You even said "fala" instead of "hvala", you are adapting quickly! 😜
Also, be ready for the comments, becauce youve made a mistake of getting that paprika sauce on pizza from Bucko, the beef one is the best, people know that and they LOVE to tell that to everyone. 😅
It took a while for us to get it down 😅
@@MaxandSidney No offense but did you just eat fast food while you were in Serbia? If you did, then you missed out on a lot of good food. Also,on pljeskavica...only acceptable addition is kajmak and nothing else. Also also....Belgrade is not the only city in Serbia, you know
Добро дошли у мајку Србију! Наш дом је ваш дом. Уживајте у нашој земљи и храни и свему.
Da se nosis i ti i oni.
Thank you so much! We are very excited to be here! 🇷🇸❤️
@@user-lf2jh2ru9f mozes i ti da se teras i tri lepe picke materine
Hot burek and cold jogurt the best
It was SO good!!
Instead of going for the fast food only, try the slow food. Mučkalica, goulash, paprikaš, different soups like čorba, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls, oven baked beans (prebranac), bean soup (čorbast pasulj), fish soup, cabbage stew etc.
And last, the letter c is pronounced like zz in pizza, so Bucko is pronounced Butsko. J is like y in you.
We really wished we had more time to try the more traditional foods. That all sounds amazing! We will definitely have to return to Serbia to enjoy all of the slow cooking 😊
Uzivajte u Srbiji 🇷🇸
Hvala vam 🇷🇸❤️
Dobro nam dosli, uzivajte 🤗❤️
Thank you for your hospitality 🇷🇸❤️😊
I grew up on burek and yogurt😍I’ve grow a lot🤣Love it👏🫶
Amazing 😂👏 we absolutely loved it!
Even though your Chanel is still small. I love it! If you want come to Macedonia! I am right now in the capital city Skopje! I can be your guide! Lots of love from Macedonia 🇲🇰
Thank you for watching! We would absolutely love to visit Skopje, one place in Europe we still have not seen! 🇲🇰😊
Some things you have to try, to understand Serbian cuisine, like things we grew up with and things we eat every day, in my opinion are veal soup, army beans (pasulj), sarma and some type of slow cooked beef dish like oxtail or goulash or shank in kaymak.
That all sounds amazing! We definitely want to try more Serbian cuisine now that we’ve had a taste!
@@MaxandSidney I would recommend restaurants like Durmitor, Pod Lozom and Mićina Domaća Kuhinja for great authentic Serbian cuisine. Also a great restaurant with more modern take on it is Iva New Balkan Cuisine.
You should try Sarma, it is our best winter meal, it is minsed meat (beff and pork) with rise and spices, wraped in sour cabage leaves, cooked in low heat, for couple of hours.. We usualy eat it in winter, but you can find it in restourants always, even in summer. Very delicious! 👌👌👍👍
That sounds incredible! We definitely have so much we still have to try, just got a small taste!
You should try "teletina ispod sača". It's veal prepared on coals under a metal shield to create a medieval oven. I don't know Belgrade restaurants, but I'm sure someone can suggest a place.
Wow, that sounds fantastic! We’ll definitely look into it, thanks for the tip 😊
@@MaxandSidneygo to restoran Durmitor at new Belgrade..try "teletina ispod saca"
Pizza at Bucko is traditionally topped with beef or chicken sauce 😁
That sounds pretty good, we missed out!!
If you can find in Belgrade a dish called "komplet lepinja". It was recently voted one of the best breakfasts in the world, so a recommendation 😊
Wow that sounds so intriguing! We will definitely look into it 👍
@@MaxandSidney It's basically eggs and kajmak (the cream you had on pljeskavica) in lepinja (type of bread). But it IS very tasty. Thank you for trying your best to understand everything you're seeing and tasting - it's not an easy task :) Welcome to Serbia and I hope you enjoyed it! In terms of restaurants that are definitely good, almost all in Skadarlija, then outside of Skadarlija there is Stara Kafana, Kovach, Lovac, Kafanica Pod Lozom to name just a few. I'm only listing some of the ones I personally tried and liked best. Of course, I live in Belgrade. :) All of these are easy to find on Google and not a single one is in the same part of the city.
تستحق الزياره وتجربة الطعام في ارجائها
Enjoy bro
Thank you!!
My personal favorite burek in Belgrade is Ljupče. He is a macedonian guy, and they are known for making best bureks in Balkan.
Dalmatinska 14?
@@yudzin88 yup
too greasy, and I like greasy burek.
We will have to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MaxandSidney Trpkovic bakery owners is actualy also from Macedonia .
