They look like they try to out-humble eachother 😂 everybody's so nice
That's a very Asian thing to do.
@@recoil53 out-humble hahah
@@aamu3 "Let me show you how much better I am at being humble" is definitely an Asian game.
It’s like playing “No, I’ll pay for dinner. I insist.” game at family gatherings.
Asian polite fight 👀😂
The chef is so humble... It was like two so humble people showing off their humbleness... 😅😅
so if they were showing off their humbleness that wouldn’t be humble would it
How ironic
That's the beauty of irony... 😅😅
Lol there's a fictional vlog series from a few years ago where someone is making fun of their sister and her sister's boyfriend for being such nice people and she says something like "it's like they are challenging each other to an agreeable off" and that's what came to mind when I read this comment lol
@@shelbymachado8712 interesting... 🤔🤔
Do you have any link to that..?
Loveeee how humble Rie is in front of her friend🥺🥺🥺 i mean Rie IS ALSO A PROFESSIONAL in my eyes after all she had done on make it fancy😍
Rie is a professional and a chef because she has worked as a line chef.
background music is literally the nokia ringtone and it haunts me when i sleep
I reconized it too!! In the middle of the egg watch; hold on - was that Nokia?
Yes it's Tárrega's Grand Vals
I heard that too!!
omg i thought it was just me im so happy to find this comment
Even i felt that
ATE editor please dont add BG music.... rie's voice and all the kitchen sound is enough
The Nokia ringtone caught me off guard LOL.
I just heard it 😂
Sameeee
that square pan is one of the best things I brought home from my first trip to Japan; still using it to this day. Pro-tip: get a medium-sized one. Because the small, one-person one takes too long to make enough tamagoyaki for breakfast.
the awkwardness because of them being humble is wholesome
5:20 chef said it sounds satisfying
Me: oh yeah, the Nokia tune sounds really satisfying
I am often reminded of " we all need a Rie in our life"
"Alright, show me how you make." Rie is the sweetest and soft spoken, but that phrase in that context would give my home cook self chills!
I'm imagining I'm roommates with Rie and Jihee and how I'd already be a very happy roommate just from their egg dishes alone. 😁
5:20 every indian knows that music to their heart
Nokia LOL 😅
The whole world*
Rie has the perfect mom energy 😭😭😭
Its the restaurant where Andrew visited during Worth It series.
Yes in the picnic episode
I always feel like everything is okay in the world when I watch Rie and hear her voice.
The vibe between these two and this channel overall gives me joy. So, serene, calm and just happy.
Egg rolls are really a very common side dish in Korea. It was a menu that my mother always wrapped as a side dish when I was in school. I was very tired of eating it, but now it's easy for me too, so I make it as a side dish to my kids every day.🤣🤣
5:19 legendary nokia ringtones
Im amazed I know something Rie doesnt......but water is used in omlette when you dont want the eggs to "rise" and become excessively fluffy.
ohh so thats why jihee's eggs were sooo flat. i did wonder
ohhh i always add some water to my scrambled eggs because i saw my mom do that. i didn’t know that’s the effect it had
Jihee has such a lovely voice and laugh.
these two are so sweet omg. GIVE THEM MORE DUO VIDEOS THEY HAVE SUCH GREAT ENERGY TOGETHER
This was so peaceful, like walking through an egg garden ✨
They're both so humble!!
Differences were interesting, I make tamagoyaki at home but put what I call a Texas twist on it placing a layer of finely diced pickled jalapeno on 1st layer, 2nd layer thinly sliced deli ham, 3rd layer cheese and finish off with a 4th make it purdy layer. Oh and I don't add sugar to the beaten eggs just some salt and white pepper.
I miss the south, man. I’m kinda homesick again. Nothing edible makes me quite as happy as southern food.
@@RaeLorin I can understand that, spent many years traveling and so grateful that my grandma had the good sense to make sure I knew how to cook all the basics and grandpa made sure I knew how to properly smoke a brisket. :) To this day a childhood favorite and treat is Coco Gravy over drop biscuits with thick cut bacon for breakfast.
@@GrumpyOldBastard So…what would I have to do to convince you to send something like that across country? Cause I need that in my life ASAP! (Kidding about sending anything. Kinda. Unless? 😆). No but really that all sounds delicious! Wish I could cook good southern food. Not being able to stand for long periods of time without hanging on to things and risking losing my balance is an issue tho. Damn! I’ll have to consider if the result is worth the risk, which it probably is…maybe lol. Also, just reading the words drop biscuits made my mouth AND eyes water. Did I mention I’m homesick? Man I really need to do something about that, at least with regard to southern food.
Wow, those are both incredibly satisfying to watch!
I love the square pan. I need to get one. Watching the rolling of the eggs is very satisfying. I always enjoy watching Rie cook.
Fun fact: Gyeran means egg in Korean.
That's all I remember from learning Korean lmao
It's either 계란 (gyeran) or 달걀 (dalgyal)
WE LOVE RIE
I always wanted to make them. Thank you Rie😊😊
I love the energy and positive vibes from this video
That was so cool and inspiring, thank you!!!!
Truly amazing Rie
Truly amazing
This was so educational and pleasant. I will be making one version for breakfast this week and the other next week. Thank you for sharing 😊
The video is so clear, I tried this today at home, being a pretty inexperienced cook, and my family loved it
i loved this so much!
