I think a lot of people forget how interconnected our world is, and what life was like before electrical grids were maintained. Especially when they have to go outside and try to fix one of those structures. Without having prior knowledge, experience, or the incentive of cash.
In a catastrophic doomsday event, how many electricians will survive and band together with the focus of restarting civilization when there are sub-classifications to being an electrician. The chad power station maintenance operator vs the guy who goes around fixing faulty heaters in buildings are two VASTLY different skill sets, and if you lose a lot of population, you're gonna be missing many, many key blocks to civilization where even people with 'some skills' will need months of combined effort to reconnect and rebuild parts of the system. And that's just 1 example of a system that we rely on that average people aren't able to realistically build. Let's just say, you're gonna have 20+ fast food workers for every 1 person with sufficient knowledge of repairing critical infrastructure before the collapse. You're simply not going to rebuild nearly as fast as you think in the event of large population loss where many of those highly skilled individuals simply will no longer exist for everyone else to rely on. Most people are gonna give up on turning the power back on real fast since the assumption will be " 'Those' people will try to fix it" when they (skilled individuals) may be worried more about food, shelter, their families, ect over going to find the thousands of sections of the power grid that have failed and attempting to fix them, in vain, and with little to no support. Just off their own will for a good cause? Depending on the damage of course, but we're talking large scale damage anyways since 'apocalypse'.
There's always the option for solar/wind power, or vastly stockpiled gas to maintain power, also potentially able to still communicate once the fires die down, via satellite communication, like internet, or cell service, yes many systems will be down, but without all of the space around earth also being erased, communication is not out of bounds.

@@Jactheitalian it’s more likely that you’d die from radiation poisoning and you wouldn’t have to stay in there forever. Most likely you’d be in there for a few months and the surface would be mostly safe again, depending on your location of course.
Short of making a nuclear bunker your best bet for surviving is to learn how to farm, hunt, basic first aid and to print on paper a bunch of guides from the internet. A list of basic traps is significantly better than a gun with limited ammo or gas or whatever. Or a rough guide on how to build shelter quickly or braid ropes. Oh or a guide of edible mushrooms - that will feed you for basically half the year.
would be hard to do if much of the planet is irradiated and in a nuclear winter. That's why some of these vaults like the seed bank in i think norway is so absolutely vital. Underground communities are the only way we'd survive.
The main problem is mostly that people underestimate the effects on being long together underground. Maybe someone will overthrow the leaders, creating chaos or doesnt want to share anymore or someone comes the idea to rationalize everything so like no work=no food or medical treatment. Tons of possibities and in everyone, the human is always the breakpoint. Thats why I would choose a very small group of long-trusted people and train with them for any situation and set a few ground rules how we want to be in a possible post-apocalyptic world.
Right, John Goodman did a take on that in a low budget but surprisingly good film: he plays this creepy prepper… two people trapped with him in his bunker but doubting the world has actually ended… can’t recall the name of it but it’s worth watching.
Has it never struck the shop owner that gun sales go up when they are more likely to be restricted/banned? You purchase things that you think will not be available when you need them. It happens with everything, not just guns.
hey guys and did u know that more people get killed by pigs than the sharks?!! if u liked the fact and want more content like this sub to my channel btw im a kid!!!!!!!
My group were all children(survivors?) of familys with 6 or more kids. We realize if we do NOT want to live on the same 30 acres of land with our siblings. Then we don't feel the need for our group to form a commune. We have bought parcels of land near each other, all of them fit inside a 4 mile circle. Walking less than 6 miles you can visit all 7 prepper homesteads.
That makes so much more sense to me. You can create a small town, but you need to still be self-reliant and have your own space. We know that, because we're Human, we can't be cooped up indefinitely with a bunch of other Humans. It will always go pear-shaped because it only takes one person to cause chaos.
Now I think about it, even if the end of the world doesn't happen, their money and effort making these amazing structures are absolutely worth it.. Especially the guy who spent all his time making the shelter with his family.. Looks like I gotta build one..