A lot of interesting food. Did you have any desserts in Belgrade? I'm a sucker for sweets 🤤
It was a mostly savory food experience in Serbia 😆 but we did have some very good baklava! Really anywhere in the Balkans has amazing baklava, not just Greece and Türkiye 😁
@@MaxandSidney Try krempita.
The best place for burek in Serbia is your nearest bakery... bakery in your neborhood. If it is Trpkovic, for example, then lucky you. If not, every burek will be just fine for breaskfast as long as it is fresh and hot. Nobody will start his car and drive half an hour to by a burek.
That definitely makes sense! I’m sure there are great burek spots in every neighborhood!
Love Serbia ❤❤
this is the first video i watched from you guys, i see you've tried šljivovica (plum brandy) but the best is viljamovka (williams pear brandy) you've got to try that if you haven't before
Try veal corba, fried cheese, Karadjordjeva snitzla, veal or pork medallions in mushroom sauce, sopa or tarator salad and some dessert with walnuts and/or slaw or some cream
Sounds AMAZING! We’ll definitely add to the list 👍
new video hell yah!
Woohoo!! 🎉🇷🇸
In central Serbia we also have , what you mention that you taste in Bulgaria ( Banica ), and we called Gibanica😁
Difference between Banica or Gibanica and Burek, is in pasta or Testo in Serbian....
Domestic Banica or Gibanica is made from hand made pasta ( you spread pasta over table in one large peace , and put cheese and you roll that 🌀
For Burek , you put layers of pasta , like lasagna 😁
Okay, interesting! We were curious what the differentiating features were!
Great video
Thank you!! We appreciate you watching!
Thank you!
I have been saying this for ages now to all foreigners, you must have yogurt with burek. It does wonders with the flavor and also it makes it easier for you to diggest and kinda helps with the fat, to dissolve it a bit.. But people have a taste of yogurt on its own, ohh we dont like it and just eat the burek..
Its like having a meaty lunch without the salad and rakija first.. Man.. And after a few days OMG i gained weight OMG you eat too much meat and cheese and fat foods that is not healthy..
Eat the entire meal in steps, like it should be done. Hundreds of years of experience have crafted it that way and every little step has its purpose.
So glad we got the yogurt! It absolutely added to the experience!
My god :/ Bucko's toppings are biff and chicken salats, paprika and others are there just for show, that's a must for some other time, trust me :))
U guys are great truly, such a cool video
Thanks so much for watching! Sounds like we really missed out with the chicken or beef salad topping, several people have mentioned it 😫 oh well, we will have to try it next time!
Yummm, that borek looked delicious! 😍
Our personal favourite was at Byrektore Kaci is Sarande, Albania! But you can almost never go wrong with it right? 🙌
That is true, don’t think we’ve ever had a bad one!! Would love to try your favorite spot in Albania some day! 😋
Nice bro
Thanks for watching!
as for the cheese in the burek...in the burek goes cheese of poorer quality, cheaper, with less milk fat. Now imagine what kind of cheese we consider to be high-quality? That's the kind of cheese we use at home.
The ultimate burek worship video 🛐
Great 👍
Thanks for watching! 👍
2nd Usče tower still u/c. 2019 spotted!
Serbia has been known for Šljivovica brandy since medieval times. The plum plant used to make brandy has been planted since ancient times. It's just a little stronger than standard Western drinks. E.g. Whiskey has 38% alcohol, while Brandy has between 50 and 54% alcohol!
The rakija was much stronger than what we are used to 😂 but it was a good flavor! We will definitely have to try some Šljivovica!
One tip for drinking yogurt, make one hole from where you will drink and on other side air to enter
Ahh, that makes more sense! Thanks for the tip 😊
Few more places where you can eat the best burek in Blegrade are pekara Rankovic (also they have very good bbq, in Krusevacka street and the other one is in Maksima Gorkog street and the other pekara also in Maksima Gorkog street accross Kalenic open market) , pekara Kircanski, pekara Crvena Zvezda (but I heard that the owner, the old man, passed away, do not know is it true) and pekara Alek at Dorcol (but I haven't been there recently).
Rankovic also have the best wanuts strudel. I recommend.
Also you MUST visit pekara Aca. pastry and sweets. It's in the city center, Svetogorska street.
Wow, so many great suggestions! Thank you!
You should come to Pancevo and try burek from Stankoski burek. My recommendation is Burek kolenica, also there is with chicken. This 2 you have to try.
