Built like M1 Abrams tanks. Hope they're lighter than the swamp ash Tribute series ASAT I used to own that tipped the scale well past the 10 pound mark. Was like hanging a cruise ship anchor around your neck.
Jerry is the quintessential OG rock god guitar hero!! His tone, talent, and stories have inspired countless others. Another amazing RR PG, Bravo and Well Done!!
Jerry Cantrell and his music has meant so much to me over the decades and to see him still loving what he does and touring, it's a very inspiring and comforting thing! This was great guys! thank you for this look at Jerry's rig!
I noticed people from the East Coast during conversation will either say Ya know.. or Ya know? either in question form or while pointing something out like Zakk lol. Folks from the West Coast do the same but with Yeah..(in agreement) or Yeah?(while questioning) during their conversation like Jerry lol.
13:10 Big flex, but I have one of those missing Bogner Fish preamps. No lie. I scooped it from his former tech in the early 2002. Spoke to Reinhold Bogner, who confirmed it was 1 of 5 total modded Fishs he had at the time. 🤘😎🤘
i love when the guitarists actually do the rundowns instead of their techs. techs understand the rig but they never get the "why", and besides having the artists do them feels so much more personal!
I mean,...Jerry is rock royalty at this point. Amazing songwriter, musician, music ambassador and a classy-ass gentleman. Lucky to have him still making amazing music.
So glad you played the Municipal Auditorium. I have ticket stubs from the early 80s and 90s. I miss seeing concerts there. Glad AIC played there. Love your gear. I saw you open for Van Halen. 1991. Saw AIC at the Municipal in 2010. 👍👏
I love when the artist does the rig rundown his or herself, instead of the guitar tech. Both is fine of course, but otherwise it seems like the vibe is I'm TOO BIG to do your rig rundown. Jerry Cantrell is one of my favorite singers, songwriters and guitarists. Incredibly innovative in so many ways. AND he seems like a great guy too.
Wow, I'm really surprised to see Jerry is still using the Bogner Fish with a Two/Ninety/Two for his main rig. That's so damn cool, I love it! I bet his power amp was the giant heavy AF VHT version back in the day. It's great to see a tone master like Jerry still rocking some cool rack gear.
@@Crimsonskiessound I know that Jerry relied on a Bogner Fish and Mesaboogie poweramp back in the day. It's always nice and kind of refreshing to go back to an old rig for a type of sound
@@anahowanafor sure yup the fish was a staple for a long time. For quite a while he stopped using the fish and was using a bogner shiva and Friedman Marsha, then obviously he had his signature jj100 he used for the last Alice tour. Sometimes going back to your roots sonically is a good thing. Puts you in a particular headspace.
Saw Jerry in his last solo tour in a Baltimore club called Ram's Head. Got there early and was like 10 ft from the stage, he was looking right at me the whole show. Def see his solo stuff, he's never written a bad song
I got to play that white cigar burned LP custom when I worked for the Gibson Custom Shop in 2007…I think it was a 1985 LP. They were going to do a signature series but I don’t think it ever happened…
Cabs? I saw Bogner’s on stage, looking like Ubercabs. But it would be nice to know, especially speaker mix (T75/V30? His Friedman cabs were x4 V30 and GB25/V30 mixed).
Great video! The G&Ls hit all my crazy buttons though. All my guitars have to be super clean, no stickers or scratches. But I totally understand his vibe with them.
That G&L asat (the tele one) with the chunky MFD pickups is so good. I have an old one, like '91, and it's the best playing guitar I own. Those pickups can do almost anything.
When I see Jerry I always notice how much gratitude he carries, he always mentions his colleagues in all his music endeavors. I’ve definitely taken a page out of his play book when it comes to my own musical approach. Absolutely love Jerry and his music. Thank you Premier Guitar and Jerry for the great rig rundown.
I remember the original one from over a decade was one of the first Rig Rundowns I watched so this was a lot of fun to see, Jerry is such a killer guitarist and G&L is a great brand as well
I cannot say enough good things about Motor City Pickups. I live in Detroit and swapped the bridge pup on my Jerry signature LP for a Motor City “Detroiter” and it’s just fucking solid. Wade might not be the quickest at responding online but damn those pickups are worth the wait….lol
jerry is the reason i spend ten times more time writing great songs, instead of just letting songs be good enough, its like whatever jerry cantrell writes is perfection.
JJ worked in the warehouse back of a legendary Garland Tx store named Arnold & Morgan where Jimmy Wallace worked as well and bought a warehouse full of classic guitars for cheap trade in value. l bought a LP Artisan, Sunn amps etc from there years before l worked there and even onto when it turned to Melody Shops. lf you know you know.

Jerry playing the same two battered G&L guitars for 40 years is biblical, best endorsement ever
If it aint broke don't fix it

needs to retire the OGs from the road
He got back the stolen one. I got to add that to his wiki page. FIRST!
Same with Nuno play his N2
JC is one of the most consistently brilliant players/songwriters ever. There isn't a bad song in his entire catalog.
Facts
Fo sho
And yet still somehow if feels like he’s under appreciated
One of the greatest riff creators ever imo , up there with Iommi , Angus and Page .
He is the Tom Petty of hard rock. Not a bad song. Ever!
Finally i see a G&L in Rig Rundown! My favorite guitar brand.
They should be way more popular
Great guitars.
❤Their M.F.single coils have a unique sound,different than Fender;G&Ls are wonderful!
He’s still playing them live! I finally caught a gig this tour; it was like staring at history. And of course they sounded amazing.
Best kept secret.
I've seen Jerry twice in '22 and '23 and His guitar tone live is insane.

