  • Christmas is an exciting time and it's even more exciting when you know your kid is getting something you both can enjoy! This video is the Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer Assembly. We are just a father and son putting together our first 3D Printer. Let's work through this together!

The instructions for the Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer Assembly process are fairly vague. There are some instructions online that piece the puzzle together a little better. I included some quick snapshots of those in the video to help for those following along. Here is a link to that PDF (I do not own the site that hosts this file, nor am I the creator): images-na.ssl-images-amazon.c...
The biggest tips would be to carefully remove the items from the box. This is not a process you should rush. The pieces should be handled with clean hands as grease residue is not ideal and is difficult to clean.
The other is to make sure you know the voltage of where you are using this printer. Our unit was preset at 230 but we use standard outlets that work off 110 to 115. The 220 to 230 realm is usually one area of the home and areas in the garage as well as outside (in some areas). Be sure to know and check your unit.
The last tip is that there are some extra parts. There are a few screws that are extra as well as a nozzle, extruder, and some hose clips. These hoses clips are not detailed in there placement in any printed instructions I have found. The clips attach to the filament hose ends to help make sure the connections remain secure.
The extruder threaded rod for the Z bearing does take some screw loosening to make sure it gets properly seated. This may take some tweaking and I did a random test once I placed it in the area we plan to print.
There are 2 screws I had to loosen where the rod for the Z bearing goes into the nozzle kit. This allowed the rod to settle better into the groove of the Z bearing rod. I will try to show a clip of this in the next video where we do how to on bed leveling before our first print.
The belt tensioner that you have to put on is another piece that is not detailed in the included instructions. The mystery is solved in the online instructions I linked above. Basically the belt you install requires tension and once the belt is installed you loosen the screws and retighten the tensioner.
In speaking of the belt, this is another piece that is not clear in how it is secured onto the unit. This will attach to the nozzle assembly and there are two slots/slats on one side of the nozzle assembly. They catch on these on either side once looped through the gear assembly on either end of the axis (this will make sense once you get started on assembly).
The last bit is to remember this is aluminum which doesn't handle heavy torque all that well. Be cautious when wrenching on the bolts/screws included and not put too much tension on them.
    Let's get printing!
There are upgrades available for this unit, so Creality if you are watching, we are happy to test or showcase any of those items!

There is a huge learning curve here but we did our first print and it was so fun to do together! If you are doing 3D prints, what did you print first?
