Almost ALL have been incredible!! (We just tried fried bread with garlic sauce in Latvia and can't get over it.)
Wau guys, beautiful video.Thank you for such a great presentation of Serbia.Yes bread is one of my favorite things and i miss it so much, because i don't live in Serbia anymore.I am really glad that you had fun.😊
Our food is the best food 😋 love this video! But I definitely recommend trying Burek (with meat) and yogurt but make sure the yogurt is a thicker consistency.. not the watery kind. Maybe on your next trip y’all can check out Bosnia 😄
Man, 'Bucko' pizza is for hangovers... and you should try burek at "Trpković' bakery. Also, if you're in to roast pork or lamb, restaurant 'Kod deda Stavre' is a must.
I am watching and I can not believe that you've missed the best places in Belgrade. It looks like you really liked all what you had there, so multiply that by 10, cos that is what the real deal would be if you would know exactly whre to go. But, hey, thumbs up!
Legend says that when "ancient" people of Belgrade back then in 90's first time ever tried Bucko's pizza, they were so overwhelmed how crappy it tasted that they beg the chef to put some salad dressing on it so they can just finish a slice. But it was close to pubs and worked 24/7 so drunken youth of Belgrade embraced the Bucko's pizza with beef or chicken salad topping as part of basic survival kit for getting from pubs to Republic Square where one could eat some proper street food and from where all the night buses departed. So the legend was born. 😆Now it is a must visit landmark for UA-camrs. Nice video. Greetings from Belgrade.
I don't know where in Australia you live in but there is a Serbian kafana in Adelaide called Kafana Kitchen & Bar and food is delicious, you can eat great ćevapi there 😀
Yes i live in Austria and because Serbia is an mainly Agriculture land the Food and in comunist days party is the only Things sshared by everybody. At thus time usual things we're not to get at markets. Everybody dependent of black market. So the solidarity between zur people was needed. (No coffee, no washing powder, no toilet paper, no Jeans no sportsshoes....on and on ) Therefore if somebodys neighbour of your Cousins friends Brother has what you been looking for, you directly get connected. If somebody puts an interest in between nobody could afford a pair of example Jeans anymore. Thats Why this people hold toghether like this. Have fun and visit Serbia there is lot of food to discover you never heard from. Cheers
Oh yeah the cevapcici is the best food I ever eat, live in Italy for sure the best kitchen, but Serbian tradicional kitchen doesn't joke. You have to try lamb "ispod saca",it is paradisiac
im glad you enjoyed the food! balkan cuisine is truly some of the best in the world. just a note since i can see you're trying your best to say things correctly (which is greatly appreciated!), cevapi is plural so you'd say "the cevapi are" not "the cevapi is", a singular meat finger is called a cevap
Im a Ex-Yugoslav living in New Zealand, the food i miss the most is Cevapi, pljeskavica , and Kajmak, no Balkan restaurant's where i live, and i tried to make it in my home kitchen but its not the same as authentic Serbian Food
@@JordanandEmily oh boy do i miss it, hope you come to New Zealand one day though and try the Maori Boil Up and Hangi, Boil up is sorta like an indegenous stew and a Hangi is meat and potatos and sweet potatos cooked underground in an earth oven
@@JordanandEmily In Sarajevo, try cevabdzinica "Besko" adress: Azize Sacirbegovic 50 (behind shopping mall "Robot commerce" in Hrasno settlement). Cevapi in "Bascarsia" (most visited tourist location) are not as good as they used to be 10+ years ago, they have become commercialized, they only care about profit, not quality! I say this as a native of Sarajevo, you can believe me or not, but that's how it is. The second location is cevabdzinica "Zmaj" at the railway station, they are not bad, but in "Besko" they are better, also in "Besko" all other dishes from grill are excellent! Try chicken liver, chicken fillets, and "sudzukice".
Serbian food is sooo underrated! Only problem is that us foreigners here with no Serbian metabolism gain weight 😅 What was the cevapi restaurant you went to? That salad dressing pizza has really become a thing on UA-cam but I’ve actually never heard any Belgradian to talk about it and I’ve been here for 4,5 years. I guess I have to try it.