Thanks so much for the suggestion! 👍
Trpković and Ranković the best burek in Belgrade. And beef salad in Bucko... 👌
Thanks for the suggestions 👍
Looks amazing
Everything was so tasty!!
sir i dobra svin mast recept za naj burek svaka zamena burk ima ukus na sve sem na burek..
Ahh that’s the secret!! Makes sense, it’s so buttery and delicious 😋
Meine Oma, geboren in Belgrad, hat auch so gekocht/gebacken! Bestes Essen auf der Welt 😊
You must visit restoran "Pod Lozom 78" in Zemun. The best traditional food
Meine Oma wurde in Zemun geboren. 1922!
Bestes Essen der Welt!
good luck
In Turkey, Ayran is yoghurt with added water and salt. Ayran in Central Asia is sweetened, not salted.
Oh interesting! We were definitely surprised by how different the taste was from ayran
I love Ayran only the tuerkish way 😊
Great video👍 welcome😊
Serbian burek is the best of course 😎
Thank you so much for watching! Absolutely LOVED the burek 😋
You've made a HUGE mistake! At Bucko pizza is eaten exclusively and only with beef salad on top. Sometimes with chicken salad, but absolutely no other.
Oh no!! That sounds really good we’ll have to try it next time 😆
Since you asked about best burek, let me answer. I appreciate Serbian food a lot, but for a lovely burek experience, you should travel to THE capitol, the tzargrad, or call some call it Istanbul, and then go to Sarıyer district near Black sea.
Ahh, interesting! We definitely want to go to Istanbul some day 😁
@@MaxandSidney strongly suggest that. All the Balkans share a unique culture, you can especially feel it on food. Because for hundreds or lets say thousands of years, people of Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece and Turkey lived together. Now they all stress on differences, but in essence they are very simillar people on culture. They have diferrent languages or religions but their body language is similar. You will find out why when you come to İstanbul. Because its in the center of events.
@@niyazibasturk5374 The occupation from the ottoman empire in the Balkans is for you living together? thats what erdogan teach you in the school? do they teach you about how the turks made genocide on the balkans?
How do you know if they planted a bad brandy (rakiju) on you? when you exhale, you should feel it in your stomach and not in your throat.Rakija is drunk all at once :) Živeli
Ahh, that’s a good tip to know! Definitely have to try more rakija to compare them!
❤
👋👋👋🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
🇷🇸❤️😄
❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
You should also check Novi Sad defenetly ✌🏻
Can't visit Novi Sad without trying their iconic Index sandwiches.
Definitely would love to visit Novi Sad!
Should've try beef salad, instead of cheese/paprika, on that pizza.
Shoot! We’ll have to try that next time!
one thing about burek, even in same street if you have two bakeries, burek wont be the same. tree things define the final product, 1. the "pekar" baker who make dough and burek, 2. the cheese its self is almost never from the same cheese manufacturer and 3. how much you are hungry!
That is so awesome! Can’t imagine how many great options there are for burek around the city!
There's burek, pita and gibanica. They're all different.
For me the hardest question is shall I take meat burek or cheese
We really enjoyed the cheese, but now that everyone’s mentioned it, we definitely want to try the meat one too!
جيد
Bosnian burek is the best.
"Bucko" means "Chubby" 😀
Love it 😂
This video is at least 5 years old.

@@MaxandSidney how on earth could those towers still be under construction, when they were built 5 years ago?
You go ti Nish for best burek...
واو
I do not understand why people always recommend this food, when it's not that special, there is much better food in Serbia. Example: vurda, mućkalica, komplet lepinja, čvarci i duvan-ćvarci, sremski kulen, dimljeni juneči jezik, slanina od mangulice (sapunjara), podolski gulaš, bećar paprikaš, opanak (roštilj), karađorđeva, aromatizovani krompir, krompir salata, pljeskavica od koprive, faširane šnicle, peglana kobasica, Pirotski kačkavalj, štrudla sa makom, knedle sa šljivom (or other filling), kavurma, jagnjetina ispod sača, punjene suve paprike (šilje), dimljena ovčija ruža sa začinima, šljiva u čokoladi, magareći sir, koziji sir sa začinima, etc.
So many suggestions, thank you!! We will definitely add it all to the list!
Enjoy non GMO and healthy food from Serbia...
Niš
If you want to eat real good and taste real Serbian food go to Nis.
Sounds like we will have to add Nis to the list!
Best burek ( burek mean with meet ) is in Bosnia. And cevapi. This is Bosnian food. Best pleskavica is in Serbia.
Who cares about Bosnia? Its about Serbia , so go to your muhadschedin website
We tried cevapi in Bosnia, it was awesome!
