Thank you guys for a great video of how to do the purge replacement. You gave instructions that were simple to follow and straight to the point. This is how all repair videos should be done.
I'm scheduled to get this issue repaired today on my 2010 Soul. I got a quote of $347 for the entire job which includes the diagnostic work. I was tempted to do it myself, but not so much after this video as well as the comments on doing it yourself. I think I will just pay the experts. Great video nonetheless, not an easy spot to record.
Got a similar issue, rough idle/sometimes stalling after fuel up. Great video. Y’all two were funny too with the real commentary haha, beats the other boring car maintenance videos.
My ordeal began about a year ago, it affected the remote starter function, and car stalled every time I fill up for gas. I bought the FIXD card reader, it told me what the problem was, and provided a video on how to the repair. And to be honest, most of the videos in regards to this repair are poorly shot, but they do tell you how to fix it. The problem I encounter when I attempt to fix my car was the lack of space, and the fact that the Purge valve sits behind the Engine, not to mention that the hose to and from the Purge valve are sealed tight (due to time, pressure, etc). Just like the video says to do 1) remove the hose clamps 2) the hose valve will not come out easy, so I ended up making an insicion on the hose which relieve the hose tension. 3) I took my Hose removal pliers (bought it at Amazon), and use to them to release the Hose from its counter part( Metal tubing on the engine and Purge valve). I installed the new one, passed my Smog Test, save my self $300, and my cars issues (remote starter, hard to start, and engine light) all gone.
Thank you so much! This helped a lot! Same issue, fill with gas then won't start. Then check engine light came on. Went to autozone to get the computer reading done. Husband got himself a project Saturday!

Thanks for the video, my friend! Been having the same problem on my wife’s car. I guess it’s a fairly common problem with these cars, as I’m finding out.
Pissed because free content didn't fix your problem? If you can't do a simple part swap that requires only a socket, pliers and ten brain cells then yeah, you should probably just pay someone else to do it.

Just did the canister purge valve and could not have done it without this video INCLUDING the mount

Thanks for the video really helped have same issue
Thanks for the detail video. It helped a lot.
Your welcome
Thanks for the video very helpful thanks bro
Its weird that my check engine light doesn't come on but I have the issues that many others have along with the code showing up when reading.
super helpful!!!
Never top off the fuel fill. Excess fuel will run down the hose at the top of the fuel tank fill neck and run into the purge valve wrecking it.
Why was the installation upside down? The new purge seloneid intallation looks backwards to me..did that worked 😁
Tyrese forgot that shyt was in there.😁
💯
What is that part number
I got this problem rn I can find no one to do it where y’all located ?
Seattle wa
@@d11auto That's close enough to home....How much y'all charge for this!?
How are you going to skip the most important part. I’m out here working on my car before work. Pissed
What is the most important part that I skipped?
You didn’t show the whole part where he took it out. You skipped to the part where you talk about installation
I just ended up putting my car back together and decided I’m just gonna have to pay somebody
If you watch you can see how it comes off when I explain it