Do you realize that giving up is just another form of suicide & in most Christian / Catholic religions its a sin? To Dalton the weather geek believing in someone or something like God, your family & friends, if used right is a powerful motivation to survive just like not believing in anything will lead you to give up. I’ve honestly considered making a nuclear bunker numerous times. I’d make it out of the fuselage of a plane, bury it underground, and then surround the metal frame with reinforced concrete, with tunnels connecting the fuselages together. One would be used for sleeping and a lounge/kitchen, another would be used for storage, and another would be used for farming and for water which would be brought in by a well, used to spin a turbine for electricity, and filtered for drinking. On the way in there’d be a shower for washing off radioactive fallout. I think it could work
One thing I've noticed about a lot of these videos about bunkers and such, long term bunkers especially, is that although, they seem to have taken water, food, hygiene and entertainment into account, they seem to have forgotten about oxygen, non contaminated breathable air. Even the presenter doesn't mention it.
Or created any sort of structure which will have people contributing to the society inside. Especially the very wealthy people one, they seem to think they can rely on a handful of other people to run it all. But what is the motivation for those "workers" once they're down there? The workers will do all the work while everyone else just does that they want? OK. Let's set a timer to see how long that lasts lol.
I hate it. I unsubscribed from infographic because ever since the Ukrainian conflict all they do is post fear-mongering videos to generate views in times of uncertainty.
The government say we need to be ready for 3 days in case of disaster. 3 weeks is what you need for a major one. 3 months is what we should all get ready for. If you have 3 months of stuff you can use that time to get ready in case it goes way longer. If you need to start scavenging after 3 weeks, you're in big trouble. If help doesn't come after 3 months, it never will...
I was raised plan for the worst hope for the best. There is a difference I think in prepping, those that are prepared for a variety of scenarios, and those that hope those scenarios happen. Those are the nut jobs that give prepping a bad name. If you throw a knife in your pocket or aspirin in your purse, you are a "prepper". You hope you don't have a headache or need to cut a box open, but it makes life easier if you have it.
People call preppers crazy because there's nothing any prepper can do that actually prepares for the end of civilization. Do you really think hoarding guns and a bit of food will do you any good? At best it buys you a month or two.
@@fantabuloussnuffaluffagus I think there's a difference between prepping an area in case of an apocalypse scenario, and being crazy about it and making it your life. If you really want to make a survivable shelter you need to focus on a way to grow food, recycle the soil, and process water and make your own electricity - all under ground. All those people making shelters that have luxuries in them make me laugh. If that happens - you aint got time for luxuries. Most of your day will be spent farming and making sure the water you can gather thru a well is safe to drink.
@@Vel.Asunai I'm pretty convinced the only way to avoid the apocalypse is to be somewhere else. Any plan that includes staying in one place is doomed to fail, there's too many people that will be trying to get the same limited resources.
When someone says they are preparing for doomsday or the end of the world, have you ever noticed how practically nearly everyone in the room gives them weird looks to outwardly denigrating them? Or at the very least, giving them a wide berth as if they’ve contracted some new exotic disease? I find this mindset weird because being prepared for whatever disaster strikes and having a place you can hold up in for an indefinite period of time is actually something that brings you peace of mind. That you’s and yours are at least able to ride out whatever it is that you’re hiding out from. Whether it’s nuclear war or the zombie apocalypse you know that you have options if the worst comes to worse. I think it’s just a symbol of someone’s indomitable will to live and willingness to persevere in the face of a catastrophe that could wipe a great number of us out and that shouldn’t be denigrated given that time will prove that their foresight and preparation is the correct one.
There is a vault with every seed I believe around the world just in case the world ends. The bunker opens and can access every type of food or something.
The best part about bunkers is in a year or so when you get out you get to play in a apocalyptic wasteland. Well untill the radiation gets you a few months later.
I like all of your videos, but I feel like it should be mentioned that one reason that Europeans do not buy a bunch of guns as part of their prep, is that it is way, way, wayyyyyy harder to buy guns in Europe

No matter how well prepared they were, still they will encounter more worst disastrous scenarios outside the world that won’t let them able to sleep and longing to die rather than to survive.
Every generation has had certain events that make them believe the end is nigh. I feel like we forget this. I don’t want to downplay what’s going on right now but perspective is important. There was (in no particular order) both World Wars, The Great Depression, The Plague in Europe, Colonization of America and Canada from the Indigenous people’s point of view, Residential schools, The Fall of The Roman Empire, The outbreak of tuberculosis, The Cold War and so much more. I feel like fear mongering isn’t the greatest thing to do in a crisis but if it actually is entertaining people then it might not be all that bad.
I think that’s a fair point. I would just tag on the fact that countless of lives and possessions were lost so I don’t blame people for prepping. Most preppers I know are preparing for natural disasters. The examples in this video is definitely the exception and not the rule.
You realize all but one of your examples of apocalypse events happened before it was possible for one country to hit a few buttons and launch nukes and from that the other side fires without a human touching a button... Big difference now then during ww1 for example. And technically the Cold War wasn't actually an event that happened just a era in time... So there's that
The same thing in Florida happens in Idaho as well, you load up on guns and ammo because of the anti gun laws that most democrat politicians like to try and pass such as HR127 so you want to get as much as you can before they’re banned or restricted by the Government
That people buy more guns when democrats in power is not too surprising tbh. If anyone has ever met a gun enthusiast, they are not letting go of their guns peacefully. They'd probably bury them in a barrel of oil or something. Besides why should criminals be only ones to have guns.
Which is pretty messed up, honestly. American society only needs guns because they have decided they need them "to protect themselves". Let alone individual citizens massively arming themselves. Most of the rest of the world gets along just fine without guns, and have more freedom, safety and peace of mind than Americans do as well.
I can understand the one in South Dakota because they're well within the fallout/ blast range of the ICBM missile fields in North Dakota, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming which would be a first strike target in a nuclear war.
I've seen those they are repurposed ammo storage bunkers but they are not underground they are built on the surface and covered with dirt a big difference.
The community and luxury bunkers make no sense unless you’re EXTREMELY close with everyone else who would be there. Look what happened when there was a toilet paper shortage.. and the ones with guards are just ridiculous… why would anyone stand outside manning a post.. even if they’re given space in exchange, THEY’RE the ones with guns. They can easily just take the whole complex over instead 🤦🏼♂️🤣 I get that it’s really not expected to ever be used, but come on. Spend your money building something private that’s actually useful if it’s ever needed
Or, rather than spend their money and time on a doomsday bunker they could use their money and influence to help prevent a doomsday scenario from happening in the first place. The really nice ones are filled with people who have some serious money and influence. These are the kinds of people who can pick up a phone and talk to world leaders when ever they want. Sadly, most of them use that power to just make more money or gain more power rather than actually making our world a better and safer place. No matter how nice your bunker is, after a doomsday you will never again live as well as you are now.

