I have a p0420. I changed the cat, pcv valve, spark plugs are on decent shape. Switching this part out, will it help? Any ideas? Thank you for the videos.

I don’t know what your Kia soul is doing but my wife’s was hesitating a little bit and a check engine light was on and when I scanned it it was related to fuel either the gas cap or the part you saw me replacing this video if your Kia soul is hesitating or acting like it wants to cut off it could be this problem I always go with the cheapest problems first and if it persist and if it aligns with the code that I pulled from my scanner. I will go from there if that makes sense hopefully this helps

Where you getting a code from the check engine light? How did you know to change purge valve?

I used my blue drive scanner it gave me multiple codes I can't remember off the top of my head which code it is but I will look really quick and let you know

Why are you purging it? What is this for?

I have a very shallow understanding of what exactly does but the gist of it is it regulates fumes from your gas basically

This valve is part of the emissions control. When pressure builds in your tank it prevents fumes from being released into the atmosphere. If it isn’t working properly you may lose pressure from your fuel pump causing the car to run bad or not at all. I looked at this video to see where exactly the valve was located on my car. That helped so thanks and give this young man a break for being able to do his own repair without 100% knowledge of what the part does. He saved himself $$$.
