Let’s gooo! Great episode with loads of useful information, lovely memories and friends for life 🧡 sorry we have only just watched it you know all the crazy stuff that has been happening for us recently!
Cheers Rob - another great video. very very informative re Alderny. In fact I can't think of another sailing channel that packed so much info into a video about the place.
@@ianqv Hi Ian, glad you enjoyed it. There’s probably a bit too much information. I was lucky enough to be shown around the island by people who were there for a while. Sailors are very meticulous and I’m sure they would like to arrive somewhere and know everything there is to see and do that’s not widely publicised! Hope your sailing ⛵️ seasons going well. I’ll be over Bradwell soon 👍
We live on Jersey, another Channel Island & regularly head up to Alderney for a few days, we reckon it’s fifty miles & fifty years away…..it’s literally like stepping back in time in the most awesome way…..
@@conyermud1 your very lucky to have all this on your door step. I didn’t go to Jersey, it’s the only place I didn’t visit but I’ll be coming back next year for sure. 👌🏼 you might be bias but is Jersey better than Guernsey? I left St Peter’s port after a day. I found it really unfriendly which put me off going to Jersey 🇯🇪
Promise its not always that bad in the harbour. Early season we didnt have the best of weather. Hopefully see you again next year and youll have a settled few days. No better place to be.
@@jasperosborne827 Hi Jasper, I love Alderney and can’t wait to come back, especially with the family so they can experience the Island and the beautiful beaches. So much to see and everyone made us feel very welcome. I genuinely looked on rightmove when I got back 😁 as I would love to live there 1 day. I also only did 1 day in St Peter’s port and came back to Alderney after being ignored when saying hello in the marina. The island had a great community spirit & the harbour didn’t put me off at all. With all things that require a lot of effort to get to they are always worth it. I think I did about 8 nights in total but was really unlucky with the weather. Thanks for watching 👌🏼😎
@@EastCoastSailing_Hi Rob totally agree, such an amazing place to live with a young family, As you can imagine it does get very busy during the summer with Alderney week during the first week of August. Going back to the Video. With the mooring layout. There are Visitors buoys to the east of the bay. Gives you a bit more shelter from the Easterly winds. If you do come when it's busy, we'll find you somewhere to go even if it's on a local Buoy so call us in the harbour office 😉.
😂 Looks like they don't want their guests to get to comfortable with those guest moorings. Hard to get 100% protection in a exposed island like that. Anyway, just a comment for the algorithm. Thanks for sharing your journey.👍
@@noldushumlesnurr6169 There was no chance of getting comfortable in that anchorage. The Germans should have built a longer wall 😂😂 well worth the sleepless nights. I was also called as my boat was dragging the mooring lines. I never moved so quick 😅

@@coljhall glad you enjoyed it. Well worth the effort, pick your days wisely otherwise you won’t get much rest in the anchorage ! Thanks for watching
