I think you can definitely go as many colour you like for creature spells when lost caverns of ixilan comes out. My first deck was this style deck but abzan in alchemy with darksteel hydra plus "destroy" board wipes
Just played and won my first game with this and I felt filthy afterwards. Played the first Vindicator, they immediately killed it, probably thinking that was it. Then I dropped the other one and an Obliterator the following turn. They conceded. That enchantment that gives Phyrexians vigilance is so good, I don't know why I always overlooked it. It basically gives no openings for your opponent to ever attack without getting punished unless they just have endless removal/exile. Absolutely disgusting deck.
I started mtg arena last month and i cant get to playing anithing but Brawl becuse getting multiple Mythic and Rare wildcards has been tough especialy if you need multiple of single mythic for a deck. I wish just unlocking the card once would let u put as manny as u want in your deck 😅
If you keep playing your cardpool will become deeper. And for the new sets you will also need less wildcards, since you can get copies out of the free packs. I've been slowly transitioning to more historic after about a year
Honestly I sunk a good chunk of money in the game. It's cheaper than paper especially when you play explorer/pioneer but there's no duplicate protection even when there are reprints in a set which sucks but still good.
That land base says "that's a nice curve you got there, would be a shame if something ruined it" I do love the deck tho and build my own edited version of it :)
@@LegenVD its weird cause usually cards like eiganjo/vind say "by an opponent", or "to the source's controller", or "an attacking creature an opponent controls". i was very surprised when i looked up the wording on both cards.
What do you think about revisiting this with caverns out and maybe adding shelly to be more competitive. And or what would you add to this in the current meta outside of 4 caverns?
Obliterator is the first fella crafted with my mythic cards, he seemed like such BS; I think I made some sort of black green fight deck, sometimes buffing my opponents creature to make them sacrifice almost their whole board
Thoughts on playing Steel Seraph? I made similar deck at one point, and I really liked Steel Seraph in the deck because it solved the vigilance problem but could also could also give lifelink in a pinch for the red matchups and flying to push more damage.
Definitely considered it, but not being a Phyrexian makes it a little tricky to play on curve. Especially once we add Cavern to replace some of the tapped duallands.
Yeah I feel like this deck can be much stronger, but I like it. definitely will build it. Maybe with Elas il kor, or that Phyrexian that only lets you cast 1 non Phyrexian spell in the sideboard. Deck might just build itself
@@jsum33 maybe, but sometimes it’s easy to forget that some of these cards exist, and other times you might not want to include them in the deck for fun factor. That’s why he says Sheoldreds not in the deck. Who knows, I was just saying I feel like a refined list could exist.
I started playing a couple days ago, so I dont have alot of cards but Ive been having some success using a similar deck but more focused on incubate. (Using the B+W Legions of Phyrexia starter deck as a base) What should i spend my gems/gold on if i want to keep playing more Phyrexian stuff? Or should i not focus on Phyrexian stuff because its an older set thats going away? (Also casting a Death-rattle Oni after chump blocking a bunch of stuff seems to give people connection issues...)
It depends most on what format you play. Im a historic enjoyer so any card you get now will always have a home there. If you prefer standard than I would say enjoy your phyrexians now but investing into old set has diminishing returns
Nothing will go away/rotate out for almost a year so you can really feel free to get any cards you want. There will be a new set (Ixalan) coming in a couple of weeks tho, so maybe consider saving resources until then if you wanna get some brand new cards… or just keep playing phyrexians if you like them! There probably won’t be many more of those coming for quite some time since they just had many sets in a row that focused on their invasions…
@@HellionSol I'm still not sure. I've only just made it through what seems like the tutorial, but so far standard (I think its standard idk its the spark rank or something) is just kinda nothing but agro red, I pretty much get steamrolled every other match, i stopped playing hearthstone a while ago for that same reason haha, is historic more varied? longer games?
@@wouterx333 historic is every card available in arena (except banned cards of course) Games are much faster and the power level is generally higher. Standard is easier to get into, but Historic has so much longevity and excitement, in my opinion of course
If you want to win, definitely do not craft fun decks like this. A normal skilled player can't get over 50% winrate with sth like this. Especially beware of other channels advertising complete junk as "100% win rate", HelloGoodGame for example. I'd concentrate on getting a decent mono white or mono red deck. Those are the strongest in standard and also cheap to craft (no/few rare lands needed). With those decke you play a couple of times a day and get gold from daily/weekly wins. They are not too much fun to play, but they are relatively easy to play and also not trivial to master. (white is more fun and a little more complex than red I think) If possible invest in the season pass, you get about 5 times the value from that than just buying packs for gems=dollars.
Lol, you sweet naive child. They extended standard so all the annoying combos/cards you hate will stick around for a minimum of three years…another terrible decision by WotC :/
A question: I get why people play mono red aggro, it is fast, powerful and ranks up quick in the ladder so you can get more packs and gold every season. I also think aggro is a fun archetype. But when you have already reached mythic, why are there still so many people playing mono red aggro? None of these people want to play something different?
Did you know that you can cast the4 pip cards pretty easily by using the landcycling cards? 2 colorless to search for a basic land you need. Guaranteed. White has the samurai that gives you life when searching for a plains. I use this strategy to great effect in a Boros build. Not only does it help to get the specific mana you need, it also functions as ramp for higher mana value cards. Not sure why more people don’t understand this. The Boros build has an 82% win rate too.
Cavern of Souls in Ixalan will be another nice upgrade for the manabase!
"We're not playing Sheoldred in this deck, it's all about the memes"
how can one man be so absolutely based
very first game, too, either 4drop being Sheoldred instead would have shut the door on the match up immediately
“Blast Zone is acceptable…Farewell is not.”
with Cavern of Souls land from upcoming ixalan set, your phyrexian creature will be uncounterable
