By the way, I am aware that things were different in the Light Novel and there was cut content but I only wanto to cover the episode as presented in the anime since that is what we got. Light Novel adaptations just by their nature are going to have cut content :/
The problem with this episode isn't that there was cut content in it, just like almost every other episode of the entire series. The problem is what they decided to cut. They rushed through a part of the story that they really should have spent another episode on. It's stuff that's pretty fucking important to the entire future story, even if only indirectly. First of all: Roxy feels like a completely different character, after this part of the story, depending on whether you read the novel or watched the anime. They skipped over some pretty damn important details for _this_ event of all things. It's like the characterization of the main cast got shot in the foot, which is even more egregious when you consider how important "characterization" is for this story. Second of all: Rudeus pretty much told Roxy about his past life, in a roundabout way (kinda like "I had this friend who..."). Even if this isn't directly referenced in future parts of the story, just the fact that Roxy heard it is pretty important for her characterization, going forward. There's more I could say, but you get the gist.

Sylphy knew Rudy was a horndog and kinda knew it would happen eventually.