For one, living isolated lives underground will surely lead to a myriad of mental health issues, frustrations and anxieties. Furthermore, what will those rich people do when they emerge from their bunkers to find that life has changed beyond all recognition? What will they do when they see that those poor people upon whom they relied day and night now lay dead or maimed and a cloud of darkness had enveloped the world.” - Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad Let's hope and pray that we don't see a Doomsday.

FYI a huge percent of the population will die because they aren't close to their home base or bunker. So all these people thinking they will make it to a different country will most likely not make it either. Even being 15 minutes from your base can be deadly in those first days.

I think I'd rather just go out in a blast then spend the rest of my days huddled underground knowing that the world as we know it is over and mostly everyone is dead or dying.
@@Jactheitalian it’s more likely that you’d die from radiation poisoning and you wouldn’t have to stay in there forever. Most likely you’d be in there for a few months and the surface would be mostly safe again, depending on your location of course.
Or very good painkillers lol
Short of making a nuclear bunker your best bet for surviving is to learn how to farm, hunt, basic first aid and to print on paper a bunch of guides from the internet. A list of basic traps is significantly better than a gun with limited ammo or gas or whatever. Or a rough guide on how to build shelter quickly or braid ropes. Oh or a guide of edible mushrooms - that will feed you for basically half the year.
very insighful thank you
would be hard to do if much of the planet is irradiated and in a nuclear winter. That's why some of these vaults like the seed bank in i think norway is so absolutely vital.
Underground communities are the only way we'd survive.
Ok- I’m gonna hunt for irradiated chickens.
I would hide in the train tunnel cheap and you can building safe home in one of the abandon track and camouflage.
Wildlife don’t have bunkers. You’ll be eating irradiated food.
Ok it’s either die or get in a bunker and potentially have a civil war. Which one sounds smarter?
Right, John Goodman did a take on that in a low budget but surprisingly good film: he plays this creepy prepper… two people trapped with him in his bunker but doubting the world has actually ended… can’t recall the name of it but it’s worth watching.

I think it could work
This model works perfect for the flat earth.
What about the air to breath? Any outside air will be radioactive 🤔🤯

Or created any sort of structure which will have people contributing to the society inside. I've never understood why some people call Preppers "crazy". Like, do you have insurance?
Because most of them are complete paranoid fruit loops to be honest

They can easily just take the whole complex over instead 🤦🏼♂️🤣
I get that it’s really not expected to ever be used, but come on.
No doubt the makers of them are banking on this.

"As if you put together all the preppers and their firearms, they would have a decent sized militia." Hmm it's almost as if that was how the founding fathers intended it to be.
The founding fathers also intended for their to be no standing military. The "Well regulated militia" was supposed to be formed when needed to defend the country and then be disbanded once the threat was over. Obviously that worked during our revolutionary war but wouldn't do so well in modern times.
@@TheDavemarz right, which is why we have a standing army.
Canadian here! Hitting the woods and hoping for the best all the way!
The Australia guy has a good idea. Go as high as possible to be as far away from the US as possible.
The one for bees is the smartest one I ever heard of.
Not gonna lie. If I worked maintaining or building some of these places, I would just go there if things went south. Realistically, we only get like a 30 minute warning before nukes hit. I doubt the people who buy these places will ever get to use them if we did have a nuclear war.
Just make sure that you do not have a nuclear target between you and your bunker. Having a dirt bike would be a really good idea.
17:25 why is a well formed militia a 'scary' thought to you? are you a tyranny it should be taking down?
