    6 months ago, I could barely get 90 degree bend on my knees without feeling that it was going to tear. After watching you glute/hamstring excersize videos, I'm 95% recovered, have stronger legs and glutes and I can squat without any pain. My knees do click and crack but it's no longer painful. Excersize and mobility stretches is the way to fix the kees. Thank you.

      While walking I try to move myself forward I also try to lift oneleg and place it ahead in such a way that I have to push with my toes and place my foot lightly ahead,this prevents jarring and helps me to walk without feeling pain in my knees and am able to move ahead
      without pain.

    Thank you for all that you do! I'm working my way through your videos and taking notes. I have recently been diagnosed with a torn meniscus with arthritis in my right knee. I have just finished 10x PT sessions and I am in a good place. I can walk, stretch and can do a few simple weight exercises for the glutes. I am wondering if I can now do the bands that you place around both thighs'booty bands'. I am very anxious and holding off as I am worried the opening/twisting of the legs would put pressure on my knees...any help much appreciated

    For my osteoarthritis knee arthritis and meniscus tear, I rested for a couple of months. After that I was able to walk.

      Hey There, rest is commonly a good practice with arthritis and meniscus tears. It is also important to improve muscle imbalances that assisted in the development of arthritis and meniscus tears. We have some great content that can help to address these issues if you are interested in learning more. Here are some links:

    What exercises do you recommend if your arthritis allows you to walk & play 9 holes of golf?
    I look forward to your reply. Renewed thanks.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 роки тому

      Hey Alan, that's great that you can play up to 9 holes!
      You probably need to be doing some weight lifting at this point. You need to focus on your glutes. As long as you can use your glutes effectively, squats and deadlifts would be great.

    Is dancing advisable?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 роки тому +1

      Great question Tessie! It's hard to say yes or no. It depends on how you feel afterward. There are so many different types of dance. It really comes down to how you're using your muscles when you dance. If you use your quads too much, then you're probably going to have some knee pain with dancing. If you can tire out your glute muscles more than your quads while dancing, then you can probably use dancing to help with knee arthritis.

    I've watched several of your videos and I find them extremely useful. I've been doing a lot of the exercises suggested by you in your other videos.
    Even before I first saw your videos, I'd been exercising, going to gym, etc , ever since I developed arthritic knees (10 yrs ago). That's kept me flexible, comfortable and mobile. In fact I've been able to do everything I wanted to. I still do exercise and yoga.
    But for the last few years I've been getting a BURNING SENSATION in my knees. It doesn't affect my mobility and I still exercise and managing quite well. But I'm writing to ask if you can suggest why I could be having this and what I can do about it.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Suguna, that's great to hear that you've been able to do our recommended exercises and that you're still exercising and doing yoga!
      The burning sensation in the knees (without mobility affected) can be a symptom of irritated cartilage or an irritated meniscus.
      Very often, it is nerve related. Specifically the saphenous nerve. You can learn more about it here:
      “Inner Knee Pain From The Saphenous Nerve - How To Find And Treat It”

      @@epmanualphysicaltherapy thank you. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I got your response. Thanks. I have gone through the video you suggested. I think perhaps you're right that it may be the saphenous nerve. I'll try out the exercises for that and let you know how it goes. Thank you very much.
