Cape Town is only dangerous if you do into the Cape Flats. If you’re in green point, Camps Bay etc it’s relative safe! Obviously don’t do walking around in the middle of the night (you shouldn’t do that anywhere).

Guys, I’m Brazilian I live in salvador, it’s not like he described in the video, of course it’s dangerous and you need to watch out: like not talk with scammers or go alone as a tourist to any place of course you need to be careful. But it’s not like that. I mean, if someone here went there they wouldn’t instantly be robbed or kidnapped or murdered, it’s a beautiful place to visit, it’s one of the best states of Brazil. And the most important rule NEVER GO OUT AT NIGHT. I mean, you can go if you want BUT ITS WAY MORE DANGEROUS THEN DAY and everything he said about Brazil, of course it’s right, here we are used to crimes at day and people with guns. But of courrrrsseee it’s not sooooo dangerous how they described in the video
And I can assure you, the only state that is really dangerous is Rio de Janeiro, then I advise everyone to be careful if you go anywhere here, but it’s not so extreme
I mean, I'm from Mexico and I feel exactly the same bro, and he barely mentioned the US and there are a lot of freaking places where you say a bad word and you get killed there.
I'm Brazilian and I must say: I have never been robbed in my homeland or suffered any kind of violence. But when I traveled to Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Barcelona (Spain) I suffered some attempts of robbery... So, we cannot only accept this advices from the media and internet! I’m kind of surprised that it’s Cape Town and NOT Johannesburg that’s considered the most dangerous city in South Africa. I traveled and stayed in Cape Town back in 2017 for about a week, and for the most part, things were not too crazy out there from my personal experience. But hey, I guess it’s a good thing that I was lucky and fortunate to not be in or around too many high-risk areas in or around the country 😐 Also, most of the people I met and hung out with while there were mostly very polite, hospitable, and funny people. It’s unfortunate that not everyone there can be like most of those I met while there. I hate to say this, but I think most people can agree that it’s mostly police/government corruption and the scars left over from racial segregation laws imposed under the Apartheid system that are to blame for the vast majority of criminal behavior and why so many Black Africans in South Africa still live under deplorable living conditions in the Cape Flats and other impoverished neighborhoods. It’s truly a shame 😔 Sorry for the long ranting 😅
Nothing makes me a more proud American than seeing two U.S. cities on this list. You guys should look up videos of people who sag their pants and try to run from the cops. It's so funny and let's me know why people throughout the world call us dumb. 😆 I actually watched a video one time where this dude's oversized pants got caught on a fence and the cops got him. I just shook my head and wished I could move to New Zealand.
Before this week, I've actually stayed for 3 weeks in Querétaro, Mexico which is located right in the heart of Mexico and as long as I've been there, I've never had any issues with the people there. Everyone there were very friendly any I would say that Mexico is a very good country to visit especially if you are comfortable speaking Spanish. I know that Mexico also has its share of murders, robberies, and kidnappings, but I think as long as you use normal precaution and you stay away from suspicious people or activities, then you should be fine. From what I've experianced, Querétaro is actually a much safer place than Puerto Rico. Also in Mexico, I've had much less of a language barrier because I remember in Puerto Rico, many people who claimed to speak English and Spanish couldn't understand me well in neither language, in Mexico however, although most people there don't know any English, they do however understand me well in Spanish. Of course to be fair, I know a lot more Spanish now than I did in 2008 when I visited PR.
I live here in Querétaro too. Born here, been here 2 years. It's relatively safe here. There is crime & as in any city bad neighborhoods. I live in Lomas de Casablanca which is one of the rougher neighborhoods. However I have a lot of family & have no issues walking around even at night. In certain streets I won't mention you are almost guaranteed to run into trouble at night. Mostly addicts trying to get more money or drunks fighting each other. For the average person however it is a great place to live even here. The city as a whole is booming & modern as it is with plenty of jobs. I love it here
@@Crazymexicano214 like me where I stay at en el rancho de Santa María de Los Baños when I go there, I can easily walk around the place and Los Positos and visit my friends who live there like if I lived there for many years. Actually, I've had much less of a language barrier in Mexico than I did in Puerto Rico. I remember in 2008, when I visited Puerto Rico, many people who claimed to speak English and Spanish couldn't understand me in neither language. However when I went to Mexico more recently, although nobody knew any English, they did however understand me well in Spanish.
Mexico’s a strange one tbh… I think people would be surprised how much tourists are left alone by the cartels… I’ve travelled round the country in places such as Sinaloa, Jalisco… many more. Maybe 4 and a half months here… never any problems. I felt more of a target in Colombia… which I also still love
I visited Santiago de Queretaro just last November and a tour guide I had told me that the city was very safe (in contrast, a nearby city of Celaya was dangerous and they don't go there!). I walked around Queretaro and never felt unsafe at all. Nice small city, not really a touristy place but it has it's own humble historical charm! I'd visit again!

