thinking about it. eris has done nothing but improve her sword during her separation from rudeus. while rudy was busy attending school, building his social life, making experiments with the armor, and saving zenith, but he's still able to keep up with eris without wearing the armor. imagine if rudy became obsessed with only improving his combat skills. he would've been a beast.... or the old rudeus i guess.

The only time we saw old rudeus was when he had a giant gaping hole in his stomach and was at the brink of death, but before that he could easily manipulate gravity and was basically the strongest mage out there.

@@ahnaftahmid1839 Old rudeus travels back in time to warn current rudeus about how Man-God tries to trick him and the consequences of what would happen if he falls for it. Old rudeus tells him about everything that happened in his life, gives h im the diary that he kept and then passes away from the injuries he suffered while time traveling.
It describes how roxy and the others died during the alternative timeline, but I doubt it the manga / anime will go into detail. At the end of Rudeus's story where he dies off old age the novel explains that Eris also died off old age before Rudeus and that Silphie / Roxy are still young and healthy because demon-folk have longer lifespans.

old rudeus was able to control gravity and time he also destroyed entire kingdoms by himself and was much more experienced in battle it was also implied that aside of not being able to go in the void he would probably be able to defeat hitogami not to mention his intellect old rudeus is easily one of the strongest characters of mushoku tensei

Old Rudeus can face off against the human god with the possibility of winning, to the point that the human god had to destroy the forms so that he can reach him, He is the most broken character in the entire mushoku tensei franchise, he can regenerate his body parts no matter how bad his injuries are and without reciting incantation as long as he has mana, they had to nerf him making him not time travel effectively losing all his mana and half of his internal organs so he can't do anything but warn the young Rudeus, How about 10000000 if he is practically a god

its impressive that rudy does not need to train that hard to achieve this power. by just playing around with water he manage to increase his mana capacity same as laplace
He has something called laplace factor which increases his mana potential and grants incantionless magic but in return he cant train touki, which is what swiordsmen use to strenghten their sttacks and increase their durability, which is why we see him struggle with the sword a lot

As you said Rudeus at the end would be stronger than Eris without using any armor, but in a 1 v 1 it would totally depend in the distance they are at and if Rudeus is using his armors. The problem with Rudeus is that he can't use touki so even if he is probably the 2º-3º better magic user alive in the LN he still could lose in a fight easily because his body is not magical or have protection of any kind. When he use his armors he can fight agains Orsted (even if he was obviuslly gonna lose) and that makes him someone to fear.
At the End of the LN Rudeus without armor is maybe top 10 stogest creature and using armor he is defenetly the 7 great power. We also have to remember that when the final battle ends Rudeus is 24 so he have a long time to train, and his strongest magic is used once in all the LN (the gravity Magic) or even the "nuclear magic" he uses agains Orsted so I really think Rudeus in his peak would be 2º-3º strongest creature alive (using his armor), we have to remember that he can Improve his armors too and Atofe said that using his armor he is at God Class mele lvl (the higher).
Nah Rudeus without armor is a lot weaker than Eris. But Rudeus was defenitely the 4th strongest creature in the world wearing the MK-0, only Alexander Raybak, Badigadi and Orsted (and maybe Hitogami) were stronger than him. Maybe I am wrong, but Eris could still beat Oldeus in MK-1. I don't really remember.

His gravity magic can only move objects, and his electricity wouldn't help in a battle with god-tier fighters because they would just block it, He didn't master voice magic, he was at the brink of death after performing the time travel. His magic armor is weaker than current Rudeus.
Conclusion:
Oldeus with armor Oldeus solid top 9, still wouldn't win against, Perugius, North God, Sword God, Water God, and Atofe Ratofe. Might be able to win against Death God.
No armor: Oldeus> Rudeus.
With armor: Rudeus> Oldeus.

