Couldn't agree more. As a transplant into American culture, I was shocked ate the total lack oc solidarity amongst wpmen here, as well as the level of loneliness I experience as a stay at home mom. Months pass between meaningful interactions with other females. This is a uniquely American thing. When I go overseas I witness a totally different behaviour.

They’re a fun read, full of bite and humour, as well as wondrous rabbit holes that peel back the layers of psychology and human identity that lead to the kinds of revelation and insight you can’t seem to find in mainstream education today. A tour de force of knowledge and classical education. Love Paglia. What an Amazon.

Men need to be men, and women need to be women... everyone is happier that way, it's so obviously true.
Men and women are not equal, we are not the same, we will never be the same, and we do not want to be the same.
Men are being told that their masculinity should be suppressed, so they're unhappy... women are attracted to masculinity, so when it's suppressed they're also unhappy.
Western society has become terribly feminized, and it's bad for everybody... except those who want to see the West destroyed.

    • @severusfloki5778

    • @superasper
      @superasper 4 роки тому +5

What do you mean by feminized? Men are still men, as far as I can see. Transgender people are still a small minority, even though we talk about them more.
Also nobody is saying that men should suppress their masculinity. They just no longer have the obligation to be the strict “pater familias” who the children barely see and, when they do, it is only to receive punishment. A man who hugs his child, takes the child to the doctor or helps with the homework is not somehow less masculine. It’s his child. A man who earns less than his wife, because she has a higher-paying job is not somehow less masculine. A man is not a walking wallet. His value is not limited to the money he earns. Of course, if a woman wants to be a housewife and marry a man who is the sole breadwinner, well, she can do that. It hasn’t been outlawed. It is a bit risky, but a good savings/investment account and life insurance can mitigate the risks. But some people are definitely not happier that way.

I say "traditional" because to think of the gender roles as arising merely from tradition (and therefore society) is just silly... men and women are best suited for certain roles because of their very *nature* as men and women, and based on their actual *biology* .

So many women in our Western culture act like men. As a heterosexual male, I am in no way interested in "masculine" females. Hell, I avoid them like the plague. I don't want or need a female in my life, it's easier and better to just hang out with the guys. When my best friend got divorced many years ago, I noticed he was feeling down, so we sat down and talked about his divorce and how his future might look like. Yeah, we 2 men talked. For maybe 15 minutes and then we got back to normal stuff. We never spoke about his divorce again, and we have a close friendship that has lasted for 32 years even though we see each other maybe only 4 times a year. That's how most men do things. I cannot (and will not try to) morph myself into a "politically correct" or a "semi-man" because I am who I am, the way I was born.

    • @potatoface6986

I think her idea of Women in agrarian societies being 'happier' is really not totally correct. Just because the social systems were solid and we're 'ruled by older women' and 'seperate from men' does not imply that everybody was happy. Just because things are different now does not mean they were better before. It's really not as easy as retrograding society and then everything is better. A 'terrible loss' isn't all that terrible. She's good at talking from her viewpoints and she does it strongly, but I definitely think we need to hear her debate somebody on the opposite side.

If we could change that dynamic so that their natural power could be recognized and valued then maybe we could produce happier females. Now we have unhappy females and males.

      @mensrea1251 3 роки тому

The two are spiritual and intellectual kin. Jordan has even done an interview of Paglia, he was so fascinated by her knowledge and body of work. A lot of mutual respect there. Fun fact: the first time Paglia was introduced to who Peterson is was at one of her campus talks and a student asked what she thought of Peterson’s stance on refusing to be obligated to use woke gender neutral pronouns. Paglia didn’t know Peterson at all and had never even heard of him, but she immediately launched into a passionate defense of his position and the utter ridiculousness of the woke left’s agenda. When two hugely knowledgeable intellectuals independently arrive at the same conclusion, it’s hard not to pay extra attention.

Women will do nothing. They are programmed to be naturally hostile to the idea of being at fault (for anything).
The fact is that men lead, women follow. If we men “man-up” and refuse to be bent by feminised society, if we develop standards of our own and enforce them, women will have no choice but to follow.

My ex gf has/ had a lot of guy friends - I don’t care what anyone says - this was annoying to me and of course an anxiety source as a potential problem.
What if I hung out with successful beautiful women with peach butts 1-2 times a week or even month? You cool with that? Generally I bet most successful and respectful older married couples know this
Men and women having 2 separate worlds feels better to me for relationships and speaking from experience in working in both male dominated vs a blend of primarily female work environment - I hated it. I’d rather work with the guys and then have my time with my gf after work.
I get why women would want to have guy friends, women can be brutal to eachother with their slights and behind the back talking and some fakeness - not saying guys don’t do that but generally I feel it more from women because of their overall nature.
Men are bigger and stronger more physically imposing - so, women have an adaptive advantage in other ways in their development to this.

okay she is absolutely right but the thing is this does not necessarily make feminism wrong. Hetero-normative standards dictate that men and women intermingle more than they should. Just an example is restaurants. Men with repressed homoeroticism want to look at pretty waitresses and tell their friends how good they are at judging female traits.
Guys should absolutely have guy time, but the dominant social mechanism used is the "player" mentality that in order to be friends with other guys you need to show them how many bitches you can score, among younger generations, probably adopted from older generation variants like the restaurant example (i.e.. see Hooters). And if guys just want to hangout with each other that is seen as "gay" or a sausage fest. That's the problem that feminists have, at least traditional feminism.

    • @djayt1215

C'mon, think through what you've been taught. deep down you know that's not the best explanation for the phenomena you're describing.

    • @internetenjoyer1044

It's female sexual selectivity which determines what's "alpha" with respect to who gets to mate with the most women though. Becuase child rearing has a higher cost to females, they're more sexually selective than males with regards to mate choice. Thus we have a situation where there is two female ancestor for every one male ancestor. So even if that theory of why men comment on women's looks to each other (It could plausibly be part of the picture), the reproductive pressure on males to fit a certain "image" (it's actually a set of images, becuase what you're describing is high status males having more reproductive success. There's a multitude of ways to get status) comes from female selectivity. Note tat I'm just being descriptive here, I'm not using the science for some mgtow blame game shit. You're looking at things through a feminist lense, but feminism is ignorant of evolutionary theory. But everything about us is a product of evolutionary pressures.

And that because women don’t collect themselves trophies from every single guy that took advantage of.

It's in women's best interest to be a sister wife.
    That goes for lesbians,too..
being some man's quiet and obedient wife.

No it's not in my best interest. It's in your best interest not mine as a woman or we won't have women rights movement. So don't speak for me.

    So, erm

Tell that to all the women who got hot for a feminine man/fuck boy and then wonder why their relationship fails after 3 years.
If not, that's the exception, not the rule.
The same applies for nice guys, almost always does the relationship die and lacking in intimacy because all comes down to nature/biology.
      Bleed out? you die, simple.
No matter how much you say or think you won't die if you bleed out.
      The fact is, you die.

U say this but it’s their masculine parts ur truly attracted to. It’s bold to be able to stay laid back and conversational when other men are likely very confrontational. It takes guts and physical confidence. It’s not such a radical idea that these men u say u are attracted to because of their feminine quality actually have an equal amount of masculinity as well. This is different from wimpy men who instead of having both feminine and masculine parts, lack masculinity at all. 99.99% of women don’t want to date a wimpy man who can’t take care and stand up for himself.