Hahaha you are certainly right about the metabolism. The longer we were in Belgrade the more unhealthy our choices became! It's worth a try to see what the hype is about, might find something you love, might not ever go back! 😂
I am half serbian, my father is from Novi sad. My grandmother makes burek with mushroom. What you are actually eating is a dish that is called gibanića. This is the proper name. Also it’s Ćevapčići! I am glad you enjoyed your stay in our country!
The Ottoman heritage mostly, present in other regions and countries in the Balkan. The kaymak, kebab (or ćevap), burek, yogurt. Serbia has many wonderful dishes, as many others already mentioned. And Belgrade has many small and authentic places that serve local food. It needs more than just an episode to visit all.

Ayy, burek with meat is (for me at least) much better. Since you're two, you could've go 1 and 1 :D. You didn't cross out ajvar, but it's go to condiment with čevapi, so you missed out if you didn't try it. And ye, we Balkan ppl love our čevapi, whole of ex-Yugoslavia pretty much...and some countries around heh. And pls, that wasn't a hot dog, twas a sausage in a bun! All in all, enjoyable vid, altho u missed some iconic things (sarma and vešalica/vratovina come to mind). Cheers from Slovenia o/
Thank you! We are already excited to head back there and try all the things we missed! It's interesting how the names of things change accross the borders! Really not sure what we have and haven't tried 😅
In fact, Romanian recipes are known to be very tasty, they are traditional, made from organic products, bio, grown on the farm, etc., and I'm not talking about recipes just the normal food taste is like gold. In my opinion, the Romanian cuisine is better then others, because of the autentic food taste, try the cozonac, the micii, the boeuf salad, the cakes, the pies, the sarmales, the sour cream with mamaliga, .jams are verry strong in taste, pickles in a jar, murăturile, zacusca, eggplant salad, fish roe salad, etc. Is like african banana that s how romanian products taste, in comparation with the european banana. Imagine the chickens eats healthy, the cows, and the products are made in their gardens with no chimicals on them. As a romanian i say it.
We did our own little food tour in soghisoara in Romania and loved what we tried, but it's clear we missed a lot 😄 definitely need to head back to Romania 🇷🇴
After all these comments - we're really not sure what 'Burek' even is! 😅
Burek is a type of pastry! With meat or cheese or without anything in it.... It is made with lot of pig fat, flour, salt and water!
Burek is a feirly greasee but without any additives and the taste and the crunchness is fenomenal!
IS the same like a BANICA :D
Balkan burek and turkish burek are really different, at least for me. Balkan burek is jusier and crispier and it has better cheese inside. Ayran and Jogurt are also different, ayran is very salty. For me best serbian Joghurt is balans and dukat

Oh and I forgot to say my main point! I’m so happy you’ve found a joy of culinary traveling! I think food itself is a reason to travel! All those local & authentic tastes, yes yes yes! Btw, we fell in love with Belgrade so bad that we stopped our nomadlife to stay here. Have a great world tour! ❤
us too! we used to watch people on UA-cam do food tours and didn't have too much interest, but as soon as we did one we were absolutely hooked and now wont leave a country without at least trying a few of the local foods. Almost ALL have been incredible!! (We just tried fried bread with garlic sauce in Latvia and can't get over it.)
Hvala puno 🥰😘❤️
Thank you!! 😊
Hi, i am from Serbia i live in Belgrade,
I love how you say "kombasica"="kobasica"😂
we were trying so hard 🤣
I came to see your video from Kyoto, Japan.
SERBIAN FOOD! ?
Thank you for introducing a very rare dish!
Wow!! Hello 👋👋
We sooo hope to come and visit Japan one day 😍😍
woowww, the foods looked amazing. Love the Australian conversions! helps us a lot 😂
Hahaha it was amazing! Highly recommend!
Поздрав из Србије! ❤
Thank you so much!! ❤
Wau guys, beautiful video.Thank you for such a great presentation of Serbia.Yes bread is one of my favorite things and i miss it so much, because i don't live in Serbia anymore.I am really glad that you had fun.😊
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Our food is the best food 😋 love this video! But I definitely recommend trying Burek (with meat) and yogurt but make sure the yogurt is a thicker consistency.. not the watery kind. Maybe on your next trip y’all can check out Bosnia 😄
We did do Bosnia this time! Got to explore Mostar and Banja Luka and even had some meat Burek 🤤 so good!!
