    Your video showing how to solder a guard on a blade is outstanding. I've watched many videos showing various soldering techniques but none compare to the result you achieve. I would give you a 10+ star rating on your video and technique. Keep up the good work!!!

    I've soldered a few guards, but none with this result, nice work brother keep it up I have a lot to learn and hope to get this result after seeing this video, much love and respect for sharing this, its important for up and comers to learn the right way to do things, and your knowledge is priceless to the knife making community, I'm also going to buy the Bob Loveless book that you mentioned, wasn't even aware there was one, thanks again take care.

    Thanks for this vid! I'm a hobbyist knifemaker, not a pro, but I'm absolutely going to adopt this technique.

    Love that T-shirt brother....I was just listening to L.F.A.T.B this morning....I think I still have the CD from there first album. I like that sound better than the new Rancid album for sure,not that it's horrible but I just like the bastards first album better than the new Rancid stuff. Anyway---I love your fighters and hope to own one one day. I am also interested in making knives...all I have at this point is a drill press and shop tools with a coal forge out back. It's cool to see a maker that is young like me that likes good tunes. Keep up the good work. Peace.

    every time i try this the solder never goes into the slot it just melts and plops down on the ground or falls off as soon as it cools

      Sounds like you're either over heating the joint, you're not using the flux or your joint isn't clean... look at these issues and see if it helps. Good luck!

    next time someone asks why a Vehement knife costs $300, show them this video. HAND MADE!!!!

    • @VehementKnives
      @VehementKnives  9 років тому

      +Josh Huwa That has been the point of some of these videos! Just trying to show people what actually goes into their knives!

      @boneheaded9751 9 років тому +1

      +Josh Huwa I'm new to knife making, and just attempted this method on a knife...not easy. Need more practice, and some of that liquid flux. Cleaning up the solder is even more tedious.

    How do you keep a blade from being scratched during clean up?

    • @VehementKnives
      @VehementKnives  6 років тому

      John Langrehr at the risk of sounding blunt, just don't scratch the blade. It's a matter of being careful. I suppose you could tape it, but it isn't neccessary in my experience.

    Back when I was young we would clamp rings in the hogs nose to keep them from rutting up the field. But you???? Why ?