You forgot --- Baghdad, Iraq, Kabul, Afghanistan, not to mention practically every major city in Syria. And not to mention as well, East St. Louis, Illinois.
It seems like our guy from Infographics has never travelled. It's not the average murders per 100,000 which determines or stops you from visiting... It is the amount of stealing / cheating / robbing tourists. Murders happen because of cartels and they don't touch tourists. But being duped and cheated is a different story. Please visit places like Siriya, India or Turkey.
In kingston Jamaica tonight 6 people were shot 3 died and thats just what made the news thus far, I would never wanna experience a country with a higher crime than jamaica Just imagine🤦

That era was even crazier, if you weren't around to recall. Even the outer suburbs were infested with gang activity before the big crackdown of the mid 90's, and weekly brawls at the local, mostly white high school were a thing. Nah. Downtown isn't safe anymore. Even during the day.
We used to have our robotics competitions there. Nastiest place I've ever been. More than half of the buildings were abandoned and heavily vandalized. The homeless people were really persistent and horrible. There are almost no restaurants downtown. I can not believe they had 7000 school children go there from all over the world for those competitions. It's so dangerous.
Wasn't that the city where the government sprayed chemicals on poor people to see what would happen?
I’ve lived in St. Louis my entire life. About 1/2 of the city is safe-ish, keep your head on a swivel but for the most part you’ll be fine. The other half? It’s the hood where people from the hood are scared to go

i am brazilian, born and living in João Pessoa, already been to all those capital cities in northeast Brazil.
i've already been multiple times to salvador, went to the exact location of that picture from it, already went on that elevator and that museum down there.
fortaleza? wtf i thought it was safe, next year i'm going to tourist there (for the 3rd time) i might reconsider...
i was already suspecting that Natal wasn't showing up, glad it did, its very famous for being violent, because of the recent gang conflicts between rioters and the state's polices.
i was very shocked, i knew brazilian cities would appear but somehow rio de janeiro, recife or no cities from santa catarina showed up... instead, showed up some that i would have never imagined!!

I’m from Brasil and I was impressed by the inequality and fear of violence in Cape Town. Lovely city, though.
It’s really sad to see Latin America dominating this list. It’s no wonder why most of us want to leave. People just don’t understand.
Cape Town is only dangerous if you do into the Cape Flats. If you’re in green point, Camps Bay etc it’s relative safe! Obviously don’t do walking around in the middle of the night (you shouldn’t do that anywhere).
Man, I don't know why but the idea of Caracas, but that 69.15 percent in Brazil, wow.
Nice
I now feel confident that i could survive as a tourist in the middle east. I live in south america therefore i can survive anywhere
If you do a part 2 you should consider "La Perla,Puerto Rico", it has quite the reputation.

I mean, you can go if you want BUT ITS WAY MORE DANGEROUS THEN DAY
and everything he said about Brazil, of course it’s right, here we are used to crimes at day and people with guns. But of courrrrsseee it’s not sooooo dangerous how they described in the video
And I can assure you, the only state that is really dangerous is Rio de Janeiro, then I advise everyone to be careful if you go anywhere here, but it’s not so extreme
And sorry for my English please, I’m just 14 and I’m learning it, so please don’t be cruel

Every place offers some kind of trouble, so we must be aware and always search more about the place we are visiting!

I'm surprised that Memphis isn't on this list.
I dont care what anyone says, Detroit, Chicago, E. St. Louis, Memphis, Philly -- all of these are WAY MORE DANGEROUS downtown at night
Philly not necessarily downtown, but around Temple, west of Penn and Drexel, K&A and Frankford are war zones. I mean no disrespect to Ukraine when I say this.
Detroit had a 10% drop in violent in 2021, while most cities had an increase.

You know what's worst than the violence in Tijuana? The 4 to 6 hour wait to cross back to California 😫
It’s truly a shame 😔
Sorry for the long ranting 😅
But the only reason it is like that is because of apartheid which the country is still affected by the after effects

Then they got things like paying officers for at least some type of protection and their might be a chance you’ll be extortion and blackmail/threats

That era was even crazier, if you weren't around to recall. Even the outer suburbs were infested with gang activity before the big crackdown of the mid 90's, and weekly brawls at the local, mostly white high school were a thing.
