- Kolkata is the city which has second largest skyscrapers in India after Mumbai. there are plenty of high rise projects either on hold or not approved, sometimes the basic reason is Airport authority of India for airport permits or environmental permissions. in this video let's find out the tentative reasons.

কলকাতা শহরের অধিকাংশ উঁচু ভবনগুলো পুরোনো অনেকটি ব্রিটিশ সময়কালের ভবন যাদের মেরামত করানো হয়নি। শহরের পরিকাঠামো খুব খারাপ এবং শহরের গরিবের পরিমাণ ও ভারতের অন্যান্য শহরের তুলনায় অনেক বেশি। আমি ২ বছর কলকাতায় থেকেছি। এই শহরে এখনও ঠেলার গাড়ি চলে এবং রাস্তায় শুধু আবর্জনা। দাদা শুধু উঁচু ভবন থাকলে দেশ কিংবা শহর উন্নত হয় না। বরং ইউরোপের শহর দেখোন বেশি উঁচু ভবন নেই কিন্তু শহরগুলো অনেক উন্নত।

It's high time that Calcutta concentrates on a second airport, and the most preferred one would be near Kalyani.
Since Calcutta stands on alluvion soil , therefore, high-rise buildings would be very cost incentives . Urban developers of Calcutta must take high-rise buildings to further north places like Barreckpore , Sodepur , etc.
When Mumbai could go as far as Mera Road and beyond, why not Calcutta!
Calcutta is losing its metropolitan status day by day. Why can't Kolkata Corporation bring those municipalities like North Dumdum, South Dumdum, Barrackpore , etc, within its folder? In such a case, Calcutta, with a bigger landmass and bigger population, shall be at par with Mumbai.
High rises can be built alongside the riverfront, most of which come under Calcutta Port Trust. Most likely, that area does not fall within the flight paths.
Calcutta can't decorate its neck with a queen's necklace, but if it can build high-rise alongside its riverfront, this area, which is used to be a place of happening once, shall again be bubbling with its past glory.
Calcutta lost almost all its international air connectivity. It must encourage those low-budget international airlines like LOT(Polish ), Turkish, Chez Republic , South China, Srilankan, etc. to land here . These airlines don't bank on business class but on the economic one that Calcutta can always afford in the absence of industries and other major commercial activities.
Even a few years ago, Chennai Airport used to be the sixth largest airport in India, and very soon, it is poised to take 3rd place, replacing Bangalaru as multinational companies are turning it to auto, electronic , IT and medical hubs.
So, Calcutta, don't waste time and join the race to retain its past glory.
Food bloggers of Kolkata must not encourage those vendors occupying the pavements and selling their recipes. It's the pedestrians' pathway. Let them walk on it instead of the roads that are meant for vehicles.
New Town has the potential to have attractive skyline as well as natural landscape. Some more tall buildings above 20 floors at least should be built around Ballygunge, Jadavpur, Mukundapur, Science City area. To get London, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo etc. non stop routes, Kolkata needs to increase international students and prospect of business growth.

But I have taken a min approx number... I have interest in this so I have searched each building mentioned in wikipedia also YS reality.... You can have a idea how tall a building is by looking. So yeah Hyderabad gonna be the next skyscraper city. It is even good we need many skyscraper cities in India... Also there should be many projects in kolkata as well.

Tall buildings are not beautiful. It is better to promote beautiful buildings, beautiful architecture and designs.
Beauty should not be prioritised infront of basic needs. Thinking about future only tall buildings can remove the residential space problem cuz already the posh areas along with the sub areas are already filled. Good video and thoughts put up. Problem is that bureaucracy of this country does not know planning. If you see most of the developed cities of the world, skyscrapers are concentrated at one place - in a small radius. Rest of the city does not have any skyscraper, which helps in aviation and other infrastructure planning. Take New York's Manhattan for example. In India, they want to put up skyscraper everywhere - which leads to unplanned urbanisation.
