Yea, unfortunately in Mexico the government is corrupt and the Cartel is large enough, wealthy enough, and powerful enough to pay off politicians and law enforcement.
Ruben Medina large pharmaceutical companies created the overdose epidemic yet they are not held accountable. I think the politicians are thoroughly paid off.
@@guyshepard9658 that is the only reason, Fentanyl is being smuggled accross now. Supply and demand, and Mexico sure supplies for US junkies.

The sanctions aren't helping, but they had issues before the sanctions. Before the sanctions, everyone was living off of oil money. Great when it was over $100 per barrel. Terrible when it dropped below $40 a gallon. But yeah, the sanctions clearly didn't help. I wonder now with the war in Russia how much will sanctions be lifted.

I live in Fortaleza. Despite some accurate info, I would definetly say that the city itself is by no means dangerous. Actually the only areas that were plagued by real violence were organized crime's HQs, far from the city itself. Also important to notice that the decision to gather criminals from different gangs in prisons across the state were from the State government and not the National government.
Can you make a video about what has been going on in Hong Kong?
Why what's going on there

Most of the violence in Mexico is gang and cartel related, they really won't go after tourists from what I have experienced.
What about violence towards civilians?
@@Jono1982 depends, if they are friends or even know somebody from a rival cartel then yeah that person is gone
KYNG 88 from that’s probably the exception. Unless you’re in a hot spot.
@KYNG 88 that family had ties with the cartels an that's why they were killed, and in Mexico meanwhile you don't mess with the people they won't mess with you
@KYNG 88 That family is not really American. They are a mormon polygamous cult that have no titles to that land that is in dispute with the state government.
The head of the family was told to disarm a while ago and he flaunted the threats. The police came down but were chased out by the members of the family. They were there to warn them to get out because they have provoked the wrath of the nearby cartels by blocking their drug routes.
The family was warned several times and their response was that they "were ready for war" and were armed to the teeth, violating Mexican laws to boot. They also refused Mexican documentation and have not presented themselves to the US consulate because they believe that as polygamists they are being "persecuted" by the US government.
Nobody here is playing small violins for them.

I love Baja California and I go down to Tijuana several times a year. For the most part I usually feel safe. I was surprised to see it as #1 on the list. I have never seen any dangerous activity while down there, so it is sad to hear that there is so much violence happening there. The people of Tijuana deserve a safer community.
I did a school project on Venezuela and didn’t come across info about violence... My life’s a lie
Same
Venezuela has only become violent within the past 5 years. Basically the socialist government took advantage of $100+ barrel oil to fund their socialist programs and as a result Venezuela was one of the wealthiest nation's in South America but once oil crashed to $50 a barrel the government started to print money to find their socialist programs instead which resulted in hyper inflation and economic depression. Simply put socialism is like sugar, you get a high off of it in the beginning but afterwards you will feel sick.
Adam Smith more like you get hyper off sugar then, you get a sugar crash.
dude it's crazy dangerous hah. At least Méxicos violence is mostly between gangs. Venezuela it's mostly just normal people getting killed for resources.
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv You were so close and then went and messed up. It isn't socialism that caused the problem it's the single product command and control system that did. If they had a robust, varied economy then one resource diminished in price wouldn't affect you so badly but if you have one product that you rely on then you are building on a weak foundation in the first place. You don't blame capitalism when a coal mine closes, do you?
Don't go to Venezuela/ South America got it
Best to just watch from afar, in a air conditioned American building with WIFI, in AMERICA.

Bolivia and Chile are fine in South America

I really wanted to go to Acapulco for vacation since I always visit my grandma in Zacatecas but my mom adviced not to:( it’s so sad Mexico has such beautiful land and weather but it’s infested w cartels
I'm surprised San Pedro Sula, Honduras is not on this list.
Its worth noting that violence towards tourists is extremely uncommon here in Mexico. I have been here since January. The homicides are basically only between rival gangs. If you are not involved in the drug trade, you dont have anything to worry about.
@Joe Al he is saying the truth but you also have a point I've been to Sinaloa many times.
For the most part and don’t travel at night
I love Acapulco! This video makes Acapulco seem so dangerous when in reality it's safe for tourists. I visited in January just before the covid19 shut down. I had no issues and the people were so friendly during my time there.
Its fear mongering . Its racism

Can you please do an extended special on the west Memphis 3. Their story is crazy and I would love to see you guys pick out some details I missed.
I'm Mexican & I'm terrified of traveling around Mexico because of all the things I've heard, yet my family & friends are always going on vacations in Mexico lol just recently my family went to Alcapulco & said it was relaxing, apparently tourists don't get attacked as much as the media claims, they're protected very well, usually tourists that end up being killed had some shady business in Mexico or visited an area they were advised not to go to but broke the rules, or just wrong place wrong time situation.
It's unfortunate. When I visited Mexico in the early 90's, it wasn't close to this bad. You could explore the cities and countryside alike with minimal concerns.
just like the movie " la mexicana" w brad pitt at the 90s

I would add a bar graph to compare, adding on the cities as you talk about them cause its sort of hard to comprehend such big numbers.

Cape Flats in Cape Town, South Africa is the place to avoid rn

We literally don't realize how much safer this world is when the crime rates in the most dangerous places are still significantly smaller than what went down in the middle ages.

You can go to liveleak or bestgore and see the violence yourself although it’s EXTREMELY graphic to the point you can’t sleep at night
How did Mogadishu not make this list? I have read travel reviews that say if you travel there hostage takers are usually pleasant if your family pays the ransom. Also it is a great place to visit if you don't value your life!

Yeah, I've been to Tijuana, MX on a missions trip before. Crazy place.
I love how all the most horrible people, especially those with huge guns, generally have HUGE smiles and look like middle schoolers 🤣
I love how when they mention Venezuela they never mentioned the socialism which made 1 American dollar 10 Bolívar
I Love how in all these "violent" themed videos all the cartoon characters.. As in "gangbangers, murderers, Midevel tyrants" are all so happy during the presentation of the content. I Friggin Love this channel..

I've been to Juarez back in the mid 90s. Our base commander gave us a recommendation to not go there but it wasn't a direct order. Men and women from the Air Force and the Army had been involved in some type of crime, anything from beat up to kidnapped (not sure of murdered). We used to go to the bars since most bars had $5 cover and then drink all night long
More like me and my roommate when there's only one bagel left in the fridge.
Basicly, Brasil is dangerous... Or any Latin countries.
Uruguay is not that bad
@@TylerSolvestri Ecuador is nice as well, same with Bolivia
@@chibifirestorm Not really, Ecuador is also violent but not as much as the others, in Ecuador there are many individual criminals but not criminal organizations, while Bolivia, I don't know what to tell you, I don't even know, for me they are just like the Paraguayans...
@@TylerSolvestri Ecuador wasn't bad to me, i spent 2 weeks travelling around there backpacking and the people were nice and friendly and as long as you use you're common sense and street smarts you'll be fine. Only issue i saw was pickpockets and theft on buses and stuff, nothing violent really.
@@chibifirestorm I mean, Latin americans are nice people in general but if you go for the wrong paths you might get into troubles, all those countries have their safe zones, especially the places were there is a hight rate of tourism and its surroundings, that doesn't mean that all the country is like that...
Freaky yo my moms home town is cuidad Victoria 😲 my grandma there told me how the cartel would extort business owners and if they couldn’t pay up they’d cutt their limbs off and keep them alive my uncle mentioned constant fights between the military and cartel and the military and corrupted cops as graphic as the military killing bad cops and cartel