Old rudeus is probably one of the strongest charecter if not the strongest
no way eris was as strong as rudy at the time of the 2nd fight vs orsted. Rudi literally made the strongest man on the world use all of his magic power and damaged him a lot in melee fight, whilst eris just held back a severely wounded swordsman with no magic left at all.
Youre overestimating him. It was a low diff fight the moment he knew he wasn't up against a normal opponent and was aware of Rudis' location.
The large-scale spells at the beginning drained maybe 25% of his mana at a push to defend, and then he perhaps needed another 10% for the god sword. All in all, it really wasn't that draining capacity wise.
The kicker is that he needs to be at close to full capacity to stand a chance against hitogami, and his magic comes back thousands of times slower. Considering the strong opponents he was conserving energy for if required, like laplace, this battle was a massive strategic loss. It was a great show of how strength isn't the only factor on who wins a battle.
For context, he was probably still recovering mana from the rudi fight, even by the end of rudis story.
Besides that though, I agree. Eris was strong but only about 45% as strong as mk armour rudeus.

he was literally crawling on the floor using his teeth vs orsted in the second fight. To be fair orsted was really just watching Eris although she countered his moves where as Rudeus straigh up failed a surprise attack.

This comparison is really bad. First, we don't get shown how strong each one of them is compared to the other at roughly the same time, but rather when they themselves reach certain milestones. Why would you compare an infant Rudy to an Eris on her anime debut. That's foolish in any sense of the word. The video should've compared their Levels, during certain points in time, for example in Rikarisu, Windport, Beast Forest, Millis, Shirone, Orsted fight etc. But it's just confusing this way.
The thing the pushed me over the edge was their combatative strength level at the Orsted rematch. Yes, Eris has grown very very strong, but she is nowhere near Rudeus at that point. Rudeus in his Magic Armor Mk. 1 forced Orsted to draw his blade and made him go all out, otherwise he would've not been able to end the fight, with some mana left in him. The guy didn't even think about drawing his sword against the Water God Reida, and Eris wasn't even able to defeat Reida's pupil Isolte, much less Reida herself. The only reason Eris even got a hit on Orsted was because the latter held back massively. He didn't use the real Sword of Light, just a rather fast swing, since he was anticipating Eris to be on a similar level to the Eris he met in previous loops. That version of Eris never reached the rank of Sword King and wasn't ever able to counter a real Sword of Light. Thinking that Eris (Boreas) Greyrat was still a needed figure for Ariel to ascend the throne of Asura, Orsted probably just used a attack that would render the previous Eris out of the fight, but not on death's door and after that he would've probably just finished Rudeus.
Eris never in her life surpassed the capabilities of Rudeus in his M-A Mk. 1. Change my mind

If I remember correctly in vol 16-17 it is said that Rudeus with his MK1 usually trains with Eris, and most of the time he lost and if I'm not mistaken I think he could never beat her.
At close range Rudeus max probably rivals a king rank; Rudeus gave him a good fight because he took much distance, when Orsted shortened the distance he left him half dead with 1 hit
@Josue Bardales Vol 16 and 17 Cover the Asura Kingdom Arc, and since the MK 1 got completely destroyed in Vol 15, it's highly unlikely that your take is correct. I remember a training session between Eris and Rudy in those volumes where they had 10 mock battles and Rudeus lost every of those duels apart from the one, where he managed to block Eris' swing with his Prosthesis. He managed to kill a God with the MK 1 later in the story. At close range at that. There's no way Eris can take him on in that. She only wins cause Rudy would never use magic against her, which could seriously hurt her.

