Been using this stuff for about two years now and I gotta say, I love it! It does seem to have a problem with spurge though. Have been fighting spurge in a few of my yards and it just keeps coming back. Damn spurge just won't stay dead!
Great video! I'd like to thank you for filming the video and showing the results. I hate watching other creators videos where they say they will film a results update in a few weeks. I either forget to watch, or they never post it. I applaud you sir!
I like the no nonsense approach i have been a landscaper for 12 years here in Va. Thanks to you I’m able to understand all the warm season grass info you put out and try it out thanks so much !
I mowed today after a long awaited rain, dormant Bermuda everywhere in my lawn, bare areas and Next to concrete. Super hot weather and no rain has made me question my low cut height.
We've used Celsius Xtra for two seasons now in a broadcast spreader. We also mixed Prodiamine in the tank. Celsius was very effective in getting rid of all weeds initially. The one way that came back with a vengeance was doveweed. We just sprayed again and can update later but last year when we applied Celsius alone in the summer on the dove Wade it was all gone within a couple of weeks allowing our grass to fill in.
What happens to the many small seeds on the spurge after the parent plant is killed? Does a new crop of spurge grow back there or does the herbicide Thales care of them also? Thanks for your informative videos. C RheaMD
@@lawncarelife I’m always concerned. Especially the St Augustine. I’ve always been intrigued with weed control but somewhat hesitant to go after it. I had such a problem last summer with chamber bitter that I decided to try not to have such a problem this year. My pre emergent apps worked extremely well on the crabgrass and most everything else. I have in the past couple of weeks had some chamber bitter start to rear it’s ugly face. I put down an app of change up and metsulfuron (for a little Bahia) and have had very good results so far! Now for the sedges and kilinga!
I combine Spectracide Weed Stop and Sedge Ender with Dawn and spray that. Works on a wide variety of stuff including nutsedge. Seems to work well. Sometimes the nutsedge dies with one spraying and sometimes 2, but over time it does it in.
I use celcius wg mixed with Ambition. And mn its excellent results on spot treating weeds. The ambition help knock out bahia grass and also some dalis grass gets burned really good too but temp is 85 to stop spraying thats the down fall. Where sedge hammer doesn’t have a temp restriction, but ive found more sedges tend to come back in areas treated with sedge hammer multiple seasons in a row. Im located near Birmingham,AL.
The action on the spurge was very impressive. Not sure I'm ready to give up Blindside, though. Comparing those two combo herbicides would be interesting. Thanks for another great video!
I just planted a new Johnathan Green Black-Beauty Ultra lawn after covering the whole yard with tenacity late last fall, unbelievably enough I have a ton of nutsedge that came in with the grass even after using spectracide in February........this shits hard to get rid of😮
I’ve been using it for a couple weeks I haven’t seen the results yet. My yards are mostly st Augustine so I’m exited about the product. Trying to nail down a mixture on 100 gallon tank with agitation.
What’s a good mixture per gallon for broadcast spreading without calibrating? Im homeowner and really don’t care about ROI of the product but also don’t want to nuke the yard.
I’m pretty impressed I need to pick some up. I sprayed driveXLR8 a week and half ago early AM and it still discolored all over my lawn :( any idea how long that discoloration will last
Couple questions. Bermuda lawn in north central texas. Lawn is full of broadleaf and grassy weeds. Soil test has been done and I’m low on N, P, and K. Can I put down fertilizer at the same time as Celsius or should they be separate? If separate, how far apart and which first? Should I mow before or after Celsius or how long before/after treatment should I mow? What length? Also, what sulfactant do you use?
So this comes with a chemical to treat sedges? Yeah this has huge potential. Bigger deal, Thank you for showing the results in the same video particularly with the sedges.
thanks for the feedback on that Celcius extra. Curious to price the new formula and see if its worth it/cost effective to not have to carry an extra "Nutsedge" sprayer mixed.
if only they would have left the dicamba in it !!!! can't get much deader than dead 😂keep up the good work Jason along with the informative content, I've had my lawn and landscape company 34 years strong and would have loved to had access to all the information available today back when I started. and yes that's dog fennel my friend.
Awesome video! I have a neighbor who wants help. Would you use this to blanket spray a Bermuda lawn full of weeds now, with temps in the 90s, or wait until Fall when cooler or after it goes dormant? Thanks!
I would not take this over a Celsius and Certainty combination. Celsius Extra would not work very well on Kyllinga. Certainty is superior in instances where Kyllinga is present.
I think torpedograss is basically a lost cause unless you use glyphosate and kill everything. I tried multiple applications of quinclorac and it just turns it yellow
@@CoryLancasterYT one more solution I was thinking of is taking black plastic sheeting and lay that in the area you want to kill. You want to leave it down for at least two months. Nows the perfect time to do it because it's so hot. It'll cook and sterilize the soil 2-3 inches deep possibly deep enough do eradicate the torpedo grass
Will take down Bahia grass? I have centipede grass and the pesky Bahia is killing me, it grows so fast and can’t stand the seed heads that grow so fast. Please share something that I can take this down.
@@lawncarelife thanks for the prompt reply. I know sedge hammer is good but I have a 24oz bottle of Image I need to use up. Hopefully it will do the trick. I Reel mow my Zoysia to 1” every two days and within 24 hrs I can see the Nutsedge popping up 2 to 3” above the turf. Not a serious issue but one I want to control.
Jason Which do you like most Celsius or ChangeUP as a stand alone for Centipede broad-leaf mostly lespedeza, black medic, clover, oxalis, and chamber-bitter
I have regular Celsius and love running it alone at 0.085 (medium rate per gallon per 1000 sqft) with 2 tsp of surfactant. It is similar to MSM/Manor but slightly faster and easier to mix in smaller batches. Jason do you think ChangeUP is best for Centipede?
I run Celsius with the low rate of MSM mixed in and we were running halosulfuron/sledgehammer but it just about doubled in price this year so we figured out how to get backpack rates of ambition which does pretty well on yellow NS not so great on GK OR purple. That's a pretty good all purpose backpack for everything but fescue and rye grass lawns. Does that Celsius extra have the same amount of active as regular Celsius? We got a sample bottle in last year and I was thinking it was for about half the acreage that regular Celsius treats Roll tide BTW
According to the instruction label, to get the best efficacy, the spray solution should have a pH level of 6. I don't think this guy even know what the pH value of the spray solution.

@@glennscorsone3516 celcuis doesn’t have a temperature restriction. Only restriction is don’t use surfactant when temperature are about 90

I've never seen Celsius hurt nutsedge. Try sedgehammer or ambition.
Celsius extra is slightly more expensive than just mixing sedgehammer and Celsius.

Does Celcius Xtra work well for globe sedge in st Augustine grass in south Florida
Celsius XTRA is great on globe sedge in St. Aug.

too expensive to blanket spray. I typically use it to spot treat weeds. I typically do not blanket spray anything in hot weather.
So... anyone know where to purchase?
“It’s hard to get more dead than dead” 😂
Hard to argue with common sense like that. I've learned that people on UA-cam want to argue with just about everything I say sometimes
Yeah… you know they know it all and have nothing better to do!
