Good point in mentioning both ends may be leaking.
Had a mate get deep in to his car to change a hose that was leaking.
Tested the new one before fitting and it still leaked.
Poor fella had only tested the end that was leaking, fixed it and didn’t realise the other end was cactus too so all had to come out again

A squirter bottle with a little dishwashing liquid & water sprayed on the fittings will show leaks if you are testing with air. 👍🏻