@@JordanandEmily I watched that video right after this one! Love it 😄
No,its not
Good night from Papua New Guinea.
I enjoyed watching your contents.❤❤
Hello!! 👋👋👋 we are glad to hear!
May God bless you.
You have to try Punjena paprika! It's like cabbage rolls but with bell peppers instead of cabbage.
Mmmmm that sounds great! We'll add it to the list!
Beautiful city view and yummy food❤❤
😊
Incredible food, incredible country :) Welcome to Nis btw!
Agreed aaaaaand Agreed! missing the food already 😄
Great video. Belgrade is beautiful.
Completely agree! 😊 thanks for your comment!
Man, 'Bucko' pizza is for hangovers... and you should try burek at "Trpković' bakery. Also, if you're in to roast pork or lamb, restaurant 'Kod deda Stavre' is a must.
If we get back to Belgrade we will be going straight to Trpkovic, we've been waiting for a hreat burek recommendation!
Welcome in Serbia, wish all the best, injoy❤
Thank you! 😊
I am watching and I can not believe that you've missed the best places in Belgrade. It looks like you really liked all what you had there, so multiply that by 10, cos that is what the real deal would be if you would know exactly whre to go. But, hey, thumbs up!
What did we miss!? We loved what we tried but am not sure what the best things are for when we return!
I hope you enjoyed in my town and come back again. Next time you should try sarma, pljeskavica and gibanica.
Thank you! We loved Serbia - hope to come back and try all the new foods we know about! ☺️
Hey guys im an Aussie Serb and both Coles and Woolies sell chevapi! I have some in my fridge :D
Looks like we'll be having some boxing day Cevapi! 😄 thank you!!! 😊
@@JordanandEmily you’re welcome! ❤️
😄 you hit the nail on the head I think! 😄
I don't know where in Australia you live in but there is a Serbian kafana in Adelaide called Kafana Kitchen & Bar and food is delicious, you can eat great ćevapi there 😀
Oooh! We do live in Adelaide 😊 amazing recommendation!!
I miss so much burek with yogurt, and cevapi ❤❤❤🇷🇸😋
Us too!! honestly some of the best food we've had on this entire trip!
Were so proud you like our food because It have a completly different value in Balkan countries. Enjoy
Oh really!? We had no idea! Serbia was our #1 Balkan country for food!
Yes i live in Austria and because Serbia is an mainly Agriculture land the Food and in comunist days party is the only Things sshared by everybody.
At thus time usual things we're not to get at markets. Everybody dependent of black market. So the solidarity between zur people was needed. (No coffee, no washing powder, no toilet paper, no Jeans no sportsshoes....on and on )
Therefore if somebodys neighbour of your Cousins friends Brother has what you been looking for, you directly get connected. If somebody puts an interest in between nobody could afford a pair of example Jeans anymore. Thats Why this people hold toghether like this. Have fun and visit Serbia there is lot of food to discover you never heard from. Cheers
Omg you guys haven’t tried “Sarma”! Once you try that, it changes everything for you!
They tried "Sarmale" în România 😁
We certainly did! and loved it! 😄
Oh yeah the cevapcici is the best food I ever eat, live in Italy for sure the best kitchen, but Serbian tradicional kitchen doesn't joke. You have to try lamb "ispod saca",it is paradisiac
100% agree! Thanks for the recommendation 😊
Greetings from Belgrade
Hello!! 👋👋👋
Next time you guys visit try karadjordjeva snicla ;) You'll not regret it !
Ooohh thanks for the tip!! 😊
"kobasica" should be translated as sausage, not hot dog. Honestly, you have my dream job - eating delicious food for a living, wow ❤
Mmmmm the sausage was amazing. It's a great job but it pays a negative income 😄
Burek with cheese..Bosnians triggered. So its war then.