And if you mean Badigadi with the armor, it was because he had already fought for days doing a 1 v 6-9
I still believe that maybe Rudeus can win a King at the end of novels but an Emperor maybe very hard.
That's not bad, that's balancing the character and that a mage can't solo a swordsman focused on short-range combat
@Josue Bardales the people that Kalman III fought were Eris, Rudeus, and Ruijerd, weren't they ? Due to the King Dragon Gravity Sword, neither Eris nor Ruijerd managed to get close to him to inflict damage. It was then that the former North God, Kalman II, stepped in to fight him but got taken out after a short while. Barely enough time for Rudeus to get the MK 1 and return to the battlefield. Kalman III might have fought against multiple people, but he only lost some mana. The injuries he suffered were so minor that his immortal body managed to heal them. Don't forget that Rudeus only just managed to return from the earth wyrm cavern, he was thrown into by Gal Farion earlier. All in all, both parties were weakened by the time they fought their duel, which Rudy won at close range by the way.

Being saint level and knowing a saint level skill are two different things. Rudeus was saint level at 5 years old bc he knew the skill colonimbus but he was still not strong enough to beat intermediate level guys at during episode 5. These ranking aren’t horrible but just wanted to clarify the basis behind certain scalings

she would be the best sword emperor, she would not beat the sword god (jino), but she beat sword god (gal) - ruijierd shielded her from his attack once, but gal feared that she is better than him, so he used water sword god technic and still lose (she would also die if ruijierd didn't shield her), she alfo cut off kalman 3 arm (north god) - he was distracted, but also was using the dragon king sword (cursed and op broken sword so this does not count couse even kalman 2 couldn't beat his son but said that he is superior in technic) and she was only person confirmed to cut off a limb of orsted in a fair fight (he was injired by rudy but he healed in less than 1 sec so xd)
we know that she is better than water god and superior to kalman 3rd in a fair fight, so sword ranking would looks like:
orsted > jino > eris > kalman 3 > reida

The only way I can think of that oldeus in this list could make sense is if this is his effective power after the backlash of the time travel. He was missing several organs and most likely no mana and still 10mil. I'd say maybe least 19 mil even in that state though.

Bruh old rudeus was broken..the only time we saw him was when he was damn near death alteady due to him committing suicide to go back in time to warn his younger self but before he time jumped, he was one of the strongest people in his timeline. He went around killing demon kings, members of the seven great powers etc. He was so broken freaken man god destroyed all ways that would allow oldeus to enter his realm because he feared rudeus was capable of killing him.

Eris has been high end advanced rank for awhile now, and since she caught 2 low end saints off guard she was given the saint rank title
but she can't perform the long sword of light so obviously she is significantly weaker than a saint rank if she is using sword god style conventions.
I swear just using north god style bumps you up like a rank and a half who tf decided that sword god style is the strongest.

Yes, she trained so much and also that Swordman are really OP, they can win in most battle scenarios against a mage at the same level. A Saint mage will loose almost all the time against a Saint Swordman, the only way is that the mage has the long distance free and the swordman was baited, because the use of touki give much advantage. And for Rudeus, he is one of the few people in that world that can't use touki, even mages can use touki to some degree (far inferior than swordmans but still) so he becoming that strong without being able to use touki at all is amazing (Later he get something "similar" but even before that Rudeus could beat swordmen in the same level as him in much more scenarios than any other mage).
@@wehreoc360nos i read the ln and you cant compare rudeus as usual saint level mage vs saint level swordsman cuz he can use voiceless incantation, the incantation is the greatest factor why same level mage loses to swordsman. Rudeus also has the demon eye even on close range I think he has no problem putting a space between them using voiceless magic instantly. So i think if they fought seriously to death at any timeline rudeus would win 99%

But without armor in his usual state, he cannot tank any blows and his body cannot move fast enough to evade blows from touki enhanced swordsmen even if he has the demon eye. And remember, the demon eye will show different possibilities of attack if the attacker has multiple routes they can take, and rendering it not all that useful in a high level fight.

If we assume Rudy and Eris were approximately equals during Turning Point II then there is no way Rudeus could be stronger than Eris before going to school considering in the years before they reunited Eris did nothing but train whereas Rudeus only did missions which were relatively easy for him.
The only way you could argue Eris was weaker is if you think Rudeus suddenly had a growth in strength during this time but there is no evidence to support that.
