The Pakistan's Titanic analogy is perfect in every sense.
    1. Like in Titanic, there's a clear divide between the upper deck and the lower deck...the haves and the have nots
    2. Journey through the frigid waters was fraught with danger and hitting the iceberg was imminent.
    3. While the ship is sinking there's still the orchestra playing. People don't seem to realize what's hit them yet.
    4. There were 13 life boats in the Titanic, likewise there's one for every ruling elite and the ones calling the shot at the establishment.
    5. The lead characters still harbor hopes of surviving, while I am sure one of them has to play the part of Jack.
    6. None of the passing ship are gonna respond to the crises call this time around.
    7. While Titanic is a tragedy for the ship and it's voyagers, it's pure entertainment for the movie goers especially since it involves a certain actresses love making scenes with the lead actor. Talk about sex scenes, Pakistani politics is rife with that too.
    My heart will go on.....

However, I sincerely believe that if PK had not split from us - they would have likely impeded IN's progress as well. So you cannot wake a man who is only pretending to be asleep. You cannot free a man who wants to be bound in the chains of ignorance, unfortunately. Yes, Uzair is very right ! I was 35 years old in 1991 . When the news of flights from India loaded with gold, going to London for mortgaging it to Bank of England was leaked ,the Nation was shocked beyond description. Just couple of years before Rajiv Gandhi ran the campaign " Mera Bharat Mahan " ! The auto riksha, truck guys sported two slogans :
Mera Bharat Mahan, Sona uska gahan !
100 mein se 90 beiman, fir bhi Mera Bharat Mahan !
PV Narsimha Rao as PM and Manmohan singh made the magic. Dollar when made fully convertible as per the international market rates, did the magic . Indians really moved out earned, ran businesses and school/ colleges and rest is history

While India undoubtedly faces various challenges, it is heartening to see the progress being made in addressing them. Given its vast potential and rich cultural heritage, India has the opportunity to emerge as a major force for good on the global stage. Let us hope that this happens sooner rather than later, and that India can contribute to a brighter, more harmonious future for all.

I wish India too must make many more strides in strengthening our democracy and also in narrowing down the rich poor divide. Without doubt Mr. Manmohan Singh's role in reshaping our economy is unquestionable. Unfortunately Pakistan for many years was under military rule. Religion should not be allowed to interfere in the governance of both the countries for better progress. I feel that the successive Pakistan governments obsession with Kashmir was the major reason for the strained relationship between both the countries. Hopefully in future relations between both the countries improve and enable people from both sides to easily visit the other country.

    1. Palm oil is cheaper then ghee/butter in India. However, Palm oil is bad for health. People use more expensive oils (Like Sunflower oil, soyabean oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil etc) for daily consumption.
    2. The reason Indians prefer milk, ghee and butter is- access to unadultraded milk/ghee and butter with a reasonable price. India has a legendary history of coopertive movement, which ensured operation flood (milk revolution). That ensured quality milk, ghee and butter in every corner of India. Amul, Nandini, Aavin, Verka etc all are Cooperatives.

Children taking education seriously, taking coding, programming and software usages to new heights, parents saving meticulously for their education and foreign degrees 😊😊 Girls n boys in a very healthy academic competition, youngsters vying for jobs/businesses, employees striving for promotion, businessman craving for expansions, real estate boom, financial markets soaring high ! Great innovations in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy ! Wow great movement forward ! Corruption and small time cheating has nearly come to an end .
My hopes are that once these foundations of economy gets sounder and sounder and Institutions ( what Pakistani call Idare ) become stronger and stronger, the politician's abilities to harm would be weaker and weaker ! They are bound to come out of colonial hangover, divisive rhetorics etc . Thanks indeed for kind words about my country, India.

I was intrigued when Uzair spoke about his ancestors (the Memons of Kathiawar) converting to Islam in the 16th century. I belong to a community called Hindu-Saurashtra people (based in present day Tamil Nadu) who originally hail from the same Kathiawar region, but migrated to Southern India in the 16th century to escape the Muslim invasions in Kathiawar. I guess while my ancestors moved south (then controlled by Vijayanagar Empire) to escape conversions, Uzairs ancestors embraced Islam and bought peace. Human history is fascinating. All that said, listening to this podcast makes me convinced that if peace is given a chance, Pakistan has more to gain.

Pretty intriguing! My ancestors moved from Karnataka to Uttaranchal. My dads village was formed in the 16th 17th century, not sure if the movement also happened at the same time or before, I am not even sure of the reason for movement, but yes, it all is very fascinating.

Our small roads are because of environmental constraints if we built big roads all natural Beauty will be gone and with it all the tourism.

Civic is not a big car in India. It is quite common among the Indian middle class. Even a BMW and merc and Audi is pretty common. Maybe a Lamborgini or a Porche could be a head turner but I come across those beauties every 2nd day in Cahndigarh which is not even a metro city in India. Jai Hind!!

That being said i will be the first one to accept we have many problems and long way to go to uplift millions who cant afford 3 meals a day and millions who are being brainwashed under the garb of Nationalism- but that being said heart of billions at the right place and will do everything in its power to keep things in check!

We already had digitised IDs before Aadhaar whether it's your driving licence or pan card etc but Aadhaar was game changer because of the digital database it created of the population with there biometrics data included which helped various institutions like banks and government to implement its schemes much effectively and made KYCs easier.

In Indian financial crisis time in 1991, we felt ashamed and humiliated loaning out all that Gold and those pics of Gold being loaded in trucks in the Newspaper made the difference. We said never again. But for that too, we had ample Gold reserves to begin with, which helped us out. I don't think Pakistan has that much of gold reserves to help them get an IMF loan without too much of scrutiny from IMF or world bank.

Uzair is such a well read individual. No fluff words, and the way he described India from a tourist lens was just beautiful to hear, and imagine. Funny enough my dad was a representative for Bombay stock exchange, and was posted in Pakistan for 3 months for commodity trading. He had a similar image of Pakistan that people on the ground are just like us. He had one observation that is reflected here as well. Literacy is pretty low, and if they invest more on education, and general well being Pakistan will be in a pretty good shape from Economical perspective.