Zakk Wylde likes to say “You know” and Jerry likes to say “Yeah”
Zakk says "obviously" a lot obviously.

Jim root says “ ya know”
@@herse83 Recently Jim Root has added the word “Honestly” to his vocabulary when he does a rig rundown of his gear.
Yeah totally
What a treat, man. Jerry Cantrell’s rig rundown! My top 5 guitar players ever.
Thank you, Premier!

If you're interested in selling it, get at me.
awesome!
offer Jerry to swap it with one of his spares ;)
Taking a shot every time the man says “yeah” would be a lethal drinking game ☠️ love ya JC!!
"yeah" -Jerry Cantrell
I've always enjoyed listening to Jerry speak. Such a down to earth, genuine dude.
Jerry has been my favorite guitar player and 2nd favorite singer since the early 1989, his riffs are so GD bad ass!!
Lots of the greats just send their tech for these types of interviews, it's pretty chill of Jerry to be here for us. Yeah.
Such a great rundown! Pretty sick Jerry ran through the rig personally. Also cool he gives credit to everyone that helps him do what he does.
Love Jerry and everything he's does musically! Tone for days!!!
What an incredible person.
(Jerry)
Thank you for your time ,
Brother!
Jerry is my favorite living singer, songwriter and guitarist. His talent is unmatched in my book!
This dude is such a balls to the wall player.... AND he can sing. GREAT Rig Rundown..... fuckin' love Premier Guitar!
U dudes act like u wanna get up on his Shlong
2:52 there's a cat living in the rig? Love it
Así es, ¡buena vista!
Jerry loves his cats...
lol cat be like, 'is it show-time, yet?'
Jerry is a cat man, dude loves his cats and has multiple. Also after Layne died Jerry took his cat Sadie and had her until her death in 2010
My favorite guitarist of all time, can't wait for the show in February!
i love when the guitarists actually do the rundowns instead of their techs. techs understand the rig but they never get the "why", and besides having the artists do them feels so much more personal!
Most of the time the techs know more about the gear. Jerry knows his gear so it makes sense.
Seen AIC in Dublin around 93.still the best show ever

I think they’re usually just too busy as opposed to big timing Premier Guitar. But yeah I agree it’s so much better when they do it themselves.
I saw aic in 1990 when they opened for Megadeht @ the Palladium in Hollywood, he was using a Marhsall 9000 Series rack gear., then he went to Bogner.
G&L & Fryette - two of my favourites.

I believe it’s more of a recent thing he brought back. Dave Friedman had mentioned on tone talk that using the fish again was new

Real early AIC touring rig was Fish - VHT power amp, then he was on a TubeWorks power amp for a long time, then the Mesa power amps
You’re talking about the 2150, and yes he did.
Awesome rig rundown, looking forward to the solo tour following the album release ;-)
Love the KISW stickers...Seattle's best "Rock"!!
Damn, 800 bucks in 1988 would’ve been pretty damn expensive!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah…..Jerry is king
JC is my riff master spirit animal
Amazing stuff.
Is it just me or does Jerry seem like an Uber chill guy. All real, no Hollywood bullshit or false pretenses. Thank you Jerry for all the music.
That setlist looks sick!
Looking forward to the Ryan Adam's rig rundown you shot a couple years back. Saw alot of it on his IG live.
love these guys saw them 2 times in Montreal
Thank you for giving props to the half time section in Vilified. JC is the man!
I saw Cantrell and click immediately
Jerry my guitar hero 😎😎😎 Thanks for the video.

I noticed on the one pedal 'Voices' is marked on there.
Would love to hear that live.

Gee who do they play with?
That's such a funny understated way to say it.
No guitar techs coming on... just the man himself
Its nice seeing guys like him acknowledge the team around him. Hes a cool guy. Just watched a video with Root from Slipknot doing the same thing.
Did anyone else notice Black Hole Sun at 6:24
Herb is the man. I recorded at his old studio in Mpls long ago.

😂
“Yeahhh…I don’t.”
Yeah totally
Yeah yeah
I have the Afwayu in an SG, sounds amazing.
Thank you very much!! ❤
Jerry "Uh" Cantrell
Jerry seems like a really humble dude. Besides his guitar prowess, he's a very talented singer-songwriter.
You missed the big clue given when he mentioned how he got the first G&L’s. The brothers he mentions were Dime and Vinnie.
Diamond Lies🤘🤘🤘
Jerry is one of the only guests to reciprocate a “how you doing?” Truly a good dude.
Jerry is the riff/song master. Everything he does is amazing. He can do it all. Massive inspiration to millions of players.
JC is amazing, always has been, always will be!
1:39 Dime and vinnie??!!
Very cool Jerry came out himself to do the rundown BIG cool points for not having his tech do it
Jerry ❤
I've noticed that bands in the 90s especially the grunge era love to put some designs or paintings or whatever on their guitars🎸🎸🎸🎸
I live for that Herb cameo in the Jerry rig rundowns.