This was so wholesome.
LOL that outro.
I remember Jihee. Wasn't she also featured in Worth It picnic food something?
yes she was!! i think a few of the shots with her other dishes were from that video actually, i’m pretty sure you can see steven at one point haha
OMG I love these two.
Omg. What great timing bc I've recently been obsessed with tamagoyaki or any rolled egg dish
5:20 Nokia, is that you?
Love how this was filmed. Awesome stuff A.T.E :)
Loved it! 🥢
They're both so nice and complimentary to each other! Their food looks delicious! =]
Thank you so much universe ❤️😘
That was a fun comparison of similar dishes from different countries. I also liked the hot vs cold comparison. I would imagine the cold version to be very "refreshing". I also wonder what else you might put into that first layer for a fun look and flavor?
I've seen people puting seaweed + cheese. I've tried myself with just cheese and it's tasty😋
3:18 I’m pretty sure that’s the Nokia ringtone
Hey, Thanks for sharing your video.I want to try this
entire video: SATISFYING
It is so rare to see a Japanese person get anxious at someone's superior precision and perfection...
thank you, look easy to cook, i will try one day. hope to get it right
The nori is such a good idea I love them together
Need to taste this!!!
Adding seaweed makes it very aesthetically pleasing. Super cute too.
so perfect. always looking good.😍🇰🇷
They are both so humble 🥺 ❤️ love this channel so much
nokia ringtone at 5:20 tho 🤣🤣
Who dislikes a video with Rie in it? People are weird. Great video as always 💜
I'm a simple guy. I see Rie, I click. I hope next it will be Japanese Sushi Roll vs Korean Sushi Roll. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
fyi the Korean roll is called kimbab! :)
@@jupark7501 yes! I couldn't remember what it's called. Thanks
Great content
Awesome
both rolled eggs look really yummy!
the ending's so funny, heard Adam's voice, haha~
I love Rie, and I think her English accent is soooo cute😍. But each time she says version, it cracks me up cos all I hear is "virgin" and now I can't unhear it.
She has a Japanese accent, not English.
its soooo prettyyyy
Glowing smiles uwu
those layersss
Good people attract other good people
i love jihee 😍😍
Rie is the best!! Hope your feeling good! Since Alix has COVID
Aw she does? Now I'm sad
3:19 sounds like nokia ringtone 😂
You know they spent a lot on a really good camera because everything that moves is out of focus all the time. THAT is ART!!
Unfortunately this is the life that any auto-focusing camera owner has resigned themselves to. I kinda like the way you put it tho. Made me chuckle. Thanks. 😊
@@RaeLorin That's the thing. Adam, Annie, Andrew or another A name camera person is focusing it manually. But they've set up the camera so that if the subject moves a quarter of an inch, it's totally blurry.
I know they think that makes a video look artsy, but it just makes me think I have sudden onset cataracts.
@@eltzrothm1 lmao! Ok, you win favorite comment of the day for me. That last line made me laugh so hard suddenly that I lost my voice. Also, great explanation. Thank you!
Nokia Tune at 5:19
For anyone curious it's from Gran Vals bt Tárrega
I'm not a huge fan of eggs but those rolled nori eggs look great
Rie, my parents volunteer at a local food bank. I am sure that there are many UA-cam viewers who have to use a local food bank. Could you work with your local food bank to create meals from the ingredients available at a food bank?
I feel like I need measurements for a one-person size of Jihee's version.
That reminds me of Datemaki for Osechi
5:21 Nokia ringtone?
5:20 huh the background music is like the extended version of the nokia ringtone? (gran vals by francisco tarrega)
That technique are simple in fact make tamagoyaki are not seem look like 😂 but rie with chopstick make it look more advance 😂
the realization i had at 5:20 pfftt
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh
Posting an egg video on a Saturday morning. Well played...
OMG, I don't have the equipment but I have the stuff... making hot mess Asian inspired egg roll for lunch tomorrow.
i like eggs
5:20 music sounds familiar
The Nokia ringtone was so nostalgic
RIP to everyone who still has a Nokia
make it fancy vs make it round
I saw "rolled egg" and immediately thought of tamagoyaki
I love how the chef use grams as measurement
Sarcasm?
@@RaeLorin why would it be sarcasm? Precision is important in some things
@@MazTheMeh16 true. Just thought you might be sassing her, even just in a light-hearted way. Glad to see that that wasn’t the case. Thanks for the reply!
@@RaeLorin not sarcasm...I like how the recipe used metric measurement, bcz I'm having difficulties to convert from pound or fahrenheit etc...
5:20 Nokia ringtone...???
It's sounds like old Nokia ringtone
5:20
Two Recipes with proper social distancing, cool 👌.
I love you Rie!
@@alonzo_go weird
@@MazTheMeh16 lol also hello again! 👋
Its like Rie talking to another Rie !!!
I thought I was hearing things at 5:20
Now Andrew, please try it
Jihee and Rie looks like sistersss
Trying to figure out what kind of spatula she is using. It's so wide!
When I bought my tamagoyaki pan it came with a spatula like that. Maybe look it up as a tamagoyaki spatula?
Oooooo yeah! I am fifth. And I am a fan sooo when I saw A.T.E I click it
HP PFP!!!! *clears throat* sorry, had to get that outta my system. 😊 🪄
