There is absolutely no cheese or tomato in the sarma. Burek is not poured with yogurt, but is taken after each bite. Karađorđe steak can be much better. Bravo for the courage to try pihtje. :) Serbian food is the best in the world.
Great choices. Most Serbian food will be either tasty or not based on the quality of the ingredients. I love pork jello- pihtije when made of quality pork. It is also made with beef. Best jelly you get from boiling down "sweet" bones that have a lot of collagen. Some people use old discarded shin and old meat and of course you don't get tasty product at the end. Cheers
There is misconception about salads in Serbia if you come from the west. In the West you typically eat salad first to fill your belly so you dont over eat the main course. In serbia its quite the opposite, salads are always meant to go in parallel with the main course, to keep you going and help you overcome massive amounts of food. Like a nice fresh tomato based salads you may order with grilled meat that add some fresh garden flavors to every bite and then you just cant stop eating. Also in this case with the chili pepper in garlic, its incredibly spicy, you should only take tiny bits with every mouthful of sarma just to give it another dimension. This is where surplus happiness from Slavoj Zizek originally comes from.
Glad you liked the food but most of them are not pure serbian food its mixed with bosnian :P was hoping to see you try baklava for the last btw we nevet put chees in sarma :D thets a big nono
Pa pazi da nije, oni sve to doneli iz Azije. It to bas tako su jeli. Pokupili su sve od naroda na koje su nailazili pa cak i nacin oblacenja. Dovodili su ljude iz svih krajeva da ih uce kuvanju.

Pihtije is very, very nice. Pecenje must be favorite but it is eaten with salad, vegetables and mesh potato, I believe.
@@Ana-bw7gmany potato is nice, but bakers potato is the best with roast meat. I think I gotta make moussaka now, all this talk is making me hungry.
My grandmother makes this many times. My favorite dish
Nice choice. Hope you enjoyed

You should ask locals for recommendations, and to teach you how to pronounce the local names.
