But ironically he was the one who got picked up in the dungeon.
yeah bell could have several different girls in the dungeon but their is only one girl he loves and the anime only hints at who she is on this last season. anime has done a poor of job of highlighting this ship instead focusing on the other girls in the harem. It is going make people upset cause it going to hit a lot of them lke it came out of no where.
if you think season 1 is solid, then get ready because once you get past the harder to watch season 2, you have season 3 which is on par with season 1 and then season 4 and 5 which is in my opinion the best seasons of danmachi
@@weither Season 3 is where the show and the novels really hit their stride. It's all uphill from there. Season 4 is almost non-stop action. Season 5 starts as a slice of life and very quickly goes off the rails with an excellent mix of drama, mystery, intrigue, and action. Season 6, when it releases, will be the beginning of the end with it all probably coming to a close with season 8. I'm pretty sure we have also have another movie coming our way sometime before the final season.
The title and premise of the show is a play on the old hero trope. The intent layed out by his Grandfather was for him to save a damsel in the dungeon so she would fall in love with him. Instead, a girl saves him in the dungeon and he falls in love with her. The love and admiration he felt after being saved gave rise to the unique skill that boosts his growth potential in proportion to his feelings. It's a joke title hence why we all just call it Danmachi.
Boy entered the Dungeon to start a Harem, left it with love so strong for a single girl that he was gifted an ability that makes him 100% Immune to all Charm along with EXP Boost. He truly fell hard for The Sword Princess.

DanMachi is a fucking FANTASTIC show. The problem for me as well was the title, but as soon as I watched the first season I literally couldnt stop myself, caught up with the anime and started reading the novel!

It might not be that popular but it does quite a bit of things right (as well as things wrong). Overall its VERY solid anime for people to enjoy. I heard you mention a bit of questions towards the end and Im pretty sure they get MOSTLY answered as you go on more and more into the seasons. I will be honest with you. Agreed. At 4:41-4:45, you said "It does world building, but it doesn't want to commit to the world building", which is because there's an entire extra series that's built around the rest of the world.

Their is ryu story from her family persepective. plus the story on how the girls join the resturant. All these are light novel story and have not been anime. Sword Oratoria did not do well on it first season so their only one season of it but the light novel do continue as they are view of what happening from another perspective and take a look at the evil familiar of the world.

For example, the gods descended for two reasons, entertainment and to help the children of the lower world survive the monsters that were pouring out of the Dungeon in the Age of Heroes. Secondly, I have to disagree with your assessment of Bell’s character. His defining characteristic is that he’s made up his mind to grow stronger and to catch up to Aiz Wallenstien, the person who saved him at the start of the series. We hear references from other characters referring to his soul and determination as a once a millennium occurrence (as a matter of fact we know who the last person like this was, it was Argonaut who started the Age of Heroes). As for the world building, I would agree that it hasn’t fully committed to world building in season one. It certainly has plentiful world building, but these come about as Bell learns about the city, the people, and the world around him. I mean, Bell is a farm boy, so it works. My point is, DanMachi is a great story with excellent characters that the anime doesn’t always do justice to. Especially Welf. Honestly, there is a lot I could say about the series, but a fair chuckle of it is dressed in spoilers for great developments.
True bro back when there was only one season i thought it was gonna be a SAO clone, but then the story got me hooked, not top tier but pretty solid, the ss2 came around and it didnt do really well so i stopped watching it, then last week i found out about ss5 and started picking up where i left, and damn ss3 didnt start out strong but it got pretty solid later on and ss4, tho i dont wanna overhype it, is where it got me completely in love with the serie,
If you still proceed watching it. Dont drop it in season 2 and season 3. Try until season 4 its worth it in my opinion. Some drop after season 2 or 3. Just try season 4.

The anime is slightly above average for me but the light novel is a masterpiece. Its the first time I read a novel that makes me truly hype with its fights scenes and dramatic story telling. Its like I'm reading a myth or watching a classical stage play. The world building is simply superb, a lot of things happening at once, tons of side stories and past remarkable historic events that are very relevant to the story. And oh man foreshadowings. The Author is masterful in creating foreshadowings, one downtime volume about multiple short stories about characters little and insignificant things become relevant in the next 3 arcs, the author is insane in planning arcs its all connected and relevant to each other I recommend watching the prequel side stories, the Argonaut (yes Bell's skill), Astrea Record and Knights of Fianna if you really want to get a feel of what the series is truly capable of if its adapted faithfully to the source material. You'll probably get bored at first for the setup hours but once you get to the meaty part, its just so damn good Argonaut is set in ancient times where Gods haven't descended yet to the mortal realm and humanity is in the brink of extinction. Astrea Record depicts Ryuu the bar maid's previous Familia and the dark times of Orario. Knights of Fianna is also set in ancient times but after Argonaut's time. If you watched these side stories you'll notice that the story are all connected and this series is just a one big heroic legend Also you're spot on on Bell's character, he's just a naive boy trying his best and tired of other people's agenda lol. He's kind but not to the point of being blind. The anime kinda dumbs his character down and doesn't adapt his thoughts
I like watching stupid shows sometimes, and season one of Danmachi was my stupid anime for the season. I’m so glad I watched it because each season has been better than the last.

Look into Sword Oratoria. It’s a side story that follows the Loki Familia and adds even more to the world set up by Bell’s story
