in the day... and drunk... but sounds like cognitive issues... years of alcohol and drug abuse affects some people more radically than others...early onset dementia often triggers confused lashing out and anger display
Exactly what I was thinking! Was gonna mention the early onset dementia so thank you for bringing that up. Peace Dude! 👍

Sometimes he also shaves his head and gives the children a bag of his hair. That's why everyone jokes about what he would think; 'cause he's usually just thinking of the children, frankly 🤷🏻♂️