Hahaha, we recently tried Burek in Bosnia. There is a war coming for sure. 😂
Jbg sad brate
Nisi jos video burek sa jafom
@Binsr burek je sa mesom
Kažeš burek sa sirom ne burek with chese
Cevapi+flat bread+kajmak+onions is a way to go! 😇
so delicious!
im glad you enjoyed the food! balkan cuisine is truly some of the best in the world. just a note since i can see you're trying your best to say things correctly (which is greatly appreciated!), cevapi is plural so you'd say "the cevapi are" not "the cevapi is", a singular meat finger is called a cevap
Ah! Thank you for letting us know! We try so hard 😅
I like her eyes popping after first bite, hilarious 😂😂😂
haha 😂😄
Im a Ex-Yugoslav living in New Zealand, the food i miss the most is Cevapi, pljeskavica , and Kajmak,
no Balkan restaurant's where i live, and i tried to make it in my home kitchen but its not the same as authentic Serbian Food
Can completely understand why you miss the food, it is AMAZING!
We still think about the Cevapi 😂🤤
@@JordanandEmily oh boy do i miss it, hope you come to New Zealand one day though and try the Maori Boil Up and Hangi, Boil up is sorta like an indegenous stew and a Hangi is meat and potatos and sweet potatos cooked underground in an earth oven
ı was there last week and ıt was the beautiful 4 days of my life
Such a cool coty!
@@JordanandEmily yeah . Probably I’m gonna move there from Turkey 🇹🇷🤟🏼
I'm actually from Serbia and i love to live here
We would too!
@@JordanandEmily 👌
Hellou From Belgrade the food Is beaytiful
👋👋👋
You need to come in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), to try burek and cevapcici, if u already not.
We really do. We had cevapi in Mostar and it was a little dissapointing but we've heard Sarajevo has some great places!
Only problem is that us foreigners here with no Serbian metabolism gain weight 😅
What was the cevapi restaurant you went to? That salad dressing pizza has really become a thing on UA-cam but I’ve actually never heard any Belgradian to talk about it and I’ve been here for 4,5 years. I guess I have to try it.
Hahaha you are certainly right about the metabolism. The longer we were in Belgrade the more unhealthy our choices became! It's worth a try to see what the hype is about, might find something you love, might not ever go back! 😂
@@JordanandEmily haha, I so know! I think I’ll do some diet when we’ll get out of here, but Belgrade is certainly a very hard place to leave!
Burek, ajvar, kajmak, sarma.... I još mnogo toga treba probati😋. Pozdrav iz Srbije! 😘
Delicious! 😋
Lovely adventure in Belgrade with Serbian food.
Thank you! 😊 Such great food!
Hi there. For next time in Serbia u need to try a most famous food. Sarma and Karađorđeva šnicla. That is best food ever
Amazing! Thank you for the recommendations ☺️
Karađorđeva nije šnicla, ne blamiraj se
Black Forest Bakery on Grange road has burek when you come back. Also Serbian chevapi in CBD Kafana
Amazing!! Thank you for the recommendations! ☺️
PURE 10 FOR THIS VIDEO.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Completely agree! We have such an awesome list now thanks to all the recommendations - hopefully one day we can come back and try them all!
@@VladimirTrajanovski kebab i cevap nije isto
idk if u did but u NEED to try our serbian ice cream it is one of the best things we have here
oh what! We hadn't even heard - definitely adding this to the list for when we come back!
the food you tried is more fast food. In case you visit Serbia again, you must try some authentic Serbian dishes. Greetings!
😃
We really hope to visit again and get outside the cities to find some REAL authentic Serbian food. We are building a list of things to eat from all these comments 😄
You can get burek in Woolworths. Freezer section $8. Also you need an oven
How have we never seen it before! We are adding this to our daily diet 😄 hope woolies is as good as the real stuff!
@@JordanandEmily the Woolworths stuff has enough cheese for most people's taste. I don't think they do meat or apple burek
@@JordanandEmily ok just got one from Woolies ($8.80 now ). Instructions say cook for 40 mins . I cook it for 30 mins coz I don't like it too crispy. Hope this helps!
do you think the food is worth the money you paid? or do you think it should be cheaper? im glad you visited places you did in Belgrade and not some "trashier" food places enjoy your stay
We thought the price was fair across the board! not sure if we got a good or bad price relative to the standard pricing in Serbia but we were happy!
@@JordanandEmily more or less you got a good price, because everything is increasing in price these days, you should also try Karadjordjeva snicla if you are still in Serbia
You should visit Novi Sad . 35 min train .
Damn! we missed this ☹
In fact, Romanian recipes are known to be very tasty, they are traditional, made from organic products, bio, grown on the farm, etc., and I'm not talking about recipes just the normal food taste is like gold.