RANKOVIC is the best burek, but with meat, not cheese. The real burek is with meat, with cheese is a pie.
The right pronunciation of "BUCKO" is "BOOTZKO" buddy.
That is a very tough one for a non-Serbian speaker 😂
Burek is with meat
please take off hat when you are at the table thank you !
As a Serb from Bosnia I got to admit in Bosnia the Burek is generally better than in Serbia. Especially down in Sarajevo. The more traditional Burek which is in cirkel(Motani) In Serbia they put more filling which I think is good as well but to heavy. But Serbia is better in meats, grill etc. Bosnia has good traditional food.
Pa ima istine ali ima mesta u Srbiji gde burek ubija koliko je dobar...
@@vladimirdjordjevic6771 Naravno da ima.
A koga boli k sta je u bosni ?
@@oo-pt9cx Ocigledno tebe
best bureks were made by ethnics Albanians in EX YU. Also the real Burek are only found in Bosnia. in Belgrade burek iz good but pizza is no doubt the worst one comparing ex you states
You drink bad rakija, good rakija is never served cold. Try real food but must go in Nis or Pirot for that. Just ask for special. Food in Belgrade is overpriced and undertasted 😊😊😊
01:42 ACTUALLY. Burek IS NOT serbian national dish, Burek is bosnian/turkish dish. GI-BANICA is serbian national dish. It is BUREK - fat(oil) + egs.
In Bulgaria, Burek=BANICA.
In Serbia, Burek - fat + egs = GI-BANICA, GIBANICA
Also ĆEVAPI(T+JEVAPEE) are not serbian national dish, it is bosnian/turkish dish.
Name was derivated from arab or persian word KEBAB.
Arab world, Turkey = KEBAB(but KEBAB is something different in Turkey and arab world)
Bulgaria = KEBAP
Macedonia = KEVAP
Serbiam Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia = Ć(T+J)EVAP, ĆEVAP.
ĆEVAP-I=two or more ĆEVAP.
Serbian cuisine is a mix of: balcan, turkish, german and hungarian cuisine.
If u want to eat SERBIAN NATIONAL DISHES- CUISINE.
1. SARMA(popular in other former yugoslav republics, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, but serbian version is not the same)
2. PLJESKAVICA
3. KARAĐORĐEVA ŠNICLA(KARAD+JORDJEVA S+HNIT+ZLA, it means BLACK GEORGE STEAK)
4. GIBANICA
5. SVADBARSKI KUPUS(WEDDING CABAGE)
6. PIHTIJE(dish is not 100% serbian, u can find it in russian cuisine, mongolian cuisine, turkish cuisine,...) but with pork meat, it is serbian version
Very popular dishes, accepted from neigborough countries
1. GULASH, hungarian dish
2. ĆEVAPI, Bosnia
3. BUREK, Bosnia
4. SATARAŽ, i do not know from which country it is, Turkey or Hungary
5. URMAŠICE, Bosnia
6. BAKLAVE, Bosnia/Turkey
...
actually "bosnians" are just serbs that accepted islam as their faith so even if u want your little theory that burek is bosnian...and you cant bring burek ALL THE WAY from Turkey to Bosnia without it going through SERBIA first...ACTUALLY LET ME CORRECT MYSELF AT THAT TIME TODAYS MACEDONIA WAS PART OF SERBIA AND THATS WHY TO THIS DAY THE BEST BUREK YOU CAN FIND IS IN MACEDONIAN BAKERIES ALL AROUND SERBIA
@@13bh12 ok
@@hypatiatv421 you are welcome...and dont misinform people if you dont know the actual truth
@@13bh12 Comrade. My words ARE TRUTH, your words are also truth on some way and this is a reason of my OK, not admitation that i speak lies. BUREK is NOT serbian national dish, burek is basically bosnian/turkish dish. GIBANICA IS serbian national dish. End.
The thing is Balkans is just a small region on the crossroads. It is expected that you have a mix of other influences. Balkan states are not isolated islands, they are not so unique and special like they think they are when it comes to their cuisine.
Nice one, but burek is bosnian food. and cevapi.
Yes everything is yours 😂 you are the victim nation of the century
Burek came from a Turkish baker in Nis, and cevapi came from Leskovac.
go to Leskovac city of grill and paprika. dont eat our grill meat without bread, its odd. just ask there for whatever. u will see. its not even a joke. but go for Dzigerica,Leskovacka muckalica, gravce na tavce or just normal mixed grill meat for 2 persons. its gonna be awesome anyways.
